ನೆಹೆಮೀಯನು 1

1 ಹಕಲ್ಯನ ಮಗ ನೆಹೆಮೀಯನ ಮಾತುಗಳು: ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದ, ಕಿಸ್ಲೇವ್ ಎಂಬ ಮಾರ್ಗಶಿರ ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಶೂಷನ್ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಅರಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದೆನು.

The words of Nehemiah son of Hakaliah: Now it happened in the month of Kislev, in the twentieth year, as I was in the fortress of Susa,

2 ಆಗ ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನಾದ ಹನಾನೀಯನು ಹಾಗೂ ಬೇರೆ ಕೆಲವು ಜನರು ಯೆಹೂದದಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು. ಸೆರೆ ಹೋದವರಿಂದ ಉಳಿದಿರುವ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಮತ್ತು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಸಮಾಚಾರವನ್ನು ನಾನು ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿದೆನು.

that one of my brothers, Hanani, came with some people from Judah, and I asked them about the Jews who had escaped, the remnant of the Jews who were there, and about Jerusalem.

3 ಅವರು ನನಗೆ, “ಸೆರೆಯಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಈಗ ಆ ನಾಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವವರು ಮಹಾ ಕಷ್ಟ ನಿಂದೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಒಳಗಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಪೌಳಿಗೋಡೆಯನ್ನು ಕೆಡವಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಅದರ ಬಾಗಿಲುಗಳು ಬೆಂಕಿಯಿಂದ ಸುಟ್ಟುಹೋಗಿವೆ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

They said to me, “Those in the province who survived the captivity are in great trouble and disgrace because the wall of Jerusalem has been broken open, and its gates have been set on fire.”

4 ನಾನು ಈ ಸಮಾಚಾರವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ, ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೂತುಕೊಂಡು ಅತ್ತೆನು. ಹಲವಾರು ದಿನಗಳವರೆಗೆ ಶೋಕಿಸಿದೆ, ಉಪವಾಸವಿದ್ದೆ, ಪರಲೋಕ ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದೆ.

As soon as I heard these words, I sat down and wept, and for days I continued grieving and fasting and praying before the God of heaven.

5 ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ: “ಪರಲೋಕ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರೇ, ನೀವು ಮಹೋನ್ನತರೂ ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಗೆ ಪಾತ್ರರೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳಿಗೆ ವಿಧೇಯರಾಗಿರುವವರೊಂದಿಗೆ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ನೆರವೇರಿಸುವವರೇ, ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಗೆ ಪಾತ್ರರಾದ ದೇವರೇ,

Then I said, “You are Yahweh, God of heaven, the God who is great and awesome, who keeps the covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments.

6 ಕೃಪೆಮಾಡಿ ನನಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡಿರಿ, ಕಟಾಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ನೋಡಿರಿ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದಾಸನ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯನ್ನು ಆಲಿಸಿರಿ. ನಾನು ಈಗ ಹಗಲಿರುಳೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದಾಸರಾದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದೇನೆ. ಅವರು ನಿಮಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ಪಾಪಗಳನ್ನು ಅರಿಕೆಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದೇನೆ. ನಾನೂ, ನನ್ನ ಪೂರ್ವಜರೂ ಆ ಪಾಪಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲುಗಾರರು.

Listen to my prayer and open your eyes, so you may hear the prayer of your servant that I now pray before you day and night for the people of Israel your servants. I am confessing the sins of the people of Israel, which we have sinned against you. Both I and my father's house have sinned.

7 ನಾವು ನಿಮಗೆ ದ್ರೋಹಿಗಳಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದೆವು. ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದಾಸನಾದ ಮೋಶೆಯ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಆಜ್ಞಾವಿಧಿನ್ಯಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ನಾವು ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ.

We have acted very wickedly against you, and we have not kept the commandments, the statutes, and the rules you commanded your servant Moses.

8 “ದಯಮಾಡಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ಮೋಶೆಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ಈ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಜ್ಞಾಪಕಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ. ಮೋಶೆಯ ಮುಖಾಂತರ, ‘ನೀವು ದ್ರೋಹ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ, ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಚದರಿಸಿಬಿಡುವೆನು.

Please call to mind the word you commanded your servant Moses, 'If you act unfaithfully, I will scatter you among the nations,

9 ಆದರೆ ನೀವು ನನ್ನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ನನ್ನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಿ, ಅವುಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನಡೆದರೆ, ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿರುವವರು ಆಕಾಶದ ಅಂತ್ಯದವರೆಗೂ ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದರೂ, ನಾನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿ, ನನ್ನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನಿಡಲು ಆಯ್ದುಕೊಂಡ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡುವೆನು,’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೀರಿ.

but if you return to me and follow my commandments and do them, though your people were scattered under the farthest skies, I will gather them from there and bring them to that place where I have chosen to make my name remain.'

10 “ಅವರು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಹಾಶಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದಲೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಭುಜಪರಾಕ್ರಮಗಳಿಂದ ನೀವು ವಿಮೋಚಿಸಿದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸೇವಕರೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಜನರೂ ಆಗಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ.

Now they are your servants and your people, whom you have rescued by your great power and by your strong hand.

11 ದೇವರೇ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೆಸರಲ್ಲಿ ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಹರ್ಷಿಸುವ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸೇವಕರ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡಿರಿ. ಇಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ನನಗೆ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟು, ಈ ಅರಸನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ದಯೆ ದೊರಕುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿರಿ,” ಎಂದು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡೆನು. ಆ ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಪಾನ ಸೇವಕನಾಗಿದ್ದೆನು.

Yahweh, I beg you, listen now to the prayer of your servant and to the prayer of your servants who delight to honor your name. Now give success to your servant today, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man.” I served as cupbearer to the king.
