1 Corintios 1

PAUL, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,

2 Kintaq we wuj ri chike ri e tyoxirisatal pa Cristo Jesús, e sikꞌital apanoq rech kꞌuꞌx tyoxalaj taq winaq e kachiꞌl ri kakinaꞌtaj ri ubꞌiꞌ ri Dios xuqujeꞌ ri qabꞌiꞌ uj pa ronojel kꞌolibꞌal ri e kꞌo wi:

Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:

3 Chikꞌamawaꞌj toqꞌobꞌ xuqujeꞌ jaꞌmaril che ri Dios, ri qaTat xuqujeꞌ utat ri Ajawxel Jesucristo.

Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

4 Ronojel qꞌij kintyoxin che ri Dios rumal iwe, rumal ri utoqꞌobꞌ ri Dios ri xyaꞌtaj chiꞌwe pa Cristo Jesús.

I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;

5 Rumal cher xikꞌamawaꞌj ronojel uwach qꞌinomal pa Areꞌ pa etaꞌmanik xuqujeꞌ pa tzij,

That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge;

6 jacha ri qꞌalajisanik chirij ri Cristo ri xjeqebꞌax chiꞌwe.

Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:

7 Jeriꞌ maj jun sipanik kajawataj chiꞌwe are kiwayeꞌj apanoq are kukꞌut ribꞌ ri Ajawxel Jesucristo.

So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:

8 Areꞌ kabꞌanow chiꞌwe chi ko kixkꞌojiꞌk kꞌa pa ri kꞌisbꞌal qꞌij, rech maj mak kariqitaj chiꞌwe pa ri qꞌij are katzalij loq ri Jesucristo.

Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

9 Ri Dios ri kubꞌano ri kubꞌij, areꞌ xixsikꞌin apanoq rech kꞌo iriqoj ibꞌ rukꞌ ri Jesucristo, ri Qajawxel.

God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.

12 E kꞌo jujun chiꞌwe kakibꞌij: “In in rech ri Pablo, in in rech ri Apolos, in in rech ri Cefas.” Nikꞌaj chik kakibꞌij: “In in rech ri Cristo.”

Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.

13 ¿La xa kꞌu paꞌital ri Cristo? ¿La are kꞌu ri Pablo xrip rumal ri imak? ¿La pa ubꞌiꞌ kꞌu ri Pablo xbꞌan wi iqasanaꞌ?

Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?

14 Kintyoxin che ri Dios, man kꞌo ta jun chiꞌwe xinbꞌan uqasanaꞌ, xaq xwi xinbꞌan uqasanaꞌ ri Crispo rachiꞌl ri Gayo,

I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;

15 jeriꞌ maj jun kubꞌij chi pa nubꞌiꞌ in xbꞌan wi uqasanaꞌ.

Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name.

16 Xinbꞌan xuqujeꞌ kiqasanaꞌ konojel ri e kꞌo rukꞌ ri Estéfanas; man kanaꞌtaj ta chi chwe we kꞌo chi jun xinbꞌan uqasanaꞌ.

And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.

17 Rumal cher ri Cristo man xinutaq ta loq chubꞌanik qasanaꞌ, xane chutzijoxik ri utz laj taq tzij, man rukꞌ ta kitzij achyabꞌ ri kꞌax uchꞌobꞌik rech man kutzaq taj ri uchuqꞌabꞌ ri xubꞌan ri Cristo cho ri ripbꞌal.

For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

18 Rumal ri utzijoxik ri ukamikal ri Jesús cho ri ripbꞌal xaq konarisabꞌal chike ri kasach kiwach, chaqe uj kꞌut ri kujkoltajik, we tzij riꞌ are ukwinem ri Dios.

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

19 Ri tzꞌibꞌatalik kubꞌij: Kintukij na ri ketaꞌmabꞌal ri achyabꞌ ri kꞌo ketaꞌmabꞌal, xuqujeꞌ kinwetzelaj na ri kinoꞌjibꞌal ri kꞌo ketaꞌm.

For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.

20 ¿Jawjeꞌ kꞌo wi ri achi ri kꞌo retaꞌmabꞌal? ¿Jawjeꞌ kꞌo wi ri qas kusolij ri tzꞌibꞌatalik? ¿Jawjeꞌ kꞌo wi ri achi ri qas kubꞌan chꞌoꞌj pa tzij? ¿La man kꞌu xukonarisaj ri Dios ri etaꞌmabꞌal kech ri achyabꞌ rech we uwachulew riꞌ? (aiōn g165)

Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? (aiōn g165)

21 Pa ri retaꞌmabꞌal ri Dios, xubꞌan chike ri winaq aꞌjuwachulew chi man xketaꞌmaj ta uwach rukꞌ ri ketaꞌmabꞌal, xane xuꞌkolo rukꞌ ri tzij ri xkikojo are xtzijox chike.

For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

22 Ri winaq aꞌj Israel kakita mayijabꞌal taq jastaq xuqujeꞌ ri winaq ri man aꞌj Israel kakita etaꞌmabꞌal.

For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

23 Ri uj kꞌut kaqatzijoj ri Cristo ri xripik. We tzij ri topibꞌal aqanaj chike ri winaq aꞌj Israel, xuqujeꞌ konarisabꞌal kech ri winaq ri man aꞌj Israel taj.

But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

24 Chike kꞌu ri e sikꞌital apanoq, ta kꞌu e winaq aꞌj Israel o man aꞌj Israel taj, ri Cristo are ukwinem xuqujeꞌ retaꞌmabꞌal ri Dios.

But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

25 Rumal cher ri sibꞌalaj kon che ri Dios are sibꞌalaj kꞌo retaꞌmabꞌal cho ri ketaꞌmabꞌal ri winaq xuqujeꞌ ri sibꞌalaj man kꞌo ta uchuqꞌabꞌ pa Dios are sibꞌalaj kꞌo uchuqꞌabꞌ chikiwach ri achyabꞌ.

Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

26 Qachalal, qas chiwila na jas ri qas ix sikꞌital wi apanoq: Man ix kꞌi taj ri kꞌo iwetaꞌmabꞌal jetaq ri kakibꞌij ri winaq, man e kꞌi ta chiꞌwe ri e kalkꞌwaꞌl taq ri taqanelabꞌ.

For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:

27 Ri Dios kꞌut xuchaꞌ ri man kꞌo ta retaꞌmabꞌal cho ri uwachulew rech kuꞌya pa kikꞌixibꞌal ri achyabꞌ ri kꞌo ketaꞌmabꞌal, xuqujeꞌ xuchaꞌ ri sibꞌalaj maj uchuqꞌabꞌ cho ri uwachulew rech kuꞌya pa kikꞌixibꞌal ri kꞌo taqanik pa kiqꞌabꞌ.

But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

28 Ri Dios xuchaꞌ apanoq ri sibꞌalaj man kꞌo ta kakꞌam che xuqujeꞌ ri etzelatal uwach kumal ri winaq xukꞌamawaꞌj ri man sukꞌ taj xuqujeꞌ xretzelaj ri sukꞌ kunaꞌo.

And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

29 Jeriꞌ xubꞌano rech maj jun kubꞌan nimal cho ri Dios.

That no flesh should glory in his presence.

30 Xa Tyox che Areꞌ, ix ix kꞌo pa Cristo Jesús, ri Cristo are qetaꞌmabꞌal, pa juleꞌ taq tzij chik are wa ri xbꞌanow sukꞌ chaqe xuqujeꞌ are xujutyoxirisaj, areꞌ xujtorow loq.

But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

31 Rech jetaq ri tzꞌibꞌatalik: We kꞌo jun kunaꞌ nimal, chunaꞌ nimal pa ri Ajawxel Jesús.

That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
