ಲೂಕನು 23
1 ಆಗ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡಿದ್ದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಎದ್ದು ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಪಿಲಾತನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದರು.
And the whole number of them arose, and led him away to Pilate.
2 ಅವರು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ದೂರು ಹೇಳಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿ, “ಈ ನಮ್ಮ ಜನಾಂಗವು ದಂಗೆಯೇಳುವಂತೆಯೂ ತಾನೇ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನೆಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬ ಅರಸನಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದೂ ಹೇಳಿ ಕೈಸರನಿಗೆ ತೆರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡದಂತೆ ಈತನು ಅಡ್ಡಿಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವುದನ್ನೂ ನಾವು ಕಂಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ,” ಎಂದರು.
And they began to accuse him, saying: We found this man turning the people away, and forbidding to give tribute to Cæsar, saying that he himself is Christ, a king.
3 ಆಗ ಪಿಲಾತನು ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಅರಸನೋ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವೇ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀರಿ,” ಎಂದರು.
And Pilate asked him, saying: Are you the king of the Jews? He answered and said to him: You say it.
4 ತರುವಾಯ ಪಿಲಾತನು, ಮುಖ್ಯಯಾಜಕರಿಗೂ ಜನರಿಗೂ, “ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಯಾವ ತಪ್ಪನ್ನೂ ಕಾಣಲಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದನು.
Pilate said to the chief priests and to the multitudes: I find no fault in this man.
5 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರು, “ಈತನು ಗಲಿಲಾಯ ಪ್ರಾಂತ ಮೊದಲುಗೊಂಡು ಈ ಸ್ಥಳದವರೆಗೂ ಯೂದಾಯ ಪ್ರಾಂತದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಡೆಗೂ ಬೋಧಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ಜನರನ್ನು ಕ್ರಾಂತಿಗೆ ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ,” ಎಂದು ಒತ್ತಾಯ ಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
But they became the more urgent, and said: He excites the people, teaching throughout the whole of Judea, beginning from Galilee to this place.
6 ಪಿಲಾತನು ಗಲಿಲಾಯದ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ, “ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಗಲಿಲಾಯದವನೋ?” ಎಂದು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿದನು.
When Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked if the man was a Galilean.
7 ಯೇಸು ಹೆರೋದನ ಅಧಿಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಪಟ್ಟವನೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಅದೇ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಇದ್ದ ಹೆರೋದನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
And when he learned that he belonged to the dominion of Herod, he sent him to Herod, who was at that time in Jerusalem.
8 ಹೆರೋದನು ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಕಂಡಾಗ, ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸಂತೋಷಪಟ್ಟನು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವನು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಅನೇಕ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಾಣಲು ಬಹಳ ಕಾಲದಿಂದ ಆಶೆಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದನು. ಅವರಿಂದಾಗುವ ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕಾಣಲು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
When Herod saw Jesus, he rejoiced greatly; for he had, for a long time, desired to see him, because he had heard many things of him; and he hoped to see some sign done by him.
9 ಅವನು ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಅನೇಕ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದರೂ ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಏನೂ ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಡಲಿಲ್ಲ.
And he questioned him concerning many things; but he made him no answer.
10 ಮುಖ್ಯಯಾಜಕರೂ ನಿಯಮ ಬೋಧಕರು ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡು ಬಲವಾಗಿ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ದೂರುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
And the chief priests and the scribes stood by, and vehemently accused him.
11 ಆಗ ಹೆರೋದನು ತನ್ನ ಸೈನಿಕರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸಿ, ಹಾಸ್ಯಮಾಡಿ, ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ರಾಜವಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ಹೊದಿಸಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಪಿಲಾತನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
But Herod and his guards treated him with contempt; and having mocked him, and put on him a gaudy robe, he sent him back to Pilate.
12 ಪಿಲಾತನೂ ಹೆರೋದನೂ ಅದೇ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬರಿಗೊಬ್ಬರು ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರಾದರು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅದುವರೆಗೂ ಅವರು ವೈರಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
And on the same day, Pilate and Herod became friends to each other; for, before this, they had been at enmity the one toward the other.
13 ಪಿಲಾತನು ಮುಖ್ಯಯಾಜಕರನ್ನೂ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಜನರನ್ನೂ ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಕರೆಯಿಸಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ,
And Pilate called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people,
14 “ಜನರು ತಿರುಗಿ ಬೀಳುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆಂದು ನೀವು ಈತನನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಂದಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ಇಗೋ, ನೀವು ಈತನ ಮೇಲೆ ತಂದಿರುವ ದೂರುಗಳನ್ನು ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮುಂದೆಯೇ ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿದಾಗ ಈತನಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ಯಾವ ಅಪರಾಧವೂ ಕಾಣಲಿಲ್ಲ.
and said to them: You have brought to me this man as one that turns the people away; and behold, I have examined him before you, and have found in this man no fault, with respect to the things of which you accuse him;
15 ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ, ಈತನನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ಹೆರೋದ ಅರಸನಿಗೂ ಸಹ ಈತನಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವ ಅಪರಾಧವೂ ಕಾಣಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಇಗೋ, ಈತನಲ್ಲಿ ಮರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋಗ್ಯವಾದದ್ದೇನೂ ಕಾಣಲಿಲ್ಲ.
nor indeed did Herod; for I sent you to him, and behold, nothing worthy of death has been done by him.
16 ಹೀಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ಈತನನ್ನು ದಂಡಿಸಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡುತ್ತೇನೆ,” ಎಂದನು.
I will, therefore, chastise him, and release him.
17 ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅಧಿಪತಿಯು ಸೆರೆಯಾಳು ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಹಬ್ಬದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಬಿಡಿಸುವುದು ಪದ್ಧತಿಯಾಗಿತ್ತು.
For it was necessary that he should release to them one at the feast.
18 ಆಗ ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಆ ಕ್ಷಣವೇ, “ಈತನಿಗೆ ಮರಣದಂಡನೆ ವಿಧಿಸಿರಿ, ನಮಗೆ ಬರಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಮಾಡು,” ಎಂದು ಬೊಬ್ಬೆಹಾಕಿದರು.
And the whole multitude cried out, saying: Away with this man, and release to us Barabbas.
19 ಬರಬ್ಬನು ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ದಂಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕೊಲೆಯ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಸೆರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿದವನಾಗಿದ್ದನು.
He, for a certain seditious movement that had been made in the city, and for murder, had been thrown into prison.
20 ಪಿಲಾತನು ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಮನಸ್ಸುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಮನವಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡನು.
Therefore Pilate, desiring to release Jesus, again called to them.
21 ಅವರಾದರೋ, “ಈತನನ್ನು ಶಿಲುಬೆಗೆ ಹಾಕಿಸು, ಈತನನ್ನು ಶಿಲುಬೆಗೆ ಹಾಕಿಸು!” ಎಂದು ಆರ್ಭಟಿಸತೊಡಗಿದರು.
But they answered, saying: Crucify, crucify him.
22 ಪಿಲಾತನು ಮೂರನೆಯ ಸಾರಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಏಕೆ? ಈತನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಅಪರಾಧವೇನು? ಈತನಲ್ಲಿ ಮರಣದಂಡನೆಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಾದದ್ದೇನೂ ನನಗೆ ಕಾಣಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ಈತನನ್ನು ದಂಡಿಸಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡುತ್ತೇನೆ,” ಎಂದನು.
He said to them the third time: Why, what evil has he done? I have found nothing in him worthy of death. I will, therefore, chastise him, and release him.
23 ಆದರೆ ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಶಿಲುಬೆಗೆ ಹಾಕಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಜನರು ಆರ್ಭಟಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ಒತ್ತಾಯಮಾಡಿದರು. ಹೀಗೆ ಅವರ ಕೂಗಾಟವೇ ಗೆದ್ದಿತು.
But they were urgent with loud voices, demanding that he should be crucified. And their voices, and those of the chief priests, prevailed.
24 ಪಿಲಾತನು ಅವರು ಕೇಳಿಕೊಂಡಂತೆಯೇ ಆಗಲಿ ಎಂದು ನಿರ್ಣಯಿಸಿದನು.
And Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they demanded.
25 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಪಿಲಾತನು ಜನರು ಬರಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಎಂದರೆ, ದಂಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕೊಲೆಯ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಸೆರೆಮನೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಹಾಕಿದವನನ್ನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಟ್ಟು, ಯೇಸುವನ್ನೋ ಅವರ ಇಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದನು.
And he released him that for a seditious movement, and for murder, had been thrown into prison, whom they demanded; but Jesus, he delivered up to their will.
26 ಸೈನಿಕರು ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಹೊಲದಿಂದ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಕುರೇನೆದ ಸೀಮೋನನೆಂಬವನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು, ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಶಿಲುಬೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊರಿಸಿ, ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
And as they led him away, they laid hold of Simon, a certain Cyrenian, who was coming from the country, and on him they laid the cross, that he might carry it after Jesus.
27 ಜನರ ಮಹಾ ಸಮೂಹ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೊರಟಿತು. ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಯೇಸುವಿಗಾಗಿ ಶೋಕಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ಗೋಳಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರು ಸಹ ಇದ್ದರು.
And there followed him a great number of the people, and of women that bewailed and lamented him.
28 ಯೇಸು ಅವರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು, “ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಪುತ್ರಿಯರೇ, ನನಗಾಗಿ ಅಳಬೇಡಿರಿ. ನಿಮಗಾಗಿಯೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಅಳಿರಿ.
But Jesus turned, and said to them, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.
29 ಏಕೆಂದರೆ, ‘ಇಗೋ, ಬಂಜೆಯರೂ ಹೆರದವರೂ ಹಾಲು ಕುಡಿಸದವರೂ ಧನ್ಯರು,’ ಎಂದು ಜನರು ಹೇಳುವ ದಿವಸಗಳು ಬರುತ್ತವೆ.
For, behold, the days are coming in which they will say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bore, and the breasts that never gave suck.
30 ಆಗ ಅವರು, “‘ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳಿಗೆ, “ನಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೀಳಿರಿ!” ಗುಡ್ಡಗಳಿಗೆ, “ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ!”’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲಾರಂಭಿಸುವರು.
Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us.
31 ಅವರು ಹಸಿ ಮರಕ್ಕೆ ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದರೆ, ಒಣ ಮರಕ್ಕೆ ಇನ್ನೇನು ಮಾಡಿಯಾರು?” ಎಂದರು.
For, if they do these things in the green tree, what shall be done in the dry?
32 ಅಪರಾಧಿಗಳಾದ ಬೇರೆ ಇಬ್ಬರನ್ನು ಕೂಡ ಯೇಸುವಿನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮರಣದಂಡನೆಗಾಗಿ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದರು.
And two others, who were evil-doers, were led out to be put to death with him.
33 ಅವರು “ತಲೆಬುರುಡೆಯ ಸ್ಥಳ” ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಲಾಗುವ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ, ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಶಿಲುಬೆಗೆ ಹಾಕಿದರು. ಆ ಅಪರಾಧಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಬಲಗಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಅವರ ಎಡಗಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಲುಬೆಗೆ ಹಾಕಿದರು.
And when they came to the place called Skull, they there crucified him and the evil-doers; one on the right, and the other on the left.
34 ಆಗ ಯೇಸು, “ತಂದೆಯೇ, ಇವರನ್ನು ಕ್ಷಮಿಸಿ, ತಾವು ಏನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆಂದು ಅರಿಯರು,” ಎಂದರು. ಸೈನಿಕರಾದರೋ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಉಡುಪನ್ನು ಚೀಟುಹಾಕಿ, ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡರು.
And Jesus said: Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. And dividing his clothing into parts, they cast lots.
35 ಜನರು ನೋಡುತ್ತಾ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಸಹ ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಅಪಹಾಸ್ಯಮಾಡಿ, “ಬೇರೆಯವರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿದ ಈತನು ದೇವರು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ, ತನ್ನನ್ನು ತಾನೇ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ,” ಎಂದರು.
And the people stood and looked on. And the rulers, with them scoffed at him, saying: He saved others, let him save himself if he is the Christ, the chosen of God.
36 ಸೈನಿಕರು ಸಹ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಹಾಸ್ಯಮಾಡಿ ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ ಹುಳಿರಸವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟು,
The soldiers also derided him, coming to him and offering him vinegar,
37 “ನೀನು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಅರಸನಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನೀನೇ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿಕೋ,” ಎಂದರು.
and saying: If you are the King of the Jews, save yourself.
38 ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಶಿಲುಬೆಯ ಮೇಲ್ಗಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಲಿಖಿತ ಹೀಗಿತ್ತು: ಈತನು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಅರಸನು.
And a superscription was also written over him in Greek and in Roman and in Hebrew letters, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
39 ಶಿಲುಬೆಗೆ ಹಾಕಿದ್ದ ಅಪರಾಧಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು, “ನೀನು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು, ನಮ್ಮನ್ನೂ ರಕ್ಷಿಸು,” ಎಂದು ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ದೂಷಿಸಿದನು.
And one of the evil-doers that were hanged reviled him, saying: If you are the Christ, save yourself and us.
40 ಆದರೆ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬ ಅಫರಾಧಿಯು ಅವನನ್ನು ಖಂಡಿಸುತ್ತಾ, “ನೀನು ಇದೇ ದಂಡನೆಗೆ ಗುರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ?
But the other answering, rebuked him, saying: Do you not fear God, since you are in the same condemnation?
41 ನಮಗಾದರೋ ನಮ್ಮ ಕೃತ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ತಕ್ಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆ ನ್ಯಾಯವಾಗಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದೆ. ಈತನಾದರೋ ತಪ್ಪಾದದ್ದೇನೂ ಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದನು.
And we justly; for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.
42 ಬಳಿಕ ಅವನು, “ಯೇಸುವೇ, ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುವಾಗ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನೆನಪುಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ,” ಎಂದನು.
And he said to Jesus: Remember me, Lord, when thou comest in thy kingdom.
43 ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಈ ದಿನವೇ ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಪರದೈಸಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವೆ ಎಂದು ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಸತ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ,” ಎಂದರು.
And Jesus said to him: Verily I say to you, to-day you shall be with me in paradise.
44 ಆಗ ಸುಮಾರು ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನವಾಗಿತ್ತು, ಆ ಹೊತ್ತಿನಿಂದ ಮೂರು ಗಂಟೆಯವರೆಗೆ ದೇಶದ ಮೇಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕತ್ತಲೆ ಕವಿಯಿತು.
And it was about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over the whole land till the ninth hour.
45 ಸೂರ್ಯನು ಕಳೆಗುಂದಿದನು ಮತ್ತು ದೇವಾಲಯದ ತೆರೆಯು ಹರಿದು ಎರಡು ಭಾಗವಾಯಿತು.
And the sun was darkened, and the vail of the temple was rent in the midst.
46 ಯೇಸು ಮಹಾಧ್ವನಿಯಿಂದ, “ತಂದೆಯೇ, ನನ್ನ ಆತ್ಮವನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ,” ಎಂದು ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಕೂಗಿ ಪ್ರಾಣಬಿಟ್ಟರು.
And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and said: Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit. And when he had said this, he gave up his spirit.
47 ಆಗ ಶತಾಧಿಪತಿಯು, ನಡೆದದ್ದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು, “ಈತನು ನೀತಿವಂತನೇ ಸರಿ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಮಹಿಮೆಪಡಿಸಿದನು.
When the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying: Truly, this was a righteous man.
48 ಆ ದೃಶ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕಾಣಲು ಬಂದ ಜನರು ನಡೆದ ಘಟನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕಂಡು, ತಮ್ಮ ಎದೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬಡಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಹೋದರು.
And all the multitudes that had come together to that sight, when they saw what was done, returned, smiting their breasts.
49 ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ ಪರಿಚಯವಿದ್ದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಗಲಿಲಾಯದಿಂದ ಅವರನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿದ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರೂ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತು ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
And all his acquaintance, and the women that had followed him from Galilee, stood at a distance looking on these things.
50 ಯೋಸೇಫನೆಂಬ ಹೆಸರುಳ್ಳ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿದ್ದನು, ಇವನು ಆಲೋಚನಾ ಸಭೆಯವನೂ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವನೂ ಮತ್ತು ನೀತಿವಂತನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದನು.
And, behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counselor, a good and a just man;
51 ಇವನು ಅವರ ತೀರ್ಮಾನಕ್ಕೂ ಕೃತ್ಯಕ್ಕೂ ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಇವನು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಪಟ್ಟಣವಾದ ಅರಿಮಥಾಯದವನೂ ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಎದುರುನೋಡುವವನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದನು.
(he had not given his consent to their counsel and deed; ) he was of Arimathea, a city of the Jews, and he himself also waited for the kingdom of God:
52 ಇವನು ಪಿಲಾತನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ಯೇಸುವಿನ ದೇಹವನ್ನು ಕೊಡಲು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡನು.
this man came to Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus.
53 ತರುವಾಯ ಇವನು ಶರೀರವನ್ನು ಕೆಳಗೆ ಇಳಿಸಿ, ನಾರುಬಟ್ಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುತ್ತಿ, ಬಂಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊರೆದಿದ್ದ ಸಮಾಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟನು, ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಅದುವರೆಗೆ ಯಾರನ್ನೂ ಇಟ್ಟಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulcher that had been hewed in rock, in which no one had yet been laid.
54 ಅಂದು ಸಿದ್ಧತೆಯ ದಿನವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಸಬ್ಬತ್ ದಿನ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಗಲಿತ್ತು.
And the day was the preparation, and the sabbath was beginning.
55 ಗಲಿಲಾಯದಿಂದ ಯೇಸುವಿನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬಂದ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರು ಅರಿಮಥಾಯದ ಯೋಸೇಫನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ಸಮಾಧಿಯನ್ನೂ ದೇಹವನ್ನು ಅದರಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟ ರೀತಿಯನ್ನೂ ನೋಡಿದರು.
And the women that had come with him from Galilee followed after and saw the sepulcher, and how his body was laid.
56 ಅವರು ಮನೆಗೆ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ಪರಿಮಳ ದ್ರವ್ಯವನ್ನೂ ಸುಗಂಧ ತೈಲವನ್ನೂ ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು; ಆದರೆ ಮೋಶೆಯ ಆಜ್ಞಾನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ಸಬ್ಬತ್ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶ್ರಮಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು.
And they returned, and prepared spices and ointment; and they rested on the sabbath, according to the commandment.
