ಮಾರ್ಕನು 8
1 ಆ ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಜನಸಮೂಹ ಕೂಡಿಬಂದಿತು. ಅವರಿಗೆ ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ ಏನೂ ಇಲ್ಲದ್ದರಿಂದ ಯೇಸು ತಮ್ಮ ಶಿಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿರಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆದು,
In those days the multitude being very great, and having nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples, and saith to them,
2 “ನಾನು ಈ ಜನಸಮೂಹವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಕನಿಕರಪಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಮೂರು ದಿನಗಳಿಂದ ಇವರು ನನ್ನೊಂದಿಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇವರಿಗೆ ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ ಏನೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.
I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now been with me three days, and have nothing to eat:
3 ನಾನು ಇವರನ್ನು ಹಸಿವೆಯಿಂದ ತಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರೆ ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಳಲಿ ಹೋಗುವರು. ಇವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರು ದೂರದಿಂದ ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ,” ಎಂದರು.
And if I send them away fasting to their own houses, they will faint by the way: for some of them came from a distance.
4 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ, “ಈ ನಿರ್ಜನ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಜನರನ್ನು ತೃಪ್ತಿಪಡಿಸಲು ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲಿಂದ ತರುವುದು?” ಎಂದರು.
And his disciples answered him, From whence can a man satisfy these [men] with bread here in the wilderness?
5 ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಎಷ್ಟು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳಿವೆ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು, “ಏಳು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳಿವೆ,” ಎಂದರು.
And he asked them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven.
6 ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ಜನಸಮೂಹವು ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಟ್ಟು ಆ ಏಳು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಮುರಿದು ಜನಸಮೂಹಕ್ಕೆ ಹಂಚಲು ತಮ್ಮ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟರು. ಅವರು ಜನಸಮೂಹಕ್ಕೆ ಹಂಚಿದರು.
And he commanded the people to sit down on the ground: and he took the seven loaves, and gave thanks, and broke, and gave to his disciples to set before [them]; and they set [them] before the people.
7 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವು ಸಣ್ಣ ಮೀನುಗಳಿದ್ದವು. ಯೇಸು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹಂಚುವಂತೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದರು.
And they had a few small fishes: and he blessed, and commanded to set them also before [them].
8 ಜನರು ಊಟಮಾಡಿ ತೃಪ್ತರಾದರು. ಉಳಿದ ತುಂಡುಗಳನ್ನು ಒಟ್ಟುಗೂಡಿಸಿದಾಗ ಏಳು ಬುಟ್ಟಿಗಳು ತುಂಬಿದವು.
So they ate, and were satisfied: and they took up of the fragments that were left, seven baskets.
9 ಊಟಮಾಡಿದವರು ಸುಮಾರು ನಾಲ್ಕು ಸಾವಿರ ಮಂದಿ. ಯೇಸು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ನಂತರ,
And they that had eaten were about four thousand: and he dismissed them.
10 ತಮ್ಮ ಶಿಷ್ಯರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ದೋಣಿಯನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿ ದಲ್ಮನೂಥ ಎಂಬ ಪ್ರದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದರು.
And forthwith he entered into a boat with his disciples, and came into the parts of Dalmanutha.
11 ಫರಿಸಾಯರು ಬಂದು ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಪರಲೋಕದಿಂದ ತಮಗೆ ಒಂದು ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಕೇಳಿ, ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ತರ್ಕಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದರು.
And the Pharisees came forth, and began to question with him, seeking from him a sign from heaven, tempting him.
12 ಯೇಸು ತಮ್ಮ ಆತ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ ನೊಂದುಕೊಂಡು, “ಈ ಸಂತತಿಯು ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವುದು ಏಕೆ? ಈ ಸಂತತಿಗೆ ಯಾವ ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯವೂ ಕೊಡಲಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ,” ಎಂದರು.
And he sighed deeply in his spirit, and saith, Why doth this generation seek for a sign? Verily I say to you, There shall no sign be given to this generation.
13 ಯೇಸು ಅವರನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ತಿರುಗಿ ದೋಣಿಯನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿ ಆಚೆದಡಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟು ಹೋದರು.
And he left them, and entering into the boat again, departed to the other side.
14 ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಬುತ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮರೆತಿದ್ದರು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ದೋಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಒಂದೇ ಒಂದು ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ಇತ್ತು.
Now [the disciples] had forgotten to take bread, neither had they in the boat with them more than one loaf.
15 ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಫರಿಸಾಯರ ಹುಳಿಹಿಟ್ಟಿನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಹೆರೋದನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನೀವು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆಯಿಂದಿರಿ,” ಎಂದು ಖಂಡಿತವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
And he charged them saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and [of] the leaven of Herod.
16 ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮೊಳಗೆ, “ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ಇಲ್ಲದಿರುವುದರಿಂದಲೇ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿರಬೇಕು,” ಎಂದು ಚರ್ಚಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು.
And they reasoned among themselves, saying, [It is] because we have no bread.
17 ಯೇಸು ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ್ದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ಇಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಏಕೆ ಚರ್ಚಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೀರಿ? ನೀವು ಇನ್ನೂ ಕಾಣದೆಯೂ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳದೆಯೂ ಇದ್ದೀರೋ? ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಕಠಿಣ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೀರೋ?
And when Jesus knew [it], he saith to them, Why reason ye, because ye have no bread? perceive ye not yet, neither understand? have ye your heart yet hardened?
18 ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳಿದ್ದೂ ನೀವು ಕಾಣುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ಕಿವಿಗಳಿದ್ದೂ ನೀವು ಕೇಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ?
Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember?
19 ನಾನು ಆ ಐದು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳನ್ನು ಐದು ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುರಿದಾಗ ಎಷ್ಟು ಬುಟ್ಟಿಗಳ ತುಂಬ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯ ತುಂಡುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿದಿರಿ ಎಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ನೆನಪಿಲ್ಲವೇ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು ಅವರು ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ, “ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ಬುಟ್ಟಿಗಳು,” ಎಂದರು.
When I divided the five loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? They say to him, Twelve.
20 “ಆ ಏಳು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳನ್ನು ನಾಲ್ಕು ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುರಿದಾಗ ಎಷ್ಟು ಬುಟ್ಟಿಗಳ ತುಂಬ ತುಂಡುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿದಿರಿ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು ಅವರು, “ಏಳು ಬುಟ್ಟಿಗಳು,” ಎಂದರು.
And when the seven among four thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? And they said, Seven.
21 ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ನೀವು ಇನ್ನೂ ಗ್ರಹಿಸದೆ ಇರುವುದು ಹೇಗೆ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದರು.
And he said to them, How is it that ye do not understand?
22 ಯೇಸು ಬೇತ್ಸಾಯಿದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ, ಕೆಲವರು ಒಬ್ಬ ಕುರುಡನನ್ನು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟಬೇಕೆಂದು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡರು.
And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man to him, and besought him to touch him.
23 ಯೇಸು ಆ ಕುರುಡನ ಕೈಹಿಡಿದು ಊರ ಹೊರಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ, ಅವನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಉಗುಳಿ ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಕೈಯಿಟ್ಟು, “ನಿನಗೆ ಏನಾದರೂ ಕಾಣುತ್ತದೋ?” ಎಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದರು.
And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw aught.
24 ಅವನು ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ನೋಡಿ, “ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಮರಗಳ ಹಾಗೆ ಕಾಣುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆದರೂ ಅವರು ನಡೆದಾಡುವುದನ್ನು ನೋಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ,” ಎಂದನು.
And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees walking.
25 ತರುವಾಯ ಯೇಸು ತಿರುಗಿ ಅವನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಕೈಗಳನ್ನಿಟ್ಟರು. ಆಗ ಅವನು ಗುಣಹೊಂದಿದವನಾಗಿ ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಬಹುಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ಕಂಡನು.
After that, he put [his] hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.
26 ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಊರೊಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಡ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಮನೆಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟರು.
And he sent him away to his house, saying, Neither go into the town, nor tell [it] to any in the town.
27 ಯೇಸುವೂ ಅವರ ಶಿಷ್ಯರೂ ಕೈಸರೈಯ ಫಿಲಿಪ್ಪಿ ಊರುಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದರು. ಯೇಸು ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ, “ನಾನು ಯಾರೆಂದು ಜನರು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದರು.
And Jesus went out, and his disciples, into the towns of Cesarea Philippi: and by the way he asked his disciples, saying to them, Who do men say that I am?
28 ಅವರು, “ಕೆಲವರು ಸ್ನಾನಿಕನಾದ ಯೋಹಾನನು, ಮತ್ತೆ ಕೆಲವರು ಎಲೀಯನು, ಇನ್ನು ಕೆಲವರು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
And they answered, John the Baptist: but some [say], Elijah; and others, One of the prophets,
29 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಆದರೆ ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಯಾರೆನ್ನುತ್ತೀರಿ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು, ಪೇತ್ರನು ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನೇ,” ಎಂದನು.
And he saith to them, But who say ye that I am? And Peter answereth and saith to him, Thou art the Christ.
30 ತಮ್ಮ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಅವರು ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಹೇಳಬಾರದೆಂದು ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಖಂಡಿತವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
And he charged them that they should tell no man of him.
31 ಮನುಷ್ಯಪುತ್ರನಾದ ನಾನು ಅನೇಕ ಬಾಧೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸಿ, ಹಿರಿಯರಿಂದಲೂ ಮುಖ್ಯಯಾಜಕರಿಂದಲೂ ನಿಯಮ ಬೋಧಕರಿಂದಲೂ ತಿರಸ್ಕೃತನಾಗಿ ಕೊಲೆಗೆ ಗುರಿಯಾಗಿ ಮೂರು ದಿವಸಗಳಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಜೀವಂತವಾಗಿ ಎದ್ದು ಬರುವುದು ಅವಶ್ಯ ಎಂದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬೋಧಿಸಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು.
And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, and the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.
32 ಯೇಸು ಆ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಪೇತ್ರನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕವಾಗಿ ಕರೆದು ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದನು.
And he spoke that saying openly. And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him.
33 ಆದರೆ ಯೇಸು ತಿರುಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಶಿಷ್ಯರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ನೋಡಿ ಪೇತ್ರನನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸಿ, “ಸೈತಾನನೇ, ನನ್ನಿಂದ ತೊಲಗಿಹೋಗು! ನಿನ್ನ ಆಲೋಚನೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರದೇ ಹೊರತು ದೇವರದಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
But when he had turned about, and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savorest not the things that are of God, but the things that are of men.
34 ಯೇಸು ಜನರನ್ನೂ ಶಿಷ್ಯರನ್ನೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕರೆದು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಯಾರಿಗಾದರೂ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಲು ಮನಸ್ಸಿದ್ದರೆ, ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನಿರಾಕರಿಸಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಶಿಲುಬೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಲಿ.
And when he had called the people [to him] with his disciples also, he said to them, Whoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
35 ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುವವರು ಅದನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು. ಆದರೆ ನನ್ನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿಯೂ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿಯೂ ಯಾರು ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವರೋ ಅವರು ಅದನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು.
For whoever will save his life, shall lose it; but whoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.
36 ಒಬ್ಬ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಲೋಕವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವಂತ ಆತ್ಮವನ್ನೇ ನಷ್ಟಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಲಾಭವೇನು?
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul:
37 ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಆತ್ಮಕ್ಕೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಏನು ಕೊಡುವರು?
Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
38 ಯಾರಾದರೂ ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರದ ಈ ಪಾಪಿಷ್ಠ ಸಂತತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ಮತ್ತು ನನ್ನ ಮಾತುಗಳ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ನಾಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವರೋ ಅವರ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯಪುತ್ರನಾದ ನಾನು ಸಹ ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಮಹಿಮೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ದೂತರೊಡನೆ ಬರುವಾಗ ನಾಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವೆನು,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
Whoever therefore shall be ashamed of me, and of my words, in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also will the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
