ಜ್ಞಾನೋಕ್ತಿಗಳು 3
1 ಮಗನೇ, ನನ್ನ ಉಪದೇಶವನ್ನು ಮರೆಯಬೇಡ; ನನ್ನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೋ.
My son, mine instruction, do not thou forget, and, my commandment, let thy heart observe;
2 ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವು ನಿನ್ನ ದಿನಗಳನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿ ದೀರ್ಘಾಯುಷ್ಯವನ್ನು ನೀಡುವುದು, ಸಮಾಧಾನವನ್ನೂ ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನೂ ನಿನಗೆ ಕೊಡುವುದು.
For, length of days and years of life, and blessedness, shall they add to thee.
3 ಪ್ರೀತಿ, ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತಿಕೆಗಳು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಡದಿರಲಿ; ಅವು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೊರಳಿನ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಕಟ್ಟಿರಲಿ, ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದ ಹಲಗೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವು ಬರೆದಿರಲಿ.
Lovingkindness and faithfulness, let them not forsake thee, —bind them, upon thy neck, write them upon the tablet of thy heart:
4 ಆಗ ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆಯೂ ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಮುಂದೆಯೂ ದಯೆಯನ್ನೂ, ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಹೆಸರನ್ನೂ ನೀನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವೆ.
So find thou favour and good repute, in the eyes of God and man.
5 ಪೂರ್ಣಹೃದಯದಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಲ್ಲಿ ಭರವಸೆ ಇಡು ನಿನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಬುದ್ಧಿಯ ಮೇಲೆಯೇ ಆಧಾರಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡ.
Trust thou in Yahweh, with all thy heart, and, unto thine own understanding, do not lean:
6 ನಿನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಅಧೀನವಾಗಿರು. ಆಗ ದೇವರು ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳನ್ನು ಸರಾಗ ಮಾಡುವರು.
In all thy ways, acknowledge him, and, he, will make straight thy paths.
7 ನಿನ್ನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೀನೇ ಜ್ಞಾನಿ ಎಂದು ಇರಬೇಡ; ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟು, ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ತೊರೆದುಬಿಡು.
Do not become wise in thine own eyes, revere Yahweh, and avoid evil:
8 ನಿನ್ನ ದೇಹಕ್ಕೆ ಅದು ಆರೋಗ್ಯವನ್ನು ತರುವುದು; ನಿನ್ನ ಎಲುಬುಗಳಿಗೆ ಅದು ಪೋಷಣೆಯನ್ನೂ ತರುವುದು.
Healing, shall it be to thy body, and refreshing, to thy bones.
9 ನಿನ್ನ ಆಸ್ತಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಬೆಳೆಯ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಫಲದಿಂದಲೂ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸು.
Honour thou Yahweh, with thy substance, and with the firstfruit of all thine increase;
10 ಆಗ ನಿನ್ನ ಕಣಜಗಳು ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿಯಿಂದ ತುಂಬುವವು; ಹೊಸ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸದಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ತೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳು ತುಂಬಿರುವುದು.
So shall thy storehouses be filled with plenty, and, with new wine, shall thy vats overflow.
11 ಮಗನೇ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು ತಾತ್ಸಾರ ಮಾಡಬೇಡ; ಅವರು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸುವಾಗ ಬೇಸರಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡ.
The, chastening of Yahweh, my son, do not reject, nor loathe his rebuke;
12 ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ತಂದೆಯು ತನ್ನ ಮುದ್ದುಮಗನನ್ನು ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸುವಂತೆ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಯಾರನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುತ್ತಾರೋ, ಅವರನ್ನು ಶಿಸ್ತುಗೊಳಿಸುವರು.
For, whom Yahweh loveth, he correcteth, he causeth pain to the son in whom he delighteth.
13 ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನು ಧನ್ಯನು, ವಿವೇಕವನ್ನು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನೂ ಧನ್ಯನು.
How happy the man who hath found wisdom, and the man who draweth forth understanding,
14 ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಜ್ಞಾನವು ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಗಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಲಾಭವೂ; ಬಂಗಾರಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಆದಾಯವನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವುದು.
For better is her merchandise, than the merchandise of silver, yea, than gold, her increase;
15 ಜ್ಞಾನವು ಮಾಣಿಕ್ಯಗಳಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಬಹು ಅಮೂಲ್ಯ; ನಿನ್ನ ಇಷ್ಟ ವಸ್ತುಗಳೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
More precious, is she, than corals, yea, none of thy delightful things, doth equal her:
16 ಜ್ಞಾನದ ಬಲಗೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ದೀರ್ಘಾಯುಷ್ಯವಿದೆ; ಎಡಗೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವೂ ಘನತೆಯೂ ಇವೆ.
Length of days, is in her right hand, in her left, are riches and honour;
17 ಜ್ಞಾನದ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳು ಸಂತೋಷಕರ; ಅದರ ದಾರಿಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ಶಾಂತಿಯ ದಾರಿಗಳೇ.
Her ways, are ways of pleasantness, and, all her paths, are peace;
18 ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವವರಿಗೆ ಜ್ಞಾನವು ಜೀವವೃಕ್ಷವಾಗಿದೆ; ಅದನ್ನು ಭದ್ರವಾಗಿ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳುವವರು ಧನ್ಯರು.
A tree of life, is she, to them who secure her, —and, they who hold her fast, are every one to be pronounced happy.
19 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಜ್ಞಾನದಿಂದ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದರು, ತಮ್ಮ ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಅವರು ಆಕಾಶಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಿರಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
Yahweh, in wisdom, founded the earth, establishing the heavens with understanding;
20 ದೇವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಅರಿವಿನಿಂದಲೇ ಸೆಲೆಗಳು ಒಡೆದು, ಮೇಘಗಳು ಇಬ್ಬನಿಯನ್ನು ಸುರಿಸುತ್ತವೆ.
By his knowledge, the resounding deeps were burst open, and, the skies, drop down dew.
21 ಮಗನೇ, ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನೂ ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನೂ ಕಾಪಾಡಿಕೋ, ನಿನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳಿಂದ ಅವು ತಪ್ಪಿಹೋಗದೆ ಇರಲಿ.
My son, let them not depart from thine eyes, guard thou counsel, and purpose:
22 ಅವು ನಿನಗೆ ಜೀವವಾಗಿರಲಿ. ನಿನ್ನ ಕೊರಳಿಗೆ ಆಭರಣವೂ ಆಗಿರುವುವು.
So shall they become life to thy soul, and an adorning to thy neck;
23 ಆಗ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿರುವೆ; ನೀನು ಎಡವದೆ ನಡೆಯುವೆ.
Then, shalt thou walk securely in thy way, and, thy foot, shall not stumble;
24 ನೀನು ಮಲಗುವಾಗ ನಿನಗೆ ಹೆದರಿಕೆ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ನೀನು ಮಲಗಿದಾಗ ನಿದ್ರೆಯು ಸುಖವಾಗಿರುವುದು.
When thou sittest down, thou shalt have no dread, yea thou shalt lie down, and sweet shall be thy sleep.
25 ಆಕಸ್ಮಿಕ ವಿಪತ್ತಿಗೆ ನೀನು ಅಂಜುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ದುಷ್ಟರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರುವ ನಾಶನಕ್ಕೂ ನೀನು ಭಯಪಡದಿರುವೆ.
Be not thou afraid of sudden dread, nor of the desolation of the lawless, when it cometh.
26 ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರೇ ನಿನಗೆ ಭರವಸೆ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ನಿನ್ನ ಪಾದವು ಉರುಲಿಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕದಂತೆ ಅವರು ಕಾಪಾಡುವರು.
For, Yahweh, will be in all thy ways, and will keep thy foot from the snare.
27 ನಿನಗೆ ಶಕ್ತಿಯಿರುವಾಗಲೇ ಇತರರಿಗೆ ಉಪಕಾರಮಾಡು ಒಳಿತು ಮಾಡುವುದನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡ.
Withhold not good from them who ask it, when it is in power of thy hand to do it:
28 ಕೊಡತಕ್ಕದ್ದು ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ನಿನ್ನಲ್ಲಿರುವಾಗ, “ಹೋಗಿ ಬಾ, ನಾಳೆ ನಿನಗೆ ಕೊಡುತ್ತೇನೆ,” ಎಂದು ನಿನ್ನ ನೆರೆಯವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಬೇಡ.
Do not say to thy neighbour, Go and come again, and to-morrow I will give, when thou hast it by thee.
29 ನಿನ್ನ ನೆರೆಯವನು ಭರವಸೆಯಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ಪಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ, ಅವನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಕೇಡನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಬೇಡ.
Devise not against thy neighbour an injury, seeing that, he, dwelleth securely by thee.
30 ಒಬ್ಬನು ನಿನಗೆ ಯಾವ ತೊಂದರೆ ಮಾಡದಿದ್ದರೆ, ಅವನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ದೂರು ನುಡಿಯಬೇಡ.
Contend not with a man without cause, if he hath dealt thee no wrong.
31 ಬಲಾತ್ಕಾರಿಯ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀನು ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಕಿಚ್ಚುಪಡಬೇಡ; ಅವನ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದನ್ನೂ ನೀನು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡ.
Do not thou envy the man of violence, neither choose thou any of his ways;
32 ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ವಕ್ರಬುದ್ಧಿ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯ; ಆದರೆ ದೇವರ ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತಿಕೆ ನೀತಿವಂತರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಇದೆ.
For, an abomination to Yahweh, is the tortuous man, but, with the upright, he is intimate.
33 ದುಷ್ಟರ ಮನೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ದೈವಶಾಪವಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ ನೀತಿವಂತರ ನಿವಾಸದ ಮೇಲೆ ದೈವಾಶೀರ್ವಾದವಿರುವುದು.
The curse of Yahweh, is in the house of the lawless one, but, the home of the righteous, he blesseth.
34 ದೇವರು ಗರ್ವಿಷ್ಠ ಪರಿಹಾಸ್ಯಗಾರರನ್ನು ಪರಿಹಾಸ್ಯ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ; ದೀನರಿಗಾದರೋ ದೇವರು ಕೃಪೆಯನ್ನು ಕೊಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.
Though at scoffers he scoffeth, yet, to the humbled, he granteth favour.
35 ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳು ಸನ್ಮಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾಧ್ಯನಾಗುವರು; ಆದರೆ ಜ್ಞಾನಹೀನರ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲವು ಅವಮಾನವೆ.
Honour, shall the wise inherit, —but, as for dullards, shame shall carry them away.
