ಯೋವೇಲನು 1
1 ಪೆತುಯೇಲನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋಯೇಲನಿಗೆ ಬಂದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ವಾಕ್ಯವು:
A word of YHWH that has been to Joel, son of Pethuel:
2 ಹಿರಿಯರೇ, ಇದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿರಿ: ದೇಶದ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳೇ, ಕಿವಿಗೊಡಿರಿ. ಇಂಥ ದುರ್ಘಟನೆಯು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲಾದರೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲಾದರೂ ಉಂಟಾಯಿತೋ?
Hear this, you aged ones, And give ear, all you inhabitants of the land, Has this been in your days? Or in the days of your fathers?
3 ಇದರ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿರಿ, ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಲಿ, ಅವರ ಮಕ್ಕಳೂ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ತಲಾಂತರಕ್ಕೂ ತಿಳಿಸಲಿ.
Concerning it talk to your sons, And your sons to their sons, And their sons to another generation.
4 ಚೂರಿಮಿಡತೆ ತಿಂದು, ಉಳಿದಿದ್ದ ಬೆಳೆಯನ್ನು ಗುಂಪುಮಿಡತೆ ತಿಂದುಬಿಟ್ಟಿತು. ಗುಂಪುಮಿಡತೆ ತಿಂದು ಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದನ್ನು, ಕುದುರೆಮಿಡತೆ ತಿಂದುಬಿಟ್ಟಿತು. ಕುದುರೆಮಿಡತೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಕಂಬಳಿಮಿಡತೆ ತಿಂದುಬಿಟ್ಟಿತು.
What is left of the palmer-worm, the locust has eaten, And what is left of the locust, The cankerworm has eaten, And what is left of the cankerworm, The caterpillar has eaten.
5 ಅಮಲೇರಿದವರೇ, ಎಚ್ಚೆತ್ತು ಅಳಿರಿ; ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸ ಕುಡಿಯುವವರೆಲ್ಲರೇ, ಹೊಸ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸದ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಗೋಳಾಡಿರಿ; ಏಕೆಂದರೆ, ಅದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಾಯಿಗೆ ಇನ್ನು ದೊರಕುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
Awake, you drunkards, and weep, And howl all drinking wine, because of the juice, For it has been cut off from your mouth.
6 ನನ್ನ ದೇಶದ ಮೇಲೆ ಒಂದು ಜನಾಂಗವು ಏರಿ ಬಂತು. ಅದು ಬಲವಾದದ್ದೂ, ಲೆಕ್ಕವಿಲ್ಲದ್ದೂ; ಅದರ ಕೋರೆಗಳು ಸಿಂಹದ ಹಲ್ಲುಗಳು, ಸಿಂಹಿಣಿಯ ಹಲ್ಲುಗಳು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಇವೆ.
For a nation has come up on My land, Strong, and there is no number, Its teeth [are] the teeth of a lion, And it has the jaw-teeth of a lioness.
7 ಅದು ನನ್ನ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿಬಳ್ಳಿಯನ್ನು ಹಾಳು ಮಾಡಿ, ನನ್ನ ಅಂಜೂರದ ಗಿಡವನ್ನು ಮುರಿದು ಹಾಕಿದೆ. ಅದನ್ನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಸುಲಿದು ಬಿಸಾಡಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಅದರ ಕೊಂಬೆಗಳು ಬಿಳುಪಾದವು.
It has made My vine become a desolation, And My fig tree become a splinter, It has made it thoroughly bare, and has cast down, Its branches have been made white.
8 ಯೌವನದ ಗಂಡನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಗೋಣಿತಟ್ಟು ಧರಿಸಿ, ಕನ್ಯೆಯ ಹಾಗೆ ಪ್ರಲಾಪಿಸು.
Wail, as a virgin girds with sackcloth, For the husband of her youth.
9 ಧಾನ್ಯ ಸಮರ್ಪಣೆಯನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಪಾನಾರ್ಪಣೆಯನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅರ್ಪಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಸೇವಕರಾದ ಯಾಜಕರು ಗೋಳಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.
Present and drink-offering have been cut off from the house of YHWH, The priests have mourned, servants of YHWH.
10 ಹೊಲವು ಹಾಳಾಗಿದೆ; ಭೂಮಿಯು ಒಣಗಿದೆ, ಧಾನ್ಯವು ನಾಶವಾಗಿದೆ; ಹೊಸ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವು ಒಣಗಿದೆ; ಎಣ್ಣೆ ತೀರಿಹೋಗಿದೆ.
The field is spoiled, The ground has mourned, For the grain is spoiled, New wine has been dried up, oil languishes.
11 ರೈತರೇ, ರೋದಿಸಿರಿ, ತೋಟಗಾರರೇ, ಪರಿತಪಿಸಿರಿ; ಗೋಧಿ ಮತ್ತು ಜವೆಗೋಧಿಗಾಗಿ ದುಃಖಿಸಿ; ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಹೊಲದ ಬೆಳೆ ನಾಶವಾಗಿದೆ.
Be ashamed, you farmers, Howl, vinedressers, for wheat and for barley, For the harvest of the field has perished.
12 ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾಲತೆ ಒಣಗಿದೆ; ಅಂಜೂರದ ಗಿಡ ಬಾಡಿ ಹೋಗಿದೆ; ದಾಳಿಂಬೆ, ಖರ್ಜೂರ, ಸೇಬು ಮುಂತಾದ ಫಲವೃಕ್ಷಗಳು ಒಣಗಿ ಬೆಂಡಾಗಿವೆ. ನರಮಾನವರು ಸೊರಗಿ ಸಂತೋಷವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಸಪ್ಪೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
The vine has been dried up, And the fig tree languishes, Pomegranate, also palm, and apple-tree, All trees of the field have withered, For joy has been dried up from the sons of men.
13 ಯಾಜಕರೇ, ಗೋಣಿತಟ್ಟು ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡು ಗೋಳಾಡಿರಿ. ಬಲಿಪೀಠದ ಸೇವಕರೇ, ಗೋಳಾಡಿರಿ. ನನ್ನ ದೇವರ ಸೇವಕರೇ, ಬಂದು ಗೋಣಿತಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ರಾತ್ರಿಯೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕಳೆಯಿರಿ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ, ಧಾನ್ಯ ಸಮರ್ಪಣೆಯೂ ಪಾನಾರ್ಪಣೆಯೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರ ಆಲಯದಿಂದ ನಿಂತುಹೋಗಿವೆ.
Gird, and lament, you priests, Howl, you servants of the altar, Come in, lodge in sackcloth, servants of my God, For present and drink-offering have been withheld from the house of your God.
14 ಪವಿತ್ರ ಉಪವಾಸವನ್ನು ಘೋಷಿಸಿರಿ. ಪವಿತ್ರ ಸಭೆಯನ್ನು ಕರೆಯಿರಿ. ಹಿರಿಯರನ್ನೂ ದೇಶದ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡಿಸಿ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಮೊರೆಯಿಡಿರಿ.
Sanctify a fast, proclaim a restraint, Gather [the] elderly [and] all those inhabiting the land, [Into the] house of your God YHWH,
15 ಆ ದಿನ ಭಯಂಕರವಾದದ್ದು! ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ದಿವಸವು ಸಮೀಪವಾಗಿದೆ. ಸರ್ವಶಕ್ತರ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ಇದು ನಾಶವಾದಂತೆ ಬರುವುದು.
And cry to YHWH, “Aah! For the day! For [the] Day of YHWH [is] near, And it comes as destruction from [the] Almighty.
16 ನಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣೆದುರೇ ಆಹಾರವು ಹಾಳಾಯಿತಲ್ಲಾ. ಸಂತೋಷವೂ ಉಲ್ಲಾಸವೂ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರ ಆಲಯವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋಯಿತಲ್ಲವೇ?
Is food not cut off before our eyes? Joy and rejoicing from the house of our God?
17 ಬೀಜಗಳು ಹೆಂಟೆಗಳ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಕೆಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗಿವೆ. ಉಗ್ರಾಣಗಳು ನಾಶವಾಗಿವೆ. ಕಣಜಗಳು ಕುಸಿದುಬಿದ್ದಿವೆ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಧಾನ್ಯವು ಒಣಗಿದೆ.
Scattered things have rotted under their clods, Storehouses have been desolated, Granaries have been broken down, For the grain has withered.
18 ಪಶುಗಳು ನರಳುತ್ತವೆ. ದನದ ಹಿಂಡುಗಳು ಕಳವಳಗೊಂಡಿವೆ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಮೇವು ಇಲ್ಲ; ಕುರಿಮಂದೆಗಳು ಸಹ ಕಷ್ಟಪಡುತ್ತಲಿವೆ.
How livestock have sighed! Perplexed have been droves of oxen, For there is no pasture for them, Also droves of sheep have been desolated.
19 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರೇ, ನಿಮಗೆ ಮೊರೆಯಿಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಬೆಂಕಿಯು ಹುಲ್ಲುಗಾವಲನ್ನು ದಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿದೆ; ಜ್ವಾಲೆಯು ಅಡವಿಯ ಮರಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಸುಟ್ಟುಬಿಟ್ಟಿವೆ.
To You, O YHWH, I call, For fire has consumed lovely places of a wilderness, And a flame has set on fire all trees of the field.
20 ಕಾಡುಮೃಗಗಳು ಸಹ ನಿನ್ನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಲೆಯೆತ್ತಿವೆ. ನೀರಿನ ಹೊಳೆಗಳು ಬತ್ತಿ ಹೋಗಿವೆ. ಹುಲ್ಲುಗಾವಲನ್ನು ಬೆಂಕಿಯು ದಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿದೆ.
Also the livestock of the field long for You, For dried up have been streams of water, And fire has consumed lovely places of a wilderness!”
