ಜ್ಞಾನೋಕ್ತಿಗಳು 29
1 ಅನೇಕಬಾರಿ ಗದರಿಸಿದರೂ ತಗ್ಗದ ಹಟಮಾರಿ ಪರಿಹಾರವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಫಕ್ಕನೆ ಮುರಿದು ಬೀಳುವನು.
The man that with a stiff neck despiseth him that reproveth him, shall suddenly be destroyed: and health shall not follow him.
2 ಶಿಷ್ಟರು ಅಧಿಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದರೆ ಜನರು ಹರ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ದುಷ್ಟರು ಆಳಿದರೆ, ಜನರಿಗೆ ನರಳಾಟ.
When just men increase, the people shall rejoice: when the wicked shall bear rule, the people shall mourn.
3 ಜ್ಞಾನಪ್ರಿಯನು ತಂದೆಗೆ ಆನಂದ ಆದರೆ ವೇಶ್ಯೆಯರ ಸಹವಾಸದಿಂದ ಆಸ್ತಿಯ ವಿನಾಶ.
A man that loveth wisdom, rejoiceth his father: but he that maintaineth bar lots, shall squander away his substance.
4 ನ್ಯಾಯದಿಂದ ಅರಸನು ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಿರಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಆದರೆ ಲಂಚಕೋರ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಕೆಡವಿ ಹಾಕುತ್ತಾನೆ.
A just king setteth up the land: a covetous man shall destroy it.
5 ತನ್ನ ನೆರೆಯವನನ್ನು ಸುಮ್ಮನೇ ಹೊಗಳುತ್ತಿರುವವನು, ನೆರೆಯವನ ಕಾಲಿಗೆ ಬಲೆಯನ್ನು ಒಡ್ಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.
A man that speaketh to his friend with flattering and dissembling words, spreadeth a net for his feet.
6 ಕೆಟ್ಟವನು ತನ್ನ ಪಾಪದಿಂದಲೇ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಹಾಕಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಆದರೆ ನೀತಿವಂತನು ಸಂತೋಷದಿಂದ ಹಾಡಿ ಹರ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
A snare shall entangle the wicked man when he sinneth: and the just shall praise and rejoice.
7 ಬಡವರ ನ್ಯಾಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನೀತಿವಂತನು ಚಿಂತಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಆದರೆ ದುಷ್ಟನಿಗೆ ಅಂಥಾ ಚಿಂತೆಯೇ ಇಲ್ಲ.
The just taketh notice of the cause of the poor: the wicked is void of knowledge.
8 ಪರಿಹಾಸ್ಯಗಾರರು ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಲಾಟೆ ಎಬ್ಬಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳು ಕೋಪವನ್ನು ಆರಿಸುವರು.
Corrupt men bring a city to ruin: but wise men turn away wrath.
9 ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯು ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನೊಂದಿಗೆ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯಮಾಡುವಾಗ, ಮೂರ್ಖನು ರೇಗಿದರೂ ಅಪಹಾಸ್ಯಮಾಡಿದರೂ ಸಮಾಧಾನವೇ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
If a wise man contend with a fool, whether he be angry or laugh, he shall find no rest.
10 ಕೊಲೆಪಾತಕರು ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕರನ್ನು ದ್ವೇಷಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ಯಥಾರ್ಥವಂತರನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡಲು ಯತ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
Bloodthirsty men hate the upright: but just men seek his soul.
11 ಮೂಢನು ತನ್ನ ಕೋಪವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸುವನು. ಆದರೆ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯು ಕೋಪವನ್ನು ಶಾಂತಿಯಿಂದ ತಡೆಹಿಡಿಯುತ್ತಾನೆ.
A fool uttereth all his mind: a wise man deferreth, and keepeth it till afterwards.
12 ಒಬ್ಬ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯು ಸುಳ್ಳಿಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಟ್ಟರೆ, ಅವನ ಸೇವಕರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ದುಷ್ಟರಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ.
A prince that gladly heareth lying words, hath all his servants wicked.
13 ಬಡವರಿಗೂ ದಬ್ಬಾಳಿಕೆ ನಡೆಸುವವರಿಗೂ ಒಂದು ಸಂಗತಿ ಹುದುವಾಗಿರುವುದು: ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಳಗಿಸುವರು ಎಂಬುದೇ.
The poor man and the creditor have met one another: the Lord is the enlightener of them both.
14 ಅರಸನು ಬಡವರಿಗೆ ಪಕ್ಷಪಾತವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸಿದರೆ, ಅವನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನವು ಎಂದೆಂದಿಗೂ ಸ್ಥಿರಗೊಳ್ಳುವುದು.
The king that judgeth the poor in truth, his throne shall be established for ever.
15 ಬೆತ್ತ ಮತ್ತು ಬೆದರಿಕೆಗಳು ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನುಂಟುಮಾಡುತ್ತವೆ; ಆದರೆ ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸದೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟ ಹುಡುಗನು ತನ್ನ ತಾಯಿಗೆ ಅವಮಾನವನ್ನು ತರುತ್ತಾನೆ.
The rod and reproof give wisdom: but the child that is left to his own will bringeth his mother to shame.
16 ದುಷ್ಟರು ವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾದಾಗ, ಪಾಪವು ವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದರೆ ನೀತಿವಂತರು ದುಷ್ಟರ ಬೀಳುವಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕಣ್ಣಾರೆ ನೋಡುವರು.
When the wicked are multiplied, crimes shall be multiplied: but the just shall see their downfall.
17 ನಿನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸಿದರೆ, ಅವರು ನಿನಗೆ ಮನಶಾಂತಿಯನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವರು; ಹೌದು, ಅವರು ನೀನು ಬಯಸುವ ಹರ್ಷವನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ತರುವರು.
Instruct thy son, and he shall refresh thee, and shall give delight to thy soul.
18 ದೈವ ಪ್ರಕಟನೆ ಇಲ್ಲದಿರುವಾಗ, ಜನರು ನಾಶವಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಆದರೆ ಜ್ಞಾನೋಪದೇಶವನ್ನು ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳುವವನು ಧನ್ಯನು.
When prophecy shall fail, the people shall be scattered abroad: but he that keepeth the law is blessed.
19 ಮಾತಿನಿಂದ ಮಾತ್ರ ಕೆಲಸಗಾರರನ್ನು ತಿದ್ದಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ; ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವರು ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರೂ, ಅದರಂತೆ ನಡೆಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
A slave will not be corrected by words: because he understandeth what thou sayest, and will not answer.
20 ದುಡುಕಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುವ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ನೀನು ನೋಡಿದ್ದೀಯೋ? ಅಂಥವನಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆ ಇದೆ.
Hast thou seen a man hasty to speak? folly is rather to be looked for, than his amendment.
21 ಬಾಲ್ಯದಿಂದ ಕೆಲಸಗಾರನನ್ನು ಅನುಕೂಲವಾಗಿ ಸಾಕಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟರೆ, ತರುವಾಯ ಅವನು ಎದುರು ಬೀಳಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯ.
He that nourisheth his servant delicately from his childhood, afterwards shall find him stubborn.
22 ಕೋಪಿಷ್ಟನು ಜಗಳವನ್ನೆಬ್ಬಿಸುವನು, ಮುಂಗೋಪಿಯು ಅನೇಕ ಪಾಪಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.
A passionate man provoketh quarrels: and he that is easily stirred up to wrath, shall be more prone to sin.
23 ಗರ್ವವು ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ಹೀನಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೆ ತರುವುದು; ಆದರೆ ಆತ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ ದೀನರು ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುವರು.
Humiliation followeth the proud: and glory shall uphold the humble of spirit.
24 ಕಳ್ಳರ ಸಹವಾಸ ಮಾಡುವವರು ತಮಗೆ ತಾವೇ ಶತ್ರುಗಳು. ಅವರು ಆಣೆ ಇಟ್ಟರೂ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಬದಲಾವಣೆ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
He that is partaker with a thief, hateth his own soul: he heareth one putting him to his oath, and discovereth not.
25 ಖಂಡಿತವಾಗಿಯೂ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಭಯವು ಒಂದು ಉರುಲಾಗಿರುವುದು; ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಲ್ಲಿ ಭರವಸವಿಡುವವನು, ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಹೊಂದುವನು.
He that feareth man, shall quickly fall: he that trusteth in the Lord, shall be set on high.
26 ಅನೇಕರು ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯ ದಯೆಯನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಂದಲೇ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರಿಗೂ ನ್ಯಾಯ ದೊರಕುತ್ತದೆ.
Many seek the face of the prince: but the judgment of every one cometh forth from the Lord.
27 ನೀತಿವಂತರು ಅಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕರನ್ನು ದ್ವೇಷಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ದುಷ್ಟರು ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕರನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
The just abhor the wicked man: and the wicked loathe them that are in the right way. The son that keepeth the word, shall be free from destruction.
