ಜ್ಞಾನೋಕ್ತಿಗಳು 10
1 ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನ ಜ್ಞಾನೋಕ್ತಿಗಳು: ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯಾದ ಮಗನು ತಂದೆಗೆ ಸಂತೋಷವನ್ನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಅಜ್ಞಾನಿಯಾದ ಮಗನಾದರೋ ತನ್ನ ತಾಯಿಗೆ ಶೋಕವನ್ನುಂಟು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.
The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son [is] the heaviness of his mother.
2 ಅನ್ಯಾಯದ ಸಂಪತ್ತುಗಳು ಶಾಶ್ವತವಲ್ಲ, ಆದರೆ ನೀತಿಯು ಮರಣದಿಂದ ಬಿಡಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.
3 ನೀತಿವಂತನನ್ನು ಹಸಿವೆಯಿಂದ ಬಳಲುವಂತೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಬಿಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಆದರೆ ದುಷ್ಟರ ಆಶೆಯನ್ನು ಅವರು ಭಂಗಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.
4 ಆಲಸ್ಯದ ಕೈ ದರಿದ್ರನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡುವದು; ಆದರೆ ಚುರುಕಾದ ಕೈ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವನ್ನುಂಟು ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ.
He becometh poor that dealeth [with] a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
5 ಬೇಸಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಫಸಲನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸುವವರು ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತ ಮಕ್ಕಳು, ಸುಗ್ಗಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿದ್ರೆ ಮಾಡುವವರು ನಾಚಿಕೆಗೆಟ್ಟ ಮಕ್ಕಳು.
He that gathereth in summer [is] a wise son: [but] he that sleepeth in harvest [is] a son that causeth shame.
6 ನೀತಿವಂತರ ತಲೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದವಿದೆ; ಆದರೆ ದುಷ್ಟರ ಬಾಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರೌರ್ಯ ಅಡಗಿದೆ.
Blessings [are] upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
7 ನೀತಿವಂತರ ಸ್ಮರಣೆಯು ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದಕ್ಕೆ ಆಸ್ಪದ; ಆದರೆ ದುಷ್ಟನ ಹೆಸರು ಕೊಳೆಯುವುದು.
The memory of the just [is] blessed: but the name of the wicked shall perish.
8 ಜ್ಞಾನ ಹೃದಯದವರು ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸುವರು; ಆದರೆ ಹರಟೆಯ ಮೂರ್ಖನು ಬೀಳುವನು.
The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.
9 ಯಥಾರ್ಥ ನಡತೆಯವರು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ಜೀವಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಆದರೆ ವಕ್ರಮಾರ್ಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವವನು ಬಯಲಿಗೆ ಬರುವನು.
He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.
10 ದುರುದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಕಣ್ಣು ಮಿಟಕಿಸುವವನು ದುಃಖವನ್ನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಆದರೆ ಹರಟೆಯ ಮೂರ್ಖನು ಬೀಳುವನು.
He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow: but a prating fool shall fall.
11 ನೀತಿವಂತನ ಬಾಯಿಯು ಜೀವದ ಬುಗ್ಗೆ; ಆದರೆ ದುಷ್ಟನ ಬಾಯಿ ಹಿಂಸೆಯನ್ನು ಮರೆಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ.
The mouth of a righteous [man is] a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
12 ದ್ವೇಷವು ಜಗಳಗಳನ್ನು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸುತ್ತದೆ; ಆದರೆ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪಾಪಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚುತ್ತದೆ.
Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.
13 ವಿವೇಕವುಳ್ಳ ತುಟಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಜ್ಞಾನವು ಸಿಕ್ಕುತ್ತದೆ; ವಿವೇಕವಿಲ್ಲದವನ ಬೆನ್ನಿಗೆ ಬೆತ್ತವೇ ಸರಿ.
In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod [is] for the back of him that is void of understanding.
14 ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳು ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಆದರೆ ಮೂರ್ಖನ ಬಾಯಿ ವಿನಾಶವನ್ನು ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
Wise [men] lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish [is] near destruction.
15 ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತರಿಗೆ ಸಂಪತ್ತೇ ಅವರ ಬಲವಾದ ಕೋಟೆ; ಆದರೆ, ಬಡತನವೇ ಬಡವರ ನಾಶನಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣ.
The rich man's wealth [is] his strong city: the destruction of the poor [is] their poverty.
16 ನೀತಿವಂತರ ದುಡಿತವು ಜೀವವಾಗುವುದು; ಆದರೆ, ದುಷ್ಟರ ಆದಾಯವು ಪಾಪ ಹಾಗು ಮರಣ.
The labor of the righteous [tendeth] to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.
17 ಶಿಸ್ತನ್ನು ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳುವವನು ಜೀವದ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುವನು; ಆದರೆ ತಿದ್ದುಪಾಟನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸುವವನು ಇತರರ ದಾರಿತಪ್ಪಿಸುವನು.
He [is in] the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth.
18 ದ್ವೇಷವನ್ನು ಮರೆಮಾಚುವವನು ಸುಳ್ಳುಗಾರ ಮತ್ತು ಚಾಡಿ ಹೇಳುವವನು ಮೂರ್ಖನು.
He that hideth hatred [with] lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, [is] a fool.
19 ಅತಿಯಾದ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಂದ ಪಾಪವು ಕೊನೆಗೊಳ್ಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ಜ್ಞಾನವಂತನು ತನ್ನ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ತಡೆಯುವನು.
In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that restraineth his lips [is] wise.
20 ನೀತಿವಂತರ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯು ಚೊಕ್ಕಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯಂತಿದೆ; ದುಷ್ಟರ ಹೃದಯವು ಬೆಲೆಯಿಲ್ಲದ್ದು.
The tongue of the just [is as] choice silver: the heart of the wicked [is] little worth.
21 ನೀತಿವಂತರ ತುಟಿಗಳು ಅನೇಕರನ್ನು ಪೋಷಿಸುತ್ತವೆ, ಜ್ಞಾನದ ಕೊರತೆಯಿಂದ ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನರು ಸಾಯುತ್ತಾರೆ.
The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.
22 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದವು ಸಂಪತ್ತನ್ನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡುವುದು; ಅವರು ಅದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಯಾವ ದುಃಖವನ್ನೂ ಸೇರಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.
23 ಮೂರ್ಖನಿಗೆ ಕೇಡು ಮಾಡುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ಆನಂದ; ಆದರೆ ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯು ಜ್ಞಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂತೋಷಪಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.
[It is] as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom.
24 ದುಷ್ಟನ ಭೀತಿಯೇ ಅವನನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಿಕ್ಕುವುದು; ಆದರೆ ನೀತಿವಂತರ ಇಷ್ಟವು ಸಫಲವಾಗುವುದು.
The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.
25 ಬಿರುಗಾಳಿಯು ಬೀಸಿದರೆ, ದುಷ್ಟರು ಇಲ್ಲವಾಗುವರು; ಆದರೆ ನೀತಿವಂತರು ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾಗಿ ನಿಲ್ಲುವರು.
As the whirlwind passeth, so [is] the wicked no [more]: but the righteous [is] an everlasting foundation.
26 ಹಲ್ಲುಗಳಿಗೆ ಹುಳಿಯೂ, ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೊಗೆಯೂ ಹೇಗೋ, ಯಜಮಾನನಿಗೆ ಸೋಮಾರಿಯು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಇರುವನು.
As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so [is] the sluggard to them that send him.
27 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಭಯವು ಜೀವನದ ದಿನಗಳನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ; ದುಷ್ಟರ ವರ್ಷಗಳು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಆಗುವವು.
The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
28 ನೀತಿವಂತರ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯು ಆನಂದಕರವಾಗಿರುವುದು; ಆದರೆ ದುಷ್ಟರ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯು ನಾಶವಾಗುವುದು.
The hope of the righteous [shall be] gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.
29 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮಾರ್ಗವು ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಆಶ್ರಯವಾಗಿದೆ; ಆದರೆ ಕೇಡು ಮಾಡುವವರಿಗೆ ಅದು ವಿನಾಶಕರವಾಗಿದೆ.
The way of the LORD [is] strength to the upright: but destruction [shall be] to the workers of iniquity.
30 ನೀತಿವಂತರು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಕದಲುವುದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ; ಆದರೆ ದುಷ್ಟರು ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಲ್ಲುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.
31 ನೀತಿವಂತರ ಬಾಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜ್ಞಾನವು ಫಲಿಸುತ್ತದೆ; ಆದರೆ ಮೂರ್ಖನ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯು ಕತ್ತರಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು.
The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom: but the froward tongue shall be cut out.
32 ಯೋಗ್ಯವಾದದ್ದು ಯಾವುದೆಂದು ನೀತಿವಂತರ ತುಟಿಗಳಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯುವುದು, ಆದರೆ, ದುಷ್ಟರ ಬಾಯಿ ಮೂರ್ಖತನವನ್ನೇ ಹೊರಗೆಡವುದು.
The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked [speaketh] frowardness.
