ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನು 41
1 ಏಳನೆಯ ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅರಸನ ಸಂತಾನದವನೂ, ಅರಸನ ಪ್ರಧಾನರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನೂ ಆದಂಥ ಎಲೀಷಾಮನ ಮೊಮ್ಮಗನೂ, ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗನೂ ಆದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಹತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯೂ ಮಿಚ್ಪದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಅಹೀಕಾಮನ ಮಗ ಗೆದಲ್ಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು. ಅವರು ಮಿಚ್ಪದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಊಟಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ,
Now it came to pass in the seventh month, that Ishmael the son of Nethanyah the son of Elishama', of the royal seed, and the chiefs of the king, even ten men with him, came unto Gedalyahu the son of Achikam to Mizpah; and they ate there bread together in Mizpah.
2 ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ತನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಹತ್ತು ಜನರಸಹಿತವಾಗಿ ಎದ್ದು, ಬಾಬಿಲೋನಿನ ಅರಸನು ದೇಶದ ಮೇಲೆ ನೇಮಿಸಿದ್ದ ಶಾಫಾನನ ಮೊಮ್ಮಗ ಅಹೀಕಾಮನ ಮಗನಾದ ಗೆದಲ್ಯನನ್ನು ಖಡ್ಗದಿಂದ ಹೊಡೆದು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದನು.
Then arose Ishmael the son of Nethanyah, and the ten men that were with him, and smote Gedalyahu the son of Achikam the son of Shaphan with the sword, and put to death him, whom the king of Babylon had appointed governor over the land.
3 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಗೆದಲ್ಯನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಿಚ್ಪದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ, ಕಸ್ದೀಯರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ, ಸೈನಿಕರನ್ನೂ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದನು.
And all the Jews that were with him, even with Gedalyahu, at Mizpah, and the Chaldeans that were found there, even the men of war, did Ishmael slay.
4 ಅವನು ಗೆದಲ್ಯನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದ ಎರಡನೆಯ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ, ಅದು ಯಾರಿಗೂ ತಿಳಿಯದ ವೇಳೆಯಲ್ಲಿ
And it came to pass on the second day after he had put Gedalyahu to death, while no man knew of it,
5 ಶೆಕೆಮಿನಿಂದಲೂ ಶೀಲೋವಿನಿಂದಲೂ ಸಮಾರ್ಯದಿಂದಲೂ ಎಂಬತ್ತು ಜನರು ಗಡ್ಡವನ್ನೂ ಕ್ಷೌರ ಮಾಡಿದವರಾಗಿಯೂ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಹರಿದುಕೊಂಡವರಾಗಿಯೂ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕೊಯ್ದುಕೊಂಡವರಾಗಿಯೂ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ತರುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನೂ, ಧೂಪವನ್ನೂ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದರು.
That there came certain men from Shechem, from Shiloh, and from Samaria, eighty men [in all], having their beards shaven, and their clothes rent, and having cut themselves, with meat-offerings and frankincense in their hand, to bring the same to the house of the Lord.
6 ಆಗ ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ಮಿಚ್ಪದಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು, ಅಳುತ್ತಲೇ ಅವರ ಎದುರಿಗೆ ಹೋದನು. ಅವರನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಂಡ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಅಹೀಕಾಮನ ಮಗ ಗೆದಲ್ಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬನ್ನಿ,” ಎಂದನು.
And Ishmael the son of Nethanyah went forth from Mizpah to meet them, going along and weeping: and it came to pass as he met them, that he said unto them, Come to Gedalyahu the son of Achikam.
7 ಆಗ ಅವರು ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಮಧ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ, ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನೂ ತನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಮನುಷ್ಯರೂ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು, ಬಾವಿಯೊಳಗೆ ಹಾಕಿಬಿಟ್ಟರು.
And it happened, as they entered into the midst of the city, that Ishmael the son of Nethanyah slaughtered them, [and cast them] into the midst of the cistern, he, and the men that were with him.
8 ಆದರೆ ಆ ಎಂಬತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹತ್ತು ಜನರು ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನಿಗೆ, “ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು ಹಾಕಬೇಡ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಮಗೆ ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಗೋಧಿ, ಜವೆಗೋಧಿ, ಎಣ್ಣೆ, ಜೇನು ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಬಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇವೆ” ಎಂದು ಬಿನ್ನವಿಸಿದರು. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಹಿಂದೆಗೆದು ಅವರನ್ನು, ಅವರ ಸಹೋದರರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಲಿಲ್ಲ.
But ten men were found among them that said unto Ishmael, Slay us not; for we have some things hidden in the field, [such as] wheat, and barley, and oil, and honey. So he forbore, and slew them not in the midst of their brethren.
9 ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ಗೆದಲ್ಯನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದ ಮನುಷ್ಯರೆಲ್ಲರ ಹೆಣಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿದ ಬಾವಿಯು, ಅರಸನಾದ ಆಸನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಬಾಷನ ಭಯದಿಂದ ತೋಡಿಸಿದ್ದ ಬಾವಿಯೇ ಆಗಿತ್ತು. ಇದನ್ನು ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ಕೊಂದು ಹಾಕಿದವರಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿಸಿದನು.
And the cistern wherein Ishmael cast all the corpses of the men, whom he had slain in company with Gedalyahu, is the same which king Assa had made on account of Ba'sha the king of Israel: this did Ishmael the son of Nethanyah fill with slain persons.
10 ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ಮಿಚ್ಪದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಜನರ ಉಳಿದವರನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅರಸನ ಪುತ್ರಿಯರನ್ನೂ, ಕಾವಲಿನವರ ಅಧಿಪತಿಯಾದ ನೆಬೂಜರದಾನನು ಅಹೀಕಾಮನ ಮಗನಾದ ಗೆದಲ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟು, ಉಳಿದ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿ ಒಯ್ದನು. ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿ ಒಯ್ದು, ಅಮ್ಮೋನ್ಯರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ದಾಟಿಹೋಗುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟನು.
Then did Ishmael carry away captive all the residue of the people that were in Mizpah, the king's daughters, and all the people that were remaining in Mizpah, whom Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had entrusted to Gedalyahu the son of Achikam: and Ishmael the son of Nethanyah carried them away captive, and went off to pass over to the children of Ammon.
11 ಆದರೆ ಕಾರೇಹನ ಮಗ ಯೋಹಾನಾನನೂ, ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಸೈನ್ಯಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳೆಲ್ಲರೂ ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದ ಕೇಡನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕೇಳಿದ ಮೇಲೆ,
But when Jochanan the son of Kareach, and all the captains of the armies that were with him, heard of all the evil that Ishmael the son of Nethanyah had done:
12 ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನ ಸಂಗಡ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ಗಿಬ್ಯೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕೆರೆಯ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಂಡರು.
Then did they take all the men, and went to fight with Ishmael the son of Nethanyah, and found him by the great water[-pool] that is near Gib'on.
13 ಆಗ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ, ಕಾರೇಹನ ಮಗ ಯೋಹಾನಾನನನ್ನೂ, ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಸೈನ್ಯಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ನೋಡಿದಾಗ, ಸಂತೋಷಪಟ್ಟರು.
And it came to pass, when all the people who were with Ishmael saw Jochanan the son of Kareach, and all the captains of the armies that were with him, that they were rejoiced.
14 ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ಮಿಚ್ಪದಿಂದ ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿ ತಂದ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರು ಸುತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು, ಕಾರೇಹನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋಹಾನಾನನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು.
And all the people that Ishmael had carried away captive from Mizpah turned about and returned, and went unto Jochanan the son of Kareach.
15 ಆದರೆ ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ಎಂಟು ಜನರ ಸಂಗಡ ಯೋಹಾನಾನನಿಗೆ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು, ಅಮ್ಮೋನ್ಯರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದನು.
But Ishmael the son of Nethanyah escaped with eight men from the presence of Jochanan, and he went to the children of 'Ammon.
16 ಆಗ ಕಾರೇಹನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋಹಾನಾನನೂ, ತನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಸೈನ್ಯಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳೆಲ್ಲರೂ ತಾನು ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನ ಕೈಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ಅವನು ಅಹೀಕಾಮನ ಮಗ ಗೆದಲ್ಯನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದ ತರುವಾಯ, ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದ ಉಳಿದ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಎಂದರೆ, ಗಿಬ್ಯೋನನಿಂದ ತಾನು ತಿರುಗಿ ತಂದಿದ್ದ ಬಲಿಷ್ಠರಾದ ಯುದ್ಧದ ಗಂಡಸರನ್ನೂ, ಹೆಂಗಸರನ್ನೂ, ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ, ಕಂಚುಕಿಯರನ್ನೂ ಮಿಚ್ಪದಿಂದ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೊರಟು,
Then took Jochanan the son of Kareach, and all the captains of the armies that were with him, all the remnant of the people whom he had recovered from Ishmael the son of Nethanyah, from Mizpah, after he had slain Gedalyah the son of Achikam, the adult males, the men of war, and the women, and the children, and the eunuchs, whom he had brought back from Gib'on;
17 ಈಜಿಪ್ಟಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಗೇರುಥ್ ಕಿಮ್ಹಾಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಳಿದುಕೊಂಡರು.
And they went, and remained in Geruth-Kimham, which is by Beth-lechem, to go to enter into Egypt,
18 ಬಾಬಿಲೋನಿನ ಅರಸನು ದೇಶದ ಮೇಲೆ ನೇಮಿಸಿದ್ದ ಅಹೀಕಾಮನ ಮಗ ಗೆದಲ್ಯನನ್ನು ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದ್ದರಿಂದಲೇ, ಅವರಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟರು.
Because of the Chaldeans; for they were afraid of them; because Ishmael the son of Nethanyah had slain Gedalyahu the son of Achikam, whom the king of Babylon had appointed governor over the land.
