ಮತ್ತಾಯನು 1
1 ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ವಂಶಾವಳಿಯ ದಾಖಲೆ. ಯೇಸು ದಾವೀದನ ವಂಶದವರು, ದಾವೀದನು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನ ವಂಶದವನು:
A record of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
2 ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಇಸಾಕನ ತಂದೆ, ಇಸಾಕನು ಯಾಕೋಬನ ತಂದೆ, ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಯೂದ ಮತ್ತು ಅವನ ಅಣ್ಣ ತಮ್ಮಂದಿರ ತಂದೆ,
Abraham was the father of Isaac, and Isaac the father of Jacob, and Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers,
3 ಯೂದನು ಪೆರೆಸ ಮತ್ತು ಜೆರಹನ ತಂದೆ, ತಾಮಾರಳು ಇವರ ತಾಯಿ, ಪೆರೆಸನು ಹೆಚ್ರೋನನ ತಂದೆ, ಹೆಚ್ರೋನನು ಅರಾಮನ ತಂದೆ,
and Judah was the father of Perez and Zerah by Tamar, and Perez was the father of Hezron, and Hezron the father of Ram,
4 ಅರಾಮನು ಅಮ್ಮೀನಾದಾಬನ ತಂದೆ, ಅಮ್ಮೀನಾದಾಬನು ನಹಶೋನನ ತಂದೆ, ನಹಶೋನನು ಸಲ್ಮೋನನ ತಂದೆ,
and Ram the father of Amminadab, and Amminadab the father of Nahshon, and Nahshon the father of Salmon,
5 ಸಲ್ಮೋನನು ಬೋವಜನ ತಂದೆ, ಬೋವಜನ ತಾಯಿ ರಾಹಾಬಳು, ಬೋವಜನು ಓಬೇದನ ತಂದೆ, ಓಬೇದನ ತಾಯಿ ರೂತಳು, ಓಬೇದನು ಇಷಯನ ತಂದೆ,
and Salmon the father of Boaz by Rahab, and Boaz was the father of Obed by Ruth, and Obed was the father of Jesse,
6 ಇಷಯನು ರಾಜನಾದ ದಾವೀದನ ತಂದೆ. ದಾವೀದನು ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನ ತಂದೆ, ಇವನ ತಾಯಿ ಊರೀಯನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದವಳು,
and Jesse the father of David the king. And David was the father of Solomon by her who had been the wife of Uriah;
7 ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನು ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನ ತಂದೆ, ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನು ಅಬೀಯನ ತಂದೆ, ಅಬೀಯನು ಆಸನ ತಂದೆ,
and Solomon was the father of Rehoboam, and Rehoboam the father of Abijah, and Abijah the father of Asa;
8 ಆಸನು ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನ ತಂದೆ, ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನು ಯೆಹೋರಾಮನ ತಂದೆ, ಯೆಹೋರಾಮನು ಉಜ್ಜೀಯನ ತಂದೆ,
and Asa the father of Jehoshaphat, and Jehoshaphat the father of Joram, and Joram the father of Uzziah,
9 ಉಜ್ಜೀಯನು ಯೋತಾಮನ ತಂದೆ, ಯೋತಾಮನು ಆಹಾಜನ ತಂದೆ, ಆಹಾಜನು ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನ ತಂದೆ,
and Uzziah the father of Jotham, and Jotham the father of Ahaz, and Ahaz the father of Hezekiah;
10 ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಮನಸ್ಸೆಯ ತಂದೆ, ಮನಸ್ಸೆಯು ಆಮೋನನ ತಂದೆ, ಆಮೋನನು ಯೋಷೀಯನ ತಂದೆ,
and Hezekiah the father of Manasseh, and Manasseh the father of Amon, and Amon the father of Josiah,
11 ಯೋಷೀಯನಿಗೆ ಯೆಕೊನ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಅವನ ಸಹೋದರರು ಹುಟ್ಟಿದರು, ಈ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರನ್ನು ಬಾಬಿಲೋನಿಗೆ ಸೆರೆ ಒಯ್ದದ್ದು.
and Josiah the father of Jechoniah and his brothers, at the time of the exile to Babylon.
12 ಬಾಬಿಲೋನಿಗೆ ಸೆರೆಹೋದ ಮೇಲೆ: ಯೆಕೊನ್ಯನು ಶೆಯಲ್ತೀಯೇಲನನ್ನು ಪಡೆದನು, ಶೆಯಲ್ತೀಯೇಲನು ಜೆರುಬ್ಬಾಬೆಲನ ತಂದೆ,
And after the exile to Babylon, Jechoniah was the father of Shealtiel, and Shealtiel the father of Zerubbabel,
13 ಜೆರುಬ್ಬಾಬೆಲನು ಅಬಿಹೂದನ ತಂದೆ, ಅಬಿಹೂದನು ಎಲಿಯಕೀಮನ ತಂದೆ, ಎಲಿಯಕೀಮನು ಅಜೋರನ ತಂದೆ,
and Zerubbabel the father of Abihud, and Abihud the father of Eliakim, and Eliakim the father of Azzur,
14 ಅಜೋರನು ಸದೋಕನ ತಂದೆ, ಸದೋಕನು ಅಖೀಮನ ತಂದೆ, ಅಖೀಮನು ಎಲಿಹೂದನ ತಂದೆ,
and Azzur the father of Zadok, and Zadok the father of Ahiam, and Ahiam the father of Elihud,
15 ಎಲಿಹೂದನು ಎಲಿಯಾಜರನ ತಂದೆ, ಎಲಿಯಾಜರನು ಮತ್ತಾನನ ತಂದೆ, ಮತ್ತಾನನು ಯಾಕೋಬನ ತಂದೆ,
and Elihud the father of Eleazar, and Eleazar the father of Matthan, and Matthan the father of Jacob,
16 ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಯೋಸೇಫನ ತಂದೆ, ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಮರಿಯಳ ಪತಿ, ಮರಿಯಳು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಲಾದ, ಯೇಸುಸ್ವಾಮಿಯ ತಾಯಿ.
and Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, from whom was born Jesus, who is called the Christ.
17 ಈ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನಿಂದ ದಾವೀದನವರೆಗೆ ಹದಿನಾಲ್ಕು ತಲೆಮಾರುಗಳು, ದಾವೀದನಿಂದ ಬಾಬಿಲೋನಿಗೆ ಸೆರೆ ಹೋಗುವವರೆಗೆ ಹದಿನಾಲ್ಕು ತಲೆಮಾರುಗಳು, ಬಾಬಿಲೋನಿಗೆ ಸೆರೆಹೋದ ದಿನದಿಂದ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತರವರೆಗೆ ಹದಿನಾಲ್ಕು ತಲೆಮಾರುಗಳು.
So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David to the exile to Babylon fourteen generations; and from the exile to Babylon to the Christ, fourteen generations.
18 ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಜನನದ ವಿವರ: ಯೇಸುವಿನ ತಾಯಿ ಮರಿಯಳನ್ನು ಯೋಸೇಫನಿಗೆ ನಿಶ್ಚಯ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರು, ಆದರೆ ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರು ಕೂಡಿಬಾಳುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆಯೇ, ಮರಿಯಳು ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮರಿಂದ ಗರ್ಭಧರಿಸಿರುವುದು ತಿಳಿದುಬಂತು.
Now the birth of Jesus Christ happened like this. His mother Mary had been engaged to Joseph, and before they came together, she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit.
19 ಯೋಸೇಫನು ನೀತಿವಂತನಾಗಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಬಹಿರಂಗವಾಗಿ ಅವಮಾನ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಲ್ಲದೆ, ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ರಹಸ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬಿಡಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದನು.
And Joseph, her husband, being a righteous man, and not willing to make her a public example, intended to put her away secretly.
20 ಅವನು ಹೀಗೆ ಯೋಚಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ, ಕರ್ತನ ದೂತನು ಕನಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷನಾಗಿ, “ದಾವೀದನ ವಂಶದ ಯೋಸೇಫನೇ, ಮರಿಯಳನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಲು ಅಂಜಬೇಡ. ಆಕೆ ಗರ್ಭವತಿಯಾಗಿರುವುದು ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮರಿಂದಲೇ.
But when he thought about these things, look, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to yourself Mary, your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
21 ಅವಳು ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹೆರುವಳು, ನೀನು ಆತನಿಗೆ, ‘ಯೇಸು’ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಡಬೇಕು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವರೇ ತಮ್ಮ ಜನರನ್ನು ಅವರ ಪಾಪಗಳಿಂದ ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವರು,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
And she will bring forth a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins."
22 ದೇವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಹೇಳಿದ ಈ ಮಾತು ನೆರವೇರುವಂತೆ ಇದೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಡೆಯಿತು:
Now all this has happened, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying,
23 “ಇಗೋ ಒಬ್ಬ ಕನ್ನಿಕೆಯು ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿಯಾಗಿ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹೆರುವಳು, ಆ ಮಗುವಿಗೆ, ‘ಇಮ್ಮಾನುಯೇಲ್’ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಡುವರು.” ಈ ಹೆಸರಿನ ಅರ್ಥ, “ದೇವರು ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ,” ಎಂಬುದು.
"Look, the virgin will conceive and bear a son, and they will call his name Immanuel;" which is translated, "God with us."
24 ಯೋಸೇಫನು ನಿದ್ದೆಯಿಂದ ಎದ್ದ ಮೇಲೆ, ಕರ್ತನ ದೂತನು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಮರಿಯಳನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು.
And Joseph arose from his sleep, and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took his wife to himself;
25 ಆದರೆ ಅವಳು ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹೆರುವತನಕ ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಆಕೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ದಾಂಪತ್ಯ ಜೀವನ ಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಆ ಮಗುವಿಗೆ “ಯೇಸು” ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟನು.
and had no marital relations with her until she had brought forth a son; and he named him Jesus.
