ನ್ಯಾಯಸ್ಥಾಪಕರು 17
1 ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮ್ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಪ್ರಾಂತದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೀಕ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರುಳ್ಳ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಇದ್ದನು.
And there was a man of the mountain of Ephraim, whose name was Michayhu.
2 ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ತಾಯಿಗೆ, “ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ಸಾವಿರದ ನೂರು ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ ನಾಣ್ಯಗಳು ಕಳುವಾದಾಗ, ನೀನು ಆ ಹಣವನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಶಪಿಸಿದೆಯಲ್ಲಾ? ಇಗೋ, ಆ ನಾಣ್ಯಗಳು ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇವೆ. ನಾನೇ ಅದನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡೆನು,” ಎಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನ ತಾಯಿ, “ನನ್ನ ಮಗನೇ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸಲಿ,” ಎಂದಳು.
And he said unto his mother, The eleven hundred shekels of silver that were taken from thee, about which thou cursedst, and spokest of also in my ears, —behold, the silver is with me; I took it. And his mother said, Blessed be my son unto the Lord.
3 ಅವನು ಆ ಸಾವಿರದ ನೂರು ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯ ನಾಣ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ತಾಯಿಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಾಗ, ಅವನ ತಾಯಿ, “ನನ್ನ ಮಗನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಕೆತ್ತಿದ ವಿಗ್ರಹವನ್ನೂ, ಎರಕದ ವಿಗ್ರಹವನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಈ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಿಸಿದ್ದೆನು; ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ಅದನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಕೊಡುವೆನು,” ಎಂದಳು.
And he restored the eleven hundred shekels of silver to his mother; and his mother said, I had wholly dedicated the silver unto the Lord from my hand, for my son, to make a graven and molten image; and now I will give it back unto thee.
4 ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಆ ಹಣವನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ತಾಯಿಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು. ಆಗ ಅವನ ತಾಯಿ ಇನ್ನೂರು ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯ ನಾಣ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅಕ್ಕಸಾಲಿಗನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಳು. ಅವನು ಅವುಗಳಿಂದ ಕೆತ್ತಿದ ವಿಗ್ರಹವನ್ನೂ, ಎರಕದ ವಿಗ್ರಹವನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡಿದನು. ಅವು ಮೀಕನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದವು.
Yet he gave the money back unto his mother; and his mother took two hundred shekels of silver, and gave them to the silversmith, who made thereof a graven and molten image; and it was in the house of Micah.
5 ಈ ಮೀಕ ಎಂಬವನಿಗೆ ದೇವರ ಮನೆ ಇದ್ದುದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಒಂದು ಏಫೋದನ್ನೂ, ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡಿ, ತನ್ನ ಪುತ್ರರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಯಾಜಕ ಸೇವೆಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠೆ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
And the man Micah had a house of god, and he made an ephod, and teraphim, and consecrated one of his sons, who became his priest.
6 ಆ ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅರಸನು ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬನು ತನ್ನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ತೋಚಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did what seemed right in his own eyes.
7 ಯೆಹೂದದ ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿನವನಾದ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಗೋತ್ರದ ಲೇವಿಯನಾದಂಥ ಒಬ್ಬ ಪ್ರಾಯದವನಿದ್ದನು. ಅವನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದನು.
And there was a young man out of Beth-lechem-judah of the family of Judah, but he was a Levite, and sojourned there.
8 ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಸಿಕ್ಕುವ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಯಾಗುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮ್ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋದನು. ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಮಾಡುವಾಗ ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮ್ ಬೆಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮೀಕನ ಮನೆಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದನು.
And the man departed from the city, from Beth-lechem-judah, to sojourn where he could find [a place]; and he came to the mountain of Ephraim to the house of Micah, as he was pursuing his journey.
9 ಆಗ ಮೀಕನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಎಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಬಂದೆ?” ಎಂದನು. ಅವನು ಮೀಕನಿಗೆ, “ನಾನು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿನವನಾದ ಲೇವಿಯನು. ನನಗೆ ಸ್ಥಳ ಸಿಕ್ಕಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಯಾಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ಹೊರಟಿದ್ದೇನೆ,” ಎಂದನು.
And Micah said unto him, Whence comest thou? And he said unto him, I am a Levite from Beth-lechem-judah, and I go to sojourn where I may find [a place].
10 ಮೀಕನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಮಾಡಿ ನನಗೆ ತಂದೆಯಾಗಿಯೂ, ಯಾಜಕನಾಗಿಯೂ ಇರು. ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ವರುಷಕ್ಕೆ ಹತ್ತು ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯ ನಾಣ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಒಂದು ದುಸ್ತು ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಆಹಾರವನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡುವೆನು,” ಎಂದನು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಲೇವಿಯನು ಹೋದನು.
And Micah said unto him, Remain with me, and become unto me a father and a priest, and I will give thee ten shekels of silver for the year, and suitable apparel, and thy victuals. And the Levite went in.
11 ಲೇವಿಯು ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮ್ಮತಿಸಿದನು. ಆ ಯೌವನಸ್ಥನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಅವನ ಪುತ್ರರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನ ಹಾಗೆ ಇದ್ದನು.
And the Levite consented to dwell with the man; and the young man was unto him as one of his sons.
12 ಮೀಕನು ಲೇವಿಯನನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠೆ ಮಾಡಿದನು. ಆ ಯೌವನಸ್ಥನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಯಾಜಕನಾದನು. ಅವನು ಮೀಕನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದನು.
And Micah consecrated the Levite; and the young man became his priest, and remained in the house of Micah.
13 ಆಗ ಮೀಕನು, “ನನಗೆ ಒಬ್ಬ ಲೇವಿಯನು ಯಾಜಕನಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನನಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವರೆಂದು ಈಗ ತಿಳಿಯುತ್ತೇನೆ,” ಎಂದುಕೊಂಡನು.
Then said Micah, Now I know that the Lord will do me good, seeing I have obtained a Levite for priest.
