1 Nangu mutakumenya, bhana bhasu (kulwo kubha enaika na bhanu bhanu abhabhimenya ebhilagilo), ati ebhilagilo ebhimutunga omunu ungwa ali muanga?
Is it not clear, my brothers (I am using an argument to those who have knowledge of the law), that the law has power over a man as long as he is living?
2 Kulwo kubha omugasi unu atwaywe abhoelwe ne bhilagilo ku uliya omulume wae anu kabha ali muanga, mbe nawe omulume wae akafwa kabha asuluywe mu bhilagilo bhyo bhutwasi.
For the woman who has a husband is placed by the law under the power of her husband as long as he is living; but if her husband is dead, she is free from the law of the husband.
3 Kwibhyo oli, mu mwanya omulume wae akabha achali muanga, akabha ekae no mulume oundi, kabhilikilwa mulomesi. Mbe nawe akabha omulume wae afuye, asulumuywe ingulu ye bhilagilo, kwibhyo atakubha mulomesi akabha akae no mulume undi.
So if, while the husband is living, she is joined to another man, she will get the name of one who is untrue to her husband: but if the husband is dead, she is free from the law, so that she is not untrue, even if she takes another man.
4 Kulwejo, bhana bhasu, emwe one mwakolelwe bhafuye mu bhilagilo mu njila yo mubhili gwa Kristo. Jilyati koleleki mubhone okugwatanyisibhwa no undi, ku mwene unu asuluywe okusoka mubhafuye koleleki chitule okumwibhulila Nyamuanga amatwasho.
In the same way, my brothers, you were made dead to the law through the body of Christ, so that you might be joined to another, even to him who came again from the dead, so that we might give fruit to God.
5 kulwo kubha anu chaliga chichali mumubhili, jinamba je chibhibhi jemusibhwe mu bhiungo bhyeswe mu njila ye bhilagilo no kulwibhulila olufu amatwasho.
For when we were in the flesh, the evil passions which came into being through the law were working in our bodies to give the fruit of death.
6 Mbe nawe woli chigulilwa okusoka mu bhilagilo. Chiifwilie ilya inu yachiganyishe. koleleki eswe chibhone okukolwa bhuyaya mu Mwoyo na atali mu bhwakala bhwe elyandiko.
But now we are free from the law, having been made dead to that which had power over us; so that we are servants in the new way of the spirit, not in the old way of the letter.
7 Chaikeki woli? Echilagilo ni chibhibhi? Uli nakatyali. Nitakamenyele chibhibhi, jichilema okumenyekana ku njila ye chilagilo. Kulwo kubha nitakamenyele kuligila echilagilo chichilema okwaika ati, “Wasiga ligila.”
What then is to be said? is the law sin? in no way. But I would not have had knowledge of sin but for the law: for I would not have been conscious of desire if the law had not said, You may not have a desire for what is another's.
8 Nawe echibhibhi chabhwene omwanya gwe chilagilo chilya nichileta munda yani bhuli nyami yo kuligila. Kulwo kubha chikabha chitalio chibhibhi echilagilo chifuye.
But sin, taking its chance through that which was ordered by the law, was working in me every form of desire: because without the law sin is dead.
9 Anye naliga nili muanga mubhwambilo nolwo atali bhilagilo, mbe nawe chejile chaja echilagilo, ne chibhibhi nichibhona obhuanga, nanye nifwa.
And there was a time when I was living without the law: but when the law gave its orders, sin came to life and put me to death;
10 Echilagilo chilya chinu chakaletele obhuanga nichiinduka nichibha Lufu kwanye.
And I made the discovery that the law whose purpose was to give life had become a cause of death:
11 Kulwo kubha echibhibhi chabhwene omwanya mu chilagilo chilya na nichinjingajiga. okulabha ku chilagilo chilya, chanyitile.
For I was tricked and put to death by sin, which took its chance through the law.
12 Kwibhyo ebhilagilo ni bhyelu ne chilagilo ni chelu na yaki one ni ye kisi.
But the law is holy, and its orders are holy, upright, and good.
13 Kwibhyo woli, inu ili ye kisi yaliga lufu kwanye? Yasiga kubha kutyo chimwi. Nawe echibhibhi, koleleki chibhibhi ati ni chibhibhi muno muno okulabha ku bhye kisi, chaletele olufu munda yani. Gunu gwaliga ati koleleki gulabhe ku chilya echilagilo, echibhibhi nichiyongesha okubha chibhibhi muno.
Was then that which is good, death to me? In no way. But the purpose was that sin might be seen to be sin by working death to me through that which is good; so that through the orders of the law sin might seem much more evil.
14 Kulwo kubha chimenyele ati obhusimuka bhwe chibhibhi ni mu mioyo, mbe nawe anye nili munu wa mumubhili. Nigulilwe emwalo yo bhugaya bhye chibhibhi.
For we are conscious that the law is of the spirit; but I am of the flesh, given into the power of sin.
15 Kulwo kubha gunu enikola, nitakugumenya abhwelu. Kulwo kubha linu enenda okukola, elyo niliyo nitakukola, na linu linfululusishe, elyo nilyo enikola.
And I have no clear knowledge of what I am doing, for that which I have a mind to do, I do not, but what I have hate for, that I do.
16 Mbe alabha nikalikola linu nitakwenda, enikilishanya ne bhilagilo ati ebhilagilo ni bhya kisi.
But, if I do that which I have no mind to do, I am in agreement with the law that the law is good.
17 Mbe nawe woli gutali mwoyo gwani gunu ogukola ago, nawe ni chibhibhi chilya chinu chikae Munda yani.
So it is no longer I who do it, but the sin living in me.
18 Kulwo kubha nimenyele ati munda Yani, ati munda yo mubhili gwani, gutakwinyanjamo musango gwe kisi. Kulwo kubha inamba ya linu Lili lye kisi Lili munda yani, mbe nawe nitakulikola.
For I am conscious that in me, that is, in my flesh, there is nothing good: I have the mind but not the power to do what is right.
19 Kulwo kubha Lilya elye kisi linu nendele nitakola, nawe Lilya libhibhi linu nitakwenda kelyo niliyo enikola.
For the good which I have a mind to do, I do not: but the evil which I have no mind to do, that I do.
20 Labha woli enikola Lilya nitakwenda, mbe atali anye omwene-la nawe ni chilya echibhibhi chinu chikae Munda Yani.
But if I do what I have no mind to do, it is no longer I who do it, but the sin living in me.
21 Nimenyele, lindi, chilimo echilagilo munda Yani echo kwenda okukola linu Lili lye kisi, mbe nawe obhubhibhi chimwi bhuli munda Yani.
So I see a law that, though I have a mind to do good, evil is present in me.
22 Kulwo kubha inichikondelelwa echilagilo cha Nyamuanga kwa bhumunu bhwa Munda.
In my heart I take pleasure in the law of God,
23 Nawe enilola echilagilo chinu chitasikene mu bhiungo bhyo mubhili gwani. eiletwa lilemo ingulu ye chilagilo chiyaya mu bhwenge bhwani. Einkola anye kubha mugaya we bhilagilo bhye chibhibhi chinu chili mu bhiungo bhyo mubhili gwani.
But I see another law in my body, working against the law of my mind, and making me the servant of the law of sin which is in my flesh.
24 Anye nili munu wo bhusulubhae! Niga unu kajokunkisha no mubhili gunu ogwo lufu?
How unhappy am I! who will make me free from the body of this death?
25 Mbe nawe isime ku Nyamuanga ku Yesu Kristo Latabhugenyi weswe! Kwibhyo oli. Anye omwene kwo bhwenge bhwani enichikolela echilagilo cha Nyamuanga. Nawe, kwo mubhili enichikolela echilagilo che chibhibhi.
I give praise to God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So with my mind I am a servant to the law of God, but with my flesh to the law of sin.
