< 1 Corintios 4 >
1 Xaq jeriꞌ chichꞌobꞌo bꞌa chi uj patanil rech ri Cristo, xuqujeꞌ uj kujilowik jas kabꞌan chukojik ri jastaq rech ri Dios ri man etaꞌmatal ta loq nabꞌe.
So then, men ought to regard us as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.
2 Rajawaxik chi ri e chajil taq rech ri ujastaq ri Dios kikꞌutuꞌ chi qas e kꞌulibꞌal kuꞌx.
Now it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.
3 Ri in kꞌut man kakꞌaxir ta wanimaꞌ we kiqꞌat tzij pa nuwiꞌ o xapachin ne chike ri e qꞌatal taj tzij rech ri uwachulew kaqꞌatow tzij pa nuwiꞌ. Qas tzij man ne kinqꞌat ta tzij pa nuwiꞌ in.
I care very little, however, if I am judged by you or by any human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself.
4 Pune man in ajmak taj kinnaꞌo, man are ta riꞌ kakꞌutuwik chi maj numak, are ri Ajawxel kaqꞌatow na tzij pa nuwiꞌ.
My conscience is clear, but that does not vindicate me. It is the Lord who judges me.
5 Xaq jeriꞌ, miqꞌat tzij puꞌwiꞌ jachinaq peta na ri Ajawxel, areꞌ kaqꞌalajisan na cho ri tunal ri katunanik ri awatalik pa ri qꞌequꞌmal xuqujeꞌ kukꞌut na jastaq ri kꞌo pa taq ri animaꞌaj. Jeriꞌ kayaꞌtaj na che jun ri kataqiꞌ che, rumal ri Dios.
Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men’s hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God.
6 Qachalal, ronojel we kinbꞌij chiꞌwe nuchakubꞌem in, xuqujeꞌ je ubꞌanom ri Apolos jeriꞌ kujkwinik kixqatoꞌo, rech kiwetaꞌmaj chi man kibꞌan ta chi jun jastaq we man are ri tzꞌibꞌatalik. Rech maj jun kunaꞌ nimal cho jun chik.
Brothers, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us not to go beyond what is written. Then you will not take pride in one man over another.
7 ¿Jachin kabꞌin chawe chi man katjunumataj ta kukꞌ nikꞌaj chik? ¿Jas kꞌo awukꞌ ri man xa ta xakꞌamawaꞌj chi che jun? We xa xakꞌamawaꞌj, ¿jas kꞌu che kabꞌano chi jer ta ne man xa ta xya chawe?
For who makes you so superior? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?
8 Xyaꞌtaj chiꞌwe ronojel ri karaj ri iwanimaꞌ, xixqꞌinomarik, xixux taqanelabꞌ pa kiwiꞌ ri winaq, man uj iwachiꞌl ta kꞌu uj. Kꞌo ta bꞌa ne wi qas ix taqanelabꞌ pa kiwiꞌ nikꞌaj chik rech jeriꞌ kujtaqan iwukꞌ.
Already you have all you want. Already you have become rich. Without us, you have become kings. How I wish you really were kings, so that we might be kings with you!
9 Ri kinchꞌobꞌ in chirij we jastaq riꞌ are chi ri Dios xubꞌan chaqe uj ri uj taqoꞌn kujkanaj kan pa ri kꞌisbꞌal kꞌolibꞌal, jetaq ri kabꞌan chike ri kekamisaxik. Xujkoj che kꞌutbꞌal chikiwach ronojel ri jastaq ri e tiktalik, chikiwach ri angelibꞌ xuqujeꞌ chikiwach ri achyabꞌ.
For it seems to me that God has displayed us apostles at the end of the procession, like prisoners appointed for death. We have become a spectacle to the whole world, to angels as well as to men.
10 Xa rumal rech ri Cristo ri uj maj qetaꞌmabꞌal. Ri ix kꞌut kꞌo iwetaꞌmabꞌal pa Cristo. Uj riꞌ ri man kꞌo ta qachuqꞌabꞌ. Ri ix kixloqꞌaxik are kꞌu ri uj ketzelax qawach.
We are fools for Christ, but you are wise in Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You are honored, but we are dishonored.
11 Kamik kaqanaꞌ numik, chaqij chiꞌ, maj qatzꞌyaq, kabꞌan kꞌax chaqe, man kꞌo ta qachoch jawjeꞌ kujkꞌojiꞌ wi.
To this very hour we are hungry and thirsty, we are poorly clothed, we are brutally treated, we are homeless.
12 Rukꞌ we qaqꞌabꞌ kaqakamisaj qibꞌ che chak, uj keꞌqatewechiꞌj ri winaq pune kꞌax taq tzij kakibꞌij chaqe, kaqakochꞌo pune kujtzukuxik rech kabꞌan kꞌax chaqe.
We work hard with our own hands. When we are vilified, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it;
13 Utz kaqabꞌan chi kichꞌabꞌexik ri winaq pune kakibꞌan bꞌanoj tzij chaqij xuqujeꞌ kakibꞌij pa taq we qꞌij kamik riꞌ chi uj ri kujchꞌulujin ri uwachulew, man kꞌo ta qapatan.
when we are slandered, we answer gently. Up to this moment we have become the scum of the earth, the refuse of the world.
14 Makintzꞌibꞌaj ta we riꞌ chiꞌwe rech kixinya pa ikꞌixibꞌal, xane rech kixinpixibꞌaj apanoq jer ta ne ix kꞌo loqꞌalaj taq walkꞌwaꞌl.
I am not writing this to shame you, but to warn you as my beloved children.
15 Pune e kꞌo sibꞌalaj e kꞌi mil winaq ri kakibꞌij ri usukꞌumal ri Cristo chiꞌwe, wetaꞌm chi man e kꞌi taj iꞌtat e kꞌolik, jeriꞌ rumal in in itat pa Cristo Jesús rumal cher in xintzijon ri Cristo chiꞌwe.
Even if you have ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel.
16 Rumal riꞌ kixinbꞌochiꞌj rech kiwesaj uwach ri tajin kinbꞌano.
Therefore I urge you to imitate me.
17 Rumal waꞌ xintaq bꞌik ri Timoteo iwukꞌ, loqꞌalaj nukꞌojol pa ri Ajawxel Jesús, rech jeriꞌ kunaꞌtaj chiꞌwe jas jeꞌ ri kinnoꞌjin in pa Cristo, are waꞌ rajawaxik kaya ukꞌutik pa taq ri komontyox.
That is why I have sent you Timothy, my beloved and faithful child in the Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ Jesus, which is exactly what I teach everywhere in every church.
18 Kamik kꞌut e kꞌo jujun chiꞌwe ri kakibꞌan nimal, pa kikꞌuꞌx riꞌ chi man kixeꞌnsolij taj.
Some of you have become arrogant, as if I were not coming to you.
19 Qas tzij wiꞌ we karaj ri Dios, kixeꞌnsolij na, keꞌqil kꞌu na riꞌ ri winaq, man xaq xwi ta jas kakibꞌano are ketzijonik xane janipa unimal ri kikwinem kꞌolik, jas che ri kakibꞌan nimal.
But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord is willing, and then I will find out not only what these arrogant people are saying, but what power they have.
20 Jeriꞌ, rumal ri rajawarem ri Dios man are ta kakꞌutuwik janipa tzij kubꞌij jun xane janipa ukwinem kꞌolik.
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.
21 ¿Jas kꞌu kiwaj? ¿La are kꞌu kiwaj kinkꞌam bꞌik cheꞌyabꞌal o are kiwaj kinkꞌam bꞌik loqꞌanik xuqujeꞌ jun uxlabꞌal ri kajororik?
Which do you prefer? Shall I come to you with a rod, or in love and with a gentle spirit?
