ಜ್ಞಾನೋಕ್ತಿಗಳು 21
1 ಅರಸನ ಹೃದಯವು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೀರಿನ ಕಾಲುವೆಗಳಂತೆ; ತನಗೆ ಇಷ್ಟವಾದ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಆತನು ಅದನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
[Like] channels of water, is the heart of a king, in the hand of Yahweh, —whithersoever he will, he turneth it.
2 ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಮಾರ್ಗವು ಅವನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿದೆ; ಆದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೃದಯಗಳನ್ನು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
Every way of a man, may be right in his own eyes, but, he that testeth hearts, is Yahweh.
3 ಯಜ್ಞಕ್ಕಿಂತ ನೀತಿ ನ್ಯಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ನಡೆಸುವುದು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಗೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.
To do righteousness and justice, is more choice to Yahweh than sacrifice.
4 ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ದೃಷ್ಟಿ, ಗರ್ವದ ಹೃದಯ, ದುಷ್ಟರ ಉಳುವಿಕೆ ಇವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಪಾಪವೇ.
Loftiness of eyes, and ambition of heart—the lamp of the lawless, are sin.
5 ಶ್ರದ್ಧೆಯುಳ್ಳವನ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳಿಂದ ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿ; ಆತುರತೆಯು ಬಡತನಕ್ಕೆ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತದೆ.
The plans of the diligent, tend only to abundance, but, of every one that is urgent, only to want.
6 ಸುಳ್ಳಿನ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯಿಂದ ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಿದ ಸಂಪತ್ತು ಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಆವಿಯಂತೆಯೂ ಮೃತ್ಯುಪಾಶದಂತೆಯೂ ಆಗಿದೆ.
The gaining of treasures with a tongue of falsehood, is a vapour driven away, [they who seek them] seek death,
7 ದುಷ್ಟರ ಹಿಂಸೆಯು ಅವರನ್ನು ನಾಶಪಡಿಸುವುದು; ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನ್ಯಾಯವಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವುದನ್ನು ಅವರು ನಿರಾಕರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
The violence of the lawless, shall drag them away, —because they have refused to do justice.
8 ದೋಷಿಯ ಮಾರ್ಗವು ಡೊಂಕು, ಮುಗ್ಧನ ನಡತೆ ಯಥಾರ್ಥ.
Crooked is the way of a guilty man, but, as for the pure, straight is his dealing.
9 ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜಗಳಗಂಟಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಇರುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ, ಮಾಳಿಗೆಯ ಒಂದು ಮೂಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುವುದು ಲೇಸು.
Better to dwell on the corner of the roof, than a quarrelsome wife, and a house in common.
10 ದುಷ್ಟರು ಕೇಡನ್ನು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ನೆರೆಯವನಿಗೂ ಯಾವ ದಯೆಯನ್ನೂ ತೋರಿಸನು.
The soul of the lawless man, craveth mischief, his own friend, findeth no favour in his eyes.
11 ಪರಿಹಾಸ್ಯಕಾರರನ್ನು ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸಿದರೆ, ಮುಗ್ಧರು ಜ್ಞಾನವಂತರಾಗುವರು; ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯು ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಹೊಂದಿದರೆ, ಅವನು ಪರಿಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದುತ್ತಾನೆ.
When the scoffer is punished, the simple, becometh wise, when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.
12 ನೀತಿವಂತನು ದುಷ್ಟರ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ; ದುಷ್ಟರನ್ನು ಕೇಡಿಗೆ ತಳ್ಳುವನು.
The Righteous One observeth the house of the lawless, —He is ready to cast down lawless men into misfortune.
13 ಬಡವರ ಕೂಗಿಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಕಿವಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನು ತಾನೇ ಕೂಗಿದಾಗ ಯಾರೂ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
He that shutteth his ear from the cry of the poor, even he, shall call, and not be answered.
14 ಗುಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಕೊಡುವ ಬಹುಮಾನವು ಕೋಪವನ್ನು ಅಡಗಿಸುವುದು; ಮಡಿಲಲ್ಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟ ಲಂಚವು ಮಹಾ ಕೋಪವನ್ನು ಆರಿಸುವುದು.
A gift in secret, quencheth anger, and, a present in the bosom, mighty wrath.
15 ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸುವುದು ನೀತಿವಂತರಿಗೆ ಸಂತೋಷ; ಆದರೆ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವವರಿಗೆ ಭೀತಿ.
It is a joy, to a righteous man, to do justice, but, dismay, to the workers of iniquity.
16 ವಿವೇಕದ ಹಾದಿಯಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನು ಸತ್ತವರ ಸಹವಾಸದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತಿ ಪಡೆಯುವನು.
The man who wandereth from the way of discretion, in the gathered host of the shades, shall settle down.
17 ಭೋಗಾಸಕ್ತನು ಕೊರತೆಪಡುವನು; ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವನ್ನೂ, ತೈಲವನ್ನೂ ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸುವವನು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಧನವಂತನಾಗನು.
A needy man, shall he be that loveth merriment, the lover of wine and oil, shall not become rich.
18 ದುಷ್ಟರು ನೀತಿವಂತರಿಗೂ, ದ್ರೋಹಿಗಳು ಸನ್ಮಾರ್ಗಿಗಳಿಗೂ ಈಡಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
A ransom for the righteous, is the lawless, and, instead of upright men, the traitor.
19 ಕಾಡುವ ಜಗಳಗಂಟಿ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ವಾಸಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ, ಮರಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುವುದು ಲೇಸು.
Better to dwell in a desert land, than with a woman, quarrelsome and provoking.
20 ಜ್ಞಾನವಂತರ ನಿವಾಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯ್ದ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವೂ, ಎಣ್ಣೆಯೂ ಇರುತ್ತವೆ; ಆದರೆ ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನು ಇದ್ದದ್ದೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನು ನುಂಗಿಬಿಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.
Desirable treasure and oil, are in the home of the wise, but, a man who is a dullard, will destroy it.
21 ನೀತಿಯನ್ನೂ, ಕರುಣೆಯನ್ನೂ ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸುವವನು ಜೀವವನ್ನೂ, ನೀತಿಯನ್ನೂ, ಕೀರ್ತಿಯನ್ನೂ ಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾನೆ.
He that pursueth righteousness and lovingkindness, shall find life, righteousness and honour.
22 ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯು ಬಲಿಷ್ಠರ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿ, ಅವರು ಭರವಸವಿಟ್ಟ ಬಲವಾದ ಕೋಟೆಯನ್ನು ಕೆಡವಿ ಹಾಕುತ್ತಾನೆ.
A city of heroes, doth a wise man scale, and bringeth down the strength of its confidence.
23 ತನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿಯನ್ನೂ, ನಾಲಿಗೆಯನ್ನೂ ಕಾಯುವವನು, ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟುಗಳಿಂದ ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾನೆ.
He that keepeth his mouth and his tongue, keepeth, out of distresses, his soul.
24 ಸೊಕ್ಕೇರಿ ಗರ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ವರ್ತಿಸುವವನ ಹೆಸರು ಅಹಂಕಾರಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಹಾಸ್ಯಕ.
A haughty insolent one—Scoffer is his name, is he that acteth in a transport of pride.
25 ಸೋಮಾರಿಯ ಆಸೆಯು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುತ್ತದೆ; ಅವನ ಕೈಗಳು ದುಡಿಯುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿರಾಕರಿಸುತ್ತವೆ.
The craving of the sluggard, killeth him, for his hands have refused to work.
26 ದಿನವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅವನು ದುರಾಶೆಯಿಂದ ಆಶಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಆದರೆ ನೀತಿವಂತನು ಹಿಂತೆಗೆಯದೇ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.
All the day, he greatly craveth, whereas, the righteous, giveth, and doth not spare.
27 ದುಷ್ಟರ ಯಜ್ಞವು ಅಸಹ್ಯ; ಅದನ್ನು ದುರ್ಬುದ್ಧಿಯಿಂದ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರೆ, ಇನ್ನೂ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಅಸಹ್ಯಕರ.
The sacrifice of the lawless, is an abomination, how much more, when, with wickedness, he bringeth it in!
28 ಸುಳ್ಳುಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯವನು ನಾಶವಾಗುವನು; ಆದರೆ ಕೇಳಿದ್ದನ್ನೇ ನುಡಿಯುವವನ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಸದಾ ನಿಲ್ಲುವುದು.
A false witness, shall perish, but, the man who hearkeneth, with abiding effect, shall speak.
29 ದುಷ್ಟನು ತನ್ನ ಮುಖವನ್ನು ಕಠಿಣ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಯಥಾರ್ಥವಂತನಾದರೋ ತನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳನ್ನು ಯೋಚಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
A lawless man emboldeneth his face, but, as for the upright, he, directeth his ways.
30 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಯಾವ ಜ್ಞಾನವೂ, ವಿವೇಕವೂ, ಯೋಜನೆಯೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.
There is no wisdom, nor understanding, nor counsel, to confront Yahweh.
31 ಯುದ್ಧದ ದಿನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕುದುರೆಯು ಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ; ಆದರೆ ಜಯ ದೊರೆಯುವುದು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಂದಲೇ.
The horse, is prepared for the day of battle, but, to Yahweh, pertaineth the victory.
