ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನು 36
1 ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೋಷೀಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಯಾಕೀಮನ ನಾಲ್ಕನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನಿಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಂದ ಈ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ಬಂದಿತು:
And these are the words of the book which Jeremias sent from Jerusalem to the elders of the captivity, and to the priests, and to the false prophets, even an epistle to Babylon for the captivity, and to all the people;
2 “ಗ್ರಂಥದ ಸುರುಳಿಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ನಾನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್, ಯೆಹೂದ ಮತ್ತು ಸಕಲ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿಯೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ದಿನದಿಂದ, ಯೋಷೀಯನ ದಿವಸಗಳು ಮೊದಲುಗೊಂಡು ಈ ದಿವಸದವರೆಗೂ ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆ.
(after the departure of Jechonias the king and the queen, and the eunuchs, and every freeman, and bondman, and artificer, out of Jerusalem; )
3 ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಮನೆತನದವರು ನಾನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನೆನಸುವ ಕೇಡನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕೇಳಿ ನಾನು ಅವರ ಅಕ್ರಮವನ್ನೂ, ಅವರ ಪಾಪವನ್ನೂ ಮನ್ನಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡಾರು,” ಎಂದನು.
by the hand of Eleasan son of Saphan, and Gamarias son of Chelcias, (whom Sedekias king of Juda sent to the king of Babylon to Babylon) saying,
4 ಆಗ ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನು ನೇರೀಯನ ಮಗ ಬಾರೂಕನನ್ನು ಕರೆದನು. ಬಾರೂಕನು ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕೇಳಿ, ಗ್ರಂಥದ ಸುರುಳಿಯನ್ನು ಬರೆದನು.
Thus said the Lord God of Israel concerning the captivity which I caused to be carried away from Jerusalem;
5 ಆಮೇಲೆ ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನು ಬಾರೂಕನಿಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ, “ನಾನು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂಧಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಲಾರೆನು.
Build ye houses, and inhabit [them]; and plant gardens, and eat the fruits thereof;
6 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನೀನು ಹೋಗಿ ನನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿ, ನೀನು ಬರೆದು ಸುರುಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಲಯದೊಳಗೆ ಉಪವಾಸದ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಕೇಳುವಂತೆ ಓದಿ ಹೇಳು ಮತ್ತು ತಮ್ಮ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಿಂದ ಬರುವ ಯೆಹೂದದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಕೇಳುವಂತೆಯೂ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಓದಿ ಹೇಳಬೇಕು.
and take ye wives, and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands, and be multiplied, and be not diminished.
7 ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಅವರ ವಿಜ್ಞಾಪನೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಬಂದೀತು. ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡಾರು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಈ ಜನರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿರುವ ಕೋಪವೂ, ಉರಿಯೂ ಅಪಾರವಾಗಿದೆ.”
And seek the peace of the land into which I have carried you captive, and ye shall pray to the Lord for the people: for in its peace ye shall [have] peace.
8 ಆಗ ನೇರೀಯನ ಮಗ ಬಾರೂಕನು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನು ತನಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಮಾಡಿ, ಸುರುಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿನ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಓದಿದನು.
For thus saith the Lord; Let not the false prophets that are among you persuade you, and let not your diviners persuade you, and hearken not to your dreams which ye dream.
9 ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೋಷೀಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಯಾಕೀಮನ ಐದನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದ ಒಂಬತ್ತನೆಯ ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರಿಗೂ, ಯೆಹೂದದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಿಂದ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಬಂದ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪವಾಸವನ್ನು ಸಾರಿದನು.
For they prophesy to you unrighteous [words] in my name; and I sent them not.
10 ಆಗ ಬಾರೂಕನು ಪುಸ್ತಕದಿಂದ ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಲೇಖಕನಾಗಿರುವ ಶಾಫಾನನ ಮಗನಾಗಿರುವ ಗೆಮರೀಯನ ಕೊಠಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೇಲಿನ ಅಂಗಳದಲ್ಲಿ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಲಯದ ಹೊಸ ಬಾಗಿಲಿನ ಪ್ರವೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರು ಕೇಳುವಂತೆ ಓದಿ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
For thus said the Lord; When seventy years shall be on the point of being accomplished at Babylon, I will visit you, and will confirm my words to you, to bring back your people to this place.
11 ಶಾಫಾನನ ಮೊಮ್ಮಗನೂ, ಗೆಮರೀಯನ ಮಗನೂ ಆದ ಮೀಕಾಯನು ಸುರುಳಿಯಿಂದ ಓದಲಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಅರಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಲೇಖಕನ ಕೊಠಡಿಗೆ ಇಳಿದು ಹೋದನು.
And I will devise for you a device of peace, and not evil, to bestow upon you these [good things].
12 ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಲೇಖಕ ಎಲೀಷಾಮನು, ಶೆಮಾಯನ ಮಗ ದೆಲಾಯನು, ಅಕ್ಬೋರನ ಮಗ ಎಲ್ನಾಥಾನನು, ಶಾಫಾನನ ಮಗ ಗೆಮರೀಯನು, ಹನನ್ಯನ ಮಗ ಚಿದ್ಕೀಯನು ಹೀಗೆ ರಾಜ್ಯಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು.
And do ye pray to me, and I will hearken to you: and do ye earnestly seek me, and ye shall find me;
13 ಆಗ ಮೀಕಾಯನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬಾರೂಕನು ಆ ಪುಸ್ತಕವನ್ನು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಓದಿ ಹೇಳಿದಾಗ, ತಾನು ಕೇಳಿದ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ತಿಳಿಸಿದನು.
for ye shall seek me with your whole heart.
14 ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳೆಲ್ಲರು ಸೇರಿ ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗನೂ, ಶೆಲೆಮ್ಯನ ಮೊಮ್ಮಗನೂ, ಕೂಷಿಯ ಮರಿಮಗನೂ ಆದ ಯೆಹೂದಿಯನ್ನು ಬಾರೂಕನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. “ನೀನು ಜನರ ಮುಂದೆ ಓದಿದ ಸುರುಳಿಯನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಾ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರು. ಅಂತೆಯೇ ನೇರೀಯನ ಮಗ ಬಾರೂಕನು ಸುರುಳಿಯನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅವರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಬಂದನು.
And I will appear to you:
15 ಆಗ ಅವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಈಗ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡು ನಮಗೆ ಓದಿ ಹೇಳು,” ಎಂದರು. ಆಗ ಬಾರೂಕನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಓದಿ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
whereas ye said, The Lord has appointed for us prophets in Babylon:
16 ಆಗ ಅವರು ಆ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕೇಳಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಒಬ್ಬರಿಗೊಬ್ಬರು ಹೆದರಿಕೊಂಡು, “ನಾವು ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಈ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ,” ಎಂದು ಬಾರೂಕನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
17 ಅವರು ಬಾರೂಕನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಅವನ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ಈ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹೇಗೆ ಬರೆದೆ, ನಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸು,” ಎಂದರು.
18 ಆಗ ಬಾರೂಕನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಅವನು ಈ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿಕೊಟ್ಟನು. ನಾನು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಸಿಯಿಂದ ಸುರುಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದೆನು,” ಎಂದನು.
19 ಆಗ ಪ್ರಧಾನರು ಬಾರೂಕನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನೂ, ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನೂ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಡಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ; ನೀವು ಎಲ್ಲಿದ್ದೀರೆಂಬುದು ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಗೊತ್ತಾಗಬಾರದು,” ಎಂದರು.
20 ಆಮೇಲೆ ಅವರು ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಅಂಗಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದರು; ಆದರೆ ಆ ಸುರುಳಿಯನ್ನು ಲೇಖಕನಾದ ಎಲೀಷಾಮನ ಕೊಠಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟುಬಿಟ್ಟರು ಮತ್ತು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಆ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
21 ಹೀಗೆ ಅರಸನು ಯೆಹೂದಿಯನ್ನು, ಆ ಸುರುಳಿಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬರುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು; ಅವನು ಅದನ್ನು ಲೇಖಕನಾದ ಎಲೀಷಾಮನ ಕೊಠಡಿಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡನು. ಯೆಹೂದಿಯು ಅದನ್ನು ಅರಸನಿಗೂ, ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರಧಾನರಿಗೂ ಓದಿ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
Thus saith the Lord concerning Achiab, and concerning Sedekias; Behold, I [will] deliver them into the hands of the king of Babylon; and he shall smite them in your sight.
22 ಆಗ ಒಂಬತ್ತನೆಯ ತಿಂಗಳಿನ ಅರಸನು ಚಳಿಗಾಲದ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು; ಅವನ ಮುಂದೆ ಅಗ್ಗಿಷ್ಟಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಉರಿಯುತ್ತಿತ್ತು.
And they shall make of them a curse in all the captivity of Juda in Babylon, saying, The Lord do to thee as he did to Sedekias, and as he did to Achiab, whom the king of Babylon fried in the fire;
23 ಆಗ ಯೆಹೂದಿಯು ಬರವಣಿಗೆಯ ಮೂರು ನಾಲ್ಕು ಪುಟಗಳನ್ನು ಓದಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಚೂರಿಯಿಂದ ಕೊಯ್ದು, ಅಗ್ಗಿಷ್ಟಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಬೆಂಕಿಯೊಳಗೆ ಸುರುಳಿಯನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅಗ್ಗಿಷ್ಟಿಕೆಯ ಬೆಂಕಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಟ್ಟುಹೋಗುವವರೆಗೂ ಹಾಕಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
because of the iniquity which they wrought in Israel, and [because] they committed adultery with the wives of their fellow-citizens; and spoke a word in my name, which I did not command them [to speak], and I am witness, saith the Lord.
24 ಈ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕೇಳಿದ ಅರಸನಾದರೂ, ಅವರ ಸೇವಕರಾದ ಒಬ್ಬರಾದರೂ ಹೆದರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
And to Samaeas the Aelamite thou shalt say,
25 ಹೀಗಾದರೂ ಎಲ್ನಾಥಾನನೂ, ದೆಲಾಯನೂ, ಗೆಮರೀಯನೂ ಆ ಸುರುಳಿಯನ್ನು ಸುಡಬಾರದೆಂದು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಬಿನ್ನಹ ಮಾಡಿದರು; ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡಲಿಲ್ಲ.
I sent thee not in my name: and to Sophonias the priest the son of Maasaeas say thou,
26 ಆದರೆ ಅರಸನು ರಾಜಪುತ್ರ ಯೆರಹ್ಮೇಲನಿಗೂ, ಅಜ್ರಿಯೇಲನ ಮಗನಾದ ಸೆರಾಯನಿಗೂ, ಅಬ್ದೆಯೇಲನ ಮಗ ಶೆಲೆಮ್ಯನಿಗೂ, ಲೇಖಕನಾದ ಬಾರೂಕನನ್ನೂ, ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನನ್ನೂ ಹಿಡಿಯಬೇಕೆಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದನು. ಆದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಅವರನ್ನು ಅಡಗಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
The Lord has made thee priest in the place of Jodae the priest, to be ruler in the house of the Lord over every prophet, and to every madman, and thou shalt put them in prison, and into the dungeon.
27 ಅರಸನು ಆ ಸುರುಳಿಯನ್ನು ಬಾರೂಕನು ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ಬರೆದಿದ್ದ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಸುಟ್ಟ ಮೇಲೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿತು:
And now wherefore have ye reviled together Jeremias of Anathoth, who prophesied to you?
28 “ನೀನು ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಸುರುಳಿಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಯಾಕೀಮನು ಸುಟ್ಟ ಮೊದಲನೆಯ ಸುರುಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಮುಂಚಿನ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆ.
Did he not send for this purpose? for in the course of this month he sent to you to Babylon, saying, It is far off: build ye houses, and inhabit [them]; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them.
29 ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಯಾಕೀಮನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೀಗೆ ಬರೆಯಿಸು, ‘ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ: “ಬಾಬಿಲೋನಿನ ಅರಸನು ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಬಂದು ಈ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡಿ, ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನೂ, ಮೃಗಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅದರೊಳಗಿಂದ ಹಾಳು ಮಾಡುವುದು ಖಂಡಿತ, ಎಂದು ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಏಕೆ ಬರೆದಿದ್ದೀ?” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ನೀನು ಈ ಸುರುಳಿಯನ್ನು ಸುಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೀ.
And Sophonias read the book in the ears of Jeremias.
30 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಯಾಕೀಮನನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೇಳುವುದೇನೆಂದರೆ: ದಾವೀದನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವನ ಹೆಣವು ಹಗಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಸಿಲಿಗೂ, ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಮಕ್ಕೂ ಬಿಸಾಡಲಾಗುವುದು.
Then the word of the Lord came to Jeremias, saying,
31 ಅವನನ್ನೂ, ಅವನ ಸಂತಾನವನ್ನೂ, ಅವನ ಸೇವಕರನ್ನೂ, ಅವರ ಅಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ದಂಡಿಸುವೆನು. ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ, ಯೆಹೂದದ ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ನಾನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಮಾತಾಡಿದಂಥ ಅವರು ಕಿವಿಗೊಡದಂಥ ಕೇಡನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಬರಮಾಡುವೆನು.’”
Send to the captivity, saying, Thus saith the Lord concerning Samaeas the Aelamite, Since Samaeas has prophesied to you, and I sent him not, and he has made you to trust in iniquity,
32 ಆಗ ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನು ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಸುರುಳಿಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ನೇರೀಯನ ಮಗ ಲೇಖಕನಾದ ಬಾರೂಕನಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು. ಇವನು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಯಾಕೀಮನು ಬೆಂಕಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಟ್ಟ ಸುರುಳಿಯ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ಬಂದ ಹಾಗೆ ಬರೆದನು. ಅವುಗಳ ಹಾಗಿರುವ ಅನೇಕ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳು ಅವುಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ಕೂಡಿಸಲಾದವು.
therefore thus saith the Lord; Behold, I will visit Samaeas, and his family: and there shall not be a man of them in the midst of you to see the good which I will do to you: they shall not see [it].
