ಮಾರ್ಕನು 10
1 ಯೇಸು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ನದಿಯ ಆಚೆಯ ಯೂದಾಯ ಪ್ರಾಂತಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದರು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರು ತಿರುಗಿ ಅವರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರಲು, ಯೇಸು ತಮ್ಮ ವಾಡಿಕೆಯಂತೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಬೋಧಿಸಿದರು.
And he arose from thence, and cometh into the borders of Judaea and beyond Jordan: and multitudes come together unto him again; and, as he was wont, he taught them again.
2 ಫರಿಸಾಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ, “ಒಬ್ಬ ಪುರುಷನು ತನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡುವುದು ಧರ್ಮಸಮ್ಮತವೋ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದರು.
And there came unto him Pharisees, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away [his] wife? tempting him.
3 ಯೇಸು ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಮೋಶೆಯು ನಿಮಗೆ ಏನು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಟ್ಟನು?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದರು.
And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you?
4 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರು, “ವಿವಾಹ ವಿಚ್ಛೇದನ ಪತ್ರವನ್ನು ಬರೆದುಕೊಟ್ಟು ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಮೋಶೆಯು ಅನುಮತಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು,” ಎಂದರು.
And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away.
5 ಯೇಸು ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಮೋಶೆಯು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯ ಕಾಠಿಣ್ಯದ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಈ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಬರೆದನು.
But Jesus said unto them, For your hardness of heart he wrote you this commandment.
6 ಆದರೆ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭದಿಂದಲೇ ದೇವರು, ‘ಅವರನ್ನು ಗಂಡು ಹೆಣ್ಣಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದರು.’
But from the beginning of the creation, Male and female made he them.
7 ‘ಈ ಕಾರಣದಿಂದ ಪುರುಷನು ತಂದೆತಾಯಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ತನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು.
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife;
8 ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರೂ ಒಂದೇ ಶರೀರವಾಗಿರುವರು.’ ಹೀಗೆ ಅವರು ಇನ್ನು ಇಬ್ಬರಲ್ಲ, ಒಂದೇ ಶರೀರವಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
and the twain shall become one flesh: so that they are no more twain, but one flesh.
9 ಆದಕಾರಣ ದೇವರು ಕೂಡಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಅಗಲಿಸಬಾರದು,” ಎಂದರು.
What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
10 ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅದೇ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಕೇಳಿದರು.
And in the house the disciples asked him again of this matter.
11 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ತನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬಳನ್ನು ಮದುವೆಯಾದರೆ, ಅವಳಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರ ಮಾಡುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her:
12 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಒಬ್ಬ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ತನ್ನ ಗಂಡನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬೇರೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಮದುವೆಯಾದರೆ, ಅವಳು ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರ ಮಾಡುವವಳಾಗಿದ್ದಾಳೆ,” ಎಂದರು.
and if she herself shall put away her husband, and marry another, she committeth adultery.
13 ಕೆಲವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಚಿಕ್ಕಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಯೇಸು ಮುಟ್ಟಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅವರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಂದರು. ಆದರೆ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಜನರನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸಿದರು.
And they brought unto him little children, that he should touch them: and the disciples rebuked them.
14 ಯೇಸು ಅದನ್ನು ಕಂಡಾಗ ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಚಿಕ್ಕಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರಲು ಬಿಡಿರಿ. ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಿಮಾಡಬೇಡಿರಿ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯವು ಇಂಥವರದೇ.
But when Jesus saw it, he was moved with indignation, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me; forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
15 ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ, ಯಾರಾದರೂ ಚಿಕ್ಕಮಗುವಿನಂತೆ ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸದಿದ್ದರೆ, ಅವರು ಅದರೊಳಗೆ ಸೇರುವುದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದರು.
Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall in no wise enter therein.
16 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಯೇಸು ಆ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ತಮ್ಮ ಕೈಗಳನ್ನು ಅವುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಟ್ಟು ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸಿದರು.
And he took them in his arms, and blessed them, laying his hands upon them.
17 ಯೇಸು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಓಡುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದು ಅವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಮೊಣಕಾಲೂರಿ, “ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಬೋಧಕರೇ, ನಾನು ನಿತ್ಯಜೀವವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತಿಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಏನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು?” ಎಂದು ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದನು. (aiōnios g166)
And as he was going forth into the way, there ran one to him, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? (aiōnios g166)
18 ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವನೆಂದು ಏಕೆ ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಿ? ದೇವರೊಬ್ಬನೇ ಹೊರತು ಬೇರೆ ಯಾರೂ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವರಲ್ಲ.
And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good save one, [even] God.
19 ‘ನರಹತ್ಯೆ ಮಾಡಬಾರದು, ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರ ಮಾಡಬಾರದು, ಕದಿಯಬಾರದು, ಸುಳ್ಳುಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಹೇಳಬಾರದು, ಮೋಸಮಾಡಬಾರದು, ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆತಾಯಿಗಳನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸಬೇಕು,’ ಎಂಬ ಈ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳು ನಿನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿವೆಯಲ್ಲಾ,” ಎಂದರು.
Thou knowest the commandments, Do not kill, Do not commit adultery, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Do not defraud, Honour thy father and mother.
20 ಅವನು, “ಬೋಧಕರೇ, ನಾನು ಇವೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಬಾಲ್ಯದಿಂದಲೇ ಅನುಸರಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
And he said unto him, Master, all these things have I observed from my youth.
21 ಯೇಸು ಅವನನ್ನು ದೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿ ನೋಡುತ್ತಾ ಅವನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನಿನಗೆ ಒಂದು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಇದೆ. ನೀನು ಹೋಗಿ ನಿನಗೆ ಇರುವುದೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನು ಮಾರಿ ಬಡವರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡು; ಆಗ ಪರಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನಗೆ ಸಂಪತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ನೀನು ಬಂದು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸು,” ಎಂದರು.
And Jesus looking upon him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.
22 ಆ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಅವನು ವ್ಯಸನಗೊಂಡು ದುಃಖದಿಂದ ಹೊರಟುಹೋದನು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬಹಳ ಆಸ್ತಿ ಇತ್ತು.
But his countenance fell at the saying, and he went away sorrowful: for he was one that had great possessions.
23 ಯೇಸು ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ನೋಡಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ, “ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತರು ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರುವುದು ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಕಷ್ಟ!” ಎಂದರು.
And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
24 ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಗೆ ಬೆರಗಾದರು. ಆದರೆ ಯೇಸು ತಿರುಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಮಕ್ಕಳೇ, ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸುವುದು ಬಹಳ ಕಷ್ಟ.
And the disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
25 ಒಬ್ಬ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನು ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಒಂಟೆಯು ಸೂಜಿಯ ಕಣ್ಣಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನುಗ್ಗುವುದು ಸುಲಭ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
It is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
26 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯಪಟ್ಟು ತಮ್ಮೊಳಗೆ, “ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ಯಾರು ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಹೊಂದುವವರು?” ಎಂದುಕೊಂಡರು.
And they were astonished exceedingly, saying unto him, Then who can be saved?
27 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೇಸು ಅವರನ್ನು ದೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿ ನೋಡಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಮನುಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಇದು ಅಸಾಧ್ಯ, ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಅಲ್ಲ, ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಸಾಧ್ಯ,” ಎಂದರು.
Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for all things are possible with God.
28 ಪೇತ್ರನು ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ, “ಇಗೋ, ನಾವು ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿದ್ದೇವೆ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದನು.
Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.
29 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೇಸು, “ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಸತ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ; ಯಾರಾದರೂ ನನ್ನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿಯೂ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿಯೂ ಮನೆಯನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಸಹೋದರರನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಸಹೋದರಿಯರನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ತಂದೆಯನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ತಾಯಿಯನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಹೊಲವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಟ್ಟರೆ,
Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or mother, or father, or children, or lands, for my sake, and for the gospel’s sake,
31 ಆದರೆ ಮೊದಲನೆಯವರಾದ ಅನೇಕರು ಕಡೆಯವರಾಗುವರು, ಕಡೆಯವರಾದವರು ಮೊದಲಿನವರಾಗುವರು,” ಎಂದರು.
But many [that are] first shall be last; and the last first.
32 ಅವರು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವ ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದರು. ಯೇಸು ಅವರ ಮುಂದಾಗಿ ಹೋದದ್ದರಿಂದ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯಪಟ್ಟರು. ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದವರು ಭಯಪಟ್ಟರು. ಯೇಸು ತಮ್ಮ ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಕರೆದು ತನಗೆ ಸಂಭವಿಸುವ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು:
And they were in the way, going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus was going before them: and they were amazed; and they that followed were afraid. And he took again the twelve, and began to tell them the things that were to happen unto him,
33 “ಇಗೋ, ನಾವು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯಪುತ್ರನಾದ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಮುಖ್ಯಯಾಜಕರ ಮತ್ತು ನಿಯಮ ಬೋಧಕರ ಕೈಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಡುವರು. ಅವರು ನನಗೆ ಮರಣದಂಡನೆಯನ್ನು ವಿಧಿಸಿ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಲ್ಲದವರಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುವರು.
[saying], Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests and the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him unto the Gentiles:
34 ಇವರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಾಸ್ಯಮಾಡಿ, ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಉಗುಳಿ, ಕೊರಡೆಯಿಂದ ಹೊಡೆದು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕುವರು. ನಾನಾದರೋ ಮೂರು ದಿನದ ಮೇಲೆ ಜೀವಿತನಾಗಿ ಎದ್ದು ಬರುವೆನು,” ಎಂದರು.
and they shall mock him, and shall spit upon him, and shall scourge him, and shall kill him; and after three days he shall rise again.
35 ಆಗ ಜೆಬೆದಾಯನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾದ ಯಾಕೋಬ ಮತ್ತು ಯೋಹಾನರು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು, “ಬೋಧಕರೇ, ನಾವು ಕೇಳುವುದನ್ನು ನೀವು ನಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು,” ಎಂದರು.
And there come near unto him James and John, the sons of Zebedee, saying unto him, Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall ask of thee.
36 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಏನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತೀರಿ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದರು.
And he said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you?
37 ಅವರು ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ, “ನಾವು ನಿನ್ನ ಮಹಿಮೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಲಗಡೆಯಲ್ಲೂ ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಎಡಗಡೆಯಲ್ಲೂ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ನಮಗೆ ಅನುಗ್ರಹಿಸಬೇಕು,” ಎಂದರು.
And they said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and one on [thy] left hand, in thy glory.
38 ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡದ್ದು ಏನೆಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯದು. ನಾನು ಕುಡಿಯುವ ಪಾತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವೂ ಕುಡಿಯುವಿರೋ? ನಾನು ಪಡೆಯಲಿರುವ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನವನ್ನು ನೀವೂ ಪಡೆಯುವಿರೋ?” ಎಂದರು.
But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink the cup that I drink? or to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?
39 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರು, “ಹೌದು, ನಮ್ಮಿಂದಾಗುವುದು,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನಾನು ಕುಡಿಯುವ ಪಾತ್ರೆಯಿಂದ ನೀವು ಕುಡಿಯುವಿರಿ. ನಾನು ಹೊಂದುವ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನವನ್ನು ನೀವೂ ಹೊಂದುವಿರಿ.
And they said unto him, We are able. And Jesus said unto them, The cup that I drink ye shall drink; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized:
40 ಆದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಬಲಗಡೆಯಲ್ಲಾಗಲಿ ಎಡಗಡೆಯಲ್ಲಾಗಲಿ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಅನುಗ್ರಹಿಸುವುದು ನನ್ನದಲ್ಲ. ಅದು ಯಾರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿದೆಯೋ ಅವರಿಗೇ ಕೊಡಲಾಗುವುದು,” ಎಂದರು.
but to sit on my right hand or on [my] left hand is not mine to give: but [it is for them] for whom it hath been prepared.
41 ಆ ಹತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಇದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ, ಯಾಕೋಬ ಮತ್ತು ಯೋಹಾನರ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡರು.
And when the ten heard it, they began to be moved with indignation concerning James and John.
42 ಯೇಸು ಶಿಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಹತ್ತಿರಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆದು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಆಳುವವರು ಎಂದೆನಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವರು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಲ್ಲದವರ ಮೇಲೆ ದೊರೆತನ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಉನ್ನತ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆಂದು ನೀವು ಬಲ್ಲಿರಿ.
And Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles lord it over them; and their great ones exercise authority over them.
43 ಆದರೆ ನೀವು ಹಾಗಿರಬಾರದು. ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ದೊಡ್ಡವನಾಗಿರಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುವವನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸೇವಕನಾಗಿರಲಿ.
But it is not so among you: but whosoever would become great among you, shall be your minister:
44 ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ಪ್ರಮುಖನಾಗಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದರೆ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ದಾಸನಾಗಿರಲಿ.
and whosoever would be first among you, shall be servant of all.
45 ಮನುಷ್ಯಪುತ್ರನಾದ ನಾನು ಸಹ ಸೇವೆಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲ, ಸೇವೆಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿಯೂ ಅನೇಕರಿಗಾಗಿ ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಈಡಾಗಿ ಕೊಡುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿಯೂ ಬಂದಿದ್ದೇನೆ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
For verily the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
46 ತರುವಾಯ ಅವರು ಯೆರಿಕೋವಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು. ಯೇಸು ತಮ್ಮ ಶಿಷ್ಯರೊಡನೆಯೂ ಅಸಂಖ್ಯಾತ ಜನರೊಡನೆಯೂ ಯೆರಿಕೋವಿನಿಂದ ಹೊರಟಾಗ ತಿಮಾಯನ ಮಗ ಕುರುಡ ಬಾರ್ತಿಮಾಯನು ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡು ಭಿಕ್ಷೆಬೇಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
And they come to Jericho: and as he went out from Jericho, with his disciples and a great multitude, the son of Timaeus, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the way side.
47 ನಜರೇತಿನ ಯೇಸು ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಅವನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ, “ಯೇಸುವೇ, ದಾವೀದನ ಪುತ್ರನೇ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕರುಣಿಸು,” ಎಂದು ಕೂಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದನು.
And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.
48 ಸುಮ್ಮನಿರುವಂತೆ ಅನೇಕರು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಒತ್ತಾಯಪಡಿಸಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿ, “ದಾವೀದನ ಪುತ್ರನೇ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕರುಣಿಸು,” ಎಂದು ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಕೂಗಿದನು.
And many rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried out the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.
49 ಯೇಸು ನಿಂತು, ಅವನನ್ನು ಕರೆಯಬೇಕೆಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಲು, ಅವರು ಆ ಕುರುಡನನ್ನು ಕರೆದು, “ಧೈರ್ಯವಾಗಿರು, ಏಳು, ಯೇಸು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ,” ಎಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
And Jesus stood still, and said, Call ye him. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good cheer: rise, he calleth thee.
50 ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಮೇಲಂಗಿಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕಿ ತಟ್ಟನೆ ಎದ್ದು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದನು.
And he, casting away his garment, sprang up, and came to Jesus.
51 ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಏನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ನೀನು ಕೋರುತ್ತೀ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು, ಆ ಕುರುಡನು ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ, “ಗುರುವೇ, ನನಗೆ ಕಣ್ಣು ಕಾಣುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು,” ಎಂದನು.
And Jesus answered him, and said, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? And the blind man said unto him, Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.
52 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಹೋಗು, ನಿನ್ನ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯೇ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಸ್ವಸ್ಥಪಡಿಸಿದೆ,” ಎಂದರು. ಕೂಡಲೇ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದು, ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿದನು.
And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And straightway he received his sight, and followed him in the way.
