ಯೋಬನು 4
1 ತೇಮಾನ್ಯನಾದ ಎಲೀಫಜನು ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟನು:
Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,
2 “ಒಬ್ಬನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತಾಡ ತೊಡಗಿದರೆ, ನಿನಗೆ ಬೇಸರಿಕೆ ಉಂಟಾಗುವುದೋ? ಮಾತಾಡದೆ ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಇರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾರಿಂದಾದೀತು?
[If] we assay to commune with thee, wilt thou be grieved? but who can withhold himself from speaking?
3 ಅನೇಕರಿಗೆ ನೀನು ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಕೊಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನೂ ಬಲಹೀನ ಕೈಗಳನ್ನು ಬಲಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನೂ ಯೋಚಿಸು.
Behold, thou hast instructed many, and thou hast strengthened the weak hands.
4 ಎಡವಿ ಬೀಳುವವನನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ನುಡಿಗಳು ಎದ್ದು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದವು. ಬಲಹೀನವಾದ ಮೊಣಕಾಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಬಲಪಡಿಸಿದೆ.
Thy words have upholden him that was falling, and thou hast strengthened the feeble knees.
5 ಈಗ ಆಪತ್ತು ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಂದದ್ದರಿಂದ ನೀನು ದಣಿಯುತ್ತಿರುವೆ; ನಿನಗೂ ಕಡುಕಷ್ಟ ತಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಕಳವಳಪಡುತ್ತಿರುವೆ.
But now it is come upon thee, and thou faintest; it toucheth thee, and thou art troubled.
6 ನಿನ್ನ ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಯೇ ನಿನಗೆ ಭರವಸೆಯೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಸನ್ಮಾಮಾರ್ಗಗಳು ನಿನ್ನ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯೂ ಆಗಿರಬೇಕಲ್ಲವೇ?
[Is] not [this] thy fear, thy confidence, thy hope, and the uprightness of thy ways?
7 “ನೆನಪುಮಾಡಿಕೋ, ನಿರಪರಾಧಿಯಾಗಿ ನಾಶವಾದವನು ಯಾವನು? ನೀತಿವಂತರು ಅಳಿದು ಹೋದದ್ದು ಎಲ್ಲಿ?
Remember, I pray thee, who [ever] perished, being innocent? or where were the righteous cut off?
8 ನಾನು ಕಂಡ ಹಾಗೆ ಕೆಟ್ಟತನವನ್ನು ಊಳುವವರೂ ದುಷ್ಟತನವನ್ನು ಬಿತ್ತುವವರೂ ಅದನ್ನೇ ಕೊಯ್ಯುವರು.
Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same.
9 ದೇವರ ಉಸಿರಿನಿಂದ ಅವರು ಕ್ಷಯಿಸಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾರೆ. ದೇವರ ದಂಡನೆಯಿಂದ ಅಂಥವರು ನಾಶವಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ;
By the blast of God they perish, and by the breath of his nostrils are they consumed.
10 ಸಿಂಹಗಳು ಗರ್ಜಿಸಬಹುದು ಮತ್ತು ಕೂಗಬಹುದು, ಆದರೂ ಪ್ರಾಯದ ಸಿಂಹಗಳ ಹಲ್ಲುಗಳು ಮುರಿದುಹೋಗಿವೆ.
The roaring of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, and the teeth of the young lions, are broken.
11 ಸಿಂಹವು ಬೇಟೆ ಇಲ್ಲದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಾಶವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ; ಸಿಂಹದ ಮರಿಗಳು ಚದರಿಹೋಗುವವು.
The old lion perisheth for lack of prey, and the stout lion’s whelps are scattered abroad.
12 “ಒಂದು ಮಾತು ನನಗೆ ಗುಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿದುಬಂತು, ಅದರ ಪಿಸುಮಾತು ನನ್ನ ಕಿವಿಗೆ ಬಿತ್ತು.
Now a thing was secretly brought to me, and mine ear received a little thereof.
13 ರಾತ್ರಿ ಕನಸಿನ ಆಲೋಚನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಗಾಢನಿದ್ರೆಯು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಹತ್ತುವಾಗಲೂ
In thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falleth on men,
14 ಭಯವೂ ನಡುಕವೂ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು, ನನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಎಲುಬುಗಳನ್ನು ನಡುಗಿಸಿತು.
Fear came upon me, and trembling, which made all my bones to shake.
15 ಒಂದು ಆತ್ಮವು ನನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಹಾದುಹೋಯಿತು, ಆಗ ನನ್ನ ಮೈ ರೋಮವೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಿಮಿರಿ ನಿಂತವು.
Then a spirit passed before my face; the hair of my flesh stood up:
16 ಆ ಆತ್ಮ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದರೂ ಅದು ಏನೆಂದು ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅದರ ರೂಪವು ನನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣು ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಂತಿತ್ತು, ಆಗ ಒಂದು ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮ ಸ್ವರವು ಕೇಳಿಸಿತು:
It stood still, but I could not discern the form thereof: an image [was] before mine eyes, [there was] silence, and I heard a voice, [saying],
17 ‘ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ದೇವರಿಗಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ನೀತಿವಂತನಾಗಿರಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವೇ? ಮಾನವನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಕರ್ತ ದೇವರಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಶುದ್ಧನಾಗಿರಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವೇ?
Shall mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than his maker?
18 ತಮ್ಮ ಸೇವಕರಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರು ನಂಬದೆ, ತಮ್ಮ ದೂತರಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ತಪ್ಪು ಕಂಡಿರಲು,
Behold, he put no trust in his servants; and his angels he charged with folly:
19 ಧೂಳಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅಸ್ತಿವಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಣ್ಣಿನ ಮನೆಗಳ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳು, ನುಸಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಜಜ್ಜಿಹೋದವರು, ಇನ್ನೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ದಂಡನೆಗೆ ಒಳಪಡುವರಲ್ಲವೇ?
How much less [in] them that dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation [is] in the dust, [which] are crushed before the moth?
20 ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆಯಿಂದ ಸಂಜೆಯವರೆಗೆ ಜೀವಿಸಿದ ಅವರು ನಾಶವಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಯಾರ ಗಮನಕ್ಕೂ ಬಾರದೇ ನಿತ್ಯ ನಾಶವಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ.
They are destroyed from morning to evening: they perish for ever without any regarding [it].
21 ಅವರ ಗುಡಾರದ ಹಗ್ಗವು ಬಿಚ್ಚಿಹೋಗುವುದು, ಅವರು ಜ್ಞಾನವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಸಾಯುವರು.’
Doth not their excellency [which is] in them go away? they die, even without wisdom.
