ಎಸ್ತೇರಳು 6
1 ಆ ರಾತ್ರಿ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ನಿದ್ರೆ ಬರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅರಸನು ಇತಿಹಾಸ ಘಟನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬರೆದಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದ ಗ್ರಂಥವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬರಲು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
On that night could not the king sleep; and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles, and they were read before the king.
2 ಅದನ್ನು ಅರಸನ ಮುಂದೆ ತಂದು ಓದಿಸಿದಾಗ, ದ್ವಾರಪಾಲಕರಾಗಿದ್ದ ರಾಜಕಂಚುಕಿಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಇಬ್ಬರಾದ ಬಿಗೆತಾನನೂ ತೆರೆಷನೂ ಅರಸನಾದ ಅಹಷ್ವೇರೋಷನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲಬೇಕೆಂದು ಒಳಸಂಚುಮಾಡಿದ ಘಟನೆಯು ಬರೆದಿತ್ತು. ಮೊರ್ದೆಕೈಯು ಹೇಗೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದನೆಂದು ಸಹ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದಿತ್ತು.
And it was found written, that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king's chamberlains, of those that kept the door, who had sought to lay hands on the king Ahasuerus.
3 ಆಗ ಅರಸನು, “ಈ ಸತ್ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಮೊರ್ದೆಕೈಯನಿಗೆ ಯಾವ ಸನ್ಮಾನ ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು?” ಎಂದು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿದನು. ಅರಸನ ಸೇವಕರು, “ಮೊರ್ದೆಕೈಯನಿಗೆ ಏನೂ ಮಾಡಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
And the king said: 'What honour and dignity hath been done to Mordecai for this?' Then said the king's servants that ministered unto him: 'There is nothing done for him.'
4 ಆಗ ಅರಸನು, “ಯಾರು ಅಂಗಳದಲ್ಲಿ?” ಎಂದನು. ಅಷ್ಟರಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಮಾನನು ತಾನು ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿಸಿದ ಗಲ್ಲುಮರಕ್ಕೆ ಮೊರ್ದೆಕೈಯನ್ನು ನೇಣುಹಾಕಿಸಲು ಅರಸನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಲು ಅರಮನೆಯ ಹೊರಗಿನ ಅಂಗಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದನು.
And the king said: 'Who is in the court?' — Now Haman was come into the outer court of the king's house, to speak unto the king to hang Mordecai on the gallows that he had prepared for him. —
5 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅರಸನ ಸೇವಕರು, “ಇಗೋ, ಹಾಮಾನನು ಅಂಗಳದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದಾನೆ,” ಎಂದರು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅರಸನು, “ಅವನು ಒಳಗೆ ಬರಲಿ,” ಎಂದನು.
And the king's servants said unto him: 'Behold, Haman standeth in the court.' And the king said: 'Let him come in.'
6 ಹಾಮಾನನು ಒಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅರಸನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಅರಸನು ಒಬ್ಬ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಲು ಬಯಸಿದರೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಅಂಥ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾದದ್ದೇನು?” ಎಂದು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿದನು. ಆಗ ಹಾಮಾನನು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ಅರಸನು ಬೇರೆ ಯಾರನ್ನು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುವನು ಎಂದುಕೊಂಡನು.
So Haman came in. And the king said unto him: 'What shall be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honour?' — Now Haman said in his heart: 'Whom would the king delight to honour besides myself?' —
7 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಹಾಮಾನನು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ, “ಅರಸನು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುವ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾದದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ,
And Haman said unto the king: 'For the man whom the king delighteth to honour,
8 ಅರಸನು ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ರಾಜವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಅರಸನು ಸವಾರಿ ಮಾಡುವ ಕುದುರೆಯನ್ನೂ, ಅರಸನ ತಲೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ರಾಜಕಿರೀಟವನ್ನೂ ತರಿಸಬೇಕು.
let royal apparel be brought which the king useth to wear, and the horse that the king rideth upon, and on whose head a crown royal is set;
9 ಆ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕುದುರೆಯನ್ನೂ ಅರಸನ ಪ್ರಧಾನರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನ ವಶಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಡಬೇಕು. ಇವನು ಅರಸನು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುವ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗೆ ರಾಜವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ತೊಡಿಸಿದ ತರುವಾಯ, ಅವನನ್ನು ಕುದುರೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೂರಿಸಿ ಪಟ್ಟಣ ಬೀದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮೆರವಣಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ಅವನ ಮುಂದೆ, ‘ಅರಸನು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುವ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಗೌರವಿಸುವ ರೀತಿ ಇದೇ!’ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಬೇಕು,” ಎಂದನು.
and let the apparel and the horse be delivered to the hand of one of the king's most noble princes, that they may array the man therewith whom the king delighteth to honour, and cause him to ride on horseback through the street of the city, and proclaim before him: Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delighteth to honour.'
10 ಆಗ ಅರಸನು ಹಾಮಾನನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಹೇಳಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ಬೇಗನೆ ಹೋಗಿ ರಾಜವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನೂ ಪಟ್ಟದ ಕುದುರೆಯನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅರಮನೆಯ ಹೆಬ್ಬಾಗಿಲಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತಿರುವ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯನಾದ ಮೊರ್ದೆಕೈಗೆ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಾಡು. ನೀನು ಸಲಹೆಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದನ್ನೂ ಬಿಡದೆ, ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡು,” ಎಂದು ಹಾಮಾನನಿಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದನು.
Then the king said to Haman: 'Make haste, and take the apparel and the horse, as thou hast said, and do even so to Mordecai the Jew, that sitteth at the king's gate; let nothing fail of all that thou hast spoken.'
11 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಹಾಮಾನನು ರಾಜವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನೂ ಪಟ್ಟದ ಕುದುರೆಯನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಮೊರ್ದೆಕೈಗೆ ಆ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ತೊಡಿಸಿ, ಅವನನ್ನು ಕುದುರೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೂರಿಸಿ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಬೀದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮೆರವಣಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿಸಿ ಅವನ ಮುಂದೆ, “ಅರಸನು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುವ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಗೌರವಿಸುವ ರೀತಿ ಇದೇ!” ಎಂದು ಸಾರಿದನು.
Then took Haman the apparel and the horse, and arrayed Mordecai, and caused him to ride through the street of the city, and proclaimed before him: 'Thus shall it be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honour.'
12 ಅನಂತರ ಮೊರ್ದೆಕೈ ಪುನಃ ಅರಮನೆಯ ಬಾಗಿಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದನು. ಆದರೆ ಹಾಮಾನನು ದುಃಖಪಟ್ಟು ತಲೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿಕೊಂಡು ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಶೀಘ್ರವಾಗಿ ಹೋದನು.
And Mordecai returned to the king's gate. But Haman hasted to his house, mourning and having his head covered.
13 ಆಗ ಹಾಮಾನನು ತನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾದ ಜೆರೆಷಳಿಗೂ ತನ್ನ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರಿಗೂ ತನಗೆ ಆದದ್ದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ವಿವರವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಆಗ ಅವನ ಸಲಹೆಗಾರರೂ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾದ ಜೆರೆಷಳೂ ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಯಾವನ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಬೀಳುವಿಕೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಯಿತೋ, ಆ ಮೊರ್ದೆಕೈ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯನಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ನೀನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಜಯಿಸಲಾರೆ. ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ, ನೀನು ಅವನಿಂದ ನಾಶವಾಗುವಿ,” ಎಂದರು.
And Haman recounted unto Zeresh his wife and all his friends every thing that had befallen him. Then said his wise men and Zeresh his wife unto him: 'If Mordecai, before whom thou hast begun to fall, be of the seed of the Jews, thou shalt not prevail against him, but shalt surely fall before him.'
14 ಅವರು ಇನ್ನೂ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗಲೇ ರಾಜಕಂಚುಕಿಯವರು ಬಂದು, ಎಸ್ತೇರಳು ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಿದ ಔತಣಕ್ಕೆ ಬೇಗನೆ ಬರಬೇಕೆಂದು ಹಾಮಾನನನ್ನು ಕರೆದರು.
While they were yet talking with him, came the king's chamberlains, and hastened to bring Haman unto the banquet that Esther had prepared.
