ಜ್ಞಾನೋಕ್ತಿಗಳು 28
1 ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟುವವನು ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೂ ದುಷ್ಟನು ಓಡಿಹೋಗುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಆದರೆ ಸಿಂಹದ ಹಾಗೆ ನೀತಿವಂತರು ಧೈರ್ಯದಿಂದ ಇರುತ್ತಾರೆ.
The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.
2 ದೇಶದ ದಂಗೆಯಿಂದ ಅನೇಕರು ನಾಯಕರಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ಒಳನೋಟ ಹಾಗು ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯ ನಾಯಕನಿಂದಲೇ ದೇಶವು ಸುಸ್ಥಿರವಾಗುವುದು.
For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof: but by men of understanding [and] knowledge the state [thereof] shall be prolonged.
3 ಬಡವರನ್ನು ಹಿಂಸಿಸುವ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯು ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸದಂತೆ ಸುರಿಯುವ ಮಳೆಯಂತಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
A needy man that oppresseth the poor is [like] a sweeping rain which leaveth no food.
4 ಬೋಧನೆಯನ್ನು ತ್ಯಜಿಸುವವರು ದುಷ್ಟರನ್ನು ಹೊಗಳುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಆದರೆ ಬೋಧನೆಯನ್ನು ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳುವವರು ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹೋರಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.
They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them.
5 ನ್ಯಾಯವನ್ನು ದುಷ್ಟರು ಗ್ರಹಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಆದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವವರು ಎಲ್ಲವುಗಳನ್ನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things.
6 ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ತನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ವಕ್ರವಾಗಿರುವವನಿಗಿಂತ ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿಯಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯುವ ದರಿದ್ರನು ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠನು.
Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in [his] ways, though he be rich.
7 ವಿವೇಚನೆಯ ಮಗನು ದೇವರ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳುವನು. ಆದರೆ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಬಾಕರ ಸಂಗಡಿಗನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಅವಮಾನಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
Whoso keepeth the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of gluttonous men shameth his father.
8 ಬಡ್ಡಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ಅನ್ಯಾಯದ ಲಾಭದಿಂದಲೂ ತನ್ನ ಆಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ವೃದ್ಧಿಗೊಳಿಸುವವನು, ಬಡವರ ಮೇಲೆ ದಯೆ ತೋರಿಸುವವನಿಗೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸುವನು.
He that augmenteth his substance by usury and increase, gathereth it for him that hath pity on the poor.
9 ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ಕೇಳದಂತೆ ತನ್ನ ಕಿವಿ ಮುಚ್ಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯ.
He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination.
10 ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕರನ್ನು ದುರ್ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ದಾರಿತಪ್ಪಿಸುವವನು, ತಾನೇ ತೋಡಿದ ಗುಂಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೀಳುವನು. ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿಗಳಾದರೋ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಸೊತ್ತನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುವರು.
Whoso causeth the upright to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit: but the perfect shall inherit good.
11 ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಆದರೆ ವಿವೇಚನೆಯುಳ್ಳ ಬಡವನು ಅವನ ವಂಚನೆಯನ್ನು ನೋಡಬಲ್ಲನು.
The rich man is wise in his own conceit; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out.
12 ನೀತಿವಂತರಿಗೆ ಜಯವಾದರೆ, ದೊಡ್ಡ ಘನತೆ ಇರುವುದು. ಆದರೆ ದುಷ್ಟರಿಗೆ ಏಳಿಗೆಯಾದರೆ, ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಅಡಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
When the righteous triumph, there is great glory: but when the wicked rise, men hide themselves.
13 ತನ್ನ ಪಾಪಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನಿಗೆ ಏಳಿಗೆ ಆಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ಪಾಪಗಳನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡುವವನಿಗೆ ಕರುಣೆ ದೊರಕುವುದು.
He that covereth his transgressions shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall obtain mercy.
14 ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನು ಧನ್ಯನು. ಆದರೆ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನು ಕಠಿಣಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನು ಕೇಡಿಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಬೀಳುವನು.
Happy is the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.
15 ಗರ್ಜಿಸುವ ಸಿಂಹದಂತೆಯೂ ಅಲೆದಾಡುವ ಕರಡಿಯಂತೆಯೂ, ಬಡವರನ್ನು ದುಷ್ಟನು ಆಳುವನು.
[As] a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; [so is] a wicked ruler over a poor people.
16 ಗ್ರಹಿಕೆಯಿಲ್ಲದ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯು ಮಹಾ ಸುಲಿಗೆಗಾರನು. ಆದರೆ ಲೋಭವನ್ನು ಹಗೆಮಾಡುವವನು ದೀರ್ಘಾಯುಷ್ಯನು.
The prince that lacketh understanding is also a great oppressor: [but] he that hateth covetousness shall prolong his days.
17 ನರಹತ್ಯದ ಅಪರಾಧ ಭಾವನೆಯಿಂದ ಇರುವವನು, ಮರಣದೆಡೆಗೆ ಓಡುತ್ತಿರುವನು, ಅವನನ್ನು ಯಾರೂ ತಡೆಯದಿರಲಿ.
A man that is laden with the blood of any person shall flee unto the pit; let no man stay him.
18 ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿಯಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯುವವನು ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಹೊಂದುವನು. ವಕ್ರಮಾರ್ಗಿಯು ತಟ್ಟನೆ ಬೀಳುವನು.
Whoso walketh uprightly shall be delivered: but he that is perverse in [his] ways shall fall at once.
19 ತನ್ನ ಹೊಲವನ್ನು ವ್ಯವಸಾಯ ಮಾಡುವವನು ಆಹಾರದಿಂದ ತೃಪ್ತಿಹೊಂದುವನು. ಆದರೆ ವ್ಯರ್ಥ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸುವವನಿಗೆ ಸಾಕಾದಷ್ಟು ಬಡತನವು ಇರುವುದು.
He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after vain [persons] shall have poverty enough.
20 ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತನಾದ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತುಂಬಿತುಳುಕುವನು; ಆದರೆ ಧನವಂತನಾಗಲು ಆತುರಪಡುವವನು, ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿಯಾಗಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be unpunished.
21 ಪಕ್ಷಪಾತವು ಸರಿಯಲ್ಲ; ತುತ್ತು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಾಗಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು ದ್ರೋಹ ಮಾಡುವನು.
To have respect of persons is not good: neither that a man should transgress for a piece of bread.
22 ಧನವಂತನಾಗಲು ಆತುರಪಡುವವನು ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಕಣ್ಣುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ತನಗೆ ಬಡತನವು ಬರುವುದನ್ನು ಅವನು ಯೋಚಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
He that hath an evil eye hasteth after riches, and knoweth not that want shall come upon him.
23 ತನ್ನ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯಿಂದ ಮುಖಸ್ತುತಿ ಮಾಡುವವನಿಗಿಂತ, ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸುವವನು ತರುವಾಯ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ದಯಾಪಾತ್ರನಾಗುವನು.
He that rebuketh a man shall afterward find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.
24 ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯಾನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ತಾಯಿಯನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ದೋಚಿಕೊಂಡು, “ಇದು ದೋಷವಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವವನು ಕೆಡುಕನಿಗೆ ಜೊತೆಗಾರನು.
Whoso robbeth his father or his mother, and saith, It is no transgression; the same is the companion of a destroyer.
25 ದುರಾಶೆಯುಳ್ಳವನು ಕಲಹವನ್ನೆಬ್ಬಿಸುವನು; ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಲ್ಲಿ ಭರವಸವಿಡುವವನು ಪುಷ್ಟನಾಗುವನು.
He that is of a greedy spirit stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.
26 ತನ್ನ ಬುದ್ಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಭರವಸವಿಡುವವನು ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನು; ಆದರೆ ಜ್ಞಾನದಿಂದ ನಡೆಯುವವನು ಉದ್ಧಾರ ಹೊಂದುವನು.
He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
27 ಬಡವರಿಗೆ ದಾನ ಮಾಡುವವನು, ಕೊರತೆ ಪಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಆದರೆ ತನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನಿಗೆ ಅನೇಕ ಶಾಪಗಳು.
He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse.
28 ದುಷ್ಟರು ಎದ್ದರೆ ಜನರು ಅಡಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ನಾಶವಾದಾಗ ನೀತಿವಂತರು ವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ.
When the wicked rise, men hide themselves: but when they perish, the righteous increase.
