ನ್ಯಾಯಸ್ಥಾಪಕರು 13

1 ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ತಿರುಗಿ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಅವರನ್ನು ನಾಲ್ವತ್ತು ವರ್ಷದವರೆಗೆ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟರು.

And the sons of Israel again did the thing that was wicked in the sight of Yahweh, —so Yahweh delivered them up into the hand of the Philistines, forty years.

2 ಆದರೆ ಚೊರ್ಗದವನಾದ ದಾನನ ಗೋತ್ರದ ಮಾನೋಹ ಎಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿದ್ದನು. ಅವನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಹೆರದೆ, ಬಂಜೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದಳು.

And there was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, and, his name, was Manoah; and, his wife, was barren, and had borne no child.

3 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ದೂತನು ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷವಾಗಿ ಅವಳಿಗೆ, “ಇಗೋ, ನೀನು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಹೆರದೆ ಬಂಜೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದೀಯೆ. ಆದರೆ ನೀನು ಗರ್ಭಧರಿಸಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹೆರುವೆ.

And the messenger of Yahweh appeared unto the woman, —and said unto her—Lo! I pray thee, thou, art barren, and hast borne no child, but thou shalt conceive, and shalt bear a son.

4 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನೀನು ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವನ್ನೂ ಮದ್ಯಪಾನವನ್ನೂ ಕುಡಿಯದೆ, ಅಶುಚಿಯಾದ ಒಂದನ್ನಾದರೂ ತಿನ್ನದೆ, ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆಯಾಗಿರಬೇಕು.

Now, therefore, beware, I pray thee, and do not drink wine or strong drink, —nor eat anything unclean;

5 ನೀನು ಗರ್ಭವನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿ, ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹೆರುವೆ; ಅವನ ತಲೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಕ್ಷೌರದ ಕತ್ತಿ ಬರಬಾರದು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಗರ್ಭದಿಂದಲೇ ಆ ಹುಡುಗನು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಿತನಾದ ನಾಜೀರನಾಗಿರುವನು. ಅವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರನ್ನು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಬಿಡಿಸಿ, ರಕ್ಷಿಸಲು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸುವನು,” ಎಂದನು.

for lo! thou, art about to conceive and bear a son, and no, razor, shall come on his head, for, one separate unto God, shall the boy be from his birth, —and, he, shall begin to save Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.

6 ಆಗ ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ಬಂದು ತನ್ನ ಗಂಡನಿಗೆ, “ಒಬ್ಬ ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯ ನನ್ನ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಬಂದಿದ್ದನು. ಅವನ ರೂಪವು ದೇವದೂತನ ರೂಪದ ಹಾಗೆ ಮಹಾ ಭಯಂಕರವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ನಾನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಬಂದೆ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ.

So the woman came in, and told her husband, saying, A man of God, came unto me, and, his, appearance, was as the appearance of the messenger of God, reverend exceedingly, —and I asked him not whence he was, and, his name, he told me not.

7 ಅವನು ನನಗೆ, ‘ನೀನು ಗರ್ಭವತಿಯಾಗಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹೆರುವೆ; ಈಗ ನೀನು ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವನ್ನೂ, ಮದ್ಯವನ್ನೂ ಕುಡಿಯದೆ, ಅಶುದ್ಧವಾದ ಒಂದನ್ನಾದರೂ ತಿನ್ನದೆ ಇರು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಆ ಹುಡುಗನು ಹುಟ್ಟಿದಂದಿನಿಂದ ಮರಣಹೊಂದುವವರೆಗೆ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಿತನಾಗಿರುವನು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು,’ ಎಂದಳು.”

But he said unto me, Lo! thou art about to conceive, and bear a son, —now, therefore, do not drink wine or strong drink, nor eat anything unclean, for, one separate unto God, shall the boy be, from his birth until the day of his death.

8 ಆಗ ಮಾನೋಹನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡು, “ನನ್ನ ಕರ್ತದೇವರೇ, ನೀವು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಸಾರಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು, ಹುಟ್ಟುವ ಕೂಸಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ನಾವು ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ನಮಗೆ ಕಲಿಸಲಿ,” ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿದನು.

Then Manoah made entreaty unto Yahweh, and said: Pardon, O My Lord! the man of God whom thou didst send, I pray thee, let him come again unto us, that he may teach us what we are to do, unto the boy that is to be born.

9 ದೇವರು ಮಾನೋಹನ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದರು. ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತಿರುವಾಗ, ದೇವದೂತನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಅವಳ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದನು. ಆಗ ಅವಳ ಗಂಡನಾದ ಮಾನೋಹನು ಅವಳ ಸಂಗಡ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ.

And God hearkened unto the voice of Manoah, —and the messenger of God came again unto the woman, as, she, was sitting in the field, Manoah her husband, not being with her.

10 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವಳು ಬೇಗ ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ, ತನ್ನ ಗಂಡನಿಗೆ, “ಇಗೋ, ಆ ದಿನ ನನಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷನಾದ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ತಿರುಗಿ ನನಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ,” ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದಳು.

So the woman made haste, and ran, and told her husband, —and said unto him, Lo! the man, hath appeared unto me, who came the other day unto me.

11 ಆಗ ಮಾನೋಹನು ಎದ್ದು ತನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯೊಡನೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು, ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಈ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದವನು ನೀನೋ?” ಎಂದನು. ಅವನು, “ನಾನೇ,” ಎಂದನು.

Then Manoah arose, and followed his wife, —and came unto the man, and said unto him—Art, thou, the man that spake unto the wife? And he said—I am.

12 ಮಾನೋಹನು, “ನೀನು ಹೇಳಿದ ಮಾತುಗಳು ನೆರವೇರುವಾಗ, ನಾವು ಆ ಕೂಸಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಮಾಡತಕ್ಕದ್ದೇನು? ಅವನನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ನಡಿಸತಕ್ಕದ್ದು?” ಎಂದನು.

And Manoah said, Now, let thy words come to pass, —What shall be the rule for the boy, and his work?

13 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ದೂತನು ಮಾನೋಹನಿಗೆ, “ನಾನು ಈ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೆಲ್ಲದರಲ್ಲಿ ಅವಳು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದು,

And the messenger of Yahweh said unto Manoah, —Of all that I said unto the woman, let her beware.

14 ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿ ಗಿಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟುವ ಒಂದನ್ನೂ ತಿನ್ನದೆ, ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವನ್ನೂ, ಮದ್ಯವನ್ನೂ ಕುಡಿಯದೆ, ಅಶುಚಿಯಾದ ಒಂದನ್ನೂ ತಿನ್ನದೆ ಇದ್ದು, ನಾನು ಅವಳಿಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲಿ,” ಎಂದನು.

Of nothing that cometh of the vine, may she eat, nor wine nor strong drink, let her drink, nor, anything unclean, let her eat, —all that I commanded her, let her observe.

15 ಮಾನೋಹನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ದೂತನಿಗೆ, “ನಾವು ನಿನಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಮೇಕೆಯ ಮರಿಯನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡುವವರೆಗೆ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎಂದು ಬೇಡುತ್ತೇನೆ,” ಎಂದನು.

And Manoah said unto the messenger of Yahweh, —I pray thee, let us detain thee, that we may make ready for thy presence, a kid.

16 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ದೂತನು ಮಾನೋಹನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರೂ, ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ನೀನು ದಹನಬಲಿಯನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರೆ, ಅದನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಬೇಕು,” ಎಂದನು.

But the messenger of Yahweh said unto Manoah—Though thou detain me, yet will I not eat of thy food, and, though thou make ready an ascending-sacrifice, unto Yahweh, must thou cause it to ascend. For Manoah had not discerned that, the angel of Yahweh, he was.

17 ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ದೂತನೆಂದು ಮಾನೋಹನು ಅರಿಯದೆ ಇದ್ದನು. ಮಾನೋಹನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ದೂತನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಹೇಳಿದ ಮಾತುಗಳು ನೆರವೇರುವಾಗ, ನಾವು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಘನಪಡಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಸರೇನು?” ಎಂದನು.

Then said Manoah unto the messenger of Yahweh, What is thy name, —that, when thy word cometh to pass, we may do thee honour?

18 ಆದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ದೂತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನನ್ನ ಹೆಸರು ಏನೆಂದು ನೀನು ಕೇಳುವುದೇನು? ಆ ಹೆಸರು ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯಕರವಾದದ್ದು,” ಎಂದನು.

And the messenger of Yahweh said unto him, Wherefore is it, that thou shouldst ask after my name, —seeing that, it, is Wonderful?

19 ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾನೋಹನು ಮೇಕೆಯ ಮರಿಯನ್ನೂ, ಧಾನ್ಯ ಸಮರ್ಪಣೆಯನ್ನೂ ತಂದು, ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಬಂಡೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದನು. ಮಾನೋಹನೂ, ಅವನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯೂ ನೋಡುವಾಗ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ದೂತನು ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯಕರವಾದ ಸಂಗತಿಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದನು.

So Manoah took the kid, and the meal-offering, and caused them to ascend upon the rock unto Yahweh, who was about to do, wondrously, while Manoah and his wife were looking on.

20 ಅಗ್ನಿ ಜ್ವಾಲೆಯು ಬಲಿಪೀಠದಿಂದ ಆಕಾಶಕ್ಕೆ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಏಳುವಾಗ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ದೂತನು ಬಲಿಪೀಠದ ಜ್ವಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು. ಅದನ್ನು ಮಾನೋಹನೂ, ಅವನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯೂ ಕಂಡು, ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೋರಲು ಬಿದ್ದರು.

And it came to pass, when the flame ascended from off the altar, towards the heavens, that the messenger of Yahweh ascended in the flame of the altar, —while Manoah and his wife were looking on. Then fell they on their faces, to the earth.

21 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ದೂತನು ಮಾನೋಹನಿಗೂ, ಅವನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಗೂ ತಿರುಗಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆಗ ಮಾನೋಹನು, ಅವನು ದೇವರ ದೂತನು ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡನು.

And the messenger of Yahweh did no more appear unto Manoah or unto his wife. Then, Manoah knew that, the messenger of Yahweh, he was.

22 ಮಾನೋಹನು ತನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಗೆ, “ನಾವು ದೇವರನ್ನು ಕಂಡದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಸಾಯುವೆವು,” ಎಂದನು.

And Manoah said unto his wife, We shall, die, —for, upon God, have we looked.

23 ಅವನ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದರೆ, ಅವರು ನಮ್ಮ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ದಹನಬಲಿಯನ್ನೂ, ಅರ್ಪಣೆಯನ್ನೂ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಇವುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಮಗೆ ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಈಗ ಹೇಳಿದವುಗಳನ್ನು ನಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದಳು.

But his wife said unto him, If Yahweh had been pleased to put us to death, he would not have received at our hand, an ascending-sacrifice and a meal-offering, nor would he have shewed us all these things, —and, at such a time, have let us hear the like of this!

24 ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹೆತ್ತು, ಅವನಿಗೆ ಸಂಸೋನ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟಳು. ಆ ಹುಡುಗನು ಬೆಳೆದನು. ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸಿದರು.

So the woman bare a son, and called his name Samson, —and the boy grew, and Yahweh blessed him.

25 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಚೊರ್ಗಕ್ಕೂ ಎಷ್ಟಾವೋಲಿಗೂ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ದಾನನ ದಂಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆತ್ಮರು ಆಗಾಗ್ಗೆ ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು.

And the spirit of Yahweh began to urge him to and fro, in the camp of Dan, —between Zorah and Eshtaol.
