ಅರಣ್ಯಕಾಂಡ 36
1 ಆಗ ಯೋಸೇಫನ ಪುತ್ರರ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರಾದ ಮನಸ್ಸೆಯ ಮಗನಾಗಿರುವ ಮಾಕೀರನ ಮಗನಾದ ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರು ಮೋಶೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಕುಲನಾಯಕರ ಸಮೀಪಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ,
The family leaders of the clan of Gilead of the tribe of Manasseh went to Moses/me and the other family leaders of the Israeli people.
2 “ಚೀಟುಹಾಕಿ ನಾಡನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ ಸೊತ್ತಾಗಿ ಕೊಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಮ್ಮ ಒಡೆಯನಾದ ನಿನಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದರು. ನಮ್ಮ ಸಹೋದರನಾದ ಚಲ್ಪಹಾದನ ಸೊತ್ತನ್ನು ಅವನ ಪುತ್ರಿಯರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ದೇವರಿಂದ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯಾಗಿತ್ತು.
They said to Moses/me, “Yahweh commanded you, our leader, to apportion the land to the Israeli tribes by throwing (lots/stones that have been marked) to decide [which group would get which area]. Yahweh also commanded you to give the land that belonged to our fellow Israeli Zelophehad to his daughters.
3 ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಬೇರೆ ಗೋತ್ರದವರಿಗೆ ಮದುವೆಯಾದರೆ, ಅವರ ಸೊತ್ತು ಅಂದರೆ, ನಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಸೊತ್ತಿನಿಂದ ಅವರನ್ನು ಮದುವೆಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡ ಗೋತ್ರದವರಿಗೆ ಸೊತ್ತು ಹೋಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದರಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮ ಸೊತ್ತಿನ ಭಾಗ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗಿ ಹೋಗುವುದು.
But if his daughters marry men from the other Israeli tribes, that land will no longer belong to our tribe. People of other tribes will get it. So some of our land will no longer belong to us.
4 ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ ಜೂಬಿಲಿ ವರ್ಷ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅವರ ಸೊತ್ತು ಅವರು ಸೇರಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಗೋತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ. ಹೀಗೆ ಅವರ ಸೊತ್ತು ಅಂದರೆ, ನಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಗೋತ್ರದ ಸೊತ್ತಿನಿಂದ ತೆಗೆಯಲಾಗುವುದು.”
When the Year of Celebration comes, [when all the land that has been bought by someone is returned to its original owners], the land that belonged to Zelophehad will belong to the tribes of the men that his daughters marry. So some of our land, the land that we received from our fathers, will be taken from us, [and we will never own it again].”
5 ಆಗ ಮೋಶೆಯು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯಂತೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿ, “ಯೋಸೇಫನ ಪುತ್ರರ ಗೋತ್ರದವರು ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.
Yahweh told Moses/me what to reply to them, so Moses/I said this to them: “These men from the tribe of Manasseh are right.
6 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಚಲ್ಪಹಾದನ ಪುತ್ರಿಯರ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ ಮಾತು ಏನೆಂದರೆ: ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಬಂದವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮದುವೆಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ, ಆದರೆ ತಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಗೋತ್ರದವರಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಮದುವೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದು.
This is what Yahweh is saying to the daughters of Zelophehad: ‘Each of you may marry anyone you want to, but you must marry only someone from your own tribe.’
7 ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಸೊತ್ತು ಒಂದು ಗೋತ್ರದಿಂದ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಗೋತ್ರದ ಕೈಗೆ ಹೋಗಬಾರದು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು, ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬನು ತನ್ನ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಗೋತ್ರದ ಸೊತ್ತನ್ನು ತಾನೇ ಹೊಂದಿರಬೇಕು.
In that way, the land that belongs to Israelis will not be passed from one tribe to another tribe. Each Israeli will keep the land in the tribe that belonged to his ancestors.
8 ಇದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬನು ತನ್ನ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಸೊತ್ತನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಗೋತ್ರಗಳೊಳಗೆ ಸೊತ್ತನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬ ಪುತ್ರಿಯು ತನ್ನ ಪಿತೃವಿನ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಗೋತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿರುವವನೊಂದಿಗೇ ಮದುವೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು.
A woman who inherits her father’s land may get married, but she must marry someone from her own tribe. In that way, every Israeli will keep the land that belonged to his ancestors.
9 ಒಂದು ಸೊತ್ತು ಒಂದು ಗೋತ್ರದಿಂದ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಗೋತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಹಸ್ತಾಂತರಗೊಳ್ಳಬಾರದು ಆದರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಗೋತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬನು ತನ್ನ ಸೊತ್ತಿಗೆ ತಾನೇ ಹೊಂದಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು,” ಎಂದನು.
The land must not be passed from one tribe to another tribe. Each Israeli tribe must keep the land that it received from its ancestors.”
10 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಚಲ್ಪಹಾದನ ಪುತ್ರಿಯರು ಮಾಡಿದರು.
Zelophehad’s daughters obeyed what Yahweh told Moses/me.
11 ಚಲ್ಪಹಾದನ ಪುತ್ರಿಯರಾದ ಮಹ್ಲಾ, ತಿರ್ಚಾ, ಹೊಗ್ಲಾ, ಮಿಲ್ಕಾ, ನೋವಾ, ತಮ್ಮ ಚಿಕ್ಕಪ್ಪಂದಿರ ಪುತ್ರರನ್ನು ಮದುವೆಯಾದರು.
The five daughters—Mahlah, Tirzah, Hoglah, Milcah and Noah—married their cousins, their father’s relatives.
12 ಯೋಸೇಫನ ಮಗನಾದ ಮನಸ್ಸೆಯ ಪುತ್ರರ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರೊಡನೆ ಮದುವೆಯಾದರು. ಈ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಅವರ ಸೊತ್ತು ತಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃವಿನ ಗೋತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಉಳಿಯಿತು.
The men whom they married were from the tribe of Manasseh, so their land continued to belong to their father’s family and tribe.
13 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಯೆರಿಕೋವಿಗೆದುರಾಗಿ ಯೊರ್ದನಿನ ತೀರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮೋವಾಬಿನ ಬಯಲುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮೋಶೆಯ ಮೂಲಕವಾಗಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳೂ, ನ್ಯಾಯಗಳೂ ಇವೇ.
Those were the commands [DOU] that Yahweh gave to Moses/me to tell to the Israelis, while they/we were on the plains of the Moab region, close to the Jordan River, across from Jericho.
