< 1 Juan 4 >

1 Loqꞌalaj taq qachalal, mikoj rech xapachin ri kubꞌij chiꞌwe chi are ri Uxlabꞌixel kachꞌaw che, xane qas chichꞌobꞌo rij we qas rech ri Dios ri kubꞌij, rumal cher sibꞌalaj e kꞌi winaq xeꞌl loq cho ri uwachulew ri kakijaluj chi e qꞌalajisal taj utzij ri Dios.
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
2 Ri qꞌalajisal tzij ri kubꞌij chi ri Jesucristo xpe cho ri uwachulew pa tyoꞌjal rech winaq, qas rech wi ri Dios.
By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit who confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,
3 Ri qꞌalajisal tzij ri kubꞌij chi ri Jesús man rech ta ri Dios, man ralkꞌwaꞌl taj ri Dios riꞌ xane ralkꞌwaꞌl ri esal uwach ri Cristo, itom loq chi ri esal uwach ri Cristo kape na, qas kꞌo chi kꞌu wi choch ri uwachulew.
and every spirit who does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God; and this is the spirit of the Antichrist, of whom you have heard that it comes. Now it is in the world already.
4 Loqꞌalaj taq walkꞌwaꞌl, ix ix rech ri Dios xuqujeꞌ xixchꞌeken pa kiwiꞌ ri kakijaluj chi e qꞌalajisal taq utzij ri Dios, jeriꞌ rumal sibꞌalaj nim uchuqꞌabꞌ ri kꞌo iwukꞌ ix, cho ri kꞌo kukꞌ ri winaq ri ajuwachulew.
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world.
5 Ri winaq kakitzijoj ri jastaq jetaq ri kakichomaj aꞌreꞌ, rumal cher e rech ri uwachulew xuqujeꞌ ri winaq ajuwachulew utz keꞌkito.
They are of the world. Therefore they speak of the world, and the world hears them.
6 Ri uj uj rech ri Dios, konojel ri winaq ri ketaꞌm uwach ri Dios kakitatabꞌej ri kaqabꞌij; ri winaq ri man e rech ta ri Dios man kutatabꞌej ta ri kaqabꞌij. Jeriꞌ kaqabꞌan chi retaꞌmaxik jachin chike ri uxlabꞌal rech ri qas tzij xuqujeꞌ jachin ri uxlabꞌal rech bꞌanal tzij.
We are of God. He who knows God listens to us. He who is not of God does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
7 Loqꞌalaj taq qachalal, qaloqꞌaj qibꞌ chiqajujunal, rumal che ri loqꞌanik rukꞌ ri Dios kape wi. Ri winaq ri kaloqꞌanik, retaꞌm uwach ri Dios riꞌ xuqujeꞌ che ri Dios petinaq wi.
Beloved, let’s love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
8 Jachin ri man kaloqꞌan taj man retaꞌm ta uwach ri Dios riꞌ, jeriꞌ rumal ri Dios areꞌ loqꞌanik.
He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
9 Ri Dios xukꞌut ri uloqꞌanik chiqawach are xutaq loq ri xa jun ukꞌojol cho ri uwachulew rech xa rumal areꞌ kayaꞌtaj na jun alik qakꞌaslemal.
By this God’s love was revealed in us, that God has sent his only born Son into the world that we might live through him.
10 Ri loqꞌanik man are taj chi xqaloqꞌaj uj nabꞌe ri Dios, xane Areꞌ xujuloqꞌaj xuqujeꞌ xutaq loq ri xa jun ukꞌojol rech xjach pa kamikal rumal ri qamak.
In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins.
11 Loqꞌalaj taq wachalal, we ujuloqꞌam uj ri Dios, qaloqꞌaj xuqujeꞌ qibꞌ uj chiqajujunal.
Beloved, if God loved us in this way, we also ought to love one another.
12 Maj jun ilowinaq ri Dios, we kꞌu kaqaloqꞌaj qibꞌ chiqajujunal kꞌo riꞌ ri Dios pa qanimaꞌ xuqujeꞌ kꞌo riꞌ ri uloqꞌanik chiqaxoꞌl.
No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God remains in us, and his love has been perfected in us.
13 Ri Uxlabꞌixel ri kꞌo pa qanimaꞌ are kakꞌutuwik chi uj kꞌo pa Cristo xuqujeꞌ ri Cristo kꞌo pa qanimaꞌ.
By this we know that we remain in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.
14 Ri uj xqilo xuqujeꞌ kaqatzijoj chi ri Tataxel Dios xutaq loq ri ukꞌojol chkikolik ri winaq ri e kꞌo cho ri uwachulew.
We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as the Savior of the world.
15 Ri kuqꞌalajisaj chi ri Jesús are ukꞌojol ri Dios, we winaq riꞌ kꞌo pa Dios xuqujeꞌ ri Dios kꞌo pa ranimaꞌ areꞌ.
Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God remains in him, and he in God.
16 Ri uj xqetaꞌmaj xuqujeꞌ kaqakojo chi ri Dios kujuloqꞌaj. Ri Dios are loqꞌanik. Ri kꞌo pa loqꞌanik, kꞌo pa Dios xuqujeꞌ ri Dios kꞌo pa ranimaꞌ ri winaq riꞌ.
We know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him.
17 We loqꞌanik riꞌ kukꞌut ribꞌ chiqaxoꞌl uj, rech are kuriq ri qꞌij rech qꞌatoj tzij rukꞌ kuꞌlibꞌal kꞌuꞌx kaqakꞌut qibꞌ choch ri Dios, jeriꞌ rumal xqakꞌaslebꞌej ri qakꞌaslemal jacha ri xnoꞌjin ri Jesús. Pa ri loqꞌanik maj xibꞌin ibꞌ.
In this, love has been made perfect among us, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment, because as he is, even so we are in this world.
18 Xane ri tzꞌaqatalaj loqꞌanik karesaj bꞌi ri xibꞌin ibꞌ. Ri winaq ri xaq kuxiꞌj ribꞌ che ri kꞌax ri kape puꞌwiꞌ, majaꞌ katzꞌaqat riꞌ pa ri loqꞌanik.
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment. He who fears is not made perfect in love.
19 Ri uj kaqaloqꞌaj ri Dios jeriꞌ rumal cher Areꞌ xujuloqꞌaj nabꞌe.
We love him, because he first loved us.
20 We kꞌo jun kubꞌij: Ri in kinloqꞌaj ri Dios, karetzelaj kꞌu uwach ri rachalal, xaq jun bꞌanal tzij riꞌ, rumal che ri winaq ri man kuloqꞌaj taj ri rachalal, ri karil uwach ronojel qꞌij, man kakwin ta riꞌ kuloqꞌaj ri Dios ri man rilom ta uwach.
If a man says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?
21 Are ri Dios yoꞌwinaq ri taqanik chaqe ri kubꞌij: Ri kuloqꞌaj ri Dios chuloqꞌaj xuqujeꞌ ri rachalal.
This commandment we have from him, that he who loves God should also love his brother.
