ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನು 9
1 ಓ, ನನ್ನ ತಲೆ ಚಿಲುಮೆಯೂ, ನನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು ಕಣ್ಣೀರಿನ ಬುಗ್ಗೆಯಾಗಿಯೂ ಇದ್ದರೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದು, ಆಗ ನನ್ನ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಹತರಾದವರ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಹಗಲುರಾತ್ರಿ ಅಳುವೆನು.
Oh that my head were waters, and mine eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!
2 ಆಹಾ, ಮರುಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಸ್ಥರ ಛತ್ರವು ಇದ್ದರೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದು, ಆಗ ನನ್ನ ಜನರನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೊರಟು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆನು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರು ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರಿಗಳೇ, ವಂಚಕರ ಕೂಟವೇ.
Oh that I were in the wilderness, in a lodging-place of wayfaring men, that I might leave my people, and go from them! For they are all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men.
3 “ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ನಾಲಿಗೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಲ್ಲಿನಂತೆ ಸುಳ್ಳುಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಬಗ್ಗಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸತ್ಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬಲಿಷ್ಠರಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವರು ಒಂದು ಪಾಪದಿಂದ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಪಾಪಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಅರಿಯದೆ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ,” ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
And they bend their tongue, their bow of falsehood; and they are grown mighty in the land, but not for truth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and Me they know not, saith the LORD.
4 “ನಿಮ್ಮ ನಿಮ್ಮ ನೆರೆಯವರಿಗೆ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆಯಾಗಿರಿ. ಯಾವ ಸಹೋದರನಲ್ಲಾದರೂ ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಇಡಬೇಡಿರಿ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಸಹೋದರರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಮೋಸ ಮಾಡುವರು; ನೆರೆಯವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಚಾಡಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾ ತಿರುಗಾಡುವರು.
Take ye heed every one of his neighbour, and trust ye not in any brother; for every brother acteth subtly, and every neighbour goeth about with slanders.
5 ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ನೆರೆಯವರಿಗೆ ವಂಚನೆಮಾಡಿ ಸತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾತನಾಡರು. ಸುಳ್ಳುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ನಾಲಿಗೆಗೆ ಬೋಧಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಪಾಪದಿಂದ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸುಸ್ತಾಗಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
And they deceive every one his neighbour, and truth they speak not; they have taught their tongue to speak lies, they weary themselves to commit iniquity.
6 ನಿನ್ನ ನಿವಾಸವು ಮೋಸದ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದೆ. ಮೋಸದಿಂದಲೇ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನಿರಾಕರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ,” ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
Thy habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know Me, saith the LORD.
7 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೇಳುವುದೇನೆಂದರೆ: “ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕರಗಿಸಿ ಪರಿಶೋಧಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಜನರ ಪಾಪಗಳಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ನಾನು ಇನ್ನೇನು ಮಾಡಲಿ?
Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts: Behold, I will smelt them, and try them; for how else should I do, because of the daughter of My people?
8 ಅವರ ನಾಲಿಗೆ ಎಸೆದ ಬಾಣದಂತಿದೆ. ಅದು ಮೋಸವನ್ನಾಡುತ್ತದೆ. ತನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ತನ್ನ ನೆರೆಯವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಸಮಾಧಾನವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೊಂಚುಹಾಕುತ್ತಾರೆ.
Their tongue is a sharpened arrow, it speaketh deceit; one speaketh peaceably to his neighbour with his mouth, but in his heart he layeth wait for him.
9 ಇವುಗಳ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ನಾನು ಅವರನ್ನು ದಂಡಿಸಬಾರದೋ?” ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. “ಇಂಥಾ ಜನಾಂಗಕ್ಕೆ ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವು ಮುಯ್ಯಿಗೆ ಮುಯ್ಯಿ ತೀರಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ?”
Shall I not punish them for these things? saith the LORD; Shall not My soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
10 ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ನಾನು ಅಳುವಿಕೆಯನ್ನೂ, ದುಃಖವನ್ನೂ, ಮರುಭೂಮಿಯ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಗೋಳಾಟವನ್ನೂ ಎತ್ತುವೆನು. ಅವುಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಹಾದುಹೋಗದಂತೆ ಅವು ಸುಟ್ಟುಹೋಗಿದೆ. ದನಗಳ ಕೂಗು ಕಿವಿಗೆ ಬೀಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಆಕಾಶದ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳೂ, ಮೃಗಗಳೂ ಸಹ ಓಡಿ ಹೋಗಿವೆ.
For the mountains will I take up a weeping and wailing, and for the pastures of the wilderness a lamentation, because they are burned up, so that none passeth through. And they hear not the voice of the cattle; both the fowl of the heavens and the beast are fled, and gone.
11 ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮನ್ನು ದಿಬ್ಬಗಳಾಗಿಯೂ, ನರಿಗಳ ಸ್ಥಾನವಾಗಿಯೂ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಯೆಹೂದದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನು ನಿವಾಸವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಹಾಳು ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ.
And I will make Jerusalem heaps, a lair of jackals; and I will make the cities of Judah a desolation, without an inhabitant.
12 ಇದನ್ನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸುವ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯಾದ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಯಾರು? ಇದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಬಾಯಿ ಯಾರ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿತು? ದೇಶವು ಯಾವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಾಶವಾಗಿ ಹಾದು ಹೋಗುವವನಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಮರುಭೂಮಿಯ ಹಾಗೆ ಹಾಳಾಯಿತು?
Who is the wise man, that he may understand this? And who is he to whom the mouth of the LORD hath spoken, that he may declare it? Wherefore is the land perished and laid waste like a wilderness, so that none passeth through?
13 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೇಳುವುದೇನೆಂದರೆ, “ನಾನು ಅವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಇಟ್ಟ ನನ್ನ ನಿಯಮವನ್ನು ಅವರು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ನನ್ನ ಶಬ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡದೆ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯದೆ,
And the LORD saith: Because they have forsaken My law which I set before them, and have not hearkened to My voice, neither walked therein;
14 ತಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯದ ಕಾಠಿಣ್ಯದ ಪ್ರಕಾರವಾಗಿಯೂ, ತಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬೋಧಿಸಿದ ಬಾಳ್ ದೇವತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿದರು.”
But have walked after the stubbornness of their own heart, and after the Baalim, which their fathers taught them.
15 ಈ ಕಾರಣದಿಂದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ: “ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೌದು, ಈ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಮಾಚಿಪತ್ರೆಯನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. ವಿಷದ ನೀರನ್ನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕುಡಿಯಲು ಕೊಡುತ್ತೇನೆ.
Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink.
16 ಅವರಿಗೂ, ಅವರ ತಂದೆಗಳಿಗೂ ತಿಳಿಯದ ಇತರ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಚದರಿಸುವೆನು. ಅವರನ್ನು ತೀರಿಸುವವರೆಗೆ ಖಡ್ಗವನ್ನು ಅವರ ಹಿಂದೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸುವೆನು.”
I will scatter them also among the nations, whom neither they nor their fathers have known; and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them.
17 ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೇಳುವುದೇನೆಂದರೆ, “ಆಲೋಚನೆ ಮಾಡಿರಿ; ದುಃಖಿಸುವ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರನ್ನು ಕರೆಯಿರಿ, ಅವರು ಬರಲಿ; ಜಾಣೆಯರನ್ನು ಕರೆಕಳುಹಿಸಿರಿ, ಅವರು ಬರಲಿ.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts: Consider ye, and call for the mourning women, that they may come; and send for the wise women, that they may come;
18 ಅವರು ತ್ವರೆಪಟ್ಟು ನಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಗೋಳಾಟವನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಲಿ; ನಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು ಕಣ್ಣೀರು ಸುರಿಸಲಿ; ನಮ್ಮ ರೆಪ್ಪೆಗಳು ನೀರು ಎರೆಯಲಿ.
And let them make haste, and take up a wailing for us, that our eyes may run down with tears, and our eyelids gush out with waters.
19 ‘ನಾವು ಹೇಗೆ ಹಾಳಾದೆವು, ನಾವು ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟದ್ದರಿಂದಲೂ, ನಮ್ಮ ನಿವಾಸಗಳು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಹೊರಗೆ ಹಾಕಿದ್ದರಿಂದಲೂ ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ನಾಚಿಕೆ ಪಡುತ್ತೇವೆ, ಎಂಬ ಗೋಳಾಟದ ಶಬ್ದವು ಚೀಯೋನಿನಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿಬಂತು.’”
For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion: 'How are we undone! We are greatly confounded, because we have forsaken the land, because our dwellings have cast us out.'
20 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಓ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರೇ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿರಿ. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಿವಿಯು ಆತನ ಬಾಯಿಯ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಅಂಗೀಕರಿಸಲಿ. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪುತ್ರಿಯರಿಗೆ ಗೋಳಾಟವನ್ನೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ನಿಮ್ಮ ನೆರೆಯವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಲಾಪವನ್ನೂ ಕಲಿಸಿರಿ.
Yea, hear the word of the LORD, O ye women, and let your ear receive the word of His mouth, and teach your daughters wailing, and every one her neighbour lamentation:
21 ಏಕೆಂದರೆ, ಮರಣವು ನಮ್ಮ ಕಿಟಕಿಗಳೊಳಗೆ ಏರಿ ಬಂತು. ನಮ್ಮ ಕೋಟೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿತು. ಹೊರಗಡೆ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ, ಬೀದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯೌವನಸ್ಥರನ್ನೂ ಕಡಿದು ಹಾಕುತ್ತದೆ.
'For death is come up into our windows, it is entered into our palaces, to cut off the children from the street, and the young men from the broad places. —
22 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನನಗೆ ಹೀಗೆಂದರು: “‘ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಹೆಣಗಳು ಗೊಬ್ಬರದಂತೆ ಬಯಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬೀಳುವುವು. ಧಾನ್ಯ ಕೊಯ್ಯುವವನು ಉಳಿಸಿದ ಕೈಹಿಡಿಯಂತೆ ಕೂಡಿಸುವವನಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಬೀಳುವುವು.’”
Speak: Thus saith the LORD — And the carcasses of men fall as dung upon the open field, and as the handful after the harvestman, which none gathereth.'
23 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ: “ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯು ತನ್ನ ಜ್ಞಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಳ ಪಡದಿರಲಿ. ಬಲಿಷ್ಠನು ತನ್ನ ಬಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಳ ಪಡದಿರಲಿ. ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನು ತನ್ನ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಳ ಪಡದಿರಲಿ.
Thus saith the LORD: Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches;
24 ಆದರೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಳ ಪಡುವವನು, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಾದ ನಾನು ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದಯೆಯನ್ನೂ, ನ್ಯಾಯವನ್ನೂ, ನೀತಿಯನ್ನೂ ನಡೆಸುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದು ಗ್ರಹಿಸಿ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದರಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಹೆಚ್ಚಳ ಪಡಲಿ. ಇವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಸಂತೋಷಪಡುತ್ತೇನೆ,” ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth, and knoweth Me, that I am the LORD who exercise mercy, justice, and righteousness, in the earth; for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.
25 “ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಇಲ್ಲದವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಉಳ್ಳವರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ, ಈಜಿಪ್ಟನ್ನೂ, ಯೆಹೂದವನ್ನೂ, ಎದೋಮನ್ನೂ, ಅಮ್ಮೋನನ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ, ಮೋವಾಬನ್ನೂ, ಮರುಭೂಮಿಯ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳಾಗಿರುವ ಕಟ್ಟಕಡೆಯ ಮೂಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವವರನ್ನೂ ನಾನು ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ದಿವಸಗಳು ಬರುತ್ತವೆ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಈ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳವರು ಸುನ್ನತಿಯಿಲ್ಲದವರು. ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮನೆತನದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಇಲ್ಲದವರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ,” ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಅನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ.
Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will punish all them that are circumcised in their uncircumcision:
Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that have the corners of their hair polled, that dwell in the wilderness; for all the nations are uncircumcised, but all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart.
