ಯೋಬನು 22
1 ಆಮೇಲೆ ತೇಮಾನ್ಯನಾದ ಎಲೀಫಜನು ಹೀಗೆಂದನು:
Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said:
2 “ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಂದ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನವೇನು? ಒಬ್ಬನು ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನವಾಗಿರುವನೇ?
Can a man, then, profit God? Behold, the wise man profiteth himself.
3 ನೀನು ನೀತಿವಂತನಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ, ಸರ್ವಶಕ್ತರಿಗೆ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಕೆಯೋ? ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳು ನಿರ್ದೋಷವಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ, ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಲಾಭವೇನು?
Is it a pleasure to the Almighty, that thou art righteous; Or a gain to him, that thou walkest uprightly?
4 “ನಿನ್ನ ಭಕ್ತಿಗಾಗಿ ದೇವರು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೋ? ನಿನ್ನ ಭಕ್ತಿಗಾಗಿ ದೇವರು ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರ್ಪಿಗೆ ಗುರಿಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆಯೇ?
Will he contend with thee because he feareth thee? Will he enter with thee into judgment?
5 ನಿನ್ನ ದುಷ್ಟತನವು ಬಹಳವಲ್ಲವೋ? ನಿನ್ನ ಪಾಪಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಂತ್ಯವೇ ಇಲ್ಲಾ.
Hath not thy wickedness been great? Have not thine iniquities been numberless?
6 ನೀನು ಕಾರಣವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರರಿಂದ ಈಡು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೀ; ಅವರ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಸಹ ನೀನು ಕಿತ್ತುಕೊಂಡಿರುವೆ.
For thou hast taken a pledge from thy brother unjustly, And stripped the poor of their clothing.
7 ನೀನು ದಣಿದವರಿಗೆ ನೀರು ಕೊಡಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಹಸಿದವರಿಗೆ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ಬಡಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ.
Thou hast given the weary no water to drink, And withholden bread from the hungry.
8 ನೀನು ಬಲಿಷ್ಠನಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ, ಜಮೀನು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ, ಗೌರವಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋಗ್ಯನಾದ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಾಗಿ ಊರಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸಿದರೂ,
But the man of power, his was the land, And the honorable man dwelt in it.
9 ವಿಧವೆಯರನ್ನು ಬರಿದಾಗಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟೆ; ದಿಕ್ಕಿಲ್ಲದವರ ತೋಳುಗಳನ್ನು ಮುರಿದುಬಿಟ್ಟೆ.
Thou hast sent widows away empty, And broken the arms of the fatherless.
10 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಉರುಲುಗಳು ಕಾದಿವೆ; ಹಠಾತ್ತಾಗಿ ಬರುವ ವಿಪತ್ತು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ತಲ್ಲಣಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
Therefore snares are round about thee, And sudden fear confoundeth thee;
11 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನೀನು ಕಾಣದಷ್ಟು ಕತ್ತಲು ನಿನಗಿರುವುದು; ಜಲಪ್ರವಾಹವೂ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಮುಳುಗಿಸುವುದು.
Or darkness, through which thou canst not see, And floods of water cover thee.
12 “ದೇವರು ಸ್ವರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದಾರಲ್ಲವೇ? ನಕ್ಷತ್ರಮಂಡಲವನ್ನು ನೋಡು, ಅವು ಎಷ್ಟು ಉನ್ನತ!
Is not God in the height of heaven? And behold the stars, how high they are!
13 ನೀನಾದರೋ, ‘ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಏನು ಗೊತ್ತು? ಕಾರ್ಗತ್ತಲಿರುವಾಗ ದೇವರು ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವೇ?
Hence thou sayest, “What doth God know? Can he govern behind the thick darkness?
14 ದಟ್ಟವಾದ ಮೋಡಗಳು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಪರದೆಯ ಹಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ದೇವರು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನೋಡಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ. ದೇವರು ಆಕಾಶಮಂಡಲದ ಮೇಲ್ಗಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ,’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವೆ ಅಲ್ಲವೇ?
Dark clouds are a veil to him, and he cannot see; And he walketh upon the arch of heaven.”
15 ದುಷ್ಟರು ಮೊದಲಿನಿಂದಲೂ ನಡೆದ ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೀನು ನಡೆಯುವಿಯಾ?
Wilt thou take the old way Which wicked men have trodden,
16 ಅಕಾಲ ಮರಣವು ಅವರನ್ನು ಅಪಹರಿಸಿತು; ಅವರ ಅಡಿಪಾಯವು ಪ್ರವಾಹದಿಂದ ಕೊಚ್ಚಿಹೋಯಿತು.
Who were cut down before their time, And whose foundations were swept away by a flood?
17 ಅವರು ದೇವರಿಗೆ, ‘ನಮ್ಮಿಂದ ತೊಲಗಿಹೋಗು! ಸರ್ವಶಕ್ತ ನಮಗೇನು ಮಾಡಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯ?’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
Who said unto God, “Depart from us!” And, “What can the Almighty do to us?”
18 ಆದರೂ ದೇವರು ಅವರ ಮನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಪತ್ತಿನಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಅಬ್ಬಾ, ದುಷ್ಟರ ಆಲೋಚನೆಯು ನನಗೆ ದೂರವಾಗಿರಲಿ!
And yet he filled their houses with good things!—Far from me be the counsel of the wicked!
19 ನೀತಿವಂತರು ದುಷ್ಟರ ದುರ್ಗತಿಯನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಹಿಗ್ಗುವರು. ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿಗಳು ಹೀಗೆಂದು ದುಷ್ಟರನ್ನು ಅಣಕಿಸುವರು:
The righteous see their fate, and rejoice; And the innocent hold them in derision.
20 ‘ನಮಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಎದ್ದವರು ಹಾಳಾಗಿ ಹೋದರು. ಅವರ ಸೊತ್ತನ್ನು ಬೆಂಕಿಯು ನಾಶಮಾಡಿತು!’
“Truly our adversary is destroyed, And fire hath consumed his abundance!”
21 “ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಅಧೀನವಾಗಿ, ದೇವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಮಾಧಾನದಿಂದಿರು; ಇದರಿಂದ ನಿನಗೆ ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿ ಬರುವುದು.
Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: Thus shall prosperity return to thee.
22 ದೇವರ ಬಾಯಿಂದಲೇ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸು; ದೇವರ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೋ.
Receive, I pray thee, instruction from his mouth, And lay up his words in thy heart.
23 ನಿನ್ನ ಗುಡಾರಗಳಿಂದ ದುಷ್ಟತ್ವವನ್ನು ದೂರಮಾಡಿ, ಸರ್ವಶಕ್ತರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ನೀನು ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡರೆ, ನೀನು ಪುನಃಸ್ಥಾಪಿತವಾಗುವೆ.
If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up; If thou put away iniquity from thy tent.
24 ನೀನು ಬಂಗಾರವನ್ನು ಧೂಳಿನಂತೆಯೂ, ಓಫೀರ್ ದೇಶದ ಬಂಗಾರವನ್ನು ನದಿಯ ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳಂತೆಯೂ ಎಣಿಸು.
Cast to the dust thy gold, And the gold of Ophir to the stones of the brook:
25 ಆಗ ಸರ್ವಶಕ್ತರು ನಿನಗೆ ಬಂಗಾರವಾಗಿರುವರು. ದೇವರು ನಿನಗೆ ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿಯಾದ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯೂ ಆಗಿರುವರು.
Then shall the Almighty be thy gold, Yea, treasures of silver unto thee;
26 ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಸರ್ವಶಕ್ತರಲ್ಲಿ ನೀನು ಆನಂದಗೊಳ್ಳುವೆ. ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಖವನ್ನು ದೇವರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಎತ್ತುವೆ.
For then shalt thou have delight in the Almighty, And shalt lift up thy face unto God.
27 ನೀನು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಮಾಡುವೆ, ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯನ್ನು ದೇವರು ಕೇಳುವರು; ನೀನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಹರಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುವೆ.
Thou shalt pray to him, and he shall hear thee, And thou shalt perform thy vows.
28 ನೀನು ಏನಾದರೂ ನಿರ್ಣಯಿಸಿದ್ದರೆ, ಅದು ನಿನಗೆ ನೆರವೇರುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ಬೆಳಕು ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕಾಶಿಸುವುದು.
The purpose which thou formest shall prosper with thee, And light shall shine upon thy ways.
29 ಜನರು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೆಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬೀಳಿಸುವಾಗ, ‘ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ಎತ್ತು!’ ಎಂದು ನೀನು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಮೊರೆಯಿಡಲು, ದೇವರು ಬಿದ್ದವರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವರು.
When men are cast down, thou shalt say, “There lifting up!” And the humble person he will save.
30 ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿಯಾಗಿ ಇಲ್ಲದವರನ್ನು ಸಹ ದೇವರು ವಿಮೋಚಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ; ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಗಳ ಶುದ್ಧತ್ವದಿಂದ ಅಂಥವರು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯಾಗುವರು.”
He will deliver even him that is not innocent. The purity of thy hands shall save him.
