ಜ್ಞಾನೋಕ್ತಿಗಳು 14
1 ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯಾದ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟುತ್ತಾಳೆ; ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನಳೋ ತನ್ನ ಕೈಗಳಿಂದಲೇ ಅದನ್ನು ಕಿತ್ತುಹಾಕುತ್ತಾಳೆ.
Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her own hands.
2 ತನ್ನ ಯಥಾರ್ಥತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವವನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಡುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಆದರೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸುವವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮೋಸ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾರೆ.
He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the LORD: but he that is perverse in his ways despiseth him.
3 ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನ ಬಾಯಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಗರ್ವದ ಅಂಕುರವಿದೆ, ಆದರೆ ಜ್ಞಾನವಂತರ ತುಟಿಗಳು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡುವುವು.
In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.
4 ಎತ್ತುಗಳು ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಇರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಗೋದಲಿಯು ಶುಚಿಯಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ, ಆದರೆ ಎತ್ತಿನ ಬಲದಿಂದಲೇ ಬೆಳೆಯು ಹೇರಳವಾಗಿ ವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.
5 ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯು ಸುಳ್ಳಾಡನು, ಆದರೆ ಸುಳ್ಳುಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯು ಅಸತ್ಯವನ್ನೇ ಆಡುವನು.
A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness uttereth lies.
6 ಅಪಹಾಸ್ಯ ಮಾಡುವವನು ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿದರೂ ಅದನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಆದರೆ ವಿವೇಚಿಸುವವನಿಗೆ ಜ್ಞಾನವು ಸುಲಭವಾಗಿದೆ.
A scorner seeketh wisdom, and [findeth it] not: but knowledge is easy unto him that hath understanding.
7 ನೀನು ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನ ತುಟಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪರಿಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಕಾಣದೆ ಹೋದರೆ, ಅವನ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಹೋಗು.
Go into the presence of a foolish man, and thou shalt not perceive [in him] the lips of knowledge.
8 ಜಾಣನ ಜ್ಞಾನವು ತನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳಿಗೆ ಆಲೋಚನೆ ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಮೂಢರ ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನತೆಯು ಮೋಸಕರ.
The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.
9 ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನರು ಪಾಪಪರಿಹಾರವನ್ನು ಅಪಹಾಸ್ಯ ಮಾಡುವರು, ಆದರೆ ನೀತಿವಂತರಿಗೆ ದಯೆಯಿದೆ.
The foolish make a mock at guilt: but among the upright there is good will.
10 ಹೃದಯಕ್ಕೆ ತನ್ನ ವ್ಯಥೆಯು ಗೊತ್ತು; ಪರನು ಅದರ ಸಂತೋಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
The heart knoweth its own bitterness; and a stranger doth not intermeddle with its joy.
11 ದುಷ್ಟರ ಮನೆಯು ನಾಶವಾಗುವುದು, ಆದರೆ ಯಥಾರ್ಥವಂತರ ಗುಡಾರವು ಏಳಿಗೆಯಾಗುವುದು.
The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tent of the upright shall flourish.
12 ಮನುಷ್ಯ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ಸರಿ ತೋರುವ ಒಂದು ಮಾರ್ಗವಿದೆ, ಆದರೆ ಅದರ ಅಂತ್ಯವು ಮರಣದ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳೇ.
There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
13 ನಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಹೃದಯವು ದುಃಖದಿಂದ ಇರುವುದು, ಅದರ ಉಲ್ಲಾಸದ ಅಂತ್ಯವು ಸಂತಾಪವೇ.
Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of mirth is heaviness.
14 ಭ್ರಷ್ಟನು ತನ್ನ ದುಷ್ಕರ್ಮಗಳಿಂದ ದಣಿಯನು, ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವನು ತನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ತಾನೇ ತೃಪ್ತಿಹೊಂದುವನು.
The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man [shall be satisfied] from himself.
15 ಅರಿವಿಲ್ಲದವರು ಯಾವ ಮಾತನ್ನಾದರೂ ನಂಬುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಜಾಣನು ತನ್ನ ನಡತೆಯನ್ನು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಗಮನಿಸುವನು.
The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.
16 ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟು ಕೆಟ್ಟತನದಿಂದ ದೂರ ಹೋಗುವನು, ಆದರೆ ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನು ಯೋಚಿಸದೆ ಆತ್ಮವಿಶ್ವಾಸದಿಂದ ನಡೆಯುವನು.
A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool beareth himself insolently, and is confident.
17 ಮುಂಗೋಪಿಯು ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನಾಗಿ ವರ್ತಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಜನರು ಕುಯುಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳವನನ್ನು ಹಗೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.
He that is soon angry will deal foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated.
18 ಅರಿವಿಲ್ಲದವರು ಮೂರ್ಖತನಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾಧ್ಯರಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಆದರೆ ಜಾಣರು ಪರಿಜ್ಞಾನದಿಂದ ಆವರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
The simple inherit folly: but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
19 ದುಷ್ಟರು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವರಿಗೆ ಬಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ, ದುಷ್ಟರು ನೀತಿವಂತರ ದ್ವಾರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಡ್ಡ ಬೀಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
The evil bow before the good; and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
20 ಬಡವನು ಅವನ ನೆರೆಯವನಿಂದಲೇ ಕಡೆಗಣಿಸಲಾಗುವನು; ಆದರೆ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನಿಗೆ ಬಹುಜನ ಮಿತ್ರರು.
The poor is hated even of his own neighbour: but the rich hath many friends.
21 ತನ್ನ ನೆರೆಯವನನ್ನು ಅವಮಾನ ಮಾಡುವವನು ಪಾಪಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಬಡವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಕನಿಕರ ತೋರಿಸುವವನು ಧನ್ಯನು.
He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath pity on the poor, happy is he.
22 ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಪಿಸುವವರು ದಾರಿ ತಪ್ಪುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೇ? ಆದರೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಪಿಸುವವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಸತ್ಯತೆಯು ಇರುವುವು.
Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth [shall be to] them that devise good.
23 ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರಯಾಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಲಾಭವಿದೆ, ಹರಟೆ ಮಾತು ಬಡತನಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ದಾರಿ.
In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips [tendeth] only to penury.
24 ಜ್ಞಾನವಂತರ ಕಿರೀಟವೇ ಅವರ ಸಂಪತ್ತು, ಆದರೆ ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನರ ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನತೆಯು ಅವರ ಮೂರ್ಖತನವನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ.
The crown of the wise is their riches: [but] the folly of fools is [only] folly.
25 ಸತ್ಯಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯು ಪ್ರಾಣಗಳನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಸುಳ್ಳುಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯು ಮೋಸಗಾರನು.
A true witness delivereth souls: but he that uttereth lies [causeth] deceit.
26 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಡುವವನು ಭದ್ರಕೋಟೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಆತನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಆಶ್ರಯವು ಇರುವುದು.
In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.
27 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಭಯವು ಜೀವದ ಬುಗ್ಗೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಅದು ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ಮರಣದ ಪಾಶಗಳಿಂದ ತಿರುಗಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
28 ಜನಸಮೂಹದಲ್ಲಿ ಅರಸನ ಘನತೆ ಇದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಜನರ ಕೊರತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಜಪುತ್ರನ ನಾಶ.
In the multitude of people is the king’s glory: but in the want of people is the destruction of the prince.
29 ತಾಳ್ಮೆಯುಳ್ಳವನು ಬಹು ವಿವೇಕಿ, ಮುಂಗೋಪಿಯು ಮೂರ್ಖತನವನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿಹಿಡಿಯುವನು.
He that is slow to anger is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.
30 ಶಾಂತ ಹೃದಯವು ದೇಹಕ್ಕೆ ಜೀವ; ಆದರೆ ಮತ್ಸರವು ಎಲುಬುಗಳಿಗೆ ಕ್ಷಯ.
A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy is the rottenness of the bones.
31 ಬಡವರನ್ನು ಹಿಂಸಿಸುವವನು, ತನ್ನ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ಹೀನೈಸುವನು, ಆದರೆ ಬಡವರನ್ನು ಕನಿಕರಿಸುವವನು ದೇವರನ್ನು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸುವನು.
He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that hath mercy on the needy honoureth him.
32 ದುಷ್ಟನು ತನ್ನ ಆಪತ್ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಳಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಆದರೆ ನೀತಿವಂತನಿಗೆ ಮರಣದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಆಶ್ರಯ ಇದೆ.
The wicked is thrust down in his evil-doing: but the righteous hath hope in his death.
33 ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯುಳ್ಳವನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಜ್ಞಾನವು ನೆಲೆಯಾಗಿದೆ, ಆದರೆ ಮೂರ್ಖರಲ್ಲಿ ಜ್ಞಾನವು ಕಂಡುಬರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but [that which is] in the inward part of fools is made known.
34 ನೀತಿಯು ಜನಾಂಗವನ್ನು ವೃದ್ಧಿಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ; ಆದರೆ ಯಾವ ಪ್ರಜೆಗಾದರೂ ಪಾಪವು ಅವಮಾನವಾಗಿದೆ.
Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.
35 ಜ್ಞಾನವುಳ್ಳ ಸೇವಕನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಅರಸನ ದಯೆ ಇದೆ; ಆದರೆ ಮಾನಗೇಡಿ ಸೇವಕನ ಮೇಲೆ ಅರಸನ ಕೋಪ ಎರಗುತ್ತದೆ.
The king’s favour is toward a servant that dealeth wisely: but his wrath shall be [against] him that causeth shame.
