ಸಮುವೇಲನು - ದ್ವಿತೀಯ ಭಾಗ 4
1 ಅಬ್ನೇರನು ಹೆಬ್ರೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮರಣ ಹೊಂದಿದನೆಂದು ಸೌಲನ ಮಗ ಈಷ್ಬೋಶೆತನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ, ಅವನು ಧೈರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡನು. ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೆಲ್ಲರು ಕಳವಳಗೊಂಡರು.
When Ishbosheth, Saul's son, heard that Abner was dead in Hebron, his hands became weak, and all Israel was troubled.
2 ಆದರೆ ಸೌಲನ ಮಗನಿಗೆ ಸೇನಾಪತಿಗಳು ಇಬ್ಬರಿದ್ದರು. ಒಬ್ಬನ ಹೆಸರು ಬಾಣನು. ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನ ಹೆಸರು ರೇಕಾಬನು. ಇವರು ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ ಗೋತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇರೋತ್ ಗ್ರಾಮದವನಾದ ರಿಮ್ಮೋನನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಬೇರೋತ್ ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದ ಗ್ರಾಮ.

4 ಸೌಲನ ಮಗ ಯೋನಾತಾನನಿಗೆ ಕಾಲು ಕುಂಟಾದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಗನಿದ್ದನು. ಸೌಲನೂ, ಯೋನಾತಾನನೂ ಮರಣ ಹೊಂದಿದರೆಂಬ ವರ್ತಮಾನ ಇಜ್ರೆಯೇಲ್ ಎಂಬ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಿಂದ ಬಂದಾಗ, ಅವನು ಐದು ವರ್ಷದವನಾಗಿದ್ದನು. ಆಗ ಅವನ ದಾದಿಯು ಅವನನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ಓಡಿ ಹೋದಳು. ಅವಳು ತ್ವರೆಯಾಗಿ ಓಡಿದಾಗ, ಅವನು ಬಿದ್ದು ಕುಂಟನಾದನು. ಅವನ ಹೆಸರು ಮೆಫೀಬೋಶೆತನು.
Now Jonathan, Saul's son, had a son who was crippled in his feet. He was five years old when the news about Saul and Jonathan came from Jezreel. His nurse picked him up to flee. But as she was running, Jonathan's son fell and became lame. His name was Mephibosheth.
5 ಬೇರೋತಿನ ರಿಮ್ಮೋನನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾದ ರೇಕಾಬನೂ, ಬಾಣನೂ ಹೊರಟು ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನದ ಬಿಸಿಲು ಹೊತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಈಷ್ಬೋಶೆತನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಬಂದರು. ಅವನು ಮಂಚದ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಲಗಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು.
So the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, Recab and Baanah, traveled during the heat of the day to the house of Ishbosheth, as he was resting at noon.
6 ಅವರು ಗೋಧಿಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವವರಂತೆ ನಡುಮನೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವನ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಿವಿದರು. ರೇಕಾಬನೂ ಅವನ ಸಹೋದರ ಬಾಣನೂ ಗುಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಒಳಗೆ ಜಾರಿಕೊಂಡರು.
The woman guarding the door had fallen asleep while sifting wheat, and Recab and Baanah walked in quietly and passed her.
7 ಅವರು ಮನೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದಾಗ, ಅರಸನು ಮಲಗುವ ಕೋಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ಹಾಸಿಗೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಲಗಿದ್ದನು. ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದು, ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿ, ತಲೆಯನ್ನು ಕಡಿದು, ಅದನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ರಾತ್ರಿಯೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅರಾಬಾ ತಗ್ಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದರೆ.
So after they entered the house, they attacked him and killed him as he was lying on his bed in his room. Then they cut off his head and carried it away, traveling on the road all night to the Arabah.
8 ಅನಂತರ ಹೆಬ್ರೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ದಾವೀದನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಈಷ್ಬೋಶೆತನ ತಲೆಯನ್ನು ತಂದು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ, “ಇಗೋ, ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿದ ನಿನ್ನ ಶತ್ರುವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಸೌಲನ ಮಗ ಈಷ್ಬೋಶೆತನ ತಲೆಯು. ಈ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಅರಸನಾದ ನಮ್ಮ ಒಡೆಯನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಸೌಲನಿಗೂ, ಅವನ ಸಂತಾನಕ್ಕೂ ಮುಯ್ಯಿ ತೀರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ,” ಎಂದರು.
They brought the head of Ishbosheth to David at Hebron, and they said to the king, “Look, this is the head of Ishbosheth son of Saul, your enemy, who sought your life. Today Yahweh has avenged our master the king against Saul and his descendants.”
9 ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು ಬೇರೋತಿನ ರಿಮ್ಮೋನನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾದ ರೇಕಾಬನಿಗೂ, ಅವನ ಸಹೋದರ ಬಾಣನಿಗೂ ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ, “ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಿನಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ವಿಮೋಚಿಸಿದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಜೀವದಾಣೆ,
David answered Recab and Baanah his brother, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite; he said to them, “As Yahweh lives, who delivered my life from every trouble,
10 ಶುಭವರ್ತಮಾನವನ್ನು ತಂದವನು ನಾನು, ತನ್ನ ವರ್ತಮಾನಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಬಹುಮಾನವನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವೆನೆಂದು ನೆನಸಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು ನನಗೆ, ‘ಇಗೋ, ಸೌಲನು ಮರಣಹೊಂದಿದನು,’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ನಾನು ಚಿಕ್ಲಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮರಣದಂಡನೆಯನ್ನು ವಿಧಿಸಿದೆನು.
when someone told me, 'Look, Saul is dead,' thinking he was bringing good news, I seized him and killed him at Ziklag. That was the reward I gave him for his news.
11 ಹಾಗಾದರೆ, ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ಹಾಸಿಗೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಲಗಿದ್ದ ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿಯನ್ನು ಕೊಲೆಮಾಡಿದ ದುಷ್ಟ ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಕೊಲ್ಲಿಸುವೆನು. ಈಗ ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಅವನ ರಕ್ತ ವಿಚಾರಣೆ ಮಾಡಿ, ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಭೂಮಿಯಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಬಿಡುವೆನು,” ಎಂದನು.
How much more, when wicked men have killed an innocent person in his own house on his bed, should I not now require his blood from your hand, and remove you from the earth?”
12 ದಾವೀದನು ತನ್ನ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಅವರು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿ, ಅವರ ಕೈಕಾಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಡಿದು, ಹೆಬ್ರೋನಿನ ಕೊಳದ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೂಗುಹಾಕಿದರು. ಈಷ್ಬೋಶೆತನ ತಲೆಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ಅದನ್ನು ಹೆಬ್ರೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅಬ್ನೇರನ ಸಮಾಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೂಳಿಟ್ಟರು.
Then David gave orders to the young men, and they killed them and cut off their hands and feet and hung them up beside the pool at Hebron. But they took the head of Ishbosheth and buried it in the grave of Abner in Hebron.
