ಕೀರ್ತನೆಗಳು 44
1 ಸಂಗೀತ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕನಿಗಾಗಿರುವ ಕೀರ್ತನೆ. ಕೋರಹೀಯರ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಮಾಸ್ಕಿಲ ಪದ್ಯ. ದೇವರೇ, ನಾವು ನಮ್ಮ ಕಿವಿಯಾರೆ ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೇವೆ; ನೀವು ಪೂರ್ವಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಮಗೆ ಅವರು ವಿವರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
“For the leader of the music. A psalm of the sons of Korah.” O God! we have heard with our ears, Our fathers have told us, What deeds thou didst in their days, In the days of old.
2 ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊರಡಿಸಿ, ನಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳನ್ನು ನೆಲೆಗೊಳಿಸಿದಿರಿ; ನೀವು ವೈರಿಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕಿ, ನಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನುಂಟು ಮಾಡಿದಿರಿ.
With thine own hand didst thou drive out the nations, And plant our fathers; Thou didst destroy the nations, And cause our fathers to flourish.
3 ನಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಖಡ್ಗದಿಂದ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಅವರ ತೋಳು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಜಯ ತರಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಆದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಲಗೈಯೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ತೋಳೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮುಖದ ಪ್ರಕಾಶವೇ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಜಯವನ್ನು ತಂದಿತು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ನೀವು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿದಿರಿ.
For not by their own swords did they gain possession of the land, Nor did their own arms give them victory; But thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance; For thou didst favor them!
4 ನೀವೇ ನನ್ನ ಅರಸರೂ ದೇವರೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ಯಾಕೋಬಿಗೆ ಜಯವನ್ನು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸುವ ದೇವರಾಗಿದ್ದೀರಿ.
Thou art my king, O God! O send deliverance to Jacob!
5 ನಿಮ್ಮಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮ ವೈರಿಗಳನ್ನು ದಬ್ಬುವೆವು; ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಎದುರಾಳಿಗಳನ್ನು ತುಳಿಯುವೆವು.
Through thee we may cast down our enemies; Through thy name we may trample upon our adversaries!
6 ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಬಿಲ್ಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಭರವಸೆ ಇಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ನನ್ನ ಖಡ್ಗವು ನನಗೆ ಜಯ ತರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
I trust not in my bow, Nor can my sword save me.
7 ಆದರೆ ನೀವು ನಮ್ಮ ವೈರಿಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ನಮಗೆ ಜಯವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ನೀವು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ದ್ವೇಷಿಸುವವರನ್ನು ನಾಚಿಕೆಪಡಿಸಿದಿರಿ.
But it is thou only who savest us from our enemies, And puttest to shame those who hate us!
8 ದೇವರಲ್ಲಿ ದಿನವೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಾವು ಹಿಗ್ಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ; ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಯುಗಯುಗಕ್ಕೂ ಕೊಂಡಾಡುವೆವು.
In God will we glory continually; Yea, we will praise thy name for ever! (Pause)
9 ಆದರೆ ಈಗ ನೀವು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಳ್ಳಿಬಿಟ್ಟದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಾವು ಕುಗ್ಗಿಹೋಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ಸೈನ್ಯಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ನೀವು ಹೊರಡಲಿಲ್ಲ.
Yet now thou hast cast us off, and put us to shame; Thou goest not forth with our armies.
10 ವೈರಿಯ ಮುಂದೆ ನಾವು ಓಡಿಹೋಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ನಮ್ಮ ವೈರಿಗಳು ನಮ್ಮ ಸೊತ್ತನ್ನು ಕೊಳ್ಳೆ ಹೊಡೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ.
Thou makest us turn back from the enemy, And they who hate us make our goods their prey.
11 ಕಡಿಯತಕ್ಕ ಕುರಿಗಳಂತೆ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದ್ದೀರಿ; ಜನಾಂಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಚದರಿಸಿದ್ದೀರಿ.
Thou makest us like sheep destined for food, And scatterest us among the nations.
12 ನಿಮ್ಮ ಜನರನ್ನು ನೀವು ಕ್ರಯವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಮಾರಿಬಿಟ್ಟಂತಿದೆ. ಆ ಮಾರಾಟದಿಂದ ಲಾಭ ಏನೂ ಇಲ್ಲದಂತಿದೆ.
Thou sellest thy people for nought, And increasest not thy wealth by their price.
13 ನಮ್ಮ ನೆರೆಯವರಿಗೆ ನಾವು ನಿಂದೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ಸುತ್ತಲಿರುವವರಿಗೆ ಗೇಲಿಯಾಗಿಯೂ ಹಾಸ್ಯವೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ.
Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbors, A scorn and a derision to those who are around us.
14 ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಇತರ ದೇಶಗಳವರ ಗಾದೆಗೆ ಆಸ್ಪದ ಮಾಡಿರುವಿರಿ; ಅವರು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಪರಿಹಾಸ್ಯದ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
Thou makest us a byword among the nations, And causest the people to shake their heads at us.
15 ನಿಂದಕನ ಮತ್ತು ದೂಷಕನ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಗೂ ಮುಯ್ಯಿಗೆ ಮುಯ್ಯಿ ತೀರಿಸುವ ಶತ್ರುವಿನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವೂ,
My ignominy is continually before me, And shame covereth my face,
16 ಸದಾ ನನ್ನ ಅವಮಾನವು ನನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಇದೆ; ನನ್ನ ಮುಖವು ನಾಚಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ಮುಚ್ಚಿದೆ.
On account of the voice of the scoffer and the reviler, And on account of the enemy and the avenger.
17 ಇದೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಂತು; ಆದರೆ ನಾವು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಮರೆತುಬಿಡಲಿಲ್ಲ; ನಿಮ್ಮ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಬಿಡಲಿಲ್ಲ.
All this hath come upon us; Yet have we not forgotten thee, Nor have we been false to thy covenant.
18 ನಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯವು ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಲಿಲ್ಲ; ನಮ್ಮ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಗಳು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹಾದಿಯಿಂದ ತೊಲಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.
Our hearts, have not wandered from thee, Nor have our feet gone out of thy path;
19 ಆದರೂ ನರಿಗಳ ವಾಸಸ್ಥಳದಂತೆ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಶವಿದೆ. ಕಾರ್ಗತ್ತಲಿನ ನೆರಳು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿಬಿಟ್ಟಂತಿದೆ.
Though thou hast crushed us in a land of jackals, And covered us with thick darkness.
20 ನಾವು ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಮರೆತು ಅನ್ಯ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಕೈಗಳನ್ನು ಚಾಚಿದ್ದರೆ,
If we had forgotten the name of our God, Or stretched forth our hands to a strange God,
21 ದೇವರೇ ಹೃದಯದ ರಹಸ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದಿರುವ ನಿಮಗೆ ಅವೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಮರೆಯಾಗಿರುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
Surely God would search it out; For he knoweth the secrets of the heart.
22 ಹೌದು, ನಿಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ನಾವು ದಿನವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಮರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಗುರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ವಧಿಸಲಿಕ್ಕಾಗಿರುವ ಕುರಿಗಳಂತೆ ಜನರು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಎಣಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
But for thy sake we are killed all the day; We are counted as sheep for the slaughter.
23 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರೇ, ಏಳಿರಿ, ಹೌದು ಎದ್ದೇಳಿರಿ ಸದಾಕಾಲಕ್ಕೆ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಳ್ಳಿಬಿಡಬೇಡಿರಿ.
Awake! why sleepest thou, O Lord? Arise! cast us not off for ever!
24 ಏಕೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮುಖವನ್ನು ಮರೆಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೀರಿ? ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂಕಟ ಬಾಧೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮರೆತುಬಿಡುವಿರಾ?
Wherefore dost thou hide thy face, And forget our affliction and oppression?
25 ನಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಾಣವು ಮಣ್ಣು ಪಾಲಾದಂತಿದೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ಶರೀರವು ನೆಲ ಪಾಲಾದಂತಿದೆ.
Our soul is bowed down to the dust; Our body cleaveth to the earth.
26 ನಮಗೆ ಸಹಾಯಕರಾಗಿ ಏಳಿರಿ; ನಿಮ್ಮ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯ ಪ್ರೀತಿಗಾಗಿ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ವಿಮೋಚಿಸಿರಿ.
Arise, O thou, our strength! And deliver us, for thy mercy's sake!
