ಯೋಬನು 20
1 ನಾಮಾಥ್ಯನಾದ ಚೋಫರನು ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ:
And Zophar the Naamathite answers and says:
2 “ನಾನು ತುಂಬಾ ಕಳವಳಗೊಂಡದ್ದರಿಂದ, ನನ್ನ ಆಲೋಚನೆಗಳು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಉತ್ತರಿಸಲು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿದವು.
“Therefore my thoughts cause me to answer, And because of my sensations in me.
3 ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಅವಮಾನಿಸುವ ಖಂಡನೆಯನ್ನು ನಾನು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಉತ್ತರಿಸಲು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
I hear the discipline of my shame, And the spirit of my understanding causes me to answer:
4 “ದೇವರು ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇರಿಸಿದ ಕಾಲದಿಂದ ವಿಷಯ ಹೇಗಿದೆ ಎಂಬುದು ನಿನಗೆ ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಗೊತ್ತಿದೆ.
Have you known this from antiquity? Since the placing of man on earth?
5 ದುಷ್ಟರ ಜಯವು ಅಲ್ಪ ಕಾಲ, ಭಕ್ತಿಹೀನರ ಸಂತೋಷವು ಕ್ಷಣ ಮಾತ್ರ.
That the singing of the wicked [is] short, And the joy of the profane for a moment,
6 ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯು ಆಕಾಶಕ್ಕೆ ಏರಿದರೂ, ಅವನ ತಲೆ ಮೇಘಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಟ್ಟಿದರೂ,
Though his excellence goes up to the heavens, He strikes his head against a cloud—
7 ಗೊಬ್ಬರದ ಹಾಗೆ ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾಗಿ ಅವನು ನಾಶವಾಗುವನು; ಅವನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದವರು, ‘ಅವನೆಲ್ಲಿ?’ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳುವರು.
He perishes as his own dung forever, His beholders say, Where [is] he?
8 ಭಕ್ತಿಹೀನನು ಕನಸಿನ ಹಾಗೆ ಹಾರಿಹೋಗುವನು, ಇನ್ನೆಂದಿಗೂ ಸಿಗಲಾರನು; ಅವನು ಕತ್ತಲೆಯ ಹಾಗೆ ಕಾಣದೆ ಹೋಗುವನು.
He flees as a dream, and they do not find him, And he is driven away as a vision of the night,
9 ಅವನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದವರು ಇನ್ನು ಮುಂದೆ ನೋಡರು; ಅವನ ಸ್ಥಳವು ಇನ್ನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಾಣದು.
The eye has not seen him, and does not add. And his place does not behold him again.
10 ಅವನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಬಡವರ ದಯೆಯನ್ನು ಬೇಡುವರು; ಅವನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಕೈಗಳು ಅವನ ಸಂಪತ್ತನ್ನು ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿಸಬೇಕಾಗುವುದು.
His sons oppress the poor, And his hands give back his wealth.
11 ಅವನ ಎಲುಬುಗಳು ಯೌವನದ ಶಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿತ್ತು, ಅದು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಧೂಳಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಲಗುವುದು.
His bones have been full of his youth, and it lies down with him on the dust.
12 “ಅವನ ಕೆಟ್ಟತನವು ಬಾಯಿಗೆ ಸಿಹಿಯಾಗಿತ್ತು, ಅವನು ನಾಲಿಗೆಯ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಬಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು.
Though he sweetens evil in his mouth, hides it under his tongue,
13 ಅದನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಡಲು ಇಷ್ಟಪಡದೆ, ತನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿಯೊಳಗೆ ದೀರ್ಘಸಮಯ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡರೂ,
has pity on it, and does not forsake it, and keeps it back in the midst of his palate,
14 ಅವನ ಆಹಾರವು ಅವನ ಕರುಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಳಿಯಾಗಿ, ಅದು ಅವನೊಳಗಿನ ಸರ್ಪಗಳ ವಿಷವಾಗುವುದು.
his food is turned in his bowels, the bitterness of cobras [is] in his heart.
15 ಅವನು ನುಂಗಿದ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕಾರಿಬಿಡುವನು; ಅವನ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ದೇವರು ಅದನ್ನು ಹೊರಡಿಸಿ ಬಿಡುವನು.
He has swallowed wealth, and vomits it. God drives it out from his belly.
16 ಅವನು ಸರ್ಪಗಳ ವಿಷವನ್ನು ಹೀರುವನು; ಹಾವಿನ ನಾಲಿಗೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುವುದು.
He sucks [the] gall of cobras, the tongue of a viper slays him.
17 ಅವನು ಜೇನು, ಮೊಸರೂ ಹರಿಯುವ ಹಳ್ಳಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗಿ ಹರಿಯುವ ನದಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ನೋಡನು.
He does not look on streams, Flowing of brooks of honey and butter.
18 ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಯಾಸದ ಫಲವನ್ನು ಸವಿಯದೆ ಪರರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಬೇಕಾಗುವುದು; ಅವನು ತಾನು ಪಡೆದ ಲಾಭದ ಆನಂದವನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
He is giving back [what] he labored for, and does not consume [it]; As a bulwark [is] his exchange, and he does not exult.
19 ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವನು ಬಡವರನ್ನು ಜಜ್ಜಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಗತಿಕರನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದನು; ತಾನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸದ ಮನೆಗಳನ್ನು ವಶಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
For he oppressed—he forsook the poor, He has taken a house away violently, And he does not build it.
20 “ಖಂಡಿತವಾಗಿ ಅವನ ಆಕಾಂಕ್ಷೆಗೆ ತೃಪ್ತಿ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಇಷ್ಟ ಸಂಪತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಏನೂ ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
For he has not known ease in his belly. With his desirable thing he does not deliver himself.
21 ಅವನಿಗೆ ಆಹಾರವು ಉಳಿಯದು; ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನ ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿಯು ಅಸ್ಥಿರವಾಗಿರುವುದು.
There is not a remnant to his food, Therefore his good does not stay.
22 ಅವನ ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿಯಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿರುವಾಗಲೇ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಾಗುವುದು; ಘೋರ ದುಃಖವು ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರುವುದು.
In the fullness of his sufficiency he is constricted. Every perverse hand meets him.
23 ಅವನ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆ ತುಂಬುವಾಗ, ದೇವದಂಡನೆ ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರುವುದು; ಹೌದು, ದೇವದಂಡನೆಯು ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಸುರಿಯುವುದು.
It comes to pass, at the filling of his belly, He sends forth against him The fierceness of His anger, Indeed, He rains on him in his eating.
24 ಅವನು ಕಬ್ಬಿಣದ ಆಯುಧಕ್ಕೆ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಓಡಿಹೋದರೆ, ಕಂಚಿನ ಬಾಣ ಅವನನ್ನು ತಿವಿಯುವುದು.
He flees from an iron weapon, A bow of bronze passes through him.
25 ಅವನು ಆ ಬಾಣವನ್ನು ಎಳೆದರೆ, ಅದು ಬೆನ್ನಿನಿಂದ ಹೊರಡುವುದು; ಅವನ ಪಿತ್ತಕೋಶದಿಂದ ಅದರ ಮಿಂಚುವ ಮೊನೆ ಬರುವುದು; ಸಾವಿನ ಭಯವು ಅವನನ್ನೂ ಆವರಿಸುವುದು.
One has drawn, And it comes out from the body, And a glittering weapon proceeds from his gall. Terrors [are] on him.
26 ಅವನ ನಿಕ್ಷೇಪಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂಧಕಾರವು ಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಕವಿಯುವುದು; ಯಾರೂ ಹೊತ್ತಿಸದ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ದಹಿಸುವುದು; ಅವನ ಗುಡಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿದದ್ದೆಲ್ಲ ನಾಶವಾಗುವುದು.
All darkness is hid for his treasures, A fire not blown consumes him, The remnant is broken in his tent.
27 ಆಕಾಶವು ಅವನ ಅಪರಾಧವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸುವುದು; ಭೂಮಿಯು ಅವನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಏಳುವುದು.
The heavens reveal his iniquity, And earth is raising itself against him.
28 ಅವನ ಮನೆಯ ಧನಧಾನ್ಯವು ತೊಲಗಿ ಹೋಗುವುದು; ದೇವದಂಡನೆಯ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅದು ಪ್ರವಾಹದಿಂದ ಕೊಚ್ಚಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವುದು.
The increase of his house is removed, Poured forth in a day of His anger.
29 ದುಷ್ಟನಿಗೆ ದೇವರಿಂದ ಬರುವ ಪಾಲೂ, ಅವನಿಗೆ ನೇಮವಾಗಿರುವ ಬಾಧ್ಯತೆಯೂ ಇವೇ.”
This [is] the portion of a wicked man from God. And an inheritance appointed him by God.”
