ಅರಣ್ಯಕಾಂಡ 31
1 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಮೋಶೆಯ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ,
And the LORD said to Moses,
2 “ನೀನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಂದ ಮಿದ್ಯಾನ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಮುಯ್ಯನ್ನು ತೀರಿಸಬೇಕು. ತರುವಾಯ ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಪೂರ್ವಜರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಸೇರಬೇಕು,” ಎಂದರು.
“Take vengeance on the Midianites for the Israelites. After that, you will be gathered to your people.”
3 ಆಗ ಮೋಶೆಯು ಜನರ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, “ನಿಮ್ಮೊಳಗಿಂದ ಜನರು ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ. ಅವರು ಮಿದ್ಯಾನ್ಯರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಹೋಗಿ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಪ್ರತೀಕಾರವನ್ನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ತೀರಿಸಬೇಕು.
So Moses told the people, “Arm some of your men for war, that they may go against the Midianites and execute the LORD’s vengeance on them.
4 ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಗೋತ್ರಗಳೊಳಗೆ ಒಂದೊಂದು ಗೋತ್ರದಿಂದ ಸಾವಿರ ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನು ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಬೇಕು,” ಎಂದನು.
Send into battle a thousand men from each tribe of Israel.”
5 ಆಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಒಂದೊಂದು ಗೋತ್ರದಿಂದ ಸಾವಿರ ಮಂದಿಯಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿದ್ಧವಾದ ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ಸಾವಿರ ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನು ಲೆಕ್ಕಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟರು.
So a thousand men were recruited from each tribe of Israel—twelve thousand armed for war.
6 ಮೋಶೆ ಒಂದೊಂದು ಗೋತ್ರದಿಂದ ಸಾವಿರ ಮಂದಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ಅವರನ್ನೂ ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಎಲಿಯಾಜರನ ಮಗ ಫೀನೆಹಾಸನನ್ನೂ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ಸಲಕರಣೆಗಳ ಸಂಗಡವೂ ಸೂಚಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ತುತೂರಿಗಳ ಸಂಗಡವೂ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
And Moses sent the thousand from each tribe into battle, along with Phinehas son of Eleazar the priest, who took with him the vessels of the sanctuary and the trumpets for signaling.
7 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಅವರು ಮಿದ್ಯಾನ್ಯರ ಮೇಲೆ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿ,
Then they waged war against Midian, as the LORD had commanded Moses, and they killed every male.
8 ಗಂಡಸರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದರು. ಈ ಹತರಾದವರಲ್ಲದೆ ಮಿದ್ಯಾನಿನ ಅರಸರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದರು. ಅವರು ಮಿದ್ಯಾನಿನ ಐದು ಮಂದಿ ಅರಸರಾಗಿರುವ ಎವೀ, ರೆಕೆಮ್, ಚೂರ್, ಹೂರ್, ರೆಬಾ, ಬೆಯೋರನ ಮಗ ಬಿಳಾಮನನ್ನೂ ಖಡ್ಗದಿಂದ ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದರು.
Among the slain were Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba—the five kings of Midian. They also killed Balaam son of Beor with the sword.
9 ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಮಿದ್ಯಾನ್ಯರ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರನ್ನೂ, ಅವರ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ಸೆರೆಹಿಡಿದು, ಅವರ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಪಶುಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಅವರ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಹಿಂಡುಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಅವರ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಸಲಕರಣೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಸುಲಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
The Israelites captured the Midianite women and their children, and they plundered all their herds, flocks, and goods.
10 ಅವರು ವಾಸಮಾಡಿದ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಅವರ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಕೋಟೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಬೆಂಕಿಯಿಂದ ಸುಟ್ಟರು.
Then they burned all the cities where the Midianites had lived, as well as all their encampments,
11 ಮನುಷ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಪಶುಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಸುಲಿಗೆಯನ್ನೂ, ಸಮಸ್ತ ಲೂಟಿಯನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡರು.
and carried away all the plunder and spoils, both people and animals.
12 ಅವರು ಸೆರೆಯವರನ್ನೂ, ಲೂಟಿಯನ್ನೂ, ಸುಲಿಗೆಯನ್ನೂ ಮೋಶೆ, ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಎಲಿಯಾಜರನು, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಸಭೆ ಇವರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಯೆರಿಕೋ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ನದಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಇರುವ ಮೋವಾಬಿನ ಬಯಲುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದ ಪಾಳೆಯದೊಳಗೆ ತಂದರು.
They brought the captives, spoils, and plunder to Moses, to Eleazar the priest, and to the congregation of Israel at the camp on the plains of Moab, by the Jordan across from Jericho.
13 ಮೋಶೆಯೂ, ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಎಲಿಯಾಜರನೂ, ಸಮೂಹದ ಪ್ರಧಾನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಪಾಳೆಯದ ಹೊರಗೆ ಹೋದರು.
And Moses, Eleazar the priest, and all the leaders of the congregation went to meet them outside the camp.
14 ಆದರೆ ಮೋಶೆಯು ಯುದ್ಧದಿಂದ ಬಂದ ಸಹಸ್ರಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳೂ ಶತಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ಪಾಳೆಯದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೋಪಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು.
But Moses was angry with the officers of the army—the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds—who were returning from the battle.
15 ಮೋಶೆಯು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಹೆಂಗಸರನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಉಳಿಸಿದರೋ?
“Have you spared all the women?” he asked them.
16 ಇವರೇ ಬಿಳಾಮನ ಮಾತಿನಿಂದ ಪೆಯೋರನ ಕಾರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ದ್ರೋಹ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಸಭೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಇವರಿಂದಲೇ ವ್ಯಾಧಿಯಾಯಿತು.
“Look, these women caused the sons of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to turn unfaithfully against the LORD at Peor, so that the plague struck the congregation of the LORD.
17 ಆದಕಾರಣ ಈಗ ಬಾಲಕರನ್ನೂ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪುರುಷನನ್ನು ಅರಿತಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿರಿ.
So now, kill all the boys, as well as every woman who has had relations with a man,
18 ಆದರೆ ಪುರುಷನನ್ನು ಅರಿಯದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ನಿಮಗಾಗಿ ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ.
but spare for yourselves every girl who has never had relations with a man.
19 “ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾಣ ತೆಗೆದವರು ಮತ್ತು ಶವವನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟಿದವರು ಏಳು ದಿವಸ ಪಾಳೆಯದ ಹೊರಗೆ ಇರಬೇಕು. ನೀವೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸೆರೆಯವರೂ ಮೂರನೆಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಏಳನೆಯ ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಶುದ್ಧ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು.
All of you who have killed a person or touched the dead are to remain outside the camp for seven days. On the third day and the seventh day you are to purify both yourselves and your captives.
20 ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಚರ್ಮದ ಸಲಕರಣೆಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಮೇಕೆ ಕೂದಲಿಂದ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ, ಕಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಸಲಕರಣೆಗಳೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಶುದ್ಧಮಾಡಬೇಕು,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
And purify every garment and leather good, everything made of goat’s hair, and every article of wood.”
21 ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಎಲಿಯಾಜರನು ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದ ಪಾಳೆಯದ ಜನರಿಗೆ, “ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ ನ್ಯಾಯದ ಕಟ್ಟಳೆಯು ಇದೇ:
Then Eleazar the priest said to the soldiers who had gone into battle, “This is the statute of the law which the LORD has commanded Moses:
22 ಬೆಂಕಿ ತಾಳುವ ಬಂಗಾರ, ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ, ಕಂಚು, ಕಬ್ಬಿಣ, ತವರ, ಸೀಸ ಮೊದಲಾದವುಗಳನ್ನು
Only the gold, silver, bronze, iron, tin, and lead—
23 ನೀವು ಬೆಂಕಿಯಿಂದ ದಾಟಿಸಬೇಕು. ಆಗ ಅವು ಶುದ್ಧವಾಗುವುವು. ಶುದ್ಧೀಕರಣದ ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅದ್ದಿ ಶುದ್ಧಮಾಡಬೇಕು. ಆಗ ಅವು ಶುದ್ಧವಾಗುವುವು. ಆದರೆ ಬೆಂಕಿ ತಾಳದ ಸಮಸ್ತವನ್ನು ನೀವು ನೀರಿನಿಂದ ತೊಳೆಯಬೇಕು.
everything that can withstand the fire—must be put through the fire, and it will be clean. But it must still be purified with the water of purification. And everything that cannot withstand the fire must pass through the water.
24 ಏಳನೆಯ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಶುದ್ಧರಾಗಬೇಕು. ತರುವಾಯ ಪಾಳೆಯದೊಳಗೆ ಬರಬೇಕು,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
On the seventh day you are to wash your clothes, and you will be clean. After that you may enter the camp.”
25 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಮೋಶೆಯ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ,
The LORD said to Moses,
26 “ನೀನೂ, ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಎಲಿಯಾಜರನೂ, ಕುಲಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳೂ ಸೈನಿಕರ ಕೈಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿರುವ ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನೂ ಪಶುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಲೆಕ್ಕಮಾಡಿ ಒಟ್ಟು ಎಷ್ಟೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ.
“You and Eleazar the priest and the family heads of the congregation are to take a count of what was captured, both of man and beast.
27 ಆ ಸುಲಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟ ಯುದ್ಧಭಟರಿಗೂ, ಸಮಸ್ತ ಸಭೆಗೂ ಎರಡು ಪಾಲನ್ನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು.
Then divide the captives between the troops who went out to battle and the rest of the congregation.
28 ಜನರಿಂದಲೂ, ಪಶುಗಳಿಂದಲೂ, ಕತ್ತೆಗಳಿಂದಲೂ, ಕುರಿಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ಐನೂರರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟ ಯುದ್ಧಭಟರ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಕಪ್ಪವಾಗಿ ಎತ್ತಬೇಕು.
Set aside a tribute for the LORD from what belongs to the soldiers who went into battle: one out of every five hundred, whether persons, cattle, donkeys, or sheep.
29 ಅವರ ಅರ್ಧ ಪಾಲಿನಿಂದ ಅದನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಪಣೆಯಾಗಿ, ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಎಲಿಯಾಜರನಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಬೇಕು.
Take it from their half and give it to Eleazar the priest as an offering to the LORD.
30 ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರ್ಧ ಪಾಲಿನಿಂದ ಜನರಿಂದಲೂ, ಕತ್ತೆಗಳಿಂದಲೂ, ಮಂದೆಗಳಿಂದಲೂ, ಸಮಸ್ತ ಪಶುಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ಐವತ್ತರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಪಾಲು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಗುಡಾರವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುವ ಲೇವಿಯರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಬೇಕು,” ಎಂದರು.
From the Israelites’ half, take one out of every fifty, whether persons, cattle, donkeys, sheep, or other animals, and give them to the Levites who keep charge of the tabernacle of the LORD.”
31 ಆಗ ಮೋಶೆಯೂ, ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಎಲಿಯಾಜರನೂ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
So Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the LORD had commanded Moses,
32 ಯುದ್ಧಭಟರು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದ ಲೂಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿದ ಸುಲಿಗೆ ಎಷ್ಟೆಂದರೆ 6,75,000 ಕುರಿಗಳು.
and this plunder remained from the spoils the soldiers had taken: 675,000 sheep,
33 72,000 ಪಶುಗಳು;
72,000 cattle,
34 ಕತ್ತೆಗಳು 61,000;
61,000 donkeys,
35 ಪುರುಷರನ್ನು ಅರಿಯದ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರು 32,000 ಮಂದಿ.
and 32,000 women who had not slept with a man.
36 ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟವರ ಅರ್ಧ ಭಾಗದ ಲೆಕ್ಕವಿದು: 3,37,500 ಕುರಿಗಳಿಂದ
This was the half portion for those who had gone to war: 337,500 sheep,
37 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಲಾದ ಕಪ್ಪವು 675;
including a tribute to the LORD of 675,
38 ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವರಿಗೆ ದೊರಕಿದ 36,000 ದನಕರುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಉಂಟಾದ ಕಪ್ಪವು 72 ದನಕರುಗಳು;
36,000 cattle, including a tribute to the LORD of 72,
39 30,500 ಕತ್ತೆಗಳು; ಅವುಗಳಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಉಂಟಾದ ಕಪ್ಪವು 61;
30,500 donkeys, including a tribute to the LORD of 61,
40 16,000 ಜನರು, ಅವರಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಉಂಟಾದ ಕಪ್ಪವು 32 ಜನ.
and 16,000 people, including a tribute to the LORD of 32.
41 ಮೋಶೆಯು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಪಡೆಯುವ ಕಪ್ಪವನ್ನು ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಎಲಿಯಾಜರನಿಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
Moses gave the tribute to Eleazar the priest as an offering for the LORD, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
42 ಮೋಶೆಯು ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದ ಜನರಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ ಹಂಚಿದ ಅರ್ಧ ಭಾಗದ ವಿವರ:
From the Israelites’ half, which Moses had set apart from the men who had gone to war,
43 ಕುರಿಗಳಿಂದ ಸಭೆಯ ಅರ್ಧ 3, 37,500 ಕುರಿಗಳು;
this half belonged to the congregation: 337,500 sheep,
44 36,000 ಪಶುಗಳು;
36,000 cattle,
45 30,500 ಕತ್ತೆಗಳು;
30,500 donkeys,
46 16,000 ಜನರು;
and 16,000 people.
47 ಮೋಶೆಯು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರ್ಧದಿಂದ ಮನುಷ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಪಶುಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಐವತ್ತರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಪಾಲನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ತನಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಗುಡಾರವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಲೇವಿಯರಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
From the Israelites’ half, Moses took one out of every fifty persons and animals and gave them to the Levites who kept charge of the tabernacle of the LORD, as the LORD had commanded him.
48 ಆಗ ಸೈನ್ಯದ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಾದ ಸಹಸ್ರಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳೂ ಶತಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳೂ ಮೋಶೆಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು,
Then the officers who were over the units of the army—the commanders of thousands and of hundreds—approached Moses
49 ಮೋಶೆಗೆ ಅವರು, “ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಾದ ನಾವು ನಮ್ಮ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಯುದ್ಧಭಟರ ಲೆಕ್ಕವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡೆವು. ಅವರೊಳಗೆ ಒಬ್ಬನಾದರೂ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.
and said, “Your servants have counted the soldiers under our command, and not one of us is missing.
50 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಾಣಗಳಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಪ್ರಾಯಶ್ಚಿತ್ತಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಾವು ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದಂಥ ಬಂಗಾರದ ವಸ್ತುಗಳಾದ ಸರಪಣಿಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಕಡಗಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಉಂಗುರಗಳನ್ನೂ, ವಾಲೆಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಪದಕಗಳನ್ನೂ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯಾಗಿ ತಂದಿದ್ದೇವೆ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
So we have brought to the LORD an offering of the gold articles each man acquired—armlets, bracelets, rings, earrings, and necklaces—to make atonement for ourselves before the LORD.”
51 ಮೋಶೆಯೂ, ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಎಲಿಯಾಜರನೂ ವಿಚಿತ್ರ ಕೆಲಸವಾಗಿರುವ ಬಂಗಾರವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅದರಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡರು.
So Moses and Eleazar the priest received from them all the articles made out of gold.
52 ಸಹಸ್ರಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳೂ, ಶತಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳೂ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯ ಒಟ್ಟು ತೂಕ 16,750 ಶೆಕೆಲ್‌ಗಳು.
All the gold that the commanders of thousands and of hundreds presented as an offering to the LORD weighed 16,750 shekels.
53 ಯುದ್ಧದ ಜನರು ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬನು ಸ್ವಂತವಾಗಿ ಸುಲಿದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು.
Each of the soldiers had taken plunder for himself.
