ಸಮುವೇಲನು - ದ್ವಿತೀಯ ಭಾಗ 2
1 ಇದಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ದಾವೀದನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರನ್ನು, “ಯೆಹೂದದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದಾದರೊಂದು ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಬಹುದೋ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಹೋಗು,” ಎಂದರು. ಅದಕ್ಕವನು, “ನಾನು ಎಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಲಿ?” ಎಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ದೇವರು, “ಹೆಬ್ರೋನಿಗೆ,” ಎಂದರು.
And it comes to pass afterward, that David inquires of YHWH, saying, “Do I go up into one of the cities of Judah?” And YHWH says to him, “Go up.” And David says, “To where do I go up?” And He says, “To Hebron.”
2 ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ದಾವೀದನೂ, ಹಾಗೂ ಅವನ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಹೆಂಡತಿಯರಾದ ಇಜ್ರೆಯೇಲಿನವಳಾಗಿರುವ ಅಹೀನೋವಮಳೂ, ಕರ್ಮೇಲ್ಯನಾದ ನಾಬಾಲನ ವಿಧವೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ಅಬೀಗೈಲಳೂ ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋದರು.
And David goes up there, and also his two wives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail wife of Nabal the Carmelite;
3 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ದಾವೀದನು ತನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಜನರನ್ನೂ, ಅವರವರ ಮನೆಯವರನ್ನೂ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದನು. ಅವರು ಹೆಬ್ರೋನಿನ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
and David has brought up his men who [are] with him—a man and his household—and they dwell in the cities of Hebron.
4 ಆಗ ಯೆಹೂದನ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಹೆಬ್ರೋನಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಯೆಹೂದದವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಅರಸನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಅಭಿಷೇಕ ಮಾಡಿಸಿದರು. ಯಾಬೇಷ್ ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದಿನವರು ಸೌಲನನ್ನು ಸಮಾಧಿಮಾಡಿದರೆಂದು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದಾಗ,
And the men of Judah come, and anoint David there for king over the house of Judah; and they declare to David, saying, “The men of Jabesh-Gilead [are] they who buried Saul.”
5 ದಾವೀದನು ಯಾಬೇಷ್ ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದಿನವರಿಗೆ ದೂತರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ, “ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಯಜಮಾನನಾದ ಸೌಲನಿಗೆ ಈ ದಯೆಯನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಿ, ಅವನನ್ನು ಸಮಾಧಿಮಾಡಿದ ಕಾರಣ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಂದ ನಿಮಗೆ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದವಾಗಲಿ.
And David sends messengers to the men of Jabesh-Gilead and says to them, “Blessed [are] you of YHWH, in that you have done this kindness with your lord, with Saul, that you bury him.
6 ಈಗ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮಗೆ ದಯೆಯನ್ನೂ, ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತಿಕೆಯನ್ನೂ ತೋರಿಸಲಿ. ನೀವು ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುಪಕಾರ ಮಾಡುವೆನು.
And now YHWH does kindness and truth with you, and I also do this good with you because you have done this thing;
7 ನೀವು ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದು, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕೈಗಳು ಬಲವಾಗಿರಲಿ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಯಜಮಾನನಾದ ಸೌಲನು ಮರಣಹೊಂದಿದನು. ಯೆಹೂದನ ಮನೆಯವರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಅರಸನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಅಭಿಷೇಕ ಮಾಡಿದರು,” ಎಂದನು.
and now your hands are strong, and be for sons of valor, for your lord Saul [is] dead, and the house of Judah has also anointed me for king over them.”
8 ಸೌಲನ ಸೈನ್ಯಾಧಿಪತಿಯಾದ ನೇರನ ಮಗನಾಗಿರುವ ಅಬ್ನೇರನು ಸೌಲನ ಮಗ ಈಷ್ಬೋಶೆತನನ್ನು ಮಹನಯಿಮಿಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದನು.
And Abner, son of Ner, head of the host which Saul has, has taken Ish-Bosheth, son of Saul, and causes him to pass over to Mahanaim,
9 ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದ್, ಅಶೂರ್, ಇಜ್ರೆಯೇಲ್, ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮ್, ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ ಜನರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೆಲ್ಲರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಅರಸನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
and causes him to reign over Gilead, and over the Ashurite, and over Jezreel, and over Ephraim, and over Benjamin, and over Israel—all of it.
10 ಸೌಲನ ಮಗ ಈಷ್ಬೋಶೆತನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಆಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದಾಗ, ನಾಲ್ವತ್ತು ವರ್ಷ ಪ್ರಾಯದವನಾಗಿದ್ದು ಎರಡು ವರ್ಷ ಆಳಿದನು. ಆದರೆ ಯೆಹೂದ ಗೋತ್ರದವರು ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿದರು.
Ish-Bosheth son of Saul [is] a son of forty years in his reigning over Israel, and he has reigned [for] two years; only the house of Judah has been after David.
11 ದಾವೀದನು ಹೆಬ್ರೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೂದ ಗೋತ್ರದವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಅರಸನಾಗಿದ್ದ ಕಾಲವು ಏಳು ವರ್ಷ ಆರು ತಿಂಗಳು.
And the number of the days that David has been king in Hebron, over the house of Judah, is seven years and six months.
12 ನೇರನ ಮಗನಾಗಿರುವ ಅಬ್ನೇರನೂ, ಸೌಲನ ಮಗ ಈಷ್ಬೋಶೆತನ ಸೇವಕರೂ ಮಹನಯಿಮಿನಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಗಿಬ್ಯೋನಿಗೆ ಬಂದನು.
And Abner son of Ner goes out, and servants of Ish-Bosheth son of Saul, from Mahanaim to Gibeon.
13 ಚೆರೂಯಳ ಮಗ ಯೋವಾಬನೂ, ದಾವೀದನ ಸೇವಕರೂ ಹೊರಟು ಗಿಬ್ಯೋನಿನ ಕೊಳದ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಅವರು ಕೊಳದ ಆಚೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಇವರು ಕೊಳದ ಈಚೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡರು.
And Joab son of Zeruiah, and servants of David, have gone out, and they meet by the pool of Gibeon together, and sit down, these by the pool on this [side], and these by the pool on that [side].
14 ಆಗ ಅಬ್ನೇರನು ಯೋವಾಬನಿಗೆ, “ಕೆಲವು ಜನ ಯುವಕರು ಎದ್ದು ನಮ್ಮ ಮುಂದೆ ಮುಷ್ಠಿ ಯುದ್ಧ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧಿಸಲಿ,” ಎಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋವಾಬನು, “ಅವರು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಾಡಲಿ,” ಎಂದನು.
And Abner says to Joab, “Now let the youths rise and they play before us”; and Joab says, “Let them rise.”
15 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಸೌಲನ ಮಗ ಈಷ್ಬೋಶೆತನ ಕಡೆಯವನಾದ ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ಮಂದಿಯೂ, ದಾವೀದನ ಸೇವಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ಮಂದಿಯೂ ಎದ್ದು ಹೊರಟುಬಂದು,
And they rise and pass over, in number twelve of Benjamin, even of Ish-Bosheth son of Saul, and twelve of the servants of David.
16 ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬರ ಪಕ್ಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬರು ಖಡ್ಗವನ್ನು ತಿವಿದುದರಿಂದ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಸತ್ತುಬಿದ್ದರು. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಗಿಬ್ಯೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಆ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ “ಹೆಲ್ಕಾತ್ ಹಸ್ಸೂರಿಂ” ಅಂದರೆ, “ಹದಗತ್ತಿ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ” ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಾಯಿತು.
And they each lay hold on the head of his companion, and his sword [is] in the side of his companion, and they fall together, and [one] calls that place Helkath-Hazzurim, which [is] in Gibeon,
17 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ, ಆ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಘೋರವಾದ ಯುದ್ಧವಾಯಿತು. ಅಬ್ನೇರನೂ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೂ ದಾವೀದನ ಸೇವಕರಿಂದ ಸೋತುಹೋದರು.
and the battle is very hard on that day, and Abner is struck, and the men of Israel, before the servants of David.
18 ಚೆರೂಯಳ ಮೂವರು ಮಕ್ಕಳಾದ ಯೋವಾಬನೂ, ಅಬೀಷೈಯನೂ, ಅಸಾಯೇಲನೂ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದರು. ಅಸಾಯೇಲನು ಅಡವಿಯ ಜಿಂಕೆಯ ಹಾಗೆ ಪಾದ ತ್ವರಿತನಾಗಿದ್ದನು.
And there are three sons of Zeruiah there: Joab, and Abishai, and Asahel; and Asahel [is] light on his feet, as one of the roes which [are] in the field,
19 ಅಸಾಯೇಲನು ಅಬ್ನೇರನನ್ನು ಬಲಗಡೆಗಾದರೂ, ಎಡಗಡೆಗಾದರೂ ತಿರುಗದೆ ಬೆನ್ನಟ್ಟಿದನು.
and Asahel pursues after Abner, and has not turned aside to go to the right or to the left, from after Abner.
20 ಆಗ ಅಬ್ನೇರನು ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ನೋಡಿ, “ನೀನು ಅಸಾಯೇಲನು ಅಲ್ಲವೇ?” ಎಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕವನು, “ನಾನೇ,” ಎಂದನು.
And Abner looks behind him and says, “Are you he—Asahel?” And he says, “I [am].”
21 ಆಗ ಅಬ್ನೇರನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಬಲಗಡೆಗಾದರೂ, ಎಡಗಡೆಗಾದರೂ ತಿರುಗು. ಯುವಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಅವನ ಆಯುಧಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೋ,” ಎಂದನು. ಆದರೆ ಅಸಾಯೇಲನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸುವುದನ್ನು ಬಿಡಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ.
And Abner says to him, “Turn aside to your right hand or to your left, and seize one of the youths for yourself, and take his armor for yourself”; and Asahel has not been willing to turn aside from after him.
22 ಅಬ್ನೇರನು ಅಸಾಯೇಲನಿಗೆ, “ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬೆನ್ನಟ್ಟುವುದನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡು, ನಾನು ಏಕೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನೆಲಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊಡೆದು ಕೆಡವಿಬಿಡಬೇಕು? ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಅಣ್ಣನಾದ ಯೋವಾಬನಿಗೆ ಹೇಗೆ ಮುಖ ತೋರಿಸಲಿ?” ಎಂದನು.
And Abner adds again, saying to Asahel, “Turn aside from after me, why do I strike you to the earth? And how do I lift up my face to your brother Joab?”
23 ಆದರೆ ಅಸಾಯೇಲನು ಒಪ್ಪದೆ ಹೋದದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಅಬ್ನೇರನು ತನ್ನ ಭರ್ಜಿಯ ಹಿಂಭಾಗದ ಮೊನೆಯಿಂದ ಅವನ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯೊಳಗೆ ತಿವಿಯಲು, ಅದು ಅವನ ಬೆನ್ನ ಹೊರಗೆ ತೂರಿ ಬಂತು. ಅವನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದು, ಅದೇ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಸತ್ತನು. ಅಸಾಯೇಲನು ಬಿದ್ದು ಸತ್ತ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದವರೆಲ್ಲರು ಅಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ನಿಂತರು.
And he refuses to turn aside, and Abner strikes him with the back part of the spear to the fifth [rib], and the spear comes out from behind him, and he falls there, and dies under it; and it comes to pass, everyone who has come to the place where Asahel has fallen and dies—they stand still.
24 ಆದರೆ ಯೋವಾಬನೂ, ಅಬೀಷೈಯನೂ ಅಬ್ನೇರನನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟಿ, ಸೂರ್ಯ ಆಸ್ತಮಿಸುವವರೆಗೆ ಗಿಬ್ಯೋನಿನ ಮರುಭೂಮಿಯ ಮಾರ್ಗದ ಅಂಚಾದ ಗೀಯಕ್ಕೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿರುವ ಅಮ್ಮಾ ಎಂಬ ಗುಡ್ಡದವರೆಗೆ ಬಂದರು.
And Joab and Abishai pursue after Abner, and the sun has gone in, and they have come to the height of Ammah, which [is] on the front of Giah, the way of the wilderness of Gibeon.
25 ಆಗ ಅಬ್ನೇರನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನನ ಜನರು ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಬಂದು ಸೈನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಕೂಡಿಕೊಂಡು, ಒಂದು ಗುಡ್ಡದ ಶಿಖರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದರು.
And the sons of Benjamin gather themselves together after Abner, and become one troop, and stand on the top of a certain height,
26 ಆಗ ಅಬ್ನೇರನು ಯೋವಾಬನಿಗೆ, “ಖಡ್ಗವು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ನುಂಗಿ ಬಿಡುವುದೋ? ಅಂತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅದು ಕಹಿತನಕ್ಕೆ ನಡೆಸುವುದೆಂದು ನಿನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ತಮ್ಮ ಸಹೋದರರನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟುವುದನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ತಿರುಗುವಂತೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಯಾವಾಗ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸುವೆ?” ಎಂದು ಕೂಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
and Abner calls to Joab and says, “Does the sword consume forever? Have you not known that it is bitterness in the latter end? And until when do you not say to the people to turn back from after their brothers?”
27 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋವಾಬನು, “ದೇವರ ಜೀವದಾಣೆ, ನೀನು ಮಾತನಾಡದೆ ಹೋದರೆ, ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರತಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಉದಯದವರೆಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು,” ಎಂದನು.
And Joab says, “God lives! For unless you had spoken, surely then from the morning each of the people had gone up from after his brother.”
28 ಹೀಗೆ ಯೋವಾಬನು ತುತೂರಿಯನ್ನು ಊದಿದನು. ಆಗ ಸೈನಿಕರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ನಿಂತರು. ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರನ್ನು ಪುನಃ ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಯುದ್ಧವು ನಿಂತಿತು.
And Joab blows with a horn, and all the people stand still, and no longer pursue after Israel, nor have they added to fight anymore.
29 ಅಬ್ನೇರನೂ, ಅವನ ಜನರೂ ಆ ರಾತ್ರಿಯೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅರಾಬಾ ಕಣಿವೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದು, ಯೊರ್ದನನ್ನು ದಾಟಿ, ಬಿಥ್ರೋನ್ ಕಣಿವೆಯನ್ನು ಹಾದು ಮಹನಯಿಮಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು.
And Abner and his men have gone through the plain all that night, and pass over the Jordan, and go on [through] all Bithron, and come to Mahanaim.
30 ಯೋವಾಬನು ಅಬ್ನೇರನ ಹಿಂದಿನಿಂದ ತಿರುಗಿ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಾಗ, ದಾವೀದನ ಸೇವಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಹತ್ತೊಂಬತ್ತು ಜನರೂ, ಅಸಾಯೇಲನೂ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
And Joab has turned back from after Abner, and gathers all the people, and there are lacking of the servants of David nineteen men, and Asahel;
31 ದಾವೀದನ ಸೇವಕರು ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಅಬ್ನೇರನ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಮುನ್ನೂರ ಅರವತ್ತು ಜನರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ಸತ್ತರು.
and the servants of David have struck of Benjamin, even among the men of Abner, three hundred and sixty men—they died.
32 ಅವರು ಅಸಾಯೇಲನನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅವನ ತಂದೆಯ ಸಮಾಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೂಳಿಟ್ಟರು. ಯೋವಾಬನೂ, ಅವನ ಜನರೂ ರಾತ್ರಿಯೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಡೆದು ಉದಯವಾದಾಗ ಹೆಬ್ರೋನಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು.
And they lift up Asahel, and bury him in the burying-place of his father, which [is] in Beth-Lehem, and they go all the night—Joab and his men—and [dawn’s light] shines on them in Hebron.
