ದಾನಿಯೇಲನು 6
1 ದಾರ್ಯಾವೆಷನು ತನ್ನ ರಾಜ್ಯಭಾರವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ನೂರಿಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಉಪರಾಜರನ್ನು ಆಯಾ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಆಯಾ ಭಾಗಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಆಳಲು ಇರಿಸಿದನು.
And it pleased Darius, and he set over the kingdom a hundred and twenty satraps, to be in all his kingdom;
2 ಇವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಮೂವರು ದೇಶಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸುವುದು ದಾರ್ಯಾವೆಷನಿಗೆ ಹಿತವೆಂದು ತೋಚಿತು. ಇದರಿಂದ ರಾಜನಿಗೆ ಯಾವ ನಷ್ಟವಾಗದಂತೆ ಲೆಕ್ಕ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಇವರಲ್ಲಿ ದಾನಿಯೇಲನು ಒಬ್ಬನಾಗಿದ್ದನು.
and over them three governors, of whom one was, Daniel; for the satraps to give account to them, that the king should not be troubled.
3 ಈ ದಾನಿಯೇಲನಲ್ಲಿ ಉತ್ತಮ ಯೋಗ್ಯತೆಗಳು ಇದ್ದುದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಉಪರಾಜರಿಗಿಂತಲೂ, ದೇಶಾಧಿಪತಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠನಾಗಿದ್ದನು. ಈ ಕಾರಣದಿಂದ ಅರಸನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಸಮಸ್ತ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ನೇಮಿಸಲು ಉದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿದ್ದನು.
And Daniel was over them, for [there was] an excellent spirit in him; and the king set him over all his kingdom.
4 ಹೀಗಿರಲು ಉಪರಾಜರೂ, ದೇಶಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳೂ ರಾಜ್ಯಭಾರದ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ದಾನಿಯೇಲನ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ತಪ್ಪು ಹೊರಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂದರ್ಭ ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತನಾಗಿದ್ದು ಅವನಲ್ಲಿ ತಪ್ಪು ನಿರ್ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯತೆ ಇಲ್ಲದಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಯಾವ ತಪ್ಪೂ ಸಿಗಲಾರದೆ ಹೋಯಿತು.
Then the governors and satraps sought to find occasion against Daniel; but they found against him no occasion, nor trespass, nor error, because he was faithful.
5 ಆಗ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು, “ಈ ದಾನಿಯೇಲನ ಮೇಲೆ ತಪ್ಪು ಹೊರಿಸಬೇಕಾದರೆ ಇವನ ದೇವರ ಹಾಗೂ ಧರ್ಮದ ಮೂಲಕವೇ ಹೊರತು ಇನ್ನಾವುದರಲ್ಲೂ ನಮಗೆ ಅವಕಾಶ ದೊರಕದು,” ಎಂದುಕೊಂಡರು.
And the governors said, We shall not find occasion against Daniel, except in the ordinances of his God.
6 ಆಗ ಉಪರಾಜರೂ, ದೇಶಾಧಿಪತಿಯೂ ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡಿಬಂದು, “ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾರ್ಯಾವೆಷನೇ, ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಬಾಳು.
Then the governors and satraps stood by the king, and said to him, King Darius, live for ever.
7 ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದೇಶಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳೂ, ರಾಜ್ಯಪಾಲರೂ, ನಾಯಕರೂ, ಉಪರಾಜರೂ, ಆಲೋಚನೆಗಾರರೂ ಒಟ್ಟುಗೂಡಿ ಆಲೋಚಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ ಅರಸನೇ, ಯಾರಾದರೂ ಮೂವತ್ತು ದಿವಸಗಳವರೆಗೂ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬೇರೆ ಯಾವ ದೇವರಿಗಾಗಲಿ, ಮನುಷ್ಯರಿಗಾಗಲಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾದರೆ ಅಂಥವರು ಸಿಂಹಗಳ ಗವಿಗೆ ಹಾಕಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂಬ ರಾಜಾಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ವಿಧಿಸಿ, ಸ್ಥಿರ ಕಟ್ಟಳೆಯನ್ನು ಕೊಡತಕ್ಕದ್ದು.
All who preside over your kingdom, captains and satraps, chiefs and local governors, have taken counsel together, to establish by a royal statue and to confirm a decree, that whoever shall ask a petition of any god or man for thirty days, save of you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions.
8 ರಾಜನೇ, ಈಗ ನೀನು ಈ ನಿಬಂಧನೆಯನ್ನು ವಿಧಿಸಿ, ಇದು ಬದಲಾಗದ ಮೇದ್ಯರ ಮತ್ತು ಪಾರಸಿಯರ ನಿಯಮಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಇದು ರದ್ದಾಗದಂತೆ ನಿರ್ಣಯವನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸಿ, ಶಾಸನಕ್ಕೆ ರುಜುಹಾಕು,” ಎಂದು ವಿನಂತಿಸಿದರು.
Now then, O king, establish the decree, and publish a writ, that the decree of the Persians and Medes be not changed.
9 ಆದಕಾರಣ ದಾರ್ಯಾವೆಷನು ಆ ಬರಹಕ್ಕೂ, ನಿರ್ಣಯಕ್ಕೂ ರುಜು ಹಾಕಿದನು.
Then king Darius commanded the decree to be written.
10 ಶಾಸನಕ್ಕೆ ರುಜು ಹಾಕಿದ್ದಾಯಿತೆಂದು ದಾನಿಯೇಲನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಾಗ, ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೋದನು. ಅವನ ಕೋಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಿಟಕಿಗಳು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ತೆರೆದಿರಲು, ಅವನು ಮೊದಲು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ದಿನಕ್ಕೆ ಮೂರು ಸಾರಿ ಮೊಣಕಾಲೂರಿ ತನ್ನ ದೇವರ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯನ್ನೂ, ಸ್ತೋತ್ರವನ್ನೂ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದನು.
And when Daniel knew that the decree was ordered, he went into his house; and his windows were opened in his chambers toward Jerusalem, and three times in the day he knelt upon his knees, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he used to do before.
11 ಆಮೇಲೆ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕೂಡಿಬಂದು ದಾನಿಯೇಲನು ತನ್ನ ದೇವರ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯನ್ನೂ, ವಿಜ್ಞಾಪನೆಯನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡರು.
Then these men watched, and found Daniel praying and supplicating to his God.
12 ಅನಂತರ ಅವರು ಅರಸನ ಮುಂದೆ ಬಂದು ರಾಜಾಜ್ಞೆಯ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ: “ಅರಸನೇ ಯಾರಾದರೂ ಮೂವತ್ತು ದಿವಸಗಳವರೆಗೂ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬೇರೆ ಯಾವ ದೇವರಿಗಾಗಲಿ, ಮನುಷ್ಯರಿಗಾಗಲಿ ವಿಜ್ಞಾಪನೆ ಮಾಡುವರೋ, ಅವರನ್ನು ಸಿಂಹದ ಗವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂಬ ಶಾಸನಕ್ಕೆ ನೀನು ರುಜು ಹಾಕಲಿಲ್ಲವೇ?” ಎಂದರು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅರಸನು ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ, “ಮೇದ್ಯ, ಪಾರಸಿಯರ ಬದಲಾಗದಂಥ ಧರ್ಮವಿಧಿಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಅದು ಸ್ಥಿರವಾದ ನಿಬಂಧನೆ” ಎಂದನು.
And they came and said to the king, O king, has you not made a decree, that whatever man shall ask a petition of any god or man for thirty days, but of you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions? And the king said, The word is true, and the decree of the Medes and Persians shall not pass.
13 ಆಗ ಅವರು ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಅರಸನ ಮುಂದೆ, “ಯೆಹೂದದ ಸೆರೆಯ ಮಕ್ಕಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನಾದ ಆ ದಾನಿಯೇಲನು ಅರಸನಾದ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನಾದರೂ, ನೀನು ರುಜು ಹಾಕಿದ ನಿರ್ಣಯವನ್ನೂ ಲಕ್ಷಿಸದೆ, ದಿನಕ್ಕೆ ಮೂರು ಸಾರಿ ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ,” ಎಂದರು.
Then they answered and said before the king, Daniel of the children of the captivity of Judea, has not submitted to your decree; and three times in the day he makes his requests of his God.
14 ಅರಸನು ಯಾವಾಗ ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದನೋ, ಆಗ ತನ್ನಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಬೇಸರಗೊಂಡು ದಾನಿಯೇಲನನ್ನು ಅದರಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ತನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಳಿದು, ಸೂರ್ಯಾಸ್ತಮಾನದವರೆಗೂ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಪಟ್ಟನು.
Then the king, when he heard the saying, was much grieved for Daniel and he greatly exerted himself for Daniel to deliver him: and he exerted himself till evening to deliver him.
15 ಆಗ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕೂಡಿಬಂದು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ, “ಅರಸನೇ, ನೀನು ಜಾರಿಗೆ ತಂದಿರುವ ಯಾವ ನಿರ್ಣಯವಾದರೂ, ಆಜ್ಞೆಯಾದರೂ ರದ್ದಾಗಬಾರದು ಎಂಬ ಮೇದ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಪಾರಸಿಯರ ನಿಯಮದಲ್ಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ನಿನಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿರಬೇಕು,” ಎಂದರು.
Then those men said to the king, Know, O king, that the law of the Medes and Persians is that we must not change any decree of statue which the king shall make.
16 ಆಗ ರಾಜನು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಲು, ಅವರು ದಾನಿಯೇಲನನ್ನು ತಂದು ಸಿಂಹದ ಗುಹೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿದರು. ಅರಸನು ದಾನಿಯೇಲನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಸೇವಿಸುವ ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡಲಿ!” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. But the king said to Daniel, Your God whom you serve continually, he will deliver you.
17 ಗುಹೆಯ ಬಾಯಿಯನ್ನು ಬಂಡೆಯಿಂದ ಮುಚ್ಚಲಾಯಿತು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ದಾನಿಯೇಲನ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯು ಬದಲಾಗದ ಹಾಗೆ ಅರಸನು ತನ್ನ ಮುದ್ರೆಯನ್ನೂ, ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಧಾನರ ಮುದ್ರೆಯನ್ನೂ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾಕಿದನು.
And they brought a stone, and put it on the mouth of the den; and the king sealed [it] with his ring, and with the ring of his nobles; that the case might not be altered with regard to Daniel.
18 ಆಮೇಲೆ ಅರಸನು ತನ್ನ ಅರಮನೆಗೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ, ಉಪವಾಸದಿಂದಲೇ ರಾತ್ರಿಯನ್ನು ಕಳೆದನು. ಗಾನ, ವಾದ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಅವನ ಮುಂದೆ ತರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ನಿದ್ರೆ ಬರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
And the king departed to his house, and lay down fasting, and they brought him no food; and his sleep departed from him. But God shut the mouths of the lions, and they not molest Daniel.
19 ಮುಂಜಾನೆಗೆ ಮೊದಲೇ ಅರಸನು ಎದ್ದು, ತ್ವರೆಯಾಗಿ ಸಿಂಹಗಳ ಗವಿಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದನು.
Then the king arose very early in the morning, and came in have to the den of lions.
20 ಅವನು ಗವಿಯ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಬಂದಾಗ, ದುಃಖದ ಧ್ವನಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದಾನಿಯೇಲನನ್ನು ಕೂಗಿದನು. ಅರಸನು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ದಾನಿಯೇಲನಿಗೆ, “ಜೀವಸ್ವರೂಪರಾದ ದೇವರ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ದಾನಿಯೇಲನೇ, ನೀನು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಸೇವಿಸುವ ಆ ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಸಿಂಹಗಳಿಂದ ಬಿಡಿಸಿ ಕಾಪಾಡಲು ಸಮರ್ಥರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆಯೇ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
And when he drew near to the den, he cried with a loud voice, Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lion's mouth?
21 ಆಗ ದಾನಿಯೇಲನು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ, “ಅರಸನೇ, ನೀನು ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಬಾಳು.
And Daniel said to the king, O king, live for ever.
22 ನನ್ನ ದೇವರು ತಮ್ಮ ದೂತನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ, ನನಗೆ ಯಾವ ಹಾನಿಯೂ ಆಗದಂತೆ ಸಿಂಹಗಳ ಬಾಯಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿಹಾಕಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವರ ಮುಂದೆ ನಾನು ಯಥಾರ್ಥನೆಂದು ಗೋಚರವಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಅರಸನೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆಯೂ ಸಹ ನಾನು ಯಾರಿಗೂ ತಪ್ಪನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
My God has sent his angel, and stopped the lions' mouths, and they have not hurt me: for uprightness was found in me before him; and moreover before you, O king, I have committed no trespass.
23 ಆಗ ಅರಸನು ಅವನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಳ ಸಂತೋಷಪಟ್ಟು, ದಾನಿಯೇಲನನ್ನು ಗುಹೆಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆತ್ತಬೇಕೆಂದು ಆಜ್ಞೆಮಾಡಿದನು. ದಾನಿಯೇಲನನ್ನು ಗುಹೆಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆತ್ತಿದರು. ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ದೇವರಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನು ದೃಢವಾದ ಭರವಸೆ ಇಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಯಾವ ಹಾನಿಯೂ ಆಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
Then the king was very glad for him, and he commanded to bring Daniel out of the den. So Daniel was brought out of the den, and there was found no hurt upon him, because he believed in his God.
24 ಆಗ ಅರಸನು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಲಾಗಿ, ದಾನಿಯೇಲನ ಮೇಲೆ ತಪ್ಪು ಹೊರಿಸಿದ್ದ ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ತಂದು ಅವರನ್ನೂ, ಅವರ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ಸಿಂಹಗಳ ಗುಹೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿದರು. ಅವರು ಗುಹೆಯ ತಳವನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೊದಲೇ ಸಿಂಹಗಳು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಾರಿ ಬಂದು, ಅವರ ಎಲುಬುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ತುಂಡುತುಂಡಾಗಿ ಮುರಿದುಹಾಕಿದವು.
And the king commanded, and they brought the men that had accused Daniel, and they were cast into the den of lions, they, and their children, and their wives: and they reached not the bottom of the den before the lions had the mastery of them, and utterly broke to pieces all their bones.
25 ಆಗ ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾರ್ಯಾವೆಷನು ಭೂಲೋಕದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲೂ ವಾಸವಾಗಿರುವ ಸಕಲ ಪ್ರಜೆ, ಜನಾಂಗ, ಭಾಷೆಗಳವರೆಗೆ ಬರೆದದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ, “ನೀವು ಅಪಾರವಾಗಿ ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿಗೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ.
Then king Darius wrote to all nations, tribes, [and] languages, who dwell in all the earth, [saying], Peace be multiplied to you.
26 “ನನ್ನ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ದಾನಿಯೇಲನ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ನಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂಬ ನಿರ್ಣಯ ಹೊರಡಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
This decree has been set forth by me in every dominion of my kingdom, that [men] tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he is the living and eternal God, and his kingdom shall not be destroyed, and his dominion is for ever.
27 ಅವರೇ ಉದ್ಧರಿಸುವವರೂ ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವವರೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದು,
He helps and delivers, and works signs and wonders in the heaven and on the earth, who has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions.
28 ಹೀಗೆ ದಾನಿಯೇಲನು ದಾರ್ಯಾವೆಷನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಪಾರಸಿಯನಾದ ಕೋರೆಷನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸಮೃದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಬಾಳಿದನು.
And Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.
