ಆದಿಕಾಂಡ 13

1 ಆಗ ಅಬ್ರಾಮನು ತನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ತನಗೆ ಇದ್ದದ್ದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಲೋಟನ ಸಂಗಡ ಈಜಿಪ್ಟನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ನೆಗೆವಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಮಾಡಿದನು.

And Abram goes up from Egypt (he and his wife, and all that he has, and Lot with him) toward the south;

2 ಅಬ್ರಾಮನು ಪಶುಗಳು, ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ ಮತ್ತು ಬಂಗಾರವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿ ಬಹು ಧನವಂತನಾಗಿದ್ದನು.

and Abram [is] exceedingly wealthy in livestock, in silver, and in gold.

3 ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಗೆವದಿಂದ ಬೇತೇಲಿಗೆ, ಎಂದರೆ ಮೊದಲು ಬೇತೇಲಿಗೂ ಆಯಿ ಎಂಬ ಊರಿಗೂ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನ ಗುಡಾರವಿದ್ದ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದನು.

And he goes on his journeys from the south, even to Bethel, to the place where his tent had been at the commencement, between Bethel and Hai—

4 ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅಬ್ರಾಮನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಂಡು ಆರಾಧಿಸಿದನು.

to the place of the altar which he made there at the first, and there Abram preaches in the Name of YHWH.

5 ಅಬ್ರಾಮನ ಸಂಗಡ ಬಂದ ಲೋಟನಿಗೆ ಸಹ ಕುರಿ ದನಗಳೂ ಗುಡಾರಗಳೂ ಇದ್ದವು.

And also to Lot, who is going with Abram, there has been sheep and oxen and tents;

6 ಆಗ ಅವರು ಒಂದಾಗಿ ವಾಸಿಸಲಿಕ್ಕೆ ಆ ಸ್ಥಳ ಸಾಲದೆ ಹೋಯಿತು. ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರ ಸಂಪತ್ತು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಒಂದೇ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ವಾಸವಾಗಿರಲು ಆಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.

and the land has not permitted them to dwell together, for their substance has been much, and they have not been able to dwell together;

7 ಆಗ ಅಬ್ರಾಮನ ದನ ಕಾಯುವವರಿಗೂ ಲೋಟನ ದನ ಕಾಯುವವರಿಗೂ ಜಗಳವಾಯಿತು. ಕಾನಾನ್ಯರೂ ಪೆರಿಜೀಯರೂ ಆಗ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದರು.

and there is a strife between those feeding Abram’s livestock and those feeding Lot’s livestock; and the Canaanite and the Perizzite [are] then dwelling in the land.

8 ಅಬ್ರಾಮನು ಲೋಟನಿಗೆ, “ನನಗೂ, ನಿನಗೂ; ನನ್ನ ದನ ಕಾಯುವವರಿಗೂ ನಿನ್ನ ದನ ಕಾಯುವವರಿಗೂ ಜಗಳವಿರಬಾರದು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಾವು ಬಳಗದವರು.

And Abram says to Lot, “Please let there not be strife between me and you, and between my shepherds and your shepherds, for we [are] men—brothers.

9 ದೇಶವೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಇರುತ್ತದೆಯಲ್ಲವೆ? ನಾವು ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕವಾಗೋಣ. ನೀನು ಎಡಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದರೆ, ನಾನು ಬಲಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುವೆನು; ನೀನು ಬಲಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದರೆ, ನಾನು ಎಡಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುವೆನು,” ಎಂದನು.

Is not all the land before you? Please be parted from me; if to the left, then I to the right; and if to the right, then I to the left.”

10 ಲೋಟನು ತನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನೆತ್ತಿ ನೋಡಿ ಯೊರ್ದನಿನ ಮೈದಾನವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕಂಡನು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಸೊದೋಮನ್ನೂ ಗೊಮೋರವನ್ನೂ ನಾಶ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆ, ಅದೆಲ್ಲಾ ಚೋಗರಿನವರೆಗೆ ನೀರಾವರಿ ಪ್ರದೇಶವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ತೋಟದಂತೆಯೂ ಈಜಿಪ್ಟ್ ದೇಶದಂತೆಯೂ ಇತ್ತು.

And Lot lifts up his eyes, and sees the whole circuit of the Jordan that it [is] all a watered country (before YHWH’s destroying Sodom and Gomorrah, as YHWH’s garden, as the land of Egypt), in your coming toward Zoar,

11 ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಲೋಟನು ಯೊರ್ದನಿನ ಕಣಿವೆಯನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ತನಗಾಗಿ ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು. ಲೋಟನು ಪೂರ್ವದಿಕ್ಕಿನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಹೊರಟಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಅವರು ಒಬ್ಬರಿಂದೊಬ್ಬರು ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕವಾದರು.

and Lot chooses for himself the whole circuit of the Jordan; and Lot journeys from the east, and they are parted—a man from his companion;

12 ಅಬ್ರಾಮನು ಕಾನಾನ್ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಮಾಡಿದನು. ಲೋಟನಾದರೋ ಸಮತಟ್ಟಾದ ಊರುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಸೊದೋಮಿನ ಬಳಿ ತನ್ನ ಗುಡಾರವನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿದನು.

Abram has dwelt in the land of Canaan, and Lot has dwelt in the cities of the circuit, and moves [his] tent to Sodom;

13 ಸೊದೋಮಿನ ಜನರು ದುಷ್ಟರಾಗಿದ್ದರು ಮತ್ತು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಬಹಳ ಪಾಪಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.

and the men of Sodom [are] evil, and sinners before YHWH exceedingly.

14 ಲೋಟನು ಅಬ್ರಾಮನಿಂದ ಹೋದ ಮೇಲೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಈಗ ನೀನಿರುವ ಸ್ಥಳದಿಂದ ಉತ್ತರಕ್ಕೂ ದಕ್ಷಿಣಕ್ಕೂ ಪೂರ್ವಕ್ಕೂ ಪಶ್ಚಿಮಕ್ಕೂ ಕಣ್ಣೆತ್ತಿ ನೋಡು.

And YHWH said to Abram, after Lot’s being parted from him, “Now lift up your eyes and look from the place where you [are], northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward;

15 ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನೀನು ಕಾಣುವ ದೇಶವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಾನು ನಿನಗೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂತತಿಗೂ ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾಗಿ ಕೊಡುವೆನು.

for the whole of the land which you are seeing, I give it to you and to your Seed for all time.

16 ಭೂಮಿಯ ಧೂಳನ್ನು ಒಬ್ಬನು ಲೆಕ್ಕಿಸಬಹುದಾದರೆ, ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂತಾನದವರನ್ನು ಸಹ ಲೆಕ್ಕಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗುವುದು.

And I have set your seed as dust of the earth, so that, if one is able to number the dust of the earth, even your seed is numbered;

17 ಎದ್ದು ದೇಶದ ಉದ್ದಗಲಕ್ಕೂ ನಡೆದಾಡು. ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವೆನು,” ಎಂದರು.

rise, go up and down through the land, to its length, and to its breadth, for to you I give it.”

18 ಅನಂತರ ಅಬ್ರಾಮನು ತನ್ನ ಗುಡಾರವನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾ, ಹೆಬ್ರೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮಮ್ರೆಯ ತೋಪಿಗೆ ಬಂದು, ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದನು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಬಲಿಪೀಠವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿದನು.

And Abram moves [his] tent, and comes, and dwells among the oaks of Mamre, which [are] in Hebron, and builds there an altar to YHWH.
