ಲೂಕನು 2
1 ಆ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇಡೀ ರೋಮನ್ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಗಣತಿಯಾಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ಕೈಸರ್ ಔಗುಸ್ತನಿಂದ ಶಾಸನವು ಹೊರಟಿತು.
It came to pass in those days, a decree went out from Augustus Caesar, to enroll all the world.
2 ಕುರೇನ್ಯನು ಸಿರಿಯ ಪ್ರಾಂತಕ್ಕೆ ಅಧಿಪತಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾಗ, ಈ ಜನಗಣತಿಯು ಮೊದಲನೆಯ ಸಾರಿ ನಡೆಯಿತು.
This was the first enrollment, Cyrenius being governor of Syria.
3 ಆಗ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಹೆಸರುಗಳನ್ನು ದಾಖಲೆ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವಂತ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದರು.
And all were going forth to enroll, each one into his own city.
4 ಯೋಸೇಫನು ದಾವೀದನ ಕುಟುಂಬದವನೂ ವಂಶದವನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಅವನು ಸಹ ಗಲಿಲಾಯ ಪ್ರಾಂತದ ನಜರೇತೆಂಬ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಿಂದ ಯೂದಾಯ ಪ್ರಾಂತದ ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮ್ ಎಂಬ ದಾವೀದನ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು.
And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city Nazareth, into Judea, into the city of David which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David,
5 ಅವನು ತನಗೆ ನಿಶ್ಚಯಿಸಿದ್ದ ಮತ್ತು ಪೂರ್ಣ ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ಮರಿಯಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಜನಗಣತಿಯ ದಾಖಲೆ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಹೋದನು.
to enroll himself along with Mary, the wife having been betrothed to him, being in an advanced state of pregnancy.
6 ಅವರು ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದಾಗ, ಆಕೆಗೆ ಹೆರಿಗೆಯ ಕಾಲ ಸಮೀಪಿಸಿತು.
And it came to pass while they were there the days of her parturition were fulfilled.
7 ಮರಿಯಳು ತನ್ನ ಚೊಚ್ಚಲು ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹೆತ್ತು, ಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳಿಂದ ಸುತ್ತಿ, ಛತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸ್ಥಳವಿಲ್ಲವಾದ್ದರಿಂದ ಶಿಶುವನ್ನು ದನದ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಲಗಿಸಿದಳು.
And she brought forth her firstborn son, and she wrapped Him in swaddling clothes and laid Him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.
8 ಅದೇ ಸೀಮೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕುರುಬರು ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು, ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಹಿಂಡನ್ನು ಕಾಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
And the shepherds were in that country, tenting out and keeping guard over their flock by night.
9 ಆಗ ಕರ್ತದೇವರ ದೂತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷನಾದನು. ಕರ್ತದೇವರ ಮಹಿಮೆಯು ಅವರ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಪ್ರಕಾಶಿಸಿತು, ಅವರು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಹೆದರಿದರು.
And behold an angel of the Lord stood over them and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they feared with great fear.
10 ಆ ದೂತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಹೆದರಬೇಡಿರಿ. ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಮಹಾ ಸಂತೋಷವನ್ನುಂಟು ಮಾಡುವ ಶುಭಸಮಾಚಾರವನ್ನು ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.
And the angel said to them; Fear not; for behold, I preach unto you the gospel of great joy, which shall be to all people;
11 ಅದೇನೆಂದರೆ, ಈ ದಿನ ದಾವೀದನ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಒಬ್ಬ ರಕ್ಷಕರು ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರು ಯಾರೆಂದರೆ ಕರ್ತದೇವರು ಆಗಿರುವ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತ.
because this day a Savior is born unto you, who is Christ the Lord, in the city of David.
12 ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಬಟ್ಟೆಯಿಂದ ಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಶಿಶುವು ಕೊಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಲಗಿರುವುದನ್ನು ನೀವು ಕಾಣುವಿರಿ. ಇದೇ ನಿಮಗೆ ಗುರುತು,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
And this shall be the sign unto you; you shall find an infant lying in a manger, wrapped in swaddling clothes.
13 ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಆ ದೂತನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಪರಲೋಕ ಸೈನ್ಯದ ಸಮೂಹವು ದೇವರನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದರು:
And immediately a multitude of the heavenly host was with the angel, praising God and saying;
14 “ಮಹೋನ್ನತದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಮಹಿಮೆ, ಭೂಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರ ಮೆಚ್ಚುಗೆ, ಮಾನವರಿಗೆ ಸಮಾಧಾನ.”
Glory to God in the highest, and peace on earth; good will among men.
15 ದೇವದೂತರು ಅವರ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ಪರಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುರುಬರು, “ದೇವರು ನಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಪಡಿಸಿದ ಈ ಸಂಗತಿಯನ್ನು ನಾವು ಈಗಲೇ ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ನೋಡೋಣ,” ಎಂದು ಒಬ್ಬರಿಗೊಬ್ಬರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು.
And it came to pass, when the angels departed from them into heaven, indeed, the shepherds said to one another; Now let us go unto Bethlehem and see this word which has taken place, which the Lord made known to us.
16 ಅವರು ಅವಸರದಿಂದ ಹೋಗಿ ಮರಿಯಳನ್ನೂ ಯೋಸೇಫನನ್ನೂ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಲಗಿದ್ದ ಶಿಶುವನ್ನು ಕಂಡರು.
They went making haste, and found both Mary and Joseph, and the infant lying in the manger.
17 ಅನಂತರ, ಈ ಶಿಶುವಿನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ತಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಪಡಿಸಿದ ದೇವದೂತನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕಟಮಾಡಿದರು.
And seeing, they made known concerning the word which was spoken to them about this little child.
18 ಕುರುಬರು ಹೇಳಿದ ವಿಷಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯಪಟ್ಟರು.
And all hearing wondered concerning the things which were spoken to them by the shepherds.
19 ಆದರೆ ಮರಿಯಳು ಈ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಿಷಯಗಳನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಆಲೋಚಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಳು.
And Mary kept all these words laying them up in her heart.
20 ತಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ಕುರುಬರು ತಾವು ಕೇಳಿ, ಕಂಡ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಿಷಯಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಮಹಿಮೆಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ಕೊಂಡಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಹೋದರು.
And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God, for all things which they heard and saw, as it was spoken to them.
21 ಶಿಶುವಿಗೆ ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾಗಿದ್ದ ಎಂಟನೆಯ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ, ಮರಿಯಳು ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿಯಾಗುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಂಚೆಯೇ ದೂತನು ಸೂಚಿಸಿದ್ದಂತೆ “ಯೇಸು” ಎಂದು ನಾಮಕರಣ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
And when the eight days of circumcising Him were fulfilled, and His name was called Jesus, having been called by the angel before He was conceived in the womb.
22 ಮೋಶೆಯ ನಿಯಮದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಮರಿಯಳಿಗೆ ಶುದ್ಧೀಕರಣದ ದಿವಸಗಳು ಮುಗಿದ ಮೇಲೆ, ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಮತ್ತು ಮರಿಯಳು ಶಿಶುವನ್ನು ಕರ್ತದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ತಂದರು.
And when the days of their purification were fulfilled, according to the law of Moses, they carried him up into Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord,
23 ಕರ್ತದೇವರ ನಿಯಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದಿರುವಂತೆ, “ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಚೊಚ್ಚಲ ಗಂಡು ಮಗು ಕರ್ತದೇವರಿಗೆ ಪವಿತ್ರವಾಗಿ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಬೇಕು,”
as it was written in the law of the Lord; That every male opening the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;
24 ಎಂತಲೂ, “ಒಂದು ಜೊತೆ ಬೆಳವಕ್ಕಿಗಳನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಎರಡು ಪಾರಿವಾಳದ ಮರಿಗಳನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಬಲಿ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಬೇಕು,” ಎಂತಲೂ ಕರ್ತದೇವರ ನಿಯಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳಿರುವ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಅವರು ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.
and to offer a sacrifice according to that which has been written in the law of the Lord, a pair of turtle-doves, or two young pigeons.
25 ಆಗ ಸಿಮೆಯೋನನೆಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದನು. ಅವನು ನೀತಿವಂತನೂ ಭಕ್ತನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದನು. ಅವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರನ್ನು ಸಂತೈಸುವ ಒಬ್ಬರ ಬರುವಿಕೆಗಾಗಿ ಕಾಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು. ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮ ದೇವರ ಪ್ರಸನ್ನತೆ ಅವನ ಮೇಲಿತ್ತು.
And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon; and the same man was righteous and godly, awaiting the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him;
26 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ, ಅವನು ಕರ್ತದೇವರು ಕಳುಹಿಸಲಿರುವ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನನ್ನು ಕಾಣುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆ ಮರಣ ಹೊಂದುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮನಿಂದ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಕಟನೆಯಾಗಿತ್ತು.
and it was revealed unto him by the Holy Spirit, that he should not see death before he may see the Christ of the Lord.
27 ಅವನು ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮ ಪ್ರೇರಣೆಯಿಂದ ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಅಂಗಳದೊಳಗೆ ಬಂದನು, ಆಗ ನಿಯಮವನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸಲು ತಂದೆತಾಯಿಗಳು ಶಿಶು ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಒಳಗೆ ತಂದರು.
And he came in the Spirit into the temple; and while the parents are bringing in the little child Jesus, that they may do according to the provisions of law concerning Him,
28 ಆಗ ಸಿಮೆಯೋನನು ಶಿಶುವನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಕೈಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ದೇವರನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಹೀಗೆಂದನು:
he received Him into his arms and blessed God and said;
29 “ಸರ್ವೇಶ್ವರರಾದ ಕರ್ತದೇವರೇ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ವಾಗ್ದಾನದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದಾಸನನ್ನು ಸಮಾಧಾನದಿಂದ ಈಗ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿರಿ.
Now, O Lord, thou art letting thy servant depart, in peace according to thy word;
30 ನನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು ನಿಮ್ಮ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯನ್ನು ಕಂಡವು,
because mine eyes saw thy salvation,
31 ಈ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯನ್ನು ನೀವು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನಗಳ ಮುಂದೆ ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದೀರಿ:
which thou didst prepare before the face of all peoples;
32 ಅದು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಲ್ಲದವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಕಟಣೆಯ ಬೆಳಕೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಜೆಯಾದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಮಹಿಮೆಯೂ ಆಗಿದೆ.”
a light unto the revelation of the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.
33 ಶಿಶುವಿನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಸಿಮೆಯೋನನು ಹೇಳಿದ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಗೆ ಶಿಶುವಿನ ತಂದೆತಾಯಿಗಳು ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯಪಟ್ಟರು.
And His father and His mother were marveling at the words spoken concerning Him.
34 ಅನಂತರ ಸಿಮೆಯೋನನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸಿ, ಶಿಶುವಿನ ತಾಯಿ ಮರಿಯಳಿಗೆ, “ಇಗೋ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕರು ಬೀಳುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಏಳುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಈ ಮಗು ನೇಮಕವಾಗಿದೆ, ಜನರು ಎದುರು ಮಾತನಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಈ ಮಗು ಗುರುತಾಗಿರುವದು.
And Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, His mother; Behold, he is appointed unto the fall and rising of many in Israel, and unto a sign which is spoken against;
35 ಹೀಗೆ ಅನೇಕ ಹೃದಯಗಳ ಆಲೋಚನೆಗಳು ಪ್ರಕಟವಾಗುವವು. ನಿನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಸಹ ಖಡ್ಗವು ತಿವಿಯುವುದು” ಎಂದನು.
and a sword shall go through thy soul, in order that the reasonings of many hearts may be revealed.
36 ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಆಶೇರನ ಗೋತ್ರದ ಫನೂಯೇಲನ ಮಗಳಾದ ಅನ್ನಳೆಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬ ಬಹು ಮುಪ್ಪಿನ ಪ್ರವಾದಿನಿಯಿದ್ದಳು. ಅವಳು ಮದುವೆಯಾಗಿ ಗಂಡನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಏಳು ವರ್ಷ ಬಾಳಿದ್ದಳು.
And Anna was a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel of the tribe of Asher, herself being advanced in many days, having lived with her husband seven years from her virginity;
37 ಅವಳು ಎಂಬತ್ತನಾಲ್ಕು ವರ್ಷ ವಿಧವೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ದೇವಾಲಯವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋಗದೆ ಉಪವಾಸಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ರಾತ್ರಿ ಹಗಲೂ ಆರಾಧನೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಳು.
and she a widow of about fourscore years, who did not depart from the temple, worshiping night and day with fastings and prayers.
38 ಆ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಅನ್ನಳು ಬಂದು, ದೇವರನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡಾಡಿ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಮೋಚನೆಗಾಗಿ ಎದುರು ನೋಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದವರೆಲ್ಲರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಶಿಶುವಿನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದಳು.
And she, at the same hour, standing up continued to praise the Lord, and speak concerning Him to all those awaiting the redemption in Jerusalem.
39 ಯೋಸೇಫನೂ ಮರಿಯಳೂ ಕರ್ತದೇವರ ನಿಯಮದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ಮುಗಿಸಿದ ಮೇಲೆ, ತಮ್ಮ ಊರಾಗಿದ್ದ ಗಲಿಲಾಯದ ನಜರೇತಿಗೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿದರು.
And when they finished all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee into their own city Nazareth.
40 ಆ ಶಿಶುವು ಬೆಳೆದು ಬಲಗೊಂಡು; ಜ್ಞಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಯಿತು ಮತ್ತು ದೇವರ ಕೃಪೆಯು ಶಿಶುವಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಇತ್ತು.
And the child continued to grow and waxed strong in spirit, being full of wisdom; and the grace of God was on Him.
41 ಯೇಸುವಿನ ತಂದೆತಾಯಿಗಳು ಪ್ರತಿವರ್ಷವೂ ಪಸ್ಕಹಬ್ಬಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
And His parents were going, according to custom, into Jerusalem at the feast of the passover.
42 ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ವರ್ಷವಾದಾಗ, ಪದ್ಧತಿಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಅವರು ಹಬ್ಬಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಹೋದರು.
And when He was twelve years old, they going up to Jerusalem according to the custom of the feast,
43 ಅವರು ಆ ಹಬ್ಬವನ್ನು ಮುಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಬರುವಾಗ ಬಾಲಕ ಯೇಸು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಉಳಿದದ್ದು, ತಂದೆತಾಯಿಗಳಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
and having completed the days, while they were returning the boy Jesus remained in Jerusalem. And His parents knew it not.
44 ಯೇಸು ಗುಂಪಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದಿರಬಹುದೆಂದು ಅವರು ಭಾವಿಸಿ, ಒಂದು ದಿನದ ಪ್ರಯಾಣವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಬಳಗದವರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಪರಿಚಿತರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಬಾಲಕ ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿದರು.
And thinking that He is in the crowd, they came a day's journey, and were seeking Him among His relatives and acquaintances.
45 ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಹೋದುದರಿಂದ, ಅವರನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತಾ ಪುನಃ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ಬಂದರು.
And not having found Him; they returned to Jerusalem seeking Him.
46 ಮೂರು ದಿವಸಗಳಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ದೇವಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡರು. ಬೋಧಕರ ನಡುವೆ ಕೂತುಕೊಂಡು, ಬಾಲಕ ಯೇಸು ಅವರ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾ, ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಇರುವುದನ್ನು ಅವರು ಕಂಡರು.
And it came to pass, after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both hearing them and asking them questions.
47 ಯೇಸು ಆಡಿದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಅವರ ಜ್ಞಾನಕ್ಕೂ ಉತ್ತರಗಳಿಗೂ ಬೆರಗಾದರು.
And all hearing Him were astonished at His wisdom and answers.
48 ತಂದೆತಾಯಿಗಳು ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಕಂಡಾಗ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯಪಟ್ಟರು. ಆತನ ತಾಯಿಯು, “ಮಗು, ನೀನು ನಮಗೆ ಹೀಗೇಕೆ ಮಾಡಿದೆ? ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯೂ ನಾನೂ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಕಳವಳಗೊಂಡು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿದೆವು,” ಎಂದಳು.
And seeing Him they were astonished, and His mother said to Him; Child, why did you thus do unto us? Behold, thy father and I were seeking thee, sorrowful.
49 ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿದ್ದೇಕೆ? ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇರಬೇಕೆಂಬುದು ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ?” ಎಂದರು.
And He said to them, Why were you seeking after me? Did you not know that it behooved me to be in the affairs of my Father?
50 ಆದರೆ ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಅವರು ಗ್ರಹಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ.
And they did not understand the word which He spoke unto them.
51 ಬಳಿಕ ಯೇಸು ಅವರ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಜರೇತಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅಧೀನರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ತಾಯಿಯು ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ತನ್ನ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಿ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಳು.
And He went down with them and came to Nazareth; and was subject unto them. And His mother continued to keep all these words in her heart.
52 ಯೇಸು ಜ್ಞಾನದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ದೇಹಬಲದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಬೆಳೆದು, ದೇವರ ಮೆಚ್ಚುಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಮೆಚ್ಚುಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ದೊರೆಯಿತು.
And Jesus continued to grow in wisdom and stature and favor with God and men.
