ಲೂಕನು 1
1 ಸನ್ಮಾನ್ಯ ಥೆಯೊಫಿಲರೇ, ನಮ್ಮ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದಿರುವ ಘಟನೆಗಳ ವರದಿಯನ್ನು ಬರೆದಿಡಲು ಅನೇಕರು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
Given that many have undertaken to set in order a narrative concerning those things that really did take place among us,
2 ಮೊದಲಿನಿಂದ ಕಣ್ಣಾರೆ ಕಂಡವರೂ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯದ ಸೇವಕರೂ ನಮಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿರುವ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಬರೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
just as those who became eyewitnesses, from the beginning, and ministers of the Word delivered them to us,
3 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ಸಹ ಮೊದಲಿನಿಂದ ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮವಾಗಿ ಪರಿಶೋಧಿಸಿ, ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಬರೆಯುವುದು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದೆಂದು ನನಗೆ ತೋಚಿತು.
it seemed good to me also, most excellent Theophilus, having taken careful note of everything from Above, to write to you with precision and in sequence,
4 ಹೀಗೆ ನಿಮಗೆ ಬೋಧಿಸಿರುವ ವಿಷಯಗಳು ಖಚಿತವೆಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿದುಬರುವುದು.
so that you may know the certainty of the things in which you were instructed.
5 ಯೂದಾಯದ ಅರಸನಾಗಿದ್ದ ಹೆರೋದನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ಅಬೀಯನ ವರ್ಗಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿದ ಜಕರೀಯನೆಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬ ಯಾಜಕನಿದ್ದನು. ಇವನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯ ಹೆಸರು ಎಲಿಸಬೇತ್. ಇವಳು ಆರೋನನ ವಂಶದವಳು.
In the days of Herod, the king of Judea, there was a certain priest named Zacharias, of the priestly division of Abijah. His wife was of the daughters of Aaron and her name was Elizabeth.
6 ಇವರಿಬ್ಬರೂ ಕರ್ತದೇವರ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ತೀರ್ಪುಗಳನ್ನೂ ತಪ್ಪಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಕೈಕೊಂಡು, ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ನೀತಿವಂತರಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
They were both righteous before God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord.
7 ಆದರೆ ಎಲಿಸಬೇತಳು ಬಂಜೆಯಾದುದರಿಂದ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರೂ ಬಹಳ ವಯಸ್ಸಾದವರಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
But they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren; and they both were well advanced in years.
8 ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ಜಕರೀಯನು ತನ್ನ ವರ್ಗದ ಸರದಿಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಯಾಜಕ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ,
Now it happened, as he was officiating as priest before God in the order of his division,
9 ಯಾಜಕೋದ್ಯೋಗದ ಪದ್ಧತಿಯಂತೆ, ಅವನು ಕರ್ತದೇವರ ಆಲಯವನ್ನು ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿ ಧೂಪವನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಚೀಟು ಹಾಕಿದಾಗ, ಅದು ಅವನ ಪಾಲಿಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದಿತು.
according to the custom of the priesthood, that his lot was to burn incense, upon entering the sanctuary of the Lord;
10 ಧೂಪಾರ್ಪಣೆಯ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿದ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಹೊರಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
and the whole multitude of the people was praying outside at the hour of incense.
11 ಆಗ ಧೂಪವೇದಿಯ ಬಲಗಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ, ಕರ್ತದೇವರ ದೂತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು.
Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing at the right side of the altar of incense;
12 ಜಕರೀಯನು ದೂತನನ್ನು ಕಂಡು, ಚಕಿತಗೊಂಡು ಭಯಭ್ರಾಂತನಾದನು.
and upon seeing him Zacharias was shaken, and a fear fell upon him.
13 ಆದರೆ ದೂತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಜಕರೀಯನೇ; ಭಯಪಡಬೇಡ, ದೇವರು ನಿನ್ನ ವಿಜ್ಞಾಪನೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಎಲಿಸಬೇತಳು ನಿನಗೆ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹೆರುವಳು, ನೀನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, ‘ಯೋಹಾನ’ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರನ್ನಿಡಬೇಕು.
But the angel said to him: “Do not be afraid, Zacharias, because your prayer was heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John.
14 ಅನೇಕರು ಅವನ ಜನನಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂತೋಷಪಡುವರು, ನಿನಗೆ ಆನಂದವೂ ಉಲ್ಲಾಸವೂ ಆಗುವುದು,
And you will have joy and exultation, and many will rejoice over his birth.
15 ಅವನು ಕರ್ತದೇವರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಾಪುರುಷನಾಗಿರುವನು. ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಮದ್ಯವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಅವನು ಕುಡಿಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಅವನು ತಾಯಿಯ ಗರ್ಭದಿಂದಲೇ ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮ ಭರಿತನಾಗಿರುವನು.
For he will be great in the sight of the Lord; he must not drink either wine or strong drink; indeed, he will be filled with Holy Spirit already from his mother's womb.
16 ಅವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕರನ್ನು ಅವರ ಕರ್ತದೇವರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಸುವನು.
And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God;
17 ಅವನು ತಂದೆಯರ ಹೃದಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಕಡೆಗೂ ಅವಿಧೇಯರನ್ನು ನೀತಿವಂತರ ಜ್ಞಾನದ ಕಡೆಗೂ ತಿರುಗಿಸಿ, ಕರ್ತ ದೇವರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಜನರನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಎಲೀಯನ ಆತ್ಮದಿಂದಲೂ ಶಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ಕರ್ತದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೋಗುವನು,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
in fact he himself will go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, ‘to turn the hearts of fathers to children’ and the disobedient to the mindset of the righteous, to prepare a people made ready for the Lord.”
18 ಜಕರೀಯನು ಆ ದೇವದೂತನಿಗೆ, “ಇದನ್ನು ನಾನು ಯಾವುದರಿಂದ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ? ನಾನು ಮುದುಕನು; ನನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯೂ ಪ್ರಾಯ ಮೀರಿದವಳು,” ಎಂದನು.
But Zacharias said to the angel: “How can I be sure of this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years.”
19 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಆ ದೂತನು ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ, “ನಾನು ದೇವರ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಲ್ಲುವ ಗಬ್ರಿಯೇಲನು. ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಈ ಸಂತೋಷದ ವರ್ತಮಾನವನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ದೇವರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
So in answer the angel said to him: “I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God; I was sent to speak to you and bring you this good news.
20 ಸಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆರವೇರುವ ನನ್ನ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ನೀನು ನಂಬದೆ ಹೋದಕಾರಣ, ಈ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳು ಈಡೇರುವ ದಿನದವರೆಗೆ ನೀನು ಮಾತನಾಡಲಾರದೆ ಮೂಕನಾಗಿರುವಿ,” ಎಂದನು.
Now look, you will be silent and not able to speak until the day in which these things happen, because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their proper time.”
21 ಆಗ, ಜಕರೀಯನಿಗಾಗಿ ಕಾದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಜನರು ಅವನು ದೇವಾಲಯದೊಳಗೆ ತಡಮಾಡಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯಪಟ್ಟರು.
Now the people were waiting for Zacharias and wondering at his delay in the sanctuary.
22 ಜಕರೀಯನು ಹೊರಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ, ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಏನೂ ಮಾತನಾಡಲಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸನ್ನೆಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಮೂಕನಾಗಿಯೇ ಇದ್ದುದರಿಂದ, ಅವರು ದೇವಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಏನೋ ದರ್ಶನವಾಗಿರಬೇಕೆಂದು ಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದರು.
But when he came out he was unable to speak to them, and they understood that he had seen a vision in the sanctuary—he kept gesturing to them while remaining mute.
23 ತನ್ನ ಸೇವೆಯ ದಿನಗಳು ಮುಗಿದ ನಂತರ, ಜಕರೀಯನು ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೊರಟುಹೋದನು.
And so, when the days of his service were fulfilled, he took off for home.
24 ಕೆಲವು ದಿನಗಳಾದ ಮೇಲೆ, ಅವನ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಎಲಿಸಬೇತಳು ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿಯಾಗಿ, ಐದು ತಿಂಗಳು ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮರೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದಳು.
Well after those days his wife Elizabeth became pregnant and stayed in seclusion five months. She kept saying,
25 ಅವಳು, “ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗಿದ್ದ ಅವಮಾನವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕರ್ತದೇವರು ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ದಯೆತೋರಿಸಿ ಈ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದಳು.
“So that's what the Lord has done for me in the days when He concerned Himself to take away my reproach among the people!”
26 ಎಲಿಸಬೇತಳು ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿಯಾದ ಆರನೆಯ ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ಗಲಿಲಾಯ ಪ್ರಾಂತದ ನಜರೇತೆಂಬ ಊರಿಗೆ, ದೇವರು ಗಬ್ರಿಯೇಲನೆಂಬ ದೇವದೂತನನ್ನು,
Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a town of Galilee named Natsareth,
27 ದಾವೀದನ ವಂಶದ ಯೋಸೇಫನಿಗೆ, ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಮರಿಯಳೆಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬ ಕನ್ನಿಕೆಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರು.
to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; the virgin's name was Mary.
28 ಆ ದೇವದೂತನು ಆಕೆಗೆ, “ಅತ್ಯಂತ ದಯೆ ಹೊಂದಿದವಳೇ! ನಿನಗೆ ಶುಭವಾಗಲಿ, ಪ್ರಭುವು ನಿನ್ನೊಂದಿಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
So upon entering where she was the angel said, “Rejoice, recipient of grace, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!”
29 ಮರಿಯಳು ದೇವದೂತನ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಕಳವಳಗೊಂಡು, “ಇದು ಎಂಥಾ ಶುಭಾಶಯ?” ಎಂದು ತನ್ನ ಮನದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋಚಿಸತೊಡಗಿದಳು.
But upon seeing him she was perplexed at his word and was trying to figure out what sort of greeting it might be.
30 ಆ ದೇವದೂತನು ಆಕೆಗೆ, “ಮರಿಯಳೇ, ಹೆದರಬೇಡ. ನೀನು ದೇವರ ದಯೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವಿ.
The angel said to her: “Do not be afraid, Mary, because you have found favor with God.
31 ಇಗೋ, ನೀನು ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿಯಾಗಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹೆರುವೆ, ಅವರಿಗೆ ‘ಯೇಸು’ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಡಬೇಕು.
Now then, you will conceive in your womb and give birth to a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS.
32 ಅವರು ದೊಡ್ಡವರಾಗಿ ಮಹೋನ್ನತರ ಪುತ್ರ ಎಂದು ಎನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು. ಕರ್ತದೇವರು ಅವರ ತಂದೆ ದಾವೀದನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನವನ್ನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುವರು.
He will be great, and will be called ‘Son of the Most High’; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David,
and He will reign over the house of Jacob into the ages; indeed, of His kingdom there will be no end!” (aiōn g165)
34 ಮರಿಯಳು ಆ ದೇವದೂತನಿಗೆ, “ಇದು ಹೇಗಾಗುವುದು, ನಾನು ಕನ್ಯೆ?” ಎಂದಳು.
So Mary said to the angel, “How shall this be, since I do not know a man?”
35 ಆ ದೇವದೂತನು ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಮರಿಯಳಿಗೆ, “ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮ ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರಲು, ಮಹೋನ್ನತ ದೇವರ ಶಕ್ತಿಯು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಆವರಿಸುವುದು. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ಹುಟ್ಟುವ ಆ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಶಿಶುವು ದೇವರ ಪುತ್ರ ಎನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು.
In answer the angel said to her: “Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Most High will hover over you; precisely for this reason the holy One who is to be born will be called ‘Son of God’!
36 ನಿನ್ನ ಬಂಧು ಎಲಿಸಬೇತಳು ಸಹ ತನ್ನ ಮುಪ್ಪಿನ ಪ್ರಾಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹೆರಲಿದ್ದಾಳೆ. ಬಂಜೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ಆಕೆಗೆ ಇದು ಆರನೆಯ ತಿಂಗಳು.
Furthermore, your relative Elizabeth, she has actually conceived a son in her old age and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren;
37 ದೇವರಿಂದ ಬರುವ ಯಾವ ತಕ್ಕ ಮಾತು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಅಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
because any word spoken by God will be possible.”
38 ಮರಿಯಳು, “ಇಗೋ ನಾನು ಕರ್ತದೇವರ ದಾಸಿ, ನಿನ್ನ ತಕ್ಕ ಮಾತಿನಂತೆ ನನಗಾಗಲಿ,” ಎಂದಳು. ಆಗ ದೇವದೂತನು ಆಕೆಯ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಟುಹೋದನು.
So Mary said: “Yes, I am the Lord's slave! Let it happen to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.
39 ಆ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಮರಿಯಳು ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಸೀಮೆಯ ಯೆಹೂದದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಒಂದು ಊರಿಗೆ ಅವಸರವಾಗಿ ಹೊರಡಲು ಸಿದ್ಧಳಾದಳು.
Then Mary quickly got ready and went into the hill country in those days, to a town of Judah,
40 ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಜಕರೀಯನ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿ, ಎಲಿಸಬೇತಳನ್ನು ವಂದಿಸಿದಳು.
and entered the house of Zacharias and saluted Elizabeth.
41 ಮರಿಯಳ ವಂದನೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ, ಎಲಿಸಬೇತಳ ಗರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಕೂಸು ನಲಿದಾಡಿತು ಮತ್ತು ಎಲಿಸಬೇತಳು ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮ ಭರಿತಳಾಗಿ
Well it happened that as Elizabeth heard Mary's salutation the babe bounced up and down in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with Holy Spirit.
42 ಮಹಾಧ್ವನಿಯಿಂದ: “ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರಲ್ಲಿ ನೀನು ಧನ್ಯಳೇ, ನಿನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟುವ ಶಿಶುವೂ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದು!
And she cried out with a great voice and said: “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the Fruit of your womb!
43 ನನ್ನ ಕರ್ತದೇವರ ತಾಯಿಯು, ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರುವಷ್ಟು ನಾನು ದಯೆ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದು ಏಕೆ?
Why am I so favored that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
44 ಇಗೋ, ನಿನ್ನ ವಂದನೆಯ ಧ್ವನಿಯು ನನ್ನ ಕಿವಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದ ಕೂಡಲೇ, ಶಿಶುವು ನನ್ನ ಗರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಲ್ಲಾಸದಿಂದ ನಲಿದಾಡಿತು.
Yes indeed, because as the sound of your salutation came into my ears the babe bounced up and down in my womb for joy.
45 ಕರ್ತದೇವರು ತಮಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದವುಗಳು ನೆರವೇರುವುವು ಎಂದು ನಂಬಿದವಳು ಧನ್ಯಳು,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದಳು.
Blessed is she who believed, because there will be a fulfillment of the things that have been spoken to her from the Lord.”
46 ಆಗ ಮರಿಯಳು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದು: “ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವು ಕರ್ತದೇವರನ್ನು ಸ್ತುತಿಸುತ್ತದೆ,
So Mary said: “My soul magnifies the Lord,
47 ನನ್ನ ಆತ್ಮವು ನನ್ನ ರಕ್ಷಕ ದೇವರಲ್ಲಿ ಉಲ್ಲಾಸಗೊಂಡಿದೆ.
and my spirit has exulted over God my Savior,
48 ದೇವರು ತಮ್ಮ ದಾಸಿಯ ದೀನಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಲಕ್ಷಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇಂದಿನಿಂದ ತಲತಲಾಂತರದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಧನ್ಯಳೆಂದು ಕರೆಯುವರು,
in that He paid attention to the humble station of His slave (f). Yes indeed, because from now on all generations will declare me to be highly favored,
49 ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಿಯಾದ ದೇವರು ನನಗೆ ಮಹಾಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಅವರ ಹೆಸರು ಪವಿತ್ರವಾದದ್ದು.
in that the Mighty One did sublime things for me, and Holy is His name.
50 ದೇವರಲ್ಲಿ ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳವರ ಮೇಲೆ, ಅವರ ಕರುಣೆಯು ತಲತಲಾಂತರಗಳಿಗೂ ಇರುವುದು.
His mercy is for generations of generations to those fearing Him.
51 ದೇವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಭುಜಪರಾಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ; ಹೃದಯದ ಯೋಚನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಗರ್ವಿಷ್ಠರಾದವರನ್ನು ಚದರಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
He has done mighty deeds with His arm; He has dispersed the arrogant in the reasoning of their hearts.
52 ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನಗಳಿಂದ ಕೆಳಗೆ ದಬ್ಬಿ, ದೀನರನ್ನು ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ಎತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
He has dethroned rulers and exalted the lowly.
53 ಹಸಿದವರನ್ನು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವುಗಳಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿಸಿ, ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತರನ್ನು ಬರಿಗೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
He has filled the hungry with good things and sent the rich away empty.
54 ನಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳಾದ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನಿಗೂ ಅವನ ಸಂತತಿಗೂ ತಾವು ವಾಗ್ದಾನಮಾಡಿದ ತಮ್ಮ ನಿತ್ಯ ಕರುಣೆಯನ್ನು ಜ್ಞಾಪಕಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು, ತಮ್ಮ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನಿಗೆ, ದೇವರು ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.” (aiōn g165)
He has taken the part of His servant Israel, in remembrance of mercy,
56 ಮರಿಯಳು ಸುಮಾರು ಮೂರು ತಿಂಗಳು ಎಲಿಸಬೇತಳ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು, ಅನಂತರ ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ಹೋದಳು.
So Mary stayed with her about three months, and returned to her house.
57 ಎಲಿಸಬೇತಳಿಗೆ ಹೆರಿಗೆಯ ಕಾಲ ಬಂದಾಗ, ಆಕೆಯು ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹೆತ್ತಳು.
Now the time for Elizabeth to give birth was completed and she bore a son.
58 ಕರ್ತದೇವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಮಹಾಕರುಣೆಯನ್ನು ಆಕೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ತೋರಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಆಕೆಯ ನೆರೆಯವರೂ ಬಂಧುಗಳೂ ಕೇಳಿ, ಆಕೆಯ ಕೂಡ ಸಂತೋಷಪಟ್ಟರು.
Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had used His great mercy with her, and they rejoiced with her.
59 ಅವರು ಎಂಟನೆಯ ದಿನ ಆ ಮಗುವಿಗೆ ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಮಾಡಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬಂದು, ಅವನ ತಂದೆಯ ಹೆಸರಿನಂತೆ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಜಕರೀಯನೆಂದು ನಾಮಕರಣ ಮಾಡಲಿದ್ದರು.
So it was, on the eighth day, that they came to circumcise the child, and they started calling him by the name of his father, Zacharias.
60 ಆದರೆ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಶಿಶುವಿನ ತಾಯಿಯು ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ, “ಹಾಗಲ್ಲ! ಅವನಿಗೆ ‘ಯೋಹಾನ’ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಡಬೇಕು,” ಎಂದಳು.
His mother reacted and said, “Absolutely not; he shall be called John!”
61 ಬಂದಿದ್ದವರು ಆಕೆಗೆ, “ನಿನ್ನ ಬಂಧುಬಳಗದವರಲ್ಲಿ ಆ ಹೆಸರಿನವರು ಒಬ್ಬರೂ ಇಲ್ಲವಲ್ಲಾ,” ಎಂದರು.
So they said to her, “There is no one among your relatives who is called by this name.”
62 ಶಿಶುವನ್ನು ಯಾವ ಹೆಸರಿನಿಂದ ಕರೆಯಬೇಕೆಂದು, ಅವನ ತಂದೆಗೆ ಅವರು ಸನ್ನೆಮಾಡಿದರು.
So they started motioning to his father, as to what he would have him called.
63 ಆಗ ಜಕರೀಯನು ಒಂದು ಬರೆಯುವ ಹಲಗೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ, “ಶಿಶುವಿನ ಹೆಸರು ಯೋಹಾನ,” ಎಂದು ಬರೆದನು. ಆಗ ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯಪಟ್ಟರು.
Asking for a writing tablet he wrote this: “His name is to be John!” They all marveled.
64 ಕೂಡಲೇ ಜಕರೀಯನಿಗೆ ಮಾತು ಬಂತು, ಅವನ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯು ಸಡಿಲವಾಯಿತು, ಅವನು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ದೇವರನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡಾಡಿದನು.
Immediately his mouth was opened and his tongue freed and he started to speak, blessing God.
65 ಈ ಘಟನೆಯಿಂದ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ವಾಸಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದವರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೆ ಭಯವುಂಟಾಯಿತು, ಯೂದಾಯದ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಪ್ರಾಂತದಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಈ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾತನಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
(Well a fear came on all who lived around them; and all these sayings kept being talked about throughout all the hill country of Judea.
66 ಕೇಳಿದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ವಿಸ್ಮಯಗೊಂಡು, “ಈ ಮಗುವು ಎಂಥವನಾಗುವನೋ?” ಎಂದು ತಮ್ಮ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಕರ್ತದೇವರ ಹಸ್ತವು ಈ ಮಗುವಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಇತ್ತು.
All who heard kept them in their hearts saying, “What then will this child be?” And the hand of the Lord was with him.)
67 ಆಗ ಮಗುವಿನ ತಂದೆ ಜಕರೀಯನು ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮಭರಿತನಾಗಿ ಹೀಗೆಂದು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸಿದನು:
Now his father Zacharias was filled with Holy Spirit and prophesied saying:
68 “ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಕರ್ತದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರವಾಗಲಿ, ದೇವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಜನರನ್ನು ಸಂಧಿಸಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ವಿಮೋಚಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
“Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, because He has visited and provided redemption for His people;
69 ಪುರಾತನದಿಂದ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ದೇವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಸೇವಕ ದಾವೀದನ ಮನೆತನದಿಂದ, ನಮಗಾಗಿ ಬಲವಾದ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯ ಕರ್ತದೇವರನ್ನು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. (aiōn g165)
and has raised up a horn of deliverance for us in the house of His servant David
71 ಇದನ್ನು, ನಾವು ನಮ್ಮ ಶತ್ರುಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ದ್ವೇಷಮಾಡುವವರ ಕೈಯಿಂದಲೂ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಹೊಂದುವಂತೆಯೂ
deliverance from our enemies and out of the hand of all who hate us;
72 ನಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳಿಗೆ ಕರುಣೆ ತೋರಿಸುವಂತೆಯೂ ನಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃವಾದ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನಿಗೆ ಆಣೆಯಿಟ್ಟು ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಮಾಡಿದಂತೆಯೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಗೆ ತಂದುಕೊಂಡವನಾಗಿಯೂ
to use mercy with our fathers, even to remember His Holy covenant,
the oath that He swore to our father Abraham;
74 ನಾವು ನಮ್ಮ ಶತ್ರುಗಳ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಹೊಂದಿ ನಿರ್ಭಯವುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿಯೂ
to grant to us (having been rescued from the hand of our enemies) to serve Him without fear,
75 ನಮ್ಮ ಜೀವಮಾನದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಪವಿತ್ರತೆಯಿಂದಲೂ ನೀತಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ಅವರನ್ನೇ ಸೇವಿಸುವವರಾಗುವಂತೆಯೂ ಈ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
in holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our life.
76 “ನನ್ನ ಮಗುವೇ, ನೀನಾದರೋ ಮಹೋನ್ನತರ ಪ್ರವಾದಿ ಎಂದು ಎನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವೆ. ಯಾಕೆಂದರೆ, ನೀನು ಕರ್ತದೇವರ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ, ಅವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೋಗುವೆ.
And you, child, will be called Prophet of the Most High, because you will go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways,
77 ನೀನು ಜನರ ಪಾಪಕ್ಷಮಾಪಣೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಹೊಂದುವ ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವೆ,
to give a knowledge of salvation to His people by the forgiveness of their sins,
78 ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರ ಮಮತೆಯ ಕರುಣೆಯಿಂದಲೇ, ಸ್ವರ್ಗದಿಂದ ನಮಗೆ ಅರುಣೋದಯವು ಉಂಟಾಗಿ
through the merciful compassions of our God, with which the divine Dawn has contemplated us,
79 ಕತ್ತಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಮರಣದ ನೆರಳಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ವಾಸಿಸುವವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಕಾಶಿಸಿ, ನಮ್ಮ ಪಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಸಮಾಧಾನದ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಸುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವೆ.”
to give light to those who are sitting in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.”
80 ಆ ಶಿಶುವಾದ ಯೋಹಾನನು ಬೆಳೆದು, ಆತ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಲಗೊಂಡು; ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ ತೋರ್ಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ದಿನದವರೆಗೆ ಅರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದನು.
So the child kept growing and being strengthened in spirit, and he stayed in uninhabited areas until the day of his manifestation to Israel.
