ಅರಣ್ಯಕಾಂಡ 24
1 ಆದರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನ್ನು ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದೆಂದು ಬಿಳಾಮನು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ, ಅವನು ಮುಂಚಿನ ಹಾಗೆ ಶಕುನವನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗದೆ, ತನ್ನ ಮುಖವನ್ನು ಮರುಭೂಮಿಯ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು.
And Balaam saw that it was good in the sight of Jehovah to bless Israel, and he went not, as at other times, to seek for enchantments, but he set his face toward the wilderness.
2 ಬಿಳಾಮನು ತನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣೆತ್ತಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಅವರವರ ಗೋತ್ರಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ತಮ್ಮ ಡೇರೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿರುವುದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ, ದೇವರಾತ್ಮ ಪ್ರೇರಿತನಾಗಿ
And Balaam lifted up his eyes and saw Israel dwelling [in tents] according to his tribes; and the Spirit of God came upon him.
3 ಹೀಗೆ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸಿದನು: “ಇದು ಬೆಯೋರನ ಮಗ ಬಿಳಾಮನ ಪ್ರವಾದನೆ: ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟ ಕಣ್ಣುಳ್ಳವನು ನುಡಿದದ್ದು.
And he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor saith, and the man of opened eye saith,
4 ದೇವರ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದವನೂ, ಸರ್ವಶಕ್ತರ ದರ್ಶನವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದವನೂ, ಪರವಶನಾಗಿ ತೆರೆದ ಕಣ್ಣುಳ್ಳವನೂ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದು:
He saith, who heareth the words of God, who seeth the vision of the Almighty, who falleth down, and who hath his eyes open:
5 “ಯಾಕೋಬೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಡೇರೆಗಳೂ; ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೇ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಗುಡಾರಗಳೂ ಉತ್ತಮವಾಗಿವೆ!
How goodly are thy tents, Jacob, and thy tabernacles, Israel!
6 “ಅವು ಕಣಿವೆಗಳ ಹಾಗೆ ವಿಸ್ತರಿಸಿವೆ. ನದಿತೀರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ತೋಟಗಳ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನೆಟ್ಟ ಅಗರು ಮರಗಳ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ನೀರಿನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ದೇವದಾರುಗಳ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ಇರುತ್ತವೆ.
Like valleys are they spread forth, like gardens by the river side, Like aloe-trees which Jehovah hath planted, like cedars beside the waters.
7 ಅವರ ತೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳಿಂದ ನೀರು ಹರಿಯುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವರು. ಅವರ ಬಿತ್ತನೆಗೆ ಬೇಕಾದಷ್ಟು ನೀರು ಇರುವುದು. “ಅವರ ಅರಸನು ಅಗಾಗ್ ರಾಜನಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಉನ್ನತವಾಗಿರುವನು. ಅವರ ರಾಜ್ಯವು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಹೊಂದುವುದು.
Water shall flow out of his buckets, and his seed shall be in great waters, And his king shall be higher than Agag, and his kingdom shall be exalted.
8 “ದೇವರು ಅವರನ್ನು ಈಜಿಪ್ಟಿನಿಂದ ಹೊರಗೆ ತಂದನು. ಈ ಕಾಡುಕೋಣದಂತೆ ಬಲ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಉಂಟು. ಅವರು ತನ್ನ ವೈರಿಗಳಾಗಿರುವ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಂದು, ಅವರ ಎಲುಬುಗಳನ್ನು ಚೂರುಮಾಡಿ, ತಮ್ಮ ಬಾಣಗಳಿಂದ ಗಾಯಮಾಡುವನು.
God brought him out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of a buffalo. He shall consume the nations his enemies, and break their bones, and with his arrows shall smite [them] in pieces.
9 ಅವರು ಸಿಂಹದ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ, ಸಿಂಹಣಿ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ಬಾಗಿ ಮಲಗುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಅವನನ್ನು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸುವವನು ಯಾರು? “ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸುವವನಿಗೆ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದ ಉಂಟಾಗಲಿ. ಶಪಿಸುವವನಿಗೆ ಶಾಪ ಉಂಟಾಗಲಿ.”
He stooped, he lay down like a lion, and like a lioness: who will stir him up? Blessed is he that blesseth thee, and cursed is he that curseth thee.
10 ಆಗ ಬಾಲಾಕನು ಬಿಳಾಮನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು, ಚಪ್ಪಾಳೆ ಹೊಡೆದು ಬಿಳಾಮನಿಗೆ, “ನನ್ನ ಶತ್ರುಗಳನ್ನು ಶಪಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕರೆದೆನು. ಆದರೆ ಇಗೋ, ನೀನು ಈ ಮೂರು ಸಾರಿಯೂ ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸಿದೆ.
Then Balak's anger was kindled against Balaam, and he smote his hands together; and Balak said to Balaam, I called thee to curse mine enemies, and behold, thou hast altogether blessed [them] these three times!
11 ಈಗ ನಿನ್ನ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಓಡಿಹೋಗು. ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಹು ಗೌರವಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಇಗೋ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿನಗೆ ಘನತೆ ಬಾರದಂತೆ ತಡೆದಿದ್ದಾನೆ,” ಎಂದನು.
And now flee thou to thy place; I said I would very highly honour thee, and behold, Jehovah has kept thee back from honour.
12 ಬಿಳಾಮನು ಬಾಲಾಕನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ದೂತರಿಗೆ,
And Balaam said to Balak, Did I not also speak to thy messengers whom thou sentest to me, saying,
13 ‘ಬಾಲಾಕನು ನನಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಮನೆ ತುಂಬ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಬಂಗಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟರೂ, ನನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದಿಂದ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನಾದರೂ, ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನಾದರೂ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಮೀರಲಾರೆನು. ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಏನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೋ, ಅದನ್ನೇ ಹೇಳುವೆನೆಂದು ನಾನು ಹೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ’? ಈಗ, ನನ್ನ ಜನರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇನೆ.
If Balak gave me his house full of silver and gold, I could not go beyond the commandment of Jehovah to do good or bad out of my heart: what Jehovah shall say, that will I speak?
14 ಬಾ, ಈ ಜನರು ನಿನ್ನ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಕಡೇ ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಏನು ಮಾಡುವರೋ, ಅದನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸುವೆನು,” ಎಂದನು.
And now behold, I go to my people: come, I will admonish thee what this people will do to thy people at the end of days.
15 ಆಗ ಅವನು ಪದ್ಯರೂಪವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ: “ಬೆಯೋರನ ಮಗ ಬಿಳಾಮನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದು: ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟ ಕಣ್ಣುಳ್ಳ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ನುಡಿದದ್ದು.
And he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor saith, and the man of opened eye saith,
16 ದೇವರ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದವನೂ, ಮಹೋನ್ನತನ ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದವನೂ, ಸರ್ವಶಕ್ತರ ದರ್ಶನವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದವನೂ, ಪರವಶನಾಗಿದ್ದು ತೆರೆದ ಕಣ್ಣುಳ್ಳವನೂ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದು:
He saith, who heareth the words of God, who knoweth the knowledge of the Most High, Who seeth the vision of the Almighty, who falleth down, and who hath his eyes open:
17 “ನಾನು ಅವನನ್ನು ನೋಡುವೆನು, ಈಗಲ್ಲ. ಅವನನ್ನು ದೃಷ್ಟಿಸುವೆನು, ಸಮೀಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲ್ಲ. ಯಾಕೋಬನಿಂದ ನಕ್ಷತ್ರ ಉದಯಿಸುವುದು. ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನಿಂದ ರಾಜದಂಡ ಏಳುವುದು. ಅದು ಮೋವಾಬಿನ ಮೂಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದು, ಸೇಥನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸುವುದು.
I shall see him, but not now; I shall behold him, but not nigh: There cometh a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and he shall cut in pieces the corners of Moab, and destroy all the sons of tumult.
18 ಎದೋಮು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನವಾಗುವುದು; ಸೇಯೀರನವರು ತನ್ನ ಶತ್ರುಗಳಿಗೆ ಸ್ವಾಧೀನವಾಗುವುದು; ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲು ಪರಾಕ್ರಮ ಕಾರ್ಯಮಾಡುವುದು,
And Edom shall be a possession, and Seir a possession, — they, his enemies; but Israel will do valiantly.
19 ಯಾಕೋಬನೊಳಗಿಂದ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಬಂದು ಆಳುವನು, ಅವನು ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿದದ್ದನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡುವನು.”
And one out of Jacob shall have dominion, and will destroy out of the city what remaineth.
20 ಅನಂತರ ಬಿಳಾಮನು ಅಮಾಲೇಕ್ಯರನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಪದ್ಯರೂಪವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ: “ಜನಾಂಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊದಲನೆಯವನೇ ಅಮಾಲೇಕ್ಯನು, ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಕೊನೆಗೆ ನಾಶವಾಗುವನು.”
And he saw Amalek, and took up his parable, and said, Amalek is the first of the nations, but his latter end shall be for destruction.
21 ಬಳಿಕ ಕೇನ್ಯರನ್ನು ಅವನು ನೋಡಿ ಪದ್ಯರೂಪವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ: “ನಿನ್ನ ನಿವಾಸವು ಬಲವಾಗಿದೆ. ನಿನ್ನ ಗೂಡನ್ನು ಬಂಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿದಿ.
And he saw the Kenites, and took up his parable, and said, Firm is thy dwelling-place, and thy nest fixed in the rock;
22 ಆದರೂ ಅಸ್ಸೀರಿಯರು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಸೆರೆಹಿಡಿಯುವಷ್ಟರಲ್ಲೇ ನೀವು ಕೇನ್ಯರೂ ಹಾಳಾಗುವರು.”
But the Kenite shall be consumed, until Asshur shall carry thee away captive.
23 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ಪದ್ಯರೂಪವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ: “ಅಯ್ಯೋ! ದೇವರು ಇದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವಾಗ ಯಾರು ಬದುಕುವರು?
And he took up his parable, and said, Alas! Who shall live when God doeth this?
24 ಕಿತ್ತೀಮೆಂಬ ತೀರದಿಂದ ಹಡಗುಗಳು ಬಂದು, ಅಸ್ಸೀರಿಯರನ್ನೂ, ಏಬೆರ್ ಜನರನ್ನೂ ಸೋಲಿಸುವುವು. ಅವನು ಸಹ ಸದಾಕಾಲಕ್ಕೂ ನಾಶವಾಗುವನು.”
And ships shall come from the coast of Chittim, and afflict Asshur, and afflict Eber, and he also shall be for destruction.
25 ಆಗ ಬಿಳಾಮನು ಎದ್ದು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ತಿರುಗಿಹೋದನು. ಬಾಲಾಕನು ಸಹ ತನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿ ಹೋದನು.
And Balaam rose up, and went and returned to his place; and Balak also went his way.
