ಲೂಕನು 3
1 ಕೈಸರ್ ತಿಬೇರಿಯನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯ ಕಾಲದ ಹದಿನೈದನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಪೊಂತ್ಯ ಪಿಲಾತನು ಯೂದಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಅಧಿಪತಿಯೂ ಹೆರೋದನು ಗಲಿಲಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಚತುರಾಧಿಪತಿಯೂ ಅವನ ಸಹೋದರ ಫಿಲಿಪ್ಪನು ಇತುರಾಯ ಮತ್ತು ತ್ರಕೋನಿತಿ ಸೀಮೆಗೆ ಚತುರಾಧಿಪತಿಯೂ ಲುಸನ್ಯನು ಅಬಿಲೇನೆಗೆ ಚತುರಾಧಿಪತಿಯೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾಗ,
Now, in the fifteenth year of the supremacy of Tiberius Caesar, —Pontius Pilate being governor of Judaea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and, Philip his brother, tetrarch of Ituraea and the country of Trachonitis, and Lysanius, tetrarch of Abylene, —
2 ಅನ್ನನು ಮತ್ತು ಕಾಯಫನು ಮಹಾಯಾಜಕರು ಆಗಿದ್ದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ, ಅರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಜಕರೀಯನ ಮಗ ಯೋಹಾನನಿಗೆ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವುಂಟಾಯಿತು.
in the High-priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, came a word of God unto John the son, of Zechariah, in rue desert;
3 ಅವನು ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ನದಿಯ ಸುತ್ತಲಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸೀಮೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು, ಪಾಪಗಳ ಪರಿಹಾರಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ದೇವರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಪಡೆಯುವದರ ಕುರಿತು ಸಾರಿ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
and he came into all the country about the Jordan, proclaiming an immersion of repentance into remission of sins:
4 ಇದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಯೆಶಾಯನ ಗ್ರಂಥದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಂಚಿತವಾಗಿ ಹೀಗೆಂದು ಬರೆದಿದೆ: “ಅರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಗುವವನ ಸ್ವರವು, ‘ಕರ್ತದೇವರ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿರಿ, ಅವರ ದಾರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸರಾಗಮಾಡಿರಿ.
as it is written in the book of the discourses of Isaiah the prophet: A voice of one crying aloud! In the desert, prepare ye the way of the Lord, straight, be making his paths;
5 ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಹಳ್ಳಕೊಳ್ಳಗಳೂ ಭರ್ತಿಯಾಗಬೇಕು, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಬೆಟ್ಟಗುಡ್ಡಗಳು ನೆಲಸಮವಾಗಬೇಕು; ಡೊಂಕಾದ ರಸ್ತೆಗಳು ನೆಟ್ಟಗಾಗಬೇಕು, ಮತ್ತು ಕೊರಕಲಾದ ದಾರಿಗಳು ಸರಾಗವಾಗಬೇಕು;
Every chasm, shall be filled up, and, every mountain and hill, be made low; and the, crooked, places shall become, straight, and the, rugged, places, smooth ways; —
6 ಮಾನವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ದೇವರ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯನ್ನು ಕಾಣುವರು.’”
And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.
7 ಆಗ ತನ್ನಿಂದ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಹೊರಟು ಬಂದ ಜನಸಮೂಹಕ್ಕೆ, ಯೋಹಾನನು, “ಎಲೈ ಸರ್ಪಸಂತತಿಯವರೇ! ಮುಂದೆ ಬರುವ ಕೋಪಾಗ್ನಿಯಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಸಿದವರು ಯಾರು?
He was saying, therefore, unto the multitudes who were going forth to be immersed by him—Broods of vipers! who suggested to you, to flee from the coming wrath?
8 ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ದೇವರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ತಕ್ಕ ಫಲಗಳನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಿರಿ. ‘ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ನಮಗೆ ತಂದೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ,’ ಎಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮೊಳಗೆ ಕೊಚ್ಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡಿರಿ. ಈ ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ದೇವರು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನಿಗೆ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಹುಟ್ಟಿಸಲು ಶಕ್ತರೆಂದು ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
Bring forth, therefore, fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to be saying within yourselves, As our father, we have, Abraham; for, I say unto you—God is able, out of these stones, to raise up children unto Abraham.
9 ಮರಗಳ ಬೇರಿಗೆ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಕೊಡಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದಿದೆ, ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಫಲವನ್ನು ಕೊಡದ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಮರವನ್ನು ಕಡಿದು ಬೆಂಕಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಲಾಗುವುದು,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
And, already, even the axe, unto the root of the trees is being laid; every tree, therefore, not bringing forth [good] fruit, is to be hewn down, and, into fire, to be cast.
10 ಆಗ ಜನರು, “ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ನಾವೇನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದರು.
And the multitude began to question him saying—What, then, shall we do?
11 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋಹಾನನು ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ, “ಎರಡು ಅಂಗಿಗಳಿದ್ದರೆ ಇಲ್ಲದವನಿಗೆ ಒಂದನ್ನು ಕೊಡಲಿ, ಆಹಾರವುಳ್ಳವನು ಇಲ್ಲದವನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹಂಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
And, answering, he said unto them—He that hath two tunics, let him share with him that hath none, and, he that hath food, in like manner, let him be doing.
12 ತರುವಾಯ ಸುಂಕದವರು ಸಹ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬಂದು ಯೋಹಾನನಿಗೆ, “ಬೋಧಕರೇ, ನಾವೇನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದರು.
And there came, even tax-collectors, to be immersed; and they said unto him—Teacher! what, shall we, do?
13 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋಹಾನನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನಿಮಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚೇನೂ ವಸೂಲಿ ಮಾಡಬೇಡಿರಿ,” ಎಂದನು.
And, he, said unto them, Nothing more than what is appointed you, exact ye.
14 ಅದರಂತೆಯೇ ಸೈನಿಕರು, “ನಾವೇನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದರು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋಹಾನನು, “ಯಾರನ್ನೂ ಬೆದರಿಸಿ ಹಣ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡಿರಿ. ಯಾರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಸುಳ್ಳು ದೂರು ಹೇಳಬೇಡಿರಿ. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂಬಳದಲ್ಲಿ ತೃಪ್ತರಾಗಿರಿ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
Then were questioning him, soldiers also, saying—What shall, even we, do? And he said unto them—Molest ye, no one, neither accuse falsely; and be content with your supplies.
15 ಆಗ ಜನರು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನಿಗಾಗಿ ಎದುರುನೋಡುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಯೋಹಾನನೇ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನಾಗಿರಬಹುದೋ ಏನೋ ಎಂದು ತಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಆಲೋಚಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
Now, as the people were in expectation, and all were deliberating in their hearts, concerning John, —whether by any means, he, might be, the Christ,
16 ಯೋಹಾನನು ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೆ: “ನಾನಂತೂ ನಿಮಗೆ ನೀರಿನಿಂದ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಆದರೆ ನನಗಿಂತ ಶಕ್ತರೊಬ್ಬರು ಬರುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಅವರ ಪಾದರಕ್ಷೆಗಳ ದಾರವನ್ನು ಬಿಚ್ಚುವ ಗುಲಾಮನಾಗಿರುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ನಾನು ಯೋಗ್ಯನಲ್ಲ. ಅವರು ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮನಿಂದಲೂ ಬೆಂಕಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ನಿಮಗೆ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿಸುವರು.
John answered, saying unto all—I, indeed, in water, am immersing you, but he that is mightier than I, cometh, the thong of whose sandals I am not worthy to unloose, —he, will immerse you in Holy Spirit and fire:
17 ಮೊರವು ಅವರ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿದೆ, ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಕಣವನ್ನು ಶುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿ ಗೋಧಿಯನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಕಣಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡಿಸುವರು. ಆದರೆ ಹೊಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಆರಿಸಲಾಗದ ಬೆಂಕಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಟ್ಟುಹಾಕುವರು,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
whose fan is in his hand, to clear out his threshing-floor, and to gather the wheat into his granary; but, the chaff, will he burn up with fire unquenchable.
18 ಯೋಹಾನನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಅನೇಕ ರೀತಿಗಳಿಂದ ಜನರನ್ನು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಸಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾರುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
So then indeed, as to many things and various, he exhorted, and continued telling his glad-message unto the people.
19 ಚತುರಾಧಿಪತಿಯಾದ ಹೆರೋದನು, ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರ ಫಿಲಿಪ್ಪನ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಹೆರೋದ್ಯಳನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು ಮತ್ತು ಹೆರೋದನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದುಷ್ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಯೋಹಾನನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಬಹಿರಂಗವಾಗಿ ಗದರಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ,
But, Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him concerning Herodias, the wife of his brother, and concerning all the wicked things Herod had done,
20 ಹೆರೋದನು ಯೋಹಾನನನ್ನು ಸೆರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂಧಿಸಿ, ತನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದುಷ್ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತೊಂದನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿದ್ದನು.
added this also unto all, —he locked up John in prison.
21 ಜನರೆಲ್ಲಾ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು, ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ಸಹ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ, ಸ್ವರ್ಗವು ತೆರೆಯಿತು.
Now it came to pass, when one and all the people were immersed, Jesus also, having been immersed, and being at prayer, heaven was opened;
22 ಆಗ ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮರು ದೇಹಾಕಾರವಾಗಿ ಪಾರಿವಾಳದಂತೆ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಳಿದರು. ಆಗ, “ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಿಯ ಪುತ್ರನು, ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಅಪಾರವಾಗಿ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿದ್ದೇನೆ,” ಎಂಬ ಧ್ವನಿಯು ಪರಲೋಕದಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿಬಂತು.
and the Holy Spirit descended, in bodily appearance, as a dove, upon him, —and, a voice out of heaven, came—Thou, art my Son, the Beloved, in thee, I delight.
23 ಯೇಸು ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದಾಗ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಮೂವತ್ತು ವರ್ಷದವರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಯೇಸು ಜನರ ಎಣಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋಸೇಫನ ಮಗನು. ಯೋಸೇಫನು, ಹೇಲೀಯ ಮಗನು,
And, Jesus himself, was, when he began, about thirty years of age, being the son, as was supposed—of Joseph, of Heli:
24 ಹೇಲೀಯನು ಮತ್ಥಾತನ ಮಗನು, ಮತ್ಥಾತನನು ಲೇವಿಯ ಮಗನು, ಲೇವಿಯನು ಮೆಲ್ಖಿಯ ಮಗನು, ಮೆಲ್ಖಿಯನು ಯನ್ನಾಯನ ಮಗನು, ಯನ್ನಾಯನು ಯೋಸೇಫನ ಮಗನು,
of Matthat, of Levi, of Melchi, —of Jannai, of Joseph:
25 ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಮತ್ತಥೀಯನ ಮಗನು, ಮತ್ತಥೀಯನು ಆಮೋಸನ ಮಗನು, ಆಮೋಸನು ನಹೂಮನ ಮಗನು, ನಹೂಮನು ಎಸ್ಲಿಯ ಮಗನು, ಎಸ್ಲಿಯನು ನಗ್ಗಾಯನ ಮಗನು,
of Mattathias, of Amos, of Nahum, —of Esli, of Naggai:
26 ನಗ್ಗಾಯನು ಮಹಾಥನ ಮಗನು, ಮಹಾಥನು ಮತ್ತಥೀಯನ ಮಗನು, ಮತ್ತಥೀಯನು ಶಿಮೀಯಿನ ಮಗನು, ಶಿಮೀಯಿನು ಯೊಸೇಖನ ಮಗನು, ಯೊಸೇಖನು ಯೋದನ ಮಗನು,
of Maath, of Mattathias, of Semein, —of Josech, of Joda:
27 ಯೋದನು ಯೋಹಾನನ ಮಗನು, ಯೋಹಾನನು ರೇಸನ ಮಗನು, ರೇಸನು ಜೆರುಬ್ಬಾಬೆಲನ ಮಗನು, ಜೆರುಬ್ಬಾಬೆಲನು ಶೆಯಲ್ತೀಯೇಲನ ಮಗನು, ಶೆಯಲ್ತಿಯೇಲನು ನೇರಿಯನ ಮಗನು,
of Joanan, of Rhesa, of Zerubbabel, —of Salathiel, of Neri:
28 ನೇರಿಯನು ಮೆಲ್ಖಿಯನ ಮಗನು, ಮೆಲ್ಖಿಯನು ಅದ್ದಿಯನ ಮಗನು, ಅದ್ದಿಯನು ಕೋಸಾಮನ ಮಗನು, ಕೋಸಾಮನು ಎಲ್ಮದಾಮನ ಮಗನು, ಎಲ್ಮದಾಮನು ಏರನ ಮಗನು,
of Melchi, of Addi, of Cosam, —of Elmadam, of Er:
29 ಏರನು ಯೆಹೋಷುವನ ಮಗನು, ಯೆಹೋಷುವನು ಎಲೀಯೆಜೆರನ ಮಗನು, ಎಲಿಯೇಜರನು ಯೋರೈಮನ ಮಗನು, ಯೋರೈಮನು ಮತ್ಥಾತನ ಮಗನು, ಮತ್ಥಾತನು ಲೇವಿಯನ ಮಗನು,
of Jesus, of Eliezer, of Jorim, —of Matthat, of Levi:
30 ಲೇವಿಯನು ಸಿಮಿಯೋನನ ಮಗನು, ಸಿಮಿಯೋನನು ಯೂದನ ಮಗನು, ಯೂದನು ಯೋಸೇಫನ ಮಗನು, ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಯೋನಾಮನ ಮಗನು, ಯೋನಾಮನು ಎಲಿಯಕೀಮನ ಮಗನು,
of Symeon, of Judas, of Joseph, —of Jonam, of Eliakim:
31 ಎಲಿಯಕೀಮನು ಮೆಲೆಯಾನ ಮಗನು, ಮೆಲೆಯಾನು ಮೆನ್ನನ ಮಗನು, ಮೆನ್ನನು ಮತ್ತಾಥನ ಮಗನು, ಮತ್ತಾಥನು ನಾತಾನನ ಮಗನು, ನಾತಾನನು ದಾವೀದನ ಮಗನು,
of Melea, of Menna, of Mattatha, —of Natham, of David:
32 ದಾವೀದನು ಇಷಯನ ಮಗನು, ಇಷಯನು ಓಬೇದನ ಮಗನು, ಓಬೇದನು ಬೋವಜನ ಮಗನು, ಬೋವಜನು ಸಲ್ಮೋನನ ಮಗನು, ಸಲ್ಮೋನನು ನಹಶೋನನ ಮಗನು,
of Jesse, of Obed, of Boaz, —of Salmon, of Nashon:
33 ನಹಶೋನನು ಅಮ್ಮೀನಾದಾಬನ ಮಗನು, ಅಮ್ಮೀನಾದಾಬನು ಆರ್ನೈಯನ ಮಗನು, ಆರ್ನೈಯನು ಹೆಚ್ರೋನನ ಮಗನು, ಹೆಚ್ರೋನನು ಪೆರೆಸನ ಮಗನು, ಪೆರೆಸನು ಯೂದನ ಮಗನು,
of Amminadab, of Arni, of Hezron, —of Perez, of Judah:
34 ಯೂದನು ಯಾಕೋಬನ ಮಗನು, ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಇಸಾಕನ ಮಗನು, ಇಸಾಕನು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನ ಮಗನು, ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ತೇರನ ಮಗನು, ತೇರನು ನಹೋರನ ಮಗನು,
of Jacob, of Isaac, of Abraham, —of Terah, of Nahor:
35 ನಹೋರನು ಸೆರೂಗನ ಮಗನು, ಸೆರೂಗನು ರೆಗೂವನ ಮಗನು, ರೆಗೂವನು ಪೆಲೆಗನ ಮಗನು, ಪೆಲೆಗನು ಹೆಬೆರನ ಮಗನು, ಹೆಬೆರನು ಶೆಲಹ ಮಗನು,
of Serug, of Reu, of Peleg, —of Eber, of Shelah:
36 ಶೆಲಹ ಕಯಿನಾನನ ಮಗನು, ಕಯಿನಾನನು ಅರ್ಫಕ್ಷಾದನ ಮಗನು, ಅರ್ಫಕ್ಷಾದನು ಶೇಮನ ಮಗನು, ಶೇಮನು ನೋಹನ ಮಗನು, ನೋಹನು ಲಾಮೆಕನ ಮಗನು,
of Cainan, of Arphaxad, of Shem, —of Noah, of Lamech:
37 ಲಾಮೆಕನು ಮತೂಷಲನ ಮಗನು, ಮತೂಷಲನು ಹನೋಕನ ಮಗನು, ಹನೋಕನು ಯೆರೆದನ ಮಗನು, ಯೆರೆದನು ಮಹಲಲೇಲನ ಮಗನು, ಮಹಲಲೇಲನು ಕಯಿನಾನನ ಮಗನು,
of Methuselah, of Enoch, of Jared, —of Mahalaleel, of Cainan:
38 ಕಯಿನಾನನು ಎನೋಷನ ಮಗನು, ಎನೋಷನು ಸೇಥನ ಮಗನು, ಸೇತನು ಆದಾಮನ ಮಗನು, ಆದಾಮನು ದೇವರ ಮಗನು.
of Enos, of Seth, —of Adam; of God.
