ಲೂಕನು 7
1 ತಮ್ಮ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಕೇಳುವಂತೆ ಹೇಳಿ ಮುಗಿಸಿದ ಮೇಲೆ, ಯೇಸು ಕಪೆರ್ನೌಮಿಗೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದರು.
Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum.
2 ಆಗ ಒಬ್ಬ ಶತಾಧಿಪತಿಗೆ, ಪ್ರಿಯನಾಗಿದ್ದ ಸೇವಕ, ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥನಾಗಿ ಸಾಯುವುದರಲ್ಲಿದ್ದನು.
And a certain centurion’s servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.
3 ಅವನು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ವಿಷಯ ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ, ಬಂದು ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನನ್ನು ಗುಣಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಹಿರಿಯರನ್ನು ಅವರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.
4 ಅವರು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ಇದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನು ಯೋಗ್ಯನು,
And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:
5 ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವನು ನಮ್ಮ ಜನಾಂಗವನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುವುದಲ್ಲದೆ ನಮಗಾಗಿ ಒಂದು ಸಭಾಮಂದಿರವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ,” ಎಂದು ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡರು.
For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.
6 ಯೇಸು ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹೋದರು. ಅವರು ಮನೆಗೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ದೂರ ಇರುವಾಗಲೇ ಶತಾಧಿಪತಿಯು ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರನ್ನು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ, “ಕರ್ತದೇವರೇ, ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತೊಂದರೆ ಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡಿರಿ, ನನ್ನ ಮನೆಯೊಳಗೆ ನೀವು ಬರುವಷ್ಟು ಯೋಗ್ಯತೆ ನನಗಿಲ್ಲ.
Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:
7 ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋಗ್ಯನೆಂದು ಎಣಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ನೀವು ಒಂದು ಮಾತು ಹೇಳಿರಿ, ಆಗ ನನ್ನ ಸೇವಕ ಗುಣಹೊಂದುವನು.
Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.
8 ನಾನು ಸಹ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯ ಕೈಕೆಳಗಿರುವವನು, ನನ್ನ ಅಧೀನದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸೈನಿಕರಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮತ್ತು ನಾನು ಒಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ, ‘ಹೋಗು,’ ಎಂದರೆ ಅವನು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ‘ಬಾ,’ ಎಂದರೆ ಅವನು ಬರುತ್ತಾನೆ. ನನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಿಗೆ, ‘ಇದನ್ನು ಮಾಡು,’ ಎಂದರೆ ಅವನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
9 ಯೇಸು ಅವನ ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ, ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯಪಟ್ಟು ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಗುಂಪಿಗೆ, “ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುವುದೇನೆಂದರೆ, ಇಂಥ ಮಹಾ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ನಾನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸಹ ಕಾಣಲಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದರು.
When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
10 ಶತಾಧಿಪತಿಯ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ಬಂದವರು ಮನೆಗೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿದಾಗ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥನಾಗಿದ್ದ ಆ ಸೇವಕ ಸ್ವಸ್ಥನಾಗಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡರು.
And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.
11 ಇದಾದ ಮೇಲೆ, ಯೇಸು ನಾಯಿನ್ ಎಂಬ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದರು. ಆಗ ಅವರ ಶಿಷ್ಯರೂ ಜನರ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಗುಂಪೂ ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಹೋದರು.
And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.
12 ಯೇಸು ಪಟ್ಟಣ ದ್ವಾರದ ಸಮೀಪಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ, ಸತ್ತು ಹೋಗಿದ್ದ ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು, ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ತಾಯಿಗೆ ಒಬ್ಬನೇ ಮಗನು, ಆಕೆಯು ವಿಧವೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದಳು. ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಬಹಳ ಜನರು ಆಕೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಇದ್ದರು.
Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.
13 ಕರ್ತದೇವರು ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕಂಡು, ಆಕೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಕನಿಕರಪಟ್ಟು, “ಅಳಬೇಡ” ಎಂದರು.
And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.
14 ಅನಂತರ ಯೇಸು ಬಂದು ಶವದ ಚಟ್ಟವನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟಿದಾಗ, ಅದನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದವರು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಿಂತರು. ಆಗ ಯೇಸು, “ಯುವಕನೇ, ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ, ಎದ್ದೇಳು!” ಎಂದರು.
And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.
15 ಆಗ ಸತ್ತವನು ಎದ್ದು ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡು ಮಾತನಾಡಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದನು. ಯೇಸು ಅವನನ್ನು ಅವನ ತಾಯಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.
And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.
16 ಆಗ ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದವರಾಗಿ, “ನಮ್ಮ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಹಾ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯು ಎದ್ದಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ದೇವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯಮಾಡಲು ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ,” ಎಂದು ದೇವರನ್ನು ಮಹಿಮೆಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.
17 ಯೇಸುವಿನ ವಿಷಯವಾದ ಈ ಸುದ್ದಿಯು ಯೂದಾಯದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರಾಂತಕ್ಕೂ, ಸುತ್ತಲಿನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರಾಂತಕ್ಕೂ ಹರಡಿತು.
And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judæa, and throughout all the region round about.
18 ಯೋಹಾನನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಈ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಿಷಯಗಳನ್ನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಪಡಿಸಿದರು,
And the disciples of John shewed him of all these things.
19 ಆಗ ಯೋಹಾನನು ತನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಇಬ್ಬರನ್ನು ಕರೆದು, “ಬರಬೇಕಾದ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನು ನೀನೋ ಇಲ್ಲವೇ ನಾವು ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬನಿಗಾಗಿ ಎದುರು ನೋಡಬೇಕೋ?” ಎಂದು ಕರ್ತದೇವರನ್ನು ಕೇಳಲು ಅವರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
20 ಅವರು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು, “‘ಬರಬೇಕಾದವರು ನೀವೋ? ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ನಾವು ಬೇರೊಬ್ಬರಿಗಾಗಿ ಎದುರು ನೋಡಬೇಕೋ?’ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಸ್ನಾನಿಕ ಯೋಹಾನನು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
When the men were come unto him, they said, John the Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
21 ಅದೇ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ರೋಗಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ವ್ಯಾಧಿಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ದುರಾತ್ಮಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ಪೀಡಿತರಾದ ಅನೇಕರನ್ನು ಯೇಸು ಗುಣಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು, ಕುರುಡರಾದ ಅನೇಕರಿಗೆ ದೃಷ್ಟಿ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.
22 ತರುವಾಯ ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ಕಂಡು ಕೇಳಿದವುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೋಗಿ ಯೋಹಾನನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿರಿ: ಕುರುಡರು ನೋಡುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಕುಂಟರು ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಕುಷ್ಠರೋಗಿಗಳು ಶುದ್ಧರಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಕಿವುಡರು ಕೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಮರಣಹೊಂದಿದವರು ಜೀವ ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ ಮತ್ತು ಬಡವರಿಗೆ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆ ಸಾರಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.
23 ನನ್ನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳದವನೇ ಧನ್ಯನು,” ಎಂದರು.
And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.
24 ಯೋಹಾನನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಹೊರಟುಹೋದ ಮೇಲೆ, ಯೇಸು ಯೋಹಾನನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿ ಜನರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ಯಾವುದನ್ನು ಕಾಣುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಅರಣ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದಿರಿ? ಗಾಳಿಗೆ ಓಲಾಡುವ ದಂಟನ್ನೋ?
And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see? A reed shaken with the wind?
25 ಇಲ್ಲವಾದರೆ, ನೀವು ಏನನ್ನು ಕಾಣುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಹೋದಿರಿ? ನಯವಾದ ಉಡುಪನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿದ್ದ ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನೋ? ಶೋಭಾಯಮಾನವಾದ ಉಡುಪನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಸುಖವಾಗಿ ಜೀವಿಸುವವರು ಅರಮನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುತ್ತಾರೆ.
But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings’ courts.
26 ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ಏನು ಕಾಣುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಹೋದಿರಿ? ಒಬ್ಬ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯನ್ನೋ? ಹೌದು, ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನವನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದಿರಿ, ಎಂದು ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet.
27 ಯಾರ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಪವಿತ್ರ ವೇದದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದಿತ್ತೋ ಅವನೇ ಇವನು: “‘ಇಗೋ, ನಿನ್ನ ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡುವಂತೆ ನನ್ನ ದೂತನನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ,’
This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
28 ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುವುದೇನೆಂದರೆ, ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವರಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ನಾನಿಕ ಯೋಹಾನನಿಗಿಂತ ದೊಡ್ಡವನು ಇಲ್ಲ; ಆದರೆ ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಚಿಕ್ಕವನು ಅವನಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ದೊಡ್ಡವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ,” ಎಂದರು.
For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.
29 ಯೋಹಾನನಿಂದ ಉಪದೇಶ ಕೇಳಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರೂ ಸುಂಕದವರೂ ಸಹ, ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ, ದೇವರ ಮಾರ್ಗವು ಸರಿಯಾಗಿದೆಯೆಂದು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡರು, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವರು ಯೋಹಾನನಿಂದ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು.
And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.
30 ಆದರೆ ಫರಿಸಾಯರೂ ಮೋಶೆಯ ನಿಯಮ ಪಂಡಿತರೂ ಅವನಿಂದ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಹೋದದ್ದರಿಂದ ತಮ್ಮ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ದೇವರ ಸಂಕಲ್ಪವನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕಾರ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him.
31 ಅನಂತರ ಯೇಸು ಜನರಿಗೆ, “ಈ ಕಾಲದ ಜನರನ್ನು, ನಾನು ಯಾವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಲಿಸಲಿ? ಅವರು ಯಾವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಲಿಕೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ?
And the Lord said, Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?
32 ಅವರು ಸಂತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡು ಒಬ್ಬರನ್ನೊಬ್ಬರು ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಾ: “‘ನಾವು ನಿಮಗಾಗಿ ಕೊಳಲೂದಿದೆವು, ನೀವು ಕುಣಿಯಲಿಲ್ಲ, ನಾವು ನಿಮಗಾಗಿ ಶೋಕಗೀತೆ ಹಾಡಿದೆವು, ನೀವು ಅಳಲಿಲ್ಲ,’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಲಿಕೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.
33 “ಸ್ನಾನಿಕ ಯೋಹಾನನು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನದೆಯೂ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯದೆಯೂ ಬಂದನು, ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ನೀವು, ‘ಅವನಿಗೆ ದೆವ್ವ ಹಿಡಿದಿದೆ,’ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತೀರಿ.
For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil.
34 ಮನುಷ್ಯಪುತ್ರನಾದ ನಾನು ಅನ್ನಪಾನ ಸೇವಿಸುವವನಾಗಿ ಬಂದೆನು, ಆದರೆ ನೀವು, ‘ಇಗೋ, ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಬಾಕನು, ಕುಡುಕನು, ಸುಂಕದವರ ಮತ್ತು ಪಾಪಿಗಳ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತನು,’ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತೀರಿ.
The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!
35 ಆದರೆ ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಅನ್ವಯಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಾಗಲೇ ಜ್ಞಾನದ ಗುಣಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿರುವುದು,” ಎಂದರು.
But wisdom is justified of all her children.
36 ಆಗ ಫರಿಸಾಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಯೇಸು ತನ್ನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಊಟ ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸಿದನು, ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ಆ ಫರಿಸಾಯನ ಮನೆಯೊಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡರು.
And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to meat.
37 ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಫರಿಸಾಯನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯೇಸು ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆಂದು ಒಬ್ಬ ಪಾಪಿ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ತಿಳಿದು, ಸುಗಂಧ ತೈಲದ ಭರಣಿಯನ್ನು ತಂದು,
And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,
38 ಅವರ ಪಾದಗಳ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತು, ಅಳುತ್ತಾ ಅವರ ಪಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಕಣ್ಣೀರಿನಿಂದ ತೊಳೆಯಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿ, ತನ್ನ ತಲೆಕೂದಲಿನಿಂದ ಒರೆಸಿ, ಅವರ ಪಾದಗಳಿಗೆ ಮುದ್ದಿಟ್ಟು ಆ ತೈಲವನ್ನು ಹಚ್ಚಿದಳು.
And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.
39 ಆಗ ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಆಮಂತ್ರಿಸಿದ ಫರಿಸಾಯನು, ಅದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ತನ್ನೊಳಗೆ, “ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯ ಒಬ್ಬ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ, ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟುತ್ತಿದ್ದವಳು ಯಾರು, ಎಂಥಾ ಹೆಂಗಸು ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು. ಅವಳು ಒಬ್ಬ ಪಾಪಿ,” ಎಂದು ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡನು.
Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.
40 ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಸೀಮೋನನೇ, ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳಬೇಕಾದ ಒಂದು ವಿಷಯವಿದೆ,” ಎಂದರು. ಸೀಮೋನನು ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ, “ಗುರುವೇ, ಹೇಳಿ” ಎಂದನು.
And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on.
41 ಆಗ ಯೇಸು, “ಸಾಲಕೊಡುವ ಒಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಸಾಲಗಾರರಿದ್ದರು, ಒಬ್ಬನು ಐದು ನೂರು ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ ನಾಣ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನು ಐವತ್ತು ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ ನಾಣ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡಬೇಕಾಗಿತ್ತು.
There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.
42 ಆದರೆ ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರಿಗೂ ಸಾಲತೀರಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಹಣ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವನು ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರ ಸಾಲವನ್ನೂ ರದ್ದುಮಾಡಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುವರು?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದರು.
And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?
43 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಸೀಮೋನನು ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ, “ಯಾರಿಗೆ ಅವನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ರದ್ದು ಮಾಡಿದನೋ ಅವನೇ ಎಂದು ತೋರುತ್ತದೆ,” ಎಂದನು. ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ತೀರ್ಪು ಮಾಡಿದೆ,” ಎಂದರು.
Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.
44 ತರುವಾಯ ಯೇಸು ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಸೀಮೋನನಿಗೆ, “ಈ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯನ್ನು ಕಂಡಿದ್ದೀಯಾ? ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದಾಗ ನನ್ನ ಪಾದಗಳಿಗೆ ನೀನು ನೀರು ಕೊಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಇವಳಾದರೋ ನನ್ನ ಪಾದಗಳನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣೀರಿನಿಂದ ತೊಳೆದು ತನ್ನ ತಲೆಕೂದಲಿನಿಂದ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಒರೆಸಿದ್ದಾಳೆ.
And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.
45 ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ಮುದ್ದು ಕೊಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ಒಳಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗಿನಿಂದ ಈ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ನನ್ನ ಪಾದಗಳಿಗೆ ಮುದ್ದಿಡುವುದನ್ನು ಬಿಡಲಿಲ್ಲ.
Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.
46 ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ತಲೆಗೆ ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಹಚ್ಚಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಆದರೆ ಈ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ನನ್ನ ಪಾದಗಳಿಗೆ ಸುಗಂಧ ತೈಲವನ್ನು ಹಚ್ಚಿದ್ದಾಳೆ.
My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.
47 ಬಹಳವಾಗಿರುವ ಇವಳ ಪಾಪಗಳು ಕ್ಷಮಿಸಲಾಗಿವೆ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಇವಳು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿದಳು. ಆದರೆ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಕ್ಷಮೆ ಪಡೆದವನು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುವನು ಎಂದು ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ,” ಎಂದರು.
Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.
48 ಯೇಸು ಆಕೆಗೆ, “ನಿನ್ನ ಪಾಪಗಳು ಕ್ಷಮಿಸಲಾಗಿವೆ,” ಎಂದರು.
And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.
49 ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಸಂಗಡ ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ ಕುಳಿತವರು, “ಪಾಪಗಳನ್ನು ಸಹ ಕ್ಷಮಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಈತನು ಯಾರು?” ಎಂದು ತಮ್ಮತಮ್ಮೊಳಗೆ ಅಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು.
And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also?
50 ಯೇಸು ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಗೆ, “ನಿನ್ನ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿದೆ, ಸಮಾಧಾನದಿಂದ ಹೋಗು,” ಎಂದರು.
And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.
