ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನು 10
1 ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ವಂಶದವರೇ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುವ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿರಿ.
Hear ye the word which Yhwh speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
2 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ: ಬೇರೆ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ಆಚರಣೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಬೇಡಿರಿ. ಅವರು ಆಕಾಶದ ಗುರುತುಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೆದರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ನೀವು ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೆದರಬೇಡಿರಿ.
Thus saith Yhwh, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
3 ಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ಪದ್ಧತಿಗಳು ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾಗಿವೆ. ಹೇಗೆಂದರೆ, ಅಡವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಮರವನ್ನು ಕಡಿಯುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಅದು ಕೊಡಲಿಯಿಂದ ಕಡಿದ ಬಡಿಗೆಯವನ ಕೈಕೆಲಸವೇ.
For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
4 ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ಬಂಗಾರದಿಂದಲೂ ಅದನ್ನು ಅಲಂಕರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಮೊಳೆಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ಸುತ್ತಿಗೆಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ಚಲಿಸದ ಹಾಗೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಬಿಗಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
5 ಇಂಥಾ ಬೊಂಬೆಗಳು ಸೌತೆಕಾಯಿ ತೋಟದ ಬೆದರುಗಂಬದಂತಿವೆ, ಅವರ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳು ಮಾತನಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಳ್ಳತಕ್ಕದ್ದು, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವು ನಡೆಯಲಾರವು. ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಡಬೇಡಿರಿ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ, ಅವು ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲಾರವು. ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವುದೂ ಸಹ ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲ.
They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.
6 ಓ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರೇ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹಾಗೆ ಯಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲ. ನೀವು ಮಹೋತ್ತಮರು, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೆಸರು ಪರಾಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹತ್ತರವಾದದ್ದು.
Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O Yhwh; thou art great, and thy name is great in might.
7 ಓ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ಅರಸರಾದವರೇ, ನಿಮಗೆ ಭಯಪಡದವನ್ಯಾರು? ಏಕೆಂದರೆ, ನಿಮಗೆ ಅದು ಸಲ್ಲತಕ್ಕದ್ದು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ, ಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಅವುಗಳ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹಾಗೆ ಯಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.
Who would not fear thee, O King of nations? for to thee doth it appertain: forasmuch as among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like unto thee.
8 ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ಮಂದರೂ ಮೂರ್ಖರೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರಿಗೆ ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾದ ಮರ, ಬೊಂಬೆಗಳಿಂದ ಬೋಧನೆಯಾಗಿವೆ.
But they are altogether brutish and foolish: the stock is a doctrine of vanities.
9 ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯ ತಗಡುಗಳನ್ನು ತಾರ್ಷೀಷಿನಿಂದಲೂ, ಬಂಗಾರವನ್ನು ಊಫಜಿನಿಂದ ತರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅದು ಕೆತ್ತನೆಯವನ ಕೆಲಸವು ಮತ್ತು ಎರಕ ಹೊಯ್ಯುವವನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಉಂಟಾದವುಗಳೂ ಆಗಿವೆ. ನೀಲಿಯೂ ಧೂಮ್ರ ವರ್ಣವೂ ಅವುಗಳ ವಸ್ತ್ರವಾಗಿದೆ. ಅವುಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯಗಾರರ ಕೈಕೆಲಸವೇ.
Silver spread into plates is brought from Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz, the work of the workman, and of the hands of the founder: blue and purple is their clothing: they are all the work of cunning men.
10 ಆದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಜವಾದ ದೇವರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರು ಜೀವಸ್ವರೂಪರಾದ ದೇವರೂ, ನಿತ್ಯನಾದ ಅರಸರೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರ ರೌದ್ರದಿಂದ ಭೂಮಿ ಕಂಪಿಸುವುದು. ಅವರ ಉಗ್ರತೆಯನ್ನು ಜನಾಂಗಗಳು ತಾಳಲಾರವು.
But Yhwh is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.
11 “ನೀವು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಬೇಕು: ‘ಆಕಾಶಗಳನ್ನೂ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನೂ ಉಂಟು ಮಾಡದ ದೇವರುಗಳು, ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲಿನಿಂದಲೂ ಈ ಆಕಾಶದ ಕೆಳಗಿನಿಂದಲೂ ನಾಶವಾಗುವುವು.’”
Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens.
12 ಆದರೆ ದೇವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಶಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿ, ತಮ್ಮ ಜ್ಞಾನದಿಂದ ಲೋಕವನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿ, ತಮ್ಮ ವಿವೇಕದಿಂದ ಆಕಾಶವನ್ನು ವಿಸ್ತರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.
13 ಅವರ ಗರ್ಜನೆಗೆ ಆಕಾಶದಲ್ಲಿನ ನೀರು ಭೋರ್ಗರೆಯುತ್ತದೆ, ಅವರು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಕಟ್ಟಕಡೆಗಳಿಂದ ಮೋಡಗಳನ್ನು ಏಳುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಮಳೆಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಮಿಂಚನ್ನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ತಮ್ಮ ಭಂಡಾರದಿಂದ ಗಾಳಿಯನ್ನು ಬೀಸಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.
When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.
14 ಪ್ರತಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆ ಇಲ್ಲದವನೂ ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ತಾನು ಕೆತ್ತಿದ ವಿಗ್ರಹಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬ ಅಕ್ಕಸಾಲಿಗನೂ ನಾಚಿಕೆಪಡುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವರ ಎರಕದ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳು ಸುಳ್ಳೇ, ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಉಸಿರೇ ಇಲ್ಲ.
Every man is brutish in his knowledge: every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.
15 ಅವು ವ್ಯರ್ಥ, ಹಾಸ್ಯಾಸ್ಪದದ ಕೆಲಸ. ಅವುಗಳ ದಂಡನೆಯ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವು ನಾಶವಾಗುವುವು.
They are vanity, and the work of errors: in the time of their visitation they shall perish.
16 ಯಾಕೋಬ್ಯರ ಪಾಲಾಗಿರುವವರು ಇವುಗಳ ಹಾಗಲ್ಲ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವರು ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸಿದವರೇ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಅವರ ಸ್ವಾಸ್ತ್ಯವಾದ ವಂಶ. ಅವರ ಹೆಸರು ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರೇ.
The portion of Jacob is not like them: for he is the former of all things; and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: Yhwh of Armies is his name.
17 ಮುತ್ತಿಗೆಗೆ ಒಳಗಾದವರೇ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇಶ ಬಿಡಲು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸೊತ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿರಿ.
Gather up thy wares out of the land, O inhabitant of the fortress.
18 ಏಕೆಂದರೆ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ: “ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ಈ ಒಂದೇ ಸಾರಿ ದೇಶದ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕವಣೆಯಿಂದ ಎಸೆದುಬಿಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಅವರಿಗೆ ತಗಲುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸಂಕಟಪಡಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.”
For thus saith Yhwh, Behold, I will sling out the inhabitants of the land at this once, and will distress them, that they may find it so.
19 ನನ್ನ ನೋವಿನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ನನಗೆ ಅಯ್ಯೋ, ನನ್ನ ಗಾಯವು ವಾಸಿಪಡಿಸಲಾಗದು. ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ, “ಇದು ನನ್ನ ರೋಗ, ಇದನ್ನು ನಾನು ಸಹಿಸಲೇಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ,” ಎಂದೆನು.
Woe is me for my hurt! my wound is grievous: but I said, Truly this is a grief, and I must bear it.
20 ನನ್ನ ಗುಡಾರವು ಸೂರೆಯಾಯಿತು; ನನ್ನ ಹಗ್ಗಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹರಿದಿವೆ. ನನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ಅವರು ಇಲ್ಲ. ಇನ್ನು ಮೇಲೆ ನನ್ನ ಡೇರೆಯನ್ನು ಹರಡುವುದಕ್ಕೂ, ನನ್ನ ಪರದೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಒಬ್ಬನೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.
My tabernacle is spoiled, and all my cords are broken: my children are gone forth of me, and they are not: there is none to stretch forth my tent any more, and to set up my curtains.
21 ಏಕೆಂದರೆ, ಕುರುಬರು ಪಶುಗಳಂತಾದರು. ಅವರು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ಸಫಲವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವರ ಮಂದೆಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ಚದರಿಸಲಾಗುವುವು.
For the pastors are become brutish, and have not sought Yhwh: therefore they shall not prosper, and all their flocks shall be scattered.
22 ಇಗೋ, ಯೆಹೂದದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಳು ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೂ, ನರಿಗಳ ಹಕ್ಕೆಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೂ, ಸುದ್ದಿಯ ಶಬ್ದವೂ, ಉತ್ತರ ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಮಹಾ ಗಲಭೆಯೂ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ.
Behold, the noise of the bruit is come, and a great commotion out of the north country, to make the cities of Judah desolate, and a den of dragons.
23 ಓ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರೇ, ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಮಾರ್ಗವು ತನ್ನಲ್ಲಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದೂ, ತನ್ನ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆ ನೆಟ್ಟಗೆ ಮಾಡುವುದು ನಡೆಯುವ ಮನುಷ್ಯನದ್ದಲ್ಲವೆಂದೂ ಬಲ್ಲೆನು.
O Yhwh, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.
24 ಓ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರೇ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಶಿಸ್ತುಪಡಿಸಿರಿ. ಆದರೆ ಮಿತಿಮೀರಿ ದಂಡಿಸಬೇಡಿರಿ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕೋಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲ್ಲ. ಇಲ್ಲವಾದರೆ ನಾನು ಇಲ್ಲದೆಹೋಗುವೆನು.
O Yhwh, correct me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.
25 ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯದವರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಅರಿಯದ ದೇಶಗಳ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕೋಪವನ್ನು ಸುರಿದುಬಿಡಿರಿ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ, ಅವರು ಯಾಕೋಬ್ಯರನ್ನು ನುಂಗಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಹೌದು, ಅವರನ್ನು ನುಂಗಿದ್ದಲ್ಲದೆ, ಅವರ ಸ್ವದೇಶವನ್ನು ಸಹ ನಾಶಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
Pour out thy fury upon the heathen that know thee not, and upon the families that call not on thy name: for they have eaten up Jacob, and devoured him, and consumed him, and have made his habitation desolate.
