ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನು 17

1 “ಯೆಹೂದದ ಪಾಪವು ಕಬ್ಬಿಣದ ಲೇಖನಿಯಿಂದಲೂ, ವಜ್ರದ ಮೊನೆಯಿಂದಲೂ ಬರೆಯಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಅದು ಅವರ ಹೃದಯದ ಹಲಗೆಯ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಅವರ ಬಲಿಪೀಠಗಳ ಕೊಂಬುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಕೆತ್ತಲಾಗಿದೆ.

Cursed is the man who trusts in man, and will lean his arm of flesh upon him, while his heart departs from the Lord.

2 ಅವರ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಅವರ ಬಲಿಪೀಠಗಳನ್ನೂ ಹಸಿರಾದ ಗಿಡಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಎತ್ತರವಾದ ಗುಡ್ಡಗಳ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಇರುವ ಅವರ ಅಶೇರ ಸ್ತಂಭಗಳನ್ನೂ ಜ್ಞಾಪಕ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರಲ್ಲಾ.

3 ನಾಡಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನನ್ನ ಪರ್ವತವೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರಾಂತಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಪಕ್ಕಾಗಿರುವ ನಿನ್ನ ಉನ್ನತ ಪೂಜಾಸ್ಥಳಗಳನ್ನೂ ನಾನು ಕೊಳ್ಳೆಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುವೆನು.

4 ಆಗ ನಿನ್ನ ದೋಷದಿಂದಲೇ ನೀನು ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಸೊತ್ತನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬಿಡುವೆ. ನಿನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯದ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಶತ್ರುಗಳಿಗೆ ದಾಸರನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡುವೆನು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನೀವು ನನ್ನ ರೋಷಾಗ್ನಿಯನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿಸಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ಅದು ನಿತ್ಯವೂ ಪ್ರಜ್ವಲಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವುದು.”

5 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ: “ಮಾನವನ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಆಧಾರವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಶಾಪಗ್ರಸ್ತ, ಅವನು ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಶಕ್ತಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಭರವಸೆ ಇಡುವನು. ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ಯಾವನ ಹೃದಯವು ತೊಲಗುವುದೋ, ಅವನು ಶಾಪಗ್ರಸ್ತನು.

6 ಅವನು ಅಡವಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಜಾಲಿ ಗಿಡದ ಹಾಗಿರುವನು. ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದು ಬರುವಾಗ ನೋಡದೆ ಇರುವನು. ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳಿಲ್ಲದ ಚೌಳು ನೆಲವಾಗಿರುವ ಮರುಭೂಮಿಯ ನೀರಿಲ್ಲದ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿರುವನು.

And he shall be as the wild tamarisk in the desert: he shall not see when good comes; but he shall dwell in barren [places], and in the wilderness, in a salt land which is not inhabited.

7 “ಯಾವನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಲ್ಲಿ ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಇಟ್ಟಿರುವನೋ, ಯಾವನಿಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಭರವಸೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೋ, ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಧನ್ಯನು.

But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord shall be.

8 ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವನು ನೀರಿನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಡಲಾದ, ಹೊಳೆಯ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ಬೇರುಗಳನ್ನು ಹರಡಿರುವ ಮರದ ಹಾಗಿರುವನು. ಬಿಸಿಲಿನ ಧಗೆಗೆ ಭಯಪಡದೆ, ಹಸುರೆಲೆಯನ್ನು ಚಿಗುರಿಸುತ್ತಾ. ಬರಗಾಲದ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಿಶ್ಚಿಂತೆಯಾಗಿ ಸದಾ ಫಲಕೊಡುತ್ತಾ ಇರುವ ಮರಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮಾನನಾಗಿರುವನು.”

And he shall be as a thriving tree by the waters, and he shall cast forth his root toward a moist place: he shall not fear when heat comes, and there shall be upon him shady branches: he shall not fear in a year of drought, and he shall not fail to bear fruit.

9 ಹೃದಯವು ಎಲ್ಲಾದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ವಂಚನೆಯುಳ್ಳದ್ದಾಗಿಯೂ ಗುಣಪಡಿಸಲು ಅಸಾಧ್ಯವಾದದ್ದೂ ಆಗಿದೆ. ಅದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯುವವನ್ಯಾರು?

The heart is deep beyond all things, and it is the man, and who can know him?

10 “ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಾದ ನಾನೇ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಅಂತರಿಂದ್ರಿಯಗಳನ್ನು ಶೋಧಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ಅವನವನ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೂ, ಅವನ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳ ಫಲದ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೂ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲ ಕೊಡುತ್ತೇನೆ.”

I the Lord try the hearts, and prove the reins, to give to every one according to his ways, and according to the fruits of his devices.

11 ಕೌಜುಗವು ತನ್ನದಲ್ಲದ ಮರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಹಾಗೆ, ಅನ್ಯಾಯವಾಗಿ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸುವವನು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಇದ್ದಾನೆ. ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಮಧ್ಯಪ್ರಾಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಬಿಡುವನು. ತನ್ನ ಅಂತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನು ಮೂರ್ಖನೆಂದು ಸಾಬೀತಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

The partridge utters her voice, she gathers [eggs] which she did not lay; [so is a man] gaining his wealth unjustly; in the midst of his days [his riches] shall leave him, and at his latter end he will be a fool.

12 ಆದಿಯಿಂದ ಮಹಿಮೆಯುಳ್ಳ ಉನ್ನತ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನವು ನಮ್ಮ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ಸ್ಥಳವಾಗಿದೆ.

An exalted throne of glory is our sanctuary.

13 ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಾದ ಓ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರೇ, ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತೊರೆದುಬಿಟ್ಟವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ನಾಚಿಕೆಗೆ ಒಳಗಾಗುವರು, ಜೀವವುಳ್ಳ ನೀರಿನ ಬುಗ್ಗೆಯಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಂದ ತೊಲಗಿ ಹೋದವರನ್ನು ಧೂಳಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆಯಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

O Lord, the hope of Israel, let all that have left you be ashamed, let them that have revolted be written on the earth, because they have forsaken the fountain of life, the Lord.

14 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರೇ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಸ್ವಸ್ಥಮಾಡಿ, ಆಗ ಸ್ವಸ್ಥವಾಗುವೆನು. ನನ್ನನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸು, ಆಗ ರಕ್ಷಿತನಾಗುವೆನು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ, ನೀವೇ ನನಗೆ ಸ್ತುತ್ಯರು.

Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved; for you are my boast.

15 ಇಗೋ, ಅವರು ನನಗೆ, “ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ಎಲ್ಲಿ? ಅದು ಈಗ ನೆರವೇರಲಿ,” ಅನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ.

Behold, they say to me, Where is the word of the Lord? let it come.

16 ನಾನಾದರೋ ಸಭಾಪಾಲನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸುವುದನ್ನು ಬಿಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಆತುರಪಡಲಿಲ್ಲ; ವಿಪತ್ತಿನ ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ; ನೀವೇ ಬಲ್ಲೆ; ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಮಕ್ಷಮದಲ್ಲೇ ನನ್ನ ಬಾಯ ಮಾತು ಹೊರಟಿತು.

But I have not been weary of following you, nor have I desired the day of man; you know; the [words] that proceed out of my lips are before your face.

17 ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಭಯಪಡಿಸಬೇಡಿ. ಕೇಡಿನ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವೇ ನನ್ನ ಆಶ್ರಯವಾಗಿದ್ದೀರಿ.

Be not to me a stranger, [but] spare me in the evil day.

18 ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಸಿಸುವವರು ನಾಚಿಕೆಗೆ ಗುರಿಯಾಗಲಿ; ಆದರೆ ನನಗೆ ನಾಚಿಕೆಯಾಗದಿರಲಿ. ಅವರು ದಿಗಿಲು ಪಡಲಿ; ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ದಿಗಿಲು ಪಡದಿರಲಿ. ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ದಿಗಿಲು ಪಡದಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಕೆಟ್ಟದಿನವನ್ನು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರಮಾಡಿ. ಎರಡರಷ್ಟಾದ ನಾಶದಿಂದ ಅವರನ್ನು ನಾಶಪಡಿಸಿ.

Let them that persecute me be ashamed, but let me not be ashamed: let them be alarmed, but let me not be alarmed: bring upon them the evil day, crush them with double destruction.

19 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನನಗೆ, “ಹೋಗಿ, ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸರು ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸುವ, ಹೊರಡುವ ಜನರ ಬಾಗಿಲಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಬಾಗಿಲುಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡು,

Thus says the Lord; Go and stand in the gates of the children of your people, by which the kings of Juda enter, and by which they go out, and in all the gates of Jerusalem:

20 ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳು: ‘ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸರೇ, ಸಮಸ್ತ ಯೆಹೂದವೇ, ಈ ಬಾಗಿಲುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸುವ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳೇ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿರಿ.

and you shall say to them, Hear the word of the Lord, you kings of Juda, and all Judea, and all Jerusalem, [all] who go in at these gates:

21 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ: ನಿಮಗೆ ನೀವೇ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆಯಾಗಿರಿ. ಸಬ್ಬತ್ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊರೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಬಾಗಿಲುಗಳೊಳಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬರಬೇಡಿರಿ.

thus says the Lord; Take heed to your souls, and take up no burdens on the sabbath-day, and go not forth [through] the gates of Jerusalem;

22 ಸಬ್ಬತ್ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊರೆಯನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಗಳಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಬೇಡಿರಿ. ಯಾವ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡಬೇಡಿರಿ. ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳಿಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ, ಸಬ್ಬತ್ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧವಾಗಿಡಬೇಕು.

and carry forth no burdens out of your houses on the sabbath-day, and you shall do no work: sanctify the sabbath-day, as I commanded your fathers.

23 ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ವಿಧೇಯರಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಕಿವಿಗೊಟ್ಟು ಕೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ವಿಧೇಯರಾಗದ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ, ಉಪದೇಶ ಹೊಂದದ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ಹಟಮಾರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು.

But they listened not, and inclined not their ear, but stiffened their neck more than their fathers [did], so as not to hear me, and not to receive correction.

24 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಾದ ನನ್ನ ನುಡಿ ಇದೇ: ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಜಾಗ್ರತೆಯಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿ, ಸಬ್ಬತ್ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ, ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಬಾಗಿಲುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊರೆಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಾರದೆ, ಸಬ್ಬತ್ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದೊಂದು ಕೆಲಸಮಾಡದೆ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿದರೆ,

And it shall come to pass, if you will listen to me, says the Lord, to carry in no burdens through the gates of this city on the sabbath-day, and to sanctify the sabbath-day, so as to do no work [upon it],

25 ದಾವೀದನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೂರುವ ಅರಸರು ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಧಾನರು ರಥಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಕುದುರೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಸವಾರಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು, ಯೆಹೂದದ ಮನುಷ್ಯರಾಗಿಯೂ, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳಾಗಿಯೂ ಇದ್ದು, ಅವರೂ, ಅವರ ಪ್ರಧಾನರೂ ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಬಾಗಿಲುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸುವರು. ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಂದೆಂದಿಗೂ ವಾಸಮಾಡಿದರು.

that there shall enter through the gates of this city kings and princes sitting on the throne of David, and riding on their chariots and horses, they, and their princes, the men of Juda, and the dwellers in Jerusalem: and this city shall be inhabited for ever.

26 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಿಂದಲೂ, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಸುತ್ತಲಿನ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಿಂದಲೂ, ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನನ ದೇಶದಿಂದಲೂ, ಬಯಲಿನಿಂದಲೂ, ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳಿಂದಲೂ, ದಕ್ಷಿಣದಿಂದಲೂ ದಹನಬಲಿಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಬಲಿಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಧಾನ್ಯ ಸಮರ್ಪಣೆಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಧೂಪವನ್ನೂ ತರುವರು. ಸ್ತೋತ್ರದ ಅರ್ಪಣೆಗಳನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ತರುವರು.

And [men] shall come out of the cities of Juda, and from round about Jerusalem, and out of the land of Benjamin, and out of the plain country, and from the hill country, and from the south [country], bringing whole burnt offerings, and sacrifices, and incense, and manna, and frankincense, bringing praise to the house of the Lord.

27 ಆದರೆ ನೀವು ಸಬ್ಬತ್ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧಮಾಡದೆ, ಸಬ್ಬತ್ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊರೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಬಾಗಿಲುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದರೆ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ದ್ವಾರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಂಕಿಯನ್ನು ಹಚ್ಚುವೆನು. ಅದು ಆರಿಹೋಗದೆ, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಕೋಟೆಗಳನ್ನು ದಹಿಸಿಬಿಡುವುದು.’”

But it shall come to pass, if you will not listen to me to sanctify the sabbath-day, to bear no burdens, nor go in [with them by] the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath-day; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the streets of Jerusalem, and shall not be quenched.
