1 ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಈಜಿಪ್ಟಿನೊಳಗಿಂದಲೂ, ಯಾಕೋಬನ ಮನೆತನವು ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಯುಳ್ಳ ಜನರೊಳಗಿಂದಲೂ ಹೊರಟುಬಂದಾಗ,

When Israel went forth out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of foreign language;

2 ಯೆಹೂದವು ದೇವರ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ಸ್ಥಳವಾಯಿತು, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲು ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯವಾಯಿತು.

Judah became his sanctuary, Israel his dominion.

3 ಸಮುದ್ರವು ನೋಡಿ ಓಡಿಹೋಯಿತು; ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ನದಿ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿತು.

The sea saw it, and fled. The Jordan was driven back.

4 ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳು ಟಗರುಗಳಂತೆ ಓಡಿತು, ಗುಡ್ಡಗಳು ಕುರಿಮರಿಗಳಂತೆಯೂ ಓಡಾಡಿದವು.

The mountains skipped like rams, the little hills like lambs.

5 ಸಮುದ್ರವೇ, ನಿನಗೆ ಏನಾಯಿತು? ಏಕೆ ಓಡಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತೀ? ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ನದಿಯೇ, ಏಕೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗುತ್ತೀ?

What was it, you sea, that you fled? You Jordan, that you turned back?

6 ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳೇ, ಟಗರುಗಳ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ; ಚಿಕ್ಕಗುಡ್ಡಗಳೇ, ನೀವು ಕುರಿಮರಿಗಳ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ಹಾರಾಡುವುದೇಕೆ?

You mountains, that you skipped like rams; you little hills, like lambs?

7 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಯಾಕೋಬಿನ ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆಯೂ ಭೂಮಿಯೇ ನಡುಗು.

Tremble, you earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob,

8 ದೇವರು ಬಂಡೆಯನ್ನು ನೀರಿನ ಕೆರೆಯಾಗಿಯೂ, ಕಗ್ಗಲ್ಲನ್ನು ನೀರಿನ ಬುಗ್ಗೆಯಾಗಿ ಮಾರ್ಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.

who turned the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a spring of waters.
