ನ್ಯಾಯಸ್ಥಾಪಕರು 2
1 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ದೂತನು ಗಿಲ್ಗಾಲಿನಿಂದ ಬೋಕೀಮಿಗೆ ಬಂದು, “ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಈಜಿಪ್ಟಿನಿಂದ ಬರಮಾಡಿ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಆಣೆ ಇಟ್ಟ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸಿದೆನು. ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾಡಿದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ನಿರರ್ಥಕ ಮಾಡೆನು.
And a messenger of the Lord came up from Gilgal to Bochim, And he said, I caused you to go up out of Egypt, and I brought you unto the land which I had sworn unto your fathers; and I said, I will not break my covenant with you for ever.
2 ‘ನೀವು ಈ ದೇಶದ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆ ಮಾಡದೆ, ಅವರ ಬಲಿಪೀಠಗಳನ್ನು ಕೆಡಿವಿಬಿಡಿರಿ,’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದೆನು. ಆದರೆ ನೀವು ನನ್ನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಹೀಗೆ ಏಕೆ ಮಾಡಿದಿರಿ?
But ye for your part shall make no covenant with the inhabitants of this land; their altars shall ye throw down; but ye have not obeyed my voice: what is this ye have done?
3 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ, ‘ನಾನು ಸಹ ಅವರನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಎದುರಿನಿಂದ ಓಡಿಸಿಬಿಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವರು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಳ್ಳುಗಳಂತಿರುವರು. ಅವರ ದೇವರುಗಳು ನಿಮಗೆ ಉರುಲಾಗುವುವು,’ ಎಂದು ನಾನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೆನು.”
And I also have said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be evil neighbors to you, and their gods shall become a snare unto you.
4 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ದೂತನು ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳುವಾಗ, ಜನರು ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಅತ್ತರು.
And it came to pass, when the messenger of the Lord spoke these words unto all the children of Israel, that the people lifted up their voice, and wept.
5 ಆ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬೋಕೀಮ್ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟು, ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಬಲಿಯನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.
And they called the name of that place, Bochim; and they sacrificed there unto the Lord.
6 ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ಜನರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟಾಗ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಬಾಧ್ಯತೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದರು.
And when Joshua had let the people go, the children of Israel went every man unto his inheritance to take possession of the land.
7 ಆದರೆ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅವನ ಕಾಲದಿಂದ ಇನ್ನೂ ಜೀವಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಮಾಡಿದ ಎಲ್ಲ ಮಹತ್ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಅರಿತಿದ್ದ ಹಿರಿಯರ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸಿದರು.
And the people served the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that lived many days after Joshua, who had seen all the great deeds of the Lord, which he had done for Israel.
8 ಆದರೆ ನೂನನ ಮಗನೆಂಬ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ನೂರಹತ್ತು ವರ್ಷ ಪ್ರಾಯದವನಾಗಿ ಮರಣಹೊಂದಿದನು.
Then died Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, being one hundred and ten years old.
9 ಅವನನ್ನು ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮನ ಬೆಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಾಷ್ ಪರ್ವತದ ಉತ್ತರ ದಿಕ್ಕಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅವನ ಬಾಧ್ಯತೆಯ ಮೇರೆಯಾದ ತಿಮ್ನತ್ ಹೆರೆಸ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಹೂಳಿಟ್ಟರು.
And they buried him on the border of his inheritance in Timnath-cheres, in the mountain of Ephraim, on the north side of mount Ga'ash.
10 ಅವನ ಕಾಲದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದ ಮೇಲೆ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರನ್ನೂ ಅವರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಮಾಡಿದ ಮಹತ್ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅರಿಯದಿದ್ದ ಬೇರೊಂದು ಸಂತಾನವು ಹುಟ್ಟಿತು.
And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers; and there arose another generation after them, who knew not the Lord, and likewise not the deeds which he had done for Israel.
11 ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಕೆಟ್ಟತನ ಮಾಡಿ, ಬಾಳನನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸಿ,
And the children of Israel did the evil in the eyes of the Lord, and served the Be'alim:
12 ತಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಗಳನ್ನು ಈಜಿಪ್ಟಿನಿಂದ ಹೊರಡಿಸಿದ ತಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು, ತಮ್ಮ ಸುತ್ತಲಿರುವ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ದೇವರುಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದು, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಕೋಪವನ್ನೆಬ್ಬಿಸಿದರು.
And they forsook the Lord the God of their fathers, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt, and they went after other gods, of the gods of the nations that were round about them, and they bowed themselves unto them, and incensed the Lord.
13 ಅವರು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು, ಬಾಳನನ್ನೂ ಅಷ್ಟೋರೆತನ್ನೂ ಸೇವಿಸಿದರು.
And they forsook the Lord, and served Baal and 'Ashtaroth.
14 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಉರಿಗೊಂಡು, ಅವರನ್ನು ಕೊಳ್ಳೆಗಾರರ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟರು. ಅವರು ಇನ್ನು ಮೇಲೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಶತ್ರುಗಳಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ನಿಲ್ಲದ ಹಾಗೆ, ಅವರ ಸುತ್ತಲಿರುವ ಅವರ ಶತ್ರುಗಳ ಕೈಗೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಮಾರಿಬಿಟ್ಟರು.
And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and he delivered them into the hand of spoilers who spoiled them, and he sold them into the hand of their enemies round about, and they were not able any longer to stand before their enemies.
15 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೇಳಿದ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ಕರ್ತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಆಣೆಯಿಟ್ಟ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ಅವರು ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋದರೂ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇಡು ಆಗುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಕೈ ಅವರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿತ್ತು.
Whithersoever they went out, the hand of the Lord was against them for evil, as the Lord had spoken, and as the Lord had sworn unto them: and they were greatly distressed.
16 ಆದರೂ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕೊಳ್ಳೆಹೊಡೆಯುವವರ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಬಿಡಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಿದರು.
And the Lord raised up judges, and they delivered them out of the hand of those that spoiled them.
17 ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳದೆ, ಅನ್ಯದೇವರುಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದು, ತಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ನಡೆದ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಶೀಘ್ರವಾಗಿ ತೊರೆದುಬಿಟ್ಟರು. ಅವರು ಮಾಡಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ.
But also unto their judges they did not hearken; but they went astray after other gods, and bowed themselves unto them: they turned quickly out of the way which their fathers had walked in, to obey the commandments of the Lord; they did not so.
18 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಅವರಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಿದಾಗ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಯ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದು, ಆ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಯ ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅವರನ್ನು ಅವರ ಶತ್ರುಗಳ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ರಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬಾಧಿಸಿ, ಶ್ರಮೆಪಡಿಸುವವರ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಗೋಳಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಕನಿಕರಪಟ್ಟರು.
And when the Lord raised them up judges, then was the Lord with the judge, and he delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge; for the Lord bethought himself because of their groaning by reason of those that oppressed them and ill-treated them.
19 ಆ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಯ ಮರಣದ ನಂತರ, ಅವರು ತಿರುಗಿ ಮಾರ್ಗತಪ್ಪಿ, ಅನ್ಯದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿ ಹೋಗಿ, ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸಿ, ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದು, ತಮ್ಮ ಹಿರಿಯರಿಗಿಂತ ಅಧಿಕ ಭ್ರಷ್ಟರಾದರು. ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ದುರ್ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳನ್ನೂ ಹಟಮಾರಿತನವನ್ನೂ ಬಿಡಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ.
And it came to pass, when the judge died, that they returned, and became more corrupt than their fathers, in going after other gods to serve them, and to bow down unto them: they omitted nothing from their doings, and from their stubborn way.
20 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೋಪದಿಂದ ಉರಿಗೊಂಡು, “ಈ ಜನಾಂಗವು ನಾನು ಅವರ ಪಿತೃಗಳಿಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮೀರಿ, ನನ್ನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳದೆ ಹೋದದ್ದರಿಂದ,
And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel; and he said, For the cause that this people have transgressed my covenant which I commanded their fathers, and have not hearkened unto my voice:
21 ನಾನು ಸಹ ಇನ್ನು ಮೇಲೆ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ಮರಣಹೊಂದುವಾಗ ಉಳಿಸಿದ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬರನ್ನಾದರೂ ಇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೊರಡಿಸಿಬಿಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದರು.
So will I also for my part not drive out henceforth any man from before them out of the nations which Joshua left when he died;
22 ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ತಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಗಳು ಕೈಗೊಂಡು ನಡೆದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ತಾವು ಕೈಗೊಂಡು ನಡೆಯುವರೋ ಇಲ್ಲವೋ ಎಂದು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ,
In order to prove through them the Israelites, whether they will keep the way of the Lord, to walk therein, as their fathers did keep it, or not.
23 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಆ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋಶುವನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಡದೆ, ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಶೀಘ್ರವಾಗಿ ಓಡಿಸಿಬಿಡದೆ ಉಳಿಸಿದರು.
And thus did the Lord leave these nations, so as not to drive them out speedily; and he delivered them not into the hand of Joshua.
