ಜ್ಞಾನೋಕ್ತಿಗಳು 13
1 ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯಾದ ಮಗನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಉಪದೇಶವನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಆದರೆ ಅಪಹಾಸ್ಯ ಮಾಡುವವನು ಗದರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
A wise son — the instruction of a father, And a scorner — he hath not heard rebuke.
2 ತನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿಯ ಫಲದಿಂದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠವಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ಆನಂದಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಆದರೆ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸದ್ರೋಹಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಹಿಂಸೆಯ ಹಸಿವು ಇರುತ್ತದೆ.
From the fruit of the mouth a man eateth good, And the soul of the treacherous — violence.
3 ತನ್ನ ಬಾಯನ್ನು ಕಾಯುವವನು ಜೀವವನ್ನು ಕಾಯುತ್ತಾನೆ; ತನ್ನ ತುಟಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹತೋಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿಡದವನು ನಾಶವಾಗುವನು.
Whoso is keeping his mouth, is keeping his soul, Whoso is opening wide his lips — ruin to him!
4 ಸೋಮಾರಿಯ ಹಸಿವು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ತುಂಬುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಆದರೆ ಶ್ರಮಪಡುವವರ ಆಸೆಗಳು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಈಡೇರುವವು.
The soul of the slothful is desiring, and hath not. And the soul of the diligent is made fat.
5 ನೀತಿವಂತನು ಸುಳ್ಳನ್ನು ಹಗೆಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಆದರೆ ದುಷ್ಟರು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಾವೇ ದುರ್ವಾಸನೆಗೊಳಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ ಮತ್ತು ತಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವಮಾನವನ್ನು ತಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
A false word the righteous hateth, And the wicked causeth abhorrence, and is confounded.
6 ನೀತಿಯು ಯಥಾರ್ಥವಂತನನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡುತ್ತದೆ; ಆದರೆ ದುಷ್ಟತನವು ಪಾಪಿಯನ್ನು ಕೆಡವುತ್ತದೆ.
Righteousness keepeth him who is perfect in the way, And wickedness overthroweth a sin offering.
7 ಬಡವನಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನಾಗಿ ನಟಿಸುವವನು ಇದ್ದಾನೆ; ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನು ದರಿದ್ರನಾಗಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿದರೂ ಬಹು ಸಿರಿವಂತನೇ.
There is who is making himself rich, and hath nothing, Who is making himself poor, and wealth [is] abundant.
8 ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನ ಪ್ರಾಣದ ವಿಮೋಚನೆಯು ಅವನ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯದಿಂದಲೇ; ಆದರೆ ಬಡವನು ಬೆದರಿಕೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ.
The ransom of a man's life [are] his riches, And the poor hath not heard rebuke.
9 ನೀತಿವಂತರ ಬೆಳಕು ಪ್ರಕಾಶಮಾನವಾಗಿ ಹೊಳೆಯುತ್ತದೆ; ದುಷ್ಟರ ದೀಪವು ಆರಿಹೋಗುವುದು.
The light of the righteous rejoiceth, And the lamp of the wicked is extinguished.
10 ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಗರ್ವವೋ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕಲಹ; ಆದರೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಸಲಹೆಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವವರಲ್ಲಿ ಜ್ಞಾನವು ಕಂಡುಬರುತ್ತದೆ.
A vain man through pride causeth debate, And with the counselled [is] wisdom.
11 ಅಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕವಾಗಿ ಹೊಂದಿದ ಸಂಪತ್ತು ಕ್ಷಯಿಸುವುದು; ಪ್ರಯಾಸದಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿಸಿದ ಸಂಪತ್ತು ವೃದ್ಧಿಗೊಳ್ಳುವುದು.
Wealth from vanity becometh little, And whoso is gathering by the hand becometh great.
12 ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆ ತಡವಾದರೆ ಹೃದಯವು ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ; ಆಶೆಯು ಈಡೇರಿದರೆ, ಅದು ಜೀವಕರವಾದ ವೃಕ್ಷವು.
Hope prolonged is making the heart sick, And a tree of life [is] the coming desire.
13 ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಉಲ್ಲಂಘಿಸುವವನು ನಾಶವಾಗುವನು; ಆಜ್ಞೆಗೆ ಭಯಪಡುವವನು ಪ್ರತಿಫಲ ಹೊಂದುವನು.
Whoso is despising the Word is destroyed for it, And whoso is fearing the Command is repayed.
14 ಮರಣದ ಪಾಶಗಳಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಜ್ಞಾನವಂತರ ಉಪದೇಶವು ಜೀವದ ಬುಗ್ಗೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.
The law of the wise [is] a fountain of life, To turn aside from snares of death.
15 ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆ ಇರುವ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ; ಆದರೆ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸದ್ರೋಹಿಯ ಮಾರ್ಗವು ನಾಶಕರವಾಗಿದೆ.
Good understanding giveth grace, And the way of the treacherous [is] hard.
16 ಪ್ರತಿ ಜಾಣನು ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ವರ್ತಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಆದರೆ ಮೂರ್ಖನು ತನ್ನ ಮೂರ್ಖತ್ವವನ್ನು ಹೊರಗೆಡವುತ್ತಾನೆ.
Every prudent one dealeth with knowledge, And a fool spreadeth out folly.
17 ದುಷ್ಟ ದೂತನು ಕೇಡಿಗೆ ಬೀಳುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಆದರೆ ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತನಾದ ರಾಯಭಾರಿಯು ಆರೋಗ್ಯದಾಯಕನು.
A wicked messenger falleth into evil, And a faithful ambassador is healing.
18 ಬೋಧನೆಯನ್ನು ಕಡೆಗಣಿಸುವವನಿಗೆ ಬಡತನವೂ, ಅವಮಾನವೂ ಬರುವುವು; ಗದರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸುವವನು ಸನ್ಮಾನ ಹೊಂದುವನು.
Whoso is refusing instruction — poverty and shame, And whoso is observing reproof is honoured.
19 ಕನಸುಗಳು ನನಸಾಗುವುದನ್ನು ನೋಡುವುದು ಆಹ್ಲಾದಕರವಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ; ಕೆಟ್ಟತನದಿಂದ ತಿರುಗುವುದು ಮೂರ್ಖರಿಗೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ.
A desire accomplished is sweet to the soul, And an abomination to fools [is]: Turn from evil.
20 ಜ್ಞಾನವಂತರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ನಡೆಯುವವನು ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯಾಗುವನು; ಆದರೆ ಮೂರ್ಖರ ಜೊತೆಗಾರನು ಸಂಕಟಪಡುವನು.
Whoso is walking with wise men is wise, And a companion of fools suffereth evil.
21 ವಿಪತ್ತು ಪಾಪಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸುತ್ತದೆ; ಆದರೆ ನೀತಿವಂತರಿಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದು ಪ್ರತಿಫಲವಾಗುವುದು.
Evil pursueth sinners, And good recompenseth the righteous.
22 ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವನು ಮೊಮ್ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಆಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡುವನು; ಆದರೆ ಪಾಪಿಯ ಸಂಪತ್ತು ನೀತಿವಂತರಿಗಾಗಿ ಸಂಗ್ರಹವಾಗಿದೆ.
A good man causeth sons' sons to inherit, And laid up for the righteous [is] the sinner's wealth.
23 ಬಡವರಿಗೆ ಜವುಳು ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಬಹು ಬೆಳೆಯು ಸಿಕ್ಕುತ್ತದೆ; ಅನ್ಯಾಯವು ಅದನ್ನು ಹಾರಿಸಿಬಿಡುವುದು.
Abundance of food — the tillage of the poor, And substance is consumed without judgment.
24 ಬೆತ್ತವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿಯದವನು ತನ್ನ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹಗೆಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಆದರೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುವವನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಶಿಸ್ತು ಮಾಡಲು ಜಾಗರೂಕರಾಗಿರುತ್ತಾನೆ.
Whoso is sparing his rod is hating his son, And whoso is loving him hath hastened him chastisement.
25 ನೀತಿವಂತನು ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವು ತೃಪ್ತಿಯಾಗುವವರೆಗೆ ತಿನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ; ದುಷ್ಟರ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಗೆ ಕೊರತೆಯಾಗುವುದು.
The righteous is eating to the satiety of his soul, And the belly of the wicked lacketh!
