ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲರ ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳ 1
1 ಥೆಯೊಫಿಲನೇ, ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ನನ್ನ ಮೊದಲನೆಯ ಗ್ರಂಥದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೇಸು ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಬೋಧಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದ್ದೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಕುರಿತು ನಿಮಗೆ ಬರೆದಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
The first account I wrote, Theophilus, concerned all that Jesus began both to do and to teach,
2 ಅಂದರೆ, ಯೇಸು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲರಿಗೆ ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮ ದೇವರ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ ದಿನ ಮೊದಲುಗೊಂಡು ಸ್ವರ್ಗಕ್ಕೆ ಏರಿಹೋಗುವ ದಿನದವರೆಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಬರೆದಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
until the day in which he was received up, after he had given commandment through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen.
3 ಯೇಸು ಬಾಧೆಪಟ್ಟು ಸತ್ತ ನಂತರ, ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗುತ್ತಾ ತಾವು ಜೀವಂತವಾಗಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಅನೇಕ ನಿಶ್ಚಿತ ರುಜುವಾತುಗಳಿಂದ ತೋರಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟರು ಮತ್ತು ನಲವತ್ತು ದಿನಗಳ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
To these he also showed himself alive after he suffered, by many proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days, and speaking about God's Kingdom.
4 ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಯೇಸು ಶಿಷ್ಯರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಊಟಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗಬೇಡಿರಿ, ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದಂತೆ ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆ ವಾಗ್ದಾನ ಮಾಡಿರುವ ವರಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕಾದುಕೊಂಡಿರಿ.
Being assembled together with them, he commanded them, "Do not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which you heard from me.
5 ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಯೋಹಾನನಾದರೋ ನೀರಿನಿಂದ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು. ಆದರೆ ಇನ್ನು ಕೆಲವೇ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮ ದೇವರಿಂದ ನೀವು ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಪಡೆಯುವಿರಿ,” ಎಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದರು.
For John indeed baptized in water, but you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit not many days from now."
6 ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದಾಗ, “ಸ್ವಾಮೀ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ಈ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಪುನಃ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸುವಿಯೋ?” ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
Therefore, when they had come together, they asked him, "Lord, are you now restoring the kingdom to Israel?"
7 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೇಸು: “ತಂದೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವಂತ ಅಧಿಕಾರದಿಂದ ನೇಮಿಸಿದ ಸಮಯವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಕಾಲವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ತಿಳಿಯುವುದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕೆಲಸವಲ್ಲ.
He said to them, "It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has set within his own authority.
8 ಆದರೆ ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮ ದೇವರು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ನೀವು ಶಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುವಿರಿ. ಆಗ ನೀವು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ, ಯೂದಾಯ ಪ್ರಾಂತ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಾರ್ಯ ಪ್ರಾಂತದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಡೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಹಾಗೂ ಭೂಲೋಕದ ಕೊನೆಯ ಮೇರೆಗಳವರೆಗೂ ನನಗೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಗಳಾಗುವಿರಿ,” ಎಂದರು.
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the farthest part of the earth."
9 ಇದನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದ ತರುವಾಯ, ಯೇಸು ಅವರ ಕಣ್ಣೆದುರಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಸ್ವರ್ಗಕ್ಕೆ ಏರಿಹೋದರು. ಮೋಡವು ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಅವರ ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಮರೆಮಾಡಿತು.
When he had said these things, as they were looking, he was taken up, and a cloud took him out of their sight.
10 ಯೇಸು ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರಲು ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಆಕಾಶದ ಕಡೆಗೆ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿ ನೋಡುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ, ಬಿಳಿವಸ್ತ್ರ ಧರಿಸಿದ್ದ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಪುರುಷರು ಅವರ ಪಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡು,
While they were looking steadfastly into the sky as he went, look, two men stood by them in white clothing,
11 “ಗಲಿಲಾಯದವರೇ, ಆಕಾಶವನ್ನೇ ನೋಡುತ್ತಾ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಏಕೆ ನಿಂತಿರುವಿರಿ? ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ಪರಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಏರಿಹೋದ ಈ ಯೇಸುವು ಪರಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುವುದನ್ನು ನೀವು ನೋಡಿದ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಬರುವರು,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
who also said, "You men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who was received up from you into the sky will come back in the same way as you saw him going into the sky."
12 ಅನಂತರ ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲರು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಸಮೀಪದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಓಲಿವ್ ಗುಡ್ಡದಿಂದ ಇಳಿದು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಹೋದರು. ಅದು ಸಬ್ಬತ್ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಮಾಡುವಷ್ಟು ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿತ್ತು.
Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mountain called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day's journey away.
13 ಅವರು ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿದಾಗ, ತಾವು ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಮಾಳಿಗೆ ಮೇಲಿನ ಕೋಣೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಹೋದರು. ಅವರು ಯಾರಾರೆಂದರೆ: ಪೇತ್ರ, ಯೋಹಾನ, ಯಾಕೋಬ, ಅಂದ್ರೆಯ; ಫಿಲಿಪ್ಪ, ತೋಮ; ಬಾರ್ತೊಲೊಮಾಯ ಮತ್ತಾಯ; ಅಲ್ಫಾಯನ ಮಗ ಯಾಕೋಬ, ದೇಶಾಭಿಮಾನಿ ಸೀಮೋನ ಮತ್ತು ಯಾಕೋಬನ ಮಗ ಯೂದ.
When they had come in, they went up into the upper room, where they were staying; that is Peter, John, James, Andrew, Philip, Thomas, Bartholomew, Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon the Zealot, and Judas the son of James.
14 ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವು ಮಹಿಳೆಯರು, ಯೇಸುವಿನ ತಾಯಿ ಮರಿಯಳು, ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಸಹೋದರರು, ಇವರೆಲ್ಲರು ನಿತ್ಯವೂ ಏಕಮನಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರತರಾಗಿ ಸೇರುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
All these with one accord continued steadfastly in prayer, along with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.
15 ಆ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು ನೂರಿಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಿಗಳು ಸೇರಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರ ನಡುವೆ ಪೇತ್ರನು ಎದ್ದು ನಿಂತು, ಹೀಗೆಂದನು:
In these days, Peter stood up in the midst of the brothers (and the number of names was about one hundred twenty), and said,
16 “ಸಹೋದರ ಸಹೋದರಿಯರೇ, ಬಹಳ ದಿನಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ದಾವೀದನ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮರು ಮುಂತಿಳಿಸಿದ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯ ಯೂದನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ನೆರವೇರಬೇಕಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಯೂದನು ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಬಂಧಿಸಿದವರಿಗೆ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶಕನಾಗಿದ್ದನು.
"Brothers, it was necessary that this Scripture should be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who was guide to those who took Jesus.
17 ಈ ಯೂದನು ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನಾಗಿದ್ದು ಈ ಸೇವೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲುಗಾರನಾಗಿದ್ದನು.”
For he was numbered with us, and received his portion in this ministry.
18 ಯೂದನು, ದ್ರೋಹ ಕೃತ್ಯದಿಂದ ಪಡೆದ ಹಣದಿಂದ ಒಂದು ಹೊಲವನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಂಡನು; ಅಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಅವನು ತಲೆಕೆಳಗಾಗಿ ಬಿದ್ದು, ಹೊಟ್ಟೆ ಬಿರಿದು, ಕರುಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹೊರಬಂದು ಸತ್ತನು.
Now this man obtained a field with the reward for his wickedness, and falling headfirst his body burst open, and all his intestines gushed out.
19 ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರಿಗೂ ಈ ವಿಷಯ ತಿಳಿಯಿತು, ಹೀಗೆ ಆ ಹೊಲವನ್ನು ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ “ಅಕೆಲ್ದಮಾ” ಎಂದು ಕರೆದರು. “ರಕ್ತದ ಹೊಲ” ಎಂದು ಅದರ ಅರ್ಥ.
It became known to everyone who lived in Jerusalem that in their language that field was called 'Hakel-Dema,' that is, 'The field of blood.'
20 ಕೀರ್ತನೆಗಳ ಗ್ರಂಥದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೀಗೆ ಬರೆಯಲಾಗಿದೆ: “‘ಅವನ ವಾಸಸ್ಥಾನವು ಹಾಳಾಗಲಿ, ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರೂ ವಾಸಿಸದಿರಲಿ,’ ಮತ್ತು, “‘ಅವನ ಹುದ್ದೆಯನ್ನು ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ,’
For it is written in the scroll of Psalms, 'Let his habitation be made desolate, and let no one dwell in it;' and, 'Let another take his office.'
21 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಕರ್ತ ಆಗಿರುವ ಯೇಸು ನಮ್ಮೊಂದಿಗೆ ಇದ್ದ ಕಾಲವೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಮ್ಮ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ನಾವು ಆರಿಸಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ. ಅಂಥವನು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸೇವಾ ಸಂಚಾರದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಮ್ಮೊಂದಿಗೆ ಇದ್ದವನಾಗಿರಬೇಕು,
"Of the men therefore who have accompanied us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,
22 ಅಂದರೆ, ಯೋಹಾನನಿಂದ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಪಡೆದ ದಿನದಿಂದ, ಯೇಸು ಸ್ವರ್ಗಕ್ಕೆ ಏರಿಹೋದ ಕಾಲದವರೆಗೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದವನಾಗಿರಬೇಕು.” ಅವನು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಪುನರುತ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕೆ ನಮ್ಮೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿರಬೇಕು.
beginning from the baptism of John, to the day that he was received up from us, of these one must become a witness with us of his resurrection."
23 ಆಗ ಅವರು ಇಬ್ಬರು ಪುರುಷರ ಹೆಸರುಗಳನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸಿದರು: ಬಾರ್ಸಬ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರಿನ ಯೋಸೇಫ, ಇವನನ್ನು ಯೂಸ್ತ ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿಯೂ ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು ಮತ್ತು ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬನು ಮತ್ತೀಯ ಎಂಬುವನು.
They put forward two, Joseph called Barsabbas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.
24 ಆಮೇಲೆ ಅವರು, “ಕರ್ತ ಯೇಸುವೇ, ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನು ನೀವು ತಿಳಿದವರು. ಈ ಸೇವೆಯಿಂದ ಯೂದನು ಭ್ರಷ್ಟನಾಗಿ ತನಗೆ ತಕ್ಕ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ,
They prayed, and said, "You, Lord, who know the hearts of all people, show which one of these two you have chosen
25 ಈ ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲರ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ವಹಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ, ನೀವು ಈ ಇಬ್ಬರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರನ್ನು ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವಿರಿ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ನಮಗೆ ತೋರಿಸಿರಿ,” ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
to take part in this ministry and office of apostle from which Judas turned away to go to his own place."
26 ಅನಂತರ ಅವರು ಚೀಟು ಹಾಕಲು, ಅದು ಮತ್ತೀಯನ ಪಾಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿತು; ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಹನ್ನೊಂದು ಜನ ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದನು.
They drew lots for them, and the lot fell on Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
