1 Corintios 15
1 Wachalal, kawaj kinnaꞌtaj chiꞌwe ri utz laj taq tzij ri xintzijoj chiꞌwe, xuqujeꞌ xikꞌamawaꞌj, ri ix kꞌo chupam kamik.
NOW I make known unto you, brethren, the gospel which I have preached unto you, and which ye have received, in which also ye have stood fast;
2 Rumal we tzij riꞌ xixkolotajik we qas ix jeqel chupam. We kꞌu man ix jeqel chupam, maj rumal ri xixkojonik.
by which also ye are saved; if ye cleave to that word I have preached to you, except haply ye have believed in vain.
3 Rumal cher nabꞌe na xintzijoj chiꞌwe ri xinkꞌamawaꞌj in: Ri Cristo xkꞌam rumal ri qamak jetaq ri kubꞌij ri Tzꞌibꞌatalik,
For I delivered to you among the first things that which I also had received, that Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures;
4 xmuqiꞌk, xuqujeꞌ xkꞌastaj churox qꞌij jetaq ri kubꞌij ri Tzꞌibꞌatalik.
and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
5 Xukꞌut kꞌu ribꞌ cho ri Cefas, xuqujeꞌ chikiwach ri e kabꞌlajuj tijoxelabꞌ.
and that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
6 Kꞌa te riꞌ xukꞌut ribꞌ chikiwach sibꞌalaj e kꞌi cho ri jobꞌ ciento alaxik, e kꞌi chike we winaq riꞌ e kꞌas na kamik, pune e kꞌo jujun chike ri e kaminaq chik.
afterwards he appeared before five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater number remain alive unto this hour, but some also are gone to rest.
7 Kꞌa te riꞌ xukꞌut ribꞌ cho ri Jacobo, xuqujeꞌ chikiwach konojel ri e taqoꞌn.
Afterwards he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
8 Kꞌisbꞌal rech, xukꞌut ribꞌ chinuwach in, jer xinux ri akꞌal ri xkꞌojiꞌk man xtzꞌaqat ta ri uqꞌijal.
And last of all he was seen also by me, who am but as an abortion.
9 Qas tzij kinqꞌalajisaj chi in riꞌ ri sibꞌalaj man kꞌo ta nuqꞌij chike ri e taqoꞌn, man ne taqal taj kabꞌix taqoꞌn chwe, rumal cher xinbꞌan kꞌax che ri ukomontyox ri Dios.
For I am the least of the apostles, who am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
10 Xa rumal ri utoqꞌobꞌ ri Dios je kinuxik jetaq ri kinuxik, ri toqꞌobꞌ ri xya chwe qas kꞌo xutayij. In sibꞌalaj in chakuninaq chikiwach konojel, pune man in taj, xane are ri utoqꞌobꞌ ri Dios ri kꞌo wukꞌ.
But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was given to me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all; yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
11 We kꞌu in o aꞌreꞌ ne, are waꞌ ri kaqatzijoj xuqujeꞌ are waꞌ ri ikojom ix.
Therefore whether I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.
12 Qilampeꞌ, we kaqatzijoj chi ri Cristo xkꞌastaj chikixoꞌl ri kaminaqibꞌ ¿jas kꞌu che kakibꞌij jujun chiꞌwe chi maj kꞌastajibꞌal wach?
But if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you, that there is no resurrection of the dead?
13 We man kꞌo kꞌastajisabꞌal wach, man xkꞌastaj ta bꞌa riꞌ ri Cristo chikixoꞌl ri kaminaqibꞌ.
But if there is no resurrection of the dead, neither is Christ risen:
14 We man xkꞌastaj ri Cristo, man kꞌo ta bꞌa kutayij riꞌ ri tzij ri kaqatzijoj, xuqujeꞌ man kꞌo ta kutayij riꞌ ri ikojobꞌal.
and if Christ be not risen, vain indeed is our preaching, and vain also your faith.
15 Uj bꞌanal taq tzij bꞌa riꞌ rumal ri xqaqꞌalajisaj chi ri Dios xukꞌastajisaj ri Cristo, pune man tzij, we kaqabꞌij kekꞌastaj taj ri e kaminaqibꞌ.
Yea, and we also are found false witnesses for God; because we have testified on the behalf of God, that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if indeed the dead are not raised.
16 We man kekꞌastaj ri kaminaqibꞌ, man xkꞌastaj ta bꞌa riꞌ ri Cristo.
For if the dead are not raised, neither is Christ risen:
17 Xuqujeꞌ we man xkꞌastajik ri Cristo, man kꞌo ta bꞌa kutayij riꞌ ri ikojobꞌal xuqujeꞌ ix kꞌo bꞌa na riꞌ pa ri imak.
and if Christ be not risen, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
18 Xsach bꞌa kiwach riꞌ ri e kꞌo pa Cristo are xekam bꞌik.
Then also they who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished.
19 We xaq xwi chirij ri Cristo kuꞌl wi qakꞌuꞌx pa we kꞌaslemal riꞌ, sibꞌalaj kꞌax qe riꞌ chkiwach konojel ri winaq.
If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are more miserable than all other men.
20 Qetaꞌm kꞌut chi ri Cristo xkꞌastaj chikixoꞌl ri kaminaqibꞌ, nabꞌe kꞌastajel kukꞌut chiqawach chi kekꞌastaj na konojel ri xekamik.
But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first-fruit of those who have fallen asleep.
21 Qas tzij ri kamikal xa rumal rech jun achi xpetik, xuqujeꞌ xa rumal rech jun achi xpe ri kꞌastajibꞌal ke konojel ri e kaminaqibꞌ.
For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
22 Xa rumal ri Adán konojel xekamik xuqujeꞌ xa rumal ri Cristo konojel kekꞌastaj na.
For as in Adam all are dead, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.
23 Konojel kꞌut kekꞌastaj na pa ucholajil, nabꞌe xkꞌastaj ri Cristo, kꞌa te riꞌ kekꞌastaj na ri e rech Cristo are katzalij loq.
But every one in his own rank: Christ the first-fruit; afterwards those that are Christ’s at his appearing.
24 Kape kꞌu na ri kꞌisbꞌal rech ri uwachulew, ri Cristo kachꞌeken na pa kiwiꞌ ri kabꞌan ke xuqujeꞌ ronojel chuqꞌabꞌ, ronojel kwinem kꞌa te riꞌ kujach na ri ajawarem che ri Tataxel Dios.
Then cometh the end, when he shall deliver up the kingdom to God, and the Father; when he shall have destroyed every dominion and every authority and power.
25 Are kechꞌektaj konojel ri uꞌkꞌulel xuqujeꞌ ketakꞌaleꞌtaj rumal, kataqan na pa kiwiꞌ konojel.
For he must reign, until he hath put all enemies under his feet.
26 Ri kꞌisbꞌal kꞌulel ri katukix na are ri kamikal.
The last enemy shall be destroyed, death.
27 Rumal cher ri Dios xuya chuxeꞌ raqan uqꞌabꞌ ri Jesús ronojel ri jastaq, ri Dios man kajilabꞌ taj chuxoꞌl ronojel we jastaq riꞌ, rumal cher are ri Dios xbꞌan rech, rech ronojel ri jastaq kakanaj chuxeꞌ raqan ri Cristo.
For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith, that all things are put under him, it is evident that there is an exception of him, who subjected all things to him.
28 Are xyaꞌtaj ronojel ri jastaq chuxeꞌ raqan ri Kꞌojolaxel, ri Kꞌojolaxel kumochꞌ na ribꞌ chuxeꞌ raqan ri xyoꞌw che ronojel ri jastaq, rech jeriꞌ kakꞌojiꞌ ri Dios pa kanimaꞌ konojel ri winaq.
But when he shall have put all things under him, then also the Son himself shall be subjected to him who put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
29 We man kꞌo kꞌastajisabꞌal wach ¿jas kakichꞌek ri kakibꞌan kiqasanaꞌ kumal ke ri kaminaqibꞌ? We man kekꞌastaj ri kaminaqibꞌ ¿jas che kakibꞌan kiqasanaꞌ we winaq riꞌ?
Else what will they do who are baptised? for the dead, if wholly dead they rise no more. Why are they then baptised for the dead?
30 Ri uj kꞌut ¿jas che kaqaya qibꞌ pa kꞌax ronojel mul?
and why do we also expose ourselves to danger every hour?
31 Wachalal, qas tzij kinnaꞌ nimal iwumal iwe pa Cristo Jesús ri Ajawxel, pune wetaꞌm chi ronojel qꞌij tajin kinkamik.
I solemnly declare by all the joy over you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.
32 ¿Jas kꞌu xinchꞌek riꞌ we xa rumal ri nutyoꞌjal xinchꞌoꞌjin pa ri tinimit Éfeso kukꞌ ri winaq ri jer e kꞌo juyubꞌil taq aꞌwaj? We man kekꞌastaj ri kaminaqibꞌ, chujwoꞌq, chujqumunoq, xa chweꞌq kujkamik.
If after the manner of men I have fought with wild beasts at Ephesus, of what advantage would it be to me, if the dead did not rise again? shall we eat and drink; because to-morrow we die?
33 Misubꞌ iwibꞌ: Ri itzel taq tzijonem kutukij ri utz taq noꞌjibꞌal.
Be not deceived: evil conversations corrupt good manners.
34 Chixtzalij pa ri utz inoꞌjibꞌal, jetaq ri qas kataqiꞌk chiꞌwe, xuqujeꞌ man kixmakun ta chik. Qas tzij wi qas e kꞌo wi jujun chiꞌwe man ketaꞌm ta uwach ri Dios. Kinbꞌij waꞌ chiꞌwe rech kixkꞌixik.
Awake as the righteous, and sin not; for some have an ignorance of God: I speak this to your shame.
35 Wine kꞌo jun kuto: ¿Jas kakibꞌan ri kaminaqibꞌ ketzalij pa ri kꞌaslemal? ¿Jas ubꞌantajik ri kityoꞌjal are kekꞌastajik?
But will any man say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?
36 Maj awetaꞌmabꞌal, ri tikoꞌn man kakꞌasiꞌ taj we man nabꞌe kakamik.
Thou fool! what thou sowest is not quickened except it die:
37 Jun ijaꞌ rech tiriko o xapaskux ijaꞌ riꞌ ri tajin katiko are kꞌu ri kakꞌiy loq jaljoj cho ri katiko.
and that which thou sowest, thou sowest not the body which shall be afterwards, but the bare grain, perhaps of wheat, or of some of the other seeds:
38 Are ri Dios kabꞌanow che ri tikoꞌn jas jeꞌ ri karaj areꞌ. Chkijujunal ri ijaꞌ kubꞌan chike je kekaꞌyik jetaq ri karaj Areꞌ.
but God giveth it a body as he pleaseth, and to each of the seeds its peculiar body.
39 Man konojel taj ri tyoꞌjal e junam; kꞌo tyoꞌjal rech winaq, kꞌo ke aꞌwaj ri kebꞌinik cho ri ulew, kꞌo ke ri aꞌwaj ri kerapinik xuqujeꞌ kꞌo kityoꞌjal ri e kar.
All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, and another flesh of cattle, and another of fishes, and another of birds.
40 Je xuqujeꞌ e kꞌo kityoꞌjal ri e kꞌo chikaj, xuqujeꞌ ri e kꞌo cho ri uwachulew. Xa kꞌu jun ubꞌanik ri kijeꞌlal ri e kꞌo chikaj, ri kityoꞌjal ri ajuwachulew man kajunumataj ta kukꞌ ri ke ri e kꞌo chikaj.
Also there are celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and that of the terrestrial another.
41 Jun chike are ri ujuluwem ri qꞌij, ri jun chik are ri ujeꞌlal ri ikꞌ xuqujeꞌ ri rech ri chꞌumil. Chi kijujunal ri chꞌumil kꞌo utunal.
There is one glory of the sun; and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for star differeth from star in glory.
42 Je xuqujeꞌ kakꞌulmataj rukꞌ ri kꞌastajibꞌal wach kech ri e kaminaqibꞌ. We man qas jeꞌl ubꞌanik are katikik, kakꞌastaj na pa jeꞌlal.
So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
43 Ri katikik pa qꞌayinaqil kakꞌastaj na pa jeꞌlal. Ri tikoꞌnijik ri kabꞌan rukꞌ bꞌaqꞌoꞌtem, kakꞌastaj na rukꞌ kwinem.
it is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
44 Katik jun tyoꞌjal rech winaq, kakꞌastaj kꞌu na jun tyoꞌjal rech uxlabꞌal. We kꞌu kꞌo jun tyoꞌjal rech winaq, kꞌo xuqujeꞌ na jun tyoꞌjal rech ri uxlabꞌal.
it is sown an animal body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is an animal body, and there is a spiritual body.
45 Ri tzꞌibꞌatalik kubꞌij: Ri nabꞌe achi Adán, xuxik jun kꞌaslik achi, are kꞌu ri kꞌisbꞌal Adán, are kꞌaslik uxlabꞌixel.
And so it is written, There was a first man Adam a living soul; a last Adam a quickening spirit.
46 Man are ta nabꞌe xpe ri rech ri uxlabꞌal, xane are nabꞌe xpe ri rech uwachulew, kꞌa te riꞌ xpe ri rech ri uxlabꞌal.
But that which is spiritual was not first, but that which is animal; and afterward that which is spiritual.
47 Ri nabꞌe achi che ri ulew xbꞌan wi, ri ukabꞌ achi, are Ajawxel rech ri kaj.
The first man was of the earth, earthly; the second man was the Lord from heaven.
48 Ri winaq ajuwachulew junam rukꞌ ri winaq ri ajuwachulew, are kꞌu ri ajchikajil junam rukꞌ ri winaq ri ajchikajil.
As is the earthly, so are they also that are earthly: and as is the heavenly, such also are they that are heavenly.
49 Kamik uj junam rukꞌ ri winaq rech uwachulew, jun qꞌij kꞌu na kujjunumataj xuqujeꞌ na rukꞌ ri winaq rech chilaꞌ chikaj.
And as we have borne the image of the earthly, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
50 Wachalal, kinqꞌalajisaj chiꞌwach chi ri qatyoꞌjal rech uwachulew, man kakwin taj karechabꞌej ri ajawarem rech ri Dios, xuqujeꞌ ri qꞌayinaqil man kakwin taj karechabꞌej ri man kaqꞌay taj.
But this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God: neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Qas chiwilampeꞌ ri jastaq ri awatal loq kinkꞌut chiꞌwach: Man qonojel taj kujkamik, qonojel kꞌut kujkꞌexkꞌobꞌ na,
Behold, I shew you a mystery; we shall not indeed all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 aninaq, jetaq are kujaqo xuqujeꞌ kutzꞌapij ubꞌoqꞌoch jun winaq, kachꞌawisax na ri kꞌisbꞌal sikꞌinik rech ri suꞌ. Rumal kachꞌawisax kꞌu na ri suꞌ, kꞌa te riꞌ ri e kaminaqibꞌ kekꞌastaj na rukꞌ jun tyoꞌjal ri man qꞌayinaq taj, xuqujeꞌ ri uj ri uj kꞌaslik na, kujkꞌexkꞌobꞌ bꞌik.
in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 Rumal riꞌ rajawaxik chi ri kaqꞌayik man kaqꞌay taj, xuqujeꞌ ri kamel rij kux na winaq ri man kakam ta chik.
For that which is corruptible must put on incorruption, and that which is mortal must put on immortality.
54 Are kakꞌextaj ri tyoꞌjal ri kasach uwach cho ri jun kꞌaslemal chik ri man kasach ta uwach, xuqujeꞌ ri tyoꞌjal ri kamel rij cho ri tyoꞌjal ri man kakam taj, kakꞌulmataj na ri tzꞌibꞌatalik ri kubꞌij: Ri kamikal xchꞌek rumal ri kwinem.
So when that which is corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and that which is mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying which is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 ¿Kamikal, jawjeꞌ xeꞌ wi ri achꞌekoj? ¿Kamikal jawjeꞌ kꞌo wi ri akwinem chubꞌanik kꞌax chaqe? (Hadēs g86)
O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? (Hadēs g86)
56 Ri kꞌax rech ri kamikal are ri makaj, ri ukwinem ri makaj are ri taqanik.
The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57 Xa kꞌu tyox che ri Dios ri kubꞌan chaqe uj chꞌekenelabꞌ rumal rech ri Jesucristo ri Ajawxel.
But thanks be to God, who giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Xaq jeriꞌ, loqꞌalaj taq wachalal, ko chixkꞌoloq, miya iwibꞌ pa salabꞌaxik, chixkꞌiyoq pa ri uchak ri Ajawxel, iwetaꞌm chi ronojel ri kibꞌano pa ri Ajawxel, kꞌo utojbꞌalil.
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, be stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
