ಯೋಬನು 14

1 “ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯಿಂದ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಅಲ್ಪಾಯುಷ್ಯನೂ, ಕಷ್ಟಸಂಕಟಗಳಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿದವನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.

Man born of a woman, living for a short time, is filled with many miseries.

2 ಅವನು ಹೂವಿನ ಹಾಗೆ ಅರಳಿ ಬಾಡುವನು; ಅವನು ನೆರಳಿನಂತೆ ಓಡಿಹೋಗುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾಗಿರುವದಿಲ್ಲ.

Who cometh forth like a flower, and is destroyed, and fleeth as a shadow, and never continueth in the same state.

3 ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ಇಂಥವನ ಮೇಲೆ ದೇವರೇ, ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣಿಟ್ಟೀದೀರಲ್ಲಾ? ನಿಮ್ಮ ನ್ಯಾಯಸ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡುತ್ತೀರೋ?

And dost thou think it meet to open thy eyes upon such an one, and to bring him into judgment with thee?

4 ಅಶುದ್ಧತೆಯಿಂದ ಶುದ್ಧವಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ತರುವವನು ಯಾರು? ಯಾರೂ ತರಲಾರರು!

Who can make him clean that is conceived of unclean seed? is it not thou who only art?

5 ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ದಿನಗಳು ಇಷ್ಟೇ ಎಂದು ತೀರ್ಮಾನವಾಗಿದೆ; ಅವನ ತಿಂಗಳುಗಳ ಲೆಕ್ಕ ದೇವರೇ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದೆ; ಅವನು ದಾಟಲಾರದ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮೇರೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸಿದ್ದೀರಿ.

The days of man are short, and the number of his months is with thee: thou hast appointed his bounds which cannot be passed.

6 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತಿ ಪಡೆಯಲೆಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ಅವನ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ತಿರುಗಿಸಿಬಿಡಿರಿ; ಅವನು ಕೂಲಿಯವನಿಗಿರುವಷ್ಟು ಸಂತೋಷದಿಂದಾದರೂ ತನ್ನ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಕಳೆಯಲಿ.

Depart a little from him, that he may rest, until his wished for day come, as that of the hireling.

7 “ಮರಕ್ಕೆ ಸಹ ಒಂದು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆ ಇದೆ: ಅದೇನೆಂದರೆ, ಮರವನ್ನು ಕಡಿದು ಹಾಕಿದರೂ ತಾನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಚಿಗುರುವೆನೆಂಬ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆ ಅದಕ್ಕಿದೆ; ಚಿಗುರುವುದನ್ನು ಆ ಮರವು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸುವುದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ.

A tree hath hope: if it be cut, it groweth green again, and the boughs thereof sprout.

8 ಅದರ ಬೇರು ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಳೆಯದಾದರೂ, ನೆಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಅದರ ಬುಡ ಸತ್ತಿದ್ದರೂ,

If its root be old in the earth, and its stock be dead in the dust:

9 ನೀರಿನ ವಾಸನೆಯಿಂದ ಅದು ಮೊಳೆತು, ಗಿಡದ ಹಾಗೆ ಅದು ಕೊಂಬೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಡುವುದು.

At the scent of water, it shall spring, and bring forth leaves, as when it was first planted.

10 ಆದರೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಸತ್ತು ಬಿದ್ದಿರುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಅವನು ಕೊನೆಯುಸಿರೆಳೆದಾಗ ಅವನ ಅಂತ್ಯವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

But man when he shall be dead, and stripped and consumed, I pray you where is he?

11 ಸರೋವರದ ನೀರು ಒಣಗಿ ಹೋಗುವಂತೆಯೂ, ಬರಗಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನದಿಗಳು ಬತ್ತಿಹೋಗುವಂತೆಯೂ,

As if the waters should depart out of the sea, and an emptied river should be dried up:

12 ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಸತ್ತು ಮಲಗಿದರೆ ಏಳುವುದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ; ಆಕಾಶಗಳು ಅಳಿದು ಹೋಗುವವರೆಗೆ ಅವನು ಎಚ್ಚರಗೊಳ್ಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ನಿದ್ರೆಯಿಂದ ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಲಾಗುವುದೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.

So man when he is fallen asleep shall not rise again; till the heavens be broken, he shall not awake, nor rise up out of his sleep.

13 “ದೇವರೇ, ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಸಮಾಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮರೆಮಾಡಿ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆ ಮುಗಿಯುವವರೆಗೂ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಅಡಗಿಸಿರಿ! ನೀವು ನನಗೆ ಒಂದು ಕಾಲವನ್ನು ನಿಗದಿಪಡಿಸಿ, ಅನಂತರ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಜ್ಞಾಪಕಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ಲೇಸು! (Sheol h7585)

Who will grant me this, that thou mayst protect me in hell, and hide me till thy wrath pass, and appoint me a. time when thou wilt remember me? (Sheol h7585)

14 ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಸತ್ತರೆ ಅವನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಬದುಕುವನೋ? ಆದರೂ ನನಗೆ ನೇಮಕ ಮಾಡಿದ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮದ ದಿನವೆಲ್ಲಾ, ನನಗೆ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯಾಗುವವರೆಗೆ ನಾನು ಕಾದುಕೊಂಡಿರುವೆನು.

Shall man that is dead, thinkest thou, live again? all the days in which I am now in warfare, I expect until my change come.

15 ದೇವರೇ, ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕರೆಯುವಿರಿ, ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಉತ್ತರಕೊಡುವೆನು; ನಿಮ್ಮ ಈ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ನೀವು ಹಂಬಲಿಸುವಿರಿ.

Thou shalt call me, and I will answer thee: to the work of thy hands thou shalt reach out thy right hand.

16 ಆಗ ನೀವು ನನ್ನ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಗಳನ್ನು ಲೆಕ್ಕಿಸುವಿರಿ; ಆದರೆ ನೀವು ನನ್ನ ಪಾಪದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ದಾಖಲೆ ಇಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.

Thou indeed hast numbered my steps, but spare my sins.

17 ನನ್ನ ಅಪರಾಧಗಳನ್ನು ಮೂಟೆಕಟ್ಟಿ ಮುದ್ರೆ ಹಾಕಿಬಿಡುವಿರಿ; ನೀವು ನನ್ನ ಅನ್ಯಾಯವನ್ನು ಮರೆಮಾಡುವಿರಿ.

Thou hast sealed up my offences as it were in a bag, but hast cured my iniquity.

18 “ಆದರೂ ಬೆಟ್ಟವು ಬಿದ್ದು ಹಾಳಾಗುವಂತೆಯೂ, ಬಂಡೆಯು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ಥಳದಿಂದ ತೊಲಗುವಂತೆಯೂ,

A mountain falling cometh to nought, and a rock is removed out of its place.

19 ನೀರು ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಸವೆಯಿಸುವಂತೆಯೂ, ಪ್ರವಾಹಗಳು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮಣ್ಣನ್ನು ಕೊಚ್ಚಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವಂತೆಯೂ, ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು ನೀವು ನಾಶಮಾಡುತ್ತೀರಿ.

Waters wear away the stones, and with inundation the ground by little and little is washed away: so in like manner thou shalt destroy man.

20 ನೀವು ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾಗಿ ಮೇಲುಗೈ ಸಾಧಿಸಿರುವದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಹೊರಟು ಹೋಗುವನು; ನೀವು ಅವನ ಮುಖಭಾವವನ್ನು ಮಾರ್ಪಡಿಸಿ, ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಬಿಡುತ್ತೀರಿ.

Thou hast strengthened him for a little while, that he may pass away for ever: thou shalt change his face, and shalt send him away.

21 ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಘನತೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದರೆ, ಅದು ಸತ್ತವರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಅವರ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೆ ಬಂದರೆ ಸಹ, ಅದನ್ನು ಸತ್ತವರು ಗ್ರಹಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.

Whether his children come to honour or dishonour, he shall not understand.

22 ಆದರೆ ಸತ್ತವರು ತಮ್ಮ ದೇಹದ ನೋವನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸುವರು, ಅವರ ಆತ್ಮವು ಅವರಿಗಾಗಿ ಮಾತ್ರ ಪ್ರಲಾಪಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವುದು.”

But yet his flesh, while he shall live, shall have pain, and his soul shall mourn over him.
