ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶಕಾಂಡ 14
1 ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮಕ್ಕಳು. ನೀವು ಸತ್ತವರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಗಾಯಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಾರದು. ಮುಂದಲೆಯನ್ನು ಬೋಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಾರದು.
You are the people of Yahweh your God. Do not cut yourselves, nor shave any part of your face for the dead.
2 ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ಜನರೇ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರೊಳಗಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನೇ ತಮ್ಮ ಅಮೂಲ್ಯವಾದ ಆಸ್ತಿಯಾಗಿ ಆಯ್ದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
For you are a nation that is set apart to Yahweh your God, and Yahweh has chosen you to be a people for his own possession, more than all peoples that are on the surface of the earth.
3 ಅಸಹ್ಯವಾದ ಯಾವುದನ್ನಾದರೂ ತಿನ್ನಬಾರದು.
You must not eat any abominable thing.
4 ನೀವು ತಿನ್ನಬಹುದಾದ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳು ಯಾವವಂದರೆ: ಎತ್ತು, ಕುರಿ, ಮೇಕೆ,
These are the animals that you may eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat,
5 ದುಪ್ಪಿ, ಜಿಂಕೆ, ಸಾರಂಗ, ಕಾಡುಮೇಕೆ, ಚಿಗರಿ, ಕಡವೆ, ಕೊಂಡಗುರಿ ಇವುಗಳೇ.
the deer, the gazelle, the roebuck, the wild goat, and ibex, and the antelope, and the mountain sheep.
6 ಯಾವ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಯ ಕಾಲ್ಗೊರಸು ಸೀಳಿದೆಯೋ, ಅದು ಮೆಲುಕು ಹಾಕುವಂಥಾದ್ದಾದರೆ ಅದರ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನಬಹುದು.
You may eat any animals that parts the hoof, that is, that has the hoof divided in two, and that chews the cud.
7 ಆದರೆ ಯಾವ ಪ್ರಾಣಿ ಮೆಲುಕು ಹಾಕಿದರೂ ಗೊರಸು ಸೀಳಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ ಮತ್ತು ಯಾವ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಯ ಗೊರಸು ಸೀಳಿದ್ದರೂ ಮೆಲುಕು ಹಾಕುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ ಅವುಗಳ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ನೀವು ತಿನ್ನಬಾರದು. ಉದಾಹರಣೆಗೆ, ಒಂಟೆ, ಮೊಲ, ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಮೊಲ ಇವು ಮೆಲುಕು ಹಾಕುವಂಥವುಗಳಾದರೂ, ಸೀಳುಗೊರಸು ಇಲ್ಲವಾದದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವು ನಿಮಗೆ ಅಶುದ್ಧ.
Nevertheless, you must not eat some animals that chew the cud or that have the hoof divided in two: the camel, the rabbit, and the rock badger; because they chew the cud but do not part the hoof, they are unclean to you.
8 ಹಂದಿಯನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನಬಾರದು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅದು ಗೊರಸು ಸೀಳಿದ್ದರೂ ಮೆಲುಕು ಹಾಕುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಅದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಅಶುದ್ಧವೇ. ಅವುಗಳ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ನೀವು ತಿನ್ನಬಾರದು, ಅವುಗಳ ಹೆಣವನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟಬಾರದು.
The pig is unclean to you as well because he parts the hoof but does not chew the cud; he is unclean to you. Do not eat pig meat, and do not touch their carcasses.
9 ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾಳುವ ಎಲ್ಲವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂದರೆ ನೀವು ಈಜು ರೆಕ್ಕೆಗಳುಳ್ಳ ಮತ್ತು ಪೊರೆ ಇರುವವುಗಳನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನಬಹುದು.
Of these things that are in water you may eat: whatever has fins and scales;
10 ಆದರೆ ರೆಕ್ಕಗಳೂ ಪೊರೆಗಳೂ ಇಲ್ಲದವುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ತಿನ್ನಬಾರದು. ಅವು ನಿಮಗೆ ಅಶುದ್ಧ.
but whatever has no fins and scales you must not eat; they are unclean to you.
11 ಶುದ್ಧವಾದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನಬಹುದು.
All clean birds you may eat.
12 ಪಕ್ಷಿ ಜಾತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ತಿನ್ನಬಾರದವುಗಳು ಯಾವುವೆಂದರೆ: ಗರುಡ, ಬೆಟ್ಟದಹದ್ದು, ಕಪ್ಪು ರಣಹದ್ದು,
But these are the birds that you must not eat: the eagle, the vulture, the osprey,
13 ಗಿಡುಗ, ಹಕ್ಕಿಸಾಲೆ, ಸಕಲವಿಧವಾದ ಹದ್ದು,
the red kite and black kite, any kind of falcon.
14 ಸಕಲವಿಧವಾದ ಕಾಗೆ,
You must not eat any kind of raven,
15 ಉಷ್ಟ್ರಪಕ್ಷಿ, ಉಲೂಕ, ಚೀರು ಗೂಬೆ, ಕಡಲ ಹಕ್ಕಿ, ಸಕಲವಿಧವಾದ ಡೇಗೆ,
and the ostrich, and the night hawk, the sea gull, any kind of hawk,
16 ಸಣ್ಣ ಗೂಬೆ, ದೊಡ್ಡ ಗೂಬೆ, ಬಿಳಿಗೂಬೆ,
the little owl, the great owl, the white owl,
17 ಮರಳುಗಾಡು ಗೂಬೆ, ರಣಹದ್ದು, ನೀರು ಕೋಳಿ,
the pelican, the carrion vulture, the cormorant.
18 ಕೊಕ್ಕರೆ, ನೀರುಕಾಗೆ, ಸಕಲವಿಧವಾದ ಬಕ, ಹೆಡೆಹಕ್ಕಿ ಮತ್ತು ಬಾವಲಿ.
You must not eat the stork, any kind of heron, the hoopoe, and the bat.
19 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಹಾರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕ್ರಿಮಿಕೀಟಗಳು ನಿಮಗೆ ಅಶುದ್ಧವೇ. ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನಬಾರದು.
All winged, swarming things are unclean to you; they must not be eaten.
20 ಶುದ್ಧವಾದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ರೆಕ್ಕೆ ಉಳ್ಳ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನಬಹುದು.
You may eat all clean flying things.
21 ತಾನೇ ಸತ್ತ ಯಾವುದನ್ನೂ ತಿನ್ನಬಾರದು. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಊರಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅನ್ಯನಿಗೆ ತಿನ್ನಲು ಕೊಡಬಹುದು ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಪರದೇಶದವನಿಗೆ ಮಾರಬಹುದು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ಜನರೇ. ಮೇಕೆಯ ಮರಿಯನ್ನು ಅದರ ತಾಯಿಯ ಹಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕುದಿಸಬಾರದು.
You must not eat of anything that dies of itself; you may give it to the foreigner who is within your towns, that he may eat it; or you may sell it to a foreigner. For you are a nation that is set apart to Yahweh your God. You must not boil a young goat in its mother's milk.
22 ನೀವು ಬಿತ್ತುವ ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿ ವರ್ಷ ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುವ ಹುಟ್ಟುವಳಿಯಿಂದ ದಶಮಾಂಶವನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪದೆ ಕೊಡಬೇಕು.
You must surely tithe all the yield of your seed, that which comes out from the field year after year.
23 ನಿಮ್ಮ ಧಾನ್ಯ, ಹೊಸ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸ, ಓಲಿವ್ ಎಣ್ಣೆಗಳ ದಶಮಾಂಶವನ್ನೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದನಕುರಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಚೊಚ್ಚಲುಗಳನ್ನೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ದೇವರೇ ಆಯ್ದುಕೊಂಡ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ತಿನ್ನಬೇಕು. ಇದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಎಂದೆಂದಿಗೂ ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿ ಇರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಲಿಯುವಿರಿ.
You must eat before Yahweh your God, in the place that he will choose as his sanctuary, the tithe of your grain, of your new wine, and of your oil, and the firstborn of your herd and your flock; that you may learn to always honor Yahweh your God.
24 ನೀವು ಕಾಣಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಮಗೆ ದಾರಿ ದೂರವಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ, ಅಥವಾ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಆಯ್ದುಕೊಂಡ ಸ್ಥಳವು ನಿಮಗೆ ದೂರವಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸಿದ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ,
If the journey is too long for you so that you are not able to carry it, because the place that Yahweh your God will choose as his sanctuary is too far from you, then, when Yahweh God blesses you,
25 ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾರಿ ಹಣವನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾರ್ಪಡಿಸಿ, ಆ ಹಣವನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಆಯ್ದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿರಿ.
you will convert the offering into money, tie up the money in your hand, and go to the place that Yahweh your God will choose.
26 ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಇಷ್ಟಾನುಸಾರ ದನ, ಕುರಿ, ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸ, ಮದ್ಯ, ಮೊದಲಾದವುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಣದಿಂದ ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಂಡು ನೀವೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಯವರೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಊರಿನ ಲೇವಿಯರೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಊಟಮಾಡಿ, ಸಂತೋಷವಾಗಿರಬೇಕು.
There you will spend the money for whatever you desire: for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatever you desire; you will eat there before Yahweh your God, and you will rejoice, you and your household.
27 ನಿಮ್ಮ ಊರುಗಳಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಲೇವಿಯರನ್ನು ಕೈಬಿಡಬಾರದು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ಪಾಲೂ, ಸೊತ್ತೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.
The Levite who is within your gates—do not forsake him, for he has no portion nor inheritance with you.
28 ಪ್ರತಿ ಮೂರು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಅಂತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯಾ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ ಹುಟ್ಟುವಳಿಯ ದಶಮಭಾಗವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹೊರಗೆ ತಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಊರಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಕೂಡಿಸಬೇಕು.
At the end of every three years you will present all the tithe of your produce in the same year, and you will store it up within your gates;
29 ಆಗ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ಪಾಲನ್ನೂ, ಸೊತ್ತನ್ನೂ ಹೊಂದದ ಲೇವಿಯರೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಊರಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅನ್ಯದೇಶದವರೂ, ದಿಕ್ಕಿಲ್ಲದವರೂ, ವಿಧವೆಯರೂ ಬಂದು ತಿಂದು ತೃಪ್ತರಾಗಲಿ. ಆಗ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನೂ, ನೀವು ಮಾಡುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಗಳನ್ನೂ ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸುವರು.
and the Levite, because he has no portion nor inheritance with you, and the foreigner, and the fatherless, and the widow who are within your gates, will come and eat and be satisfied. Do this so that Yahweh your God may bless you in all the work of your hand that you do.
