ಸಮುವೇಲನು - ದ್ವಿತೀಯ ಭಾಗ 16
1 ದಾವೀದನು ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ತುದಿಯಿಂದ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ದೂರ ಹೋದಾಗ, ಮೆಫೀಬೋಶೆತನ ಸೇವಕ ಚೀಬನು ತಡಿಹಾಕಿದ ಎರಡು ಕತ್ತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು, ಅವನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಂಡನು. ಅವುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಇನ್ನೂರು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳೂ, ಒಣಗಿದ ನೂರು ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿ ಗೊಂಚಲುಗಳೂ, ಬೇಸಿಗೆ ಕಾಲದ ನೂರು ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳೂ, ಒಂದು ಬುದ್ದಲಿ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವೂ ಇದ್ದವು.
When Dauid was a little past the top of the hill, behold, Ziba the seruant of Mephibosheth mette him with a couple of asses sadled, and vpon them two hundreth cakes of bread, and an hundreth bunches of raisins, and an hundreth of dryed figges, and a bottel of wine.
2 ಅರಸನು ಚೀಬನಿಗೆ, “ಇವು ಏಕೆ,” ಎಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಚೀಬನು, “ಕತ್ತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅರಸನ ಮನೆಯವರು ಸವಾರಿಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ, ಆ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳೂ, ಬೇಸಿಗೆ ಕಾಲದ ಫಲಗಳೂ ಜನರಿಗೆ ತಿನ್ನುವುದಕ್ಕೆ, ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವು ಮರುಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದಣಿದವರು ಕುಡಿಯುವುದಕ್ಕೆ,” ಎಂದನು.
And the King said vnto Ziba, What meanest thou by these? And Ziba said, They be asses for the kings housholde to ride on, and bread and dryed figges for the yong men to eate, and wine, that the faint may drinke in the wildernesse.
3 ಆಗ ಅರಸನು ಅವನನ್ನು, “ನಿನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಪುತ್ರನು ಎಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾನೆ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಚೀಬನು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ, “ಅವನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮನೆಯವರು ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಕೊಡುವರೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಂಡನು,” ಎಂದನು.
And the king sayde, But where is thy masters sonne? Then Ziba answered the King, Beholde, he remayneth in Ierusalem: for he sayde, This day shall the house of Israel restore me the kingdome of my father.
4 ಆಗ ಅರಸನು ಚೀಬನಿಗೆ, “ಇಗೋ, ಮೆಫೀಬೋಶೆತನಿಗೆ ಉಂಟಾದದ್ದೆಲ್ಲವೂ ನಿನಗುಂಟಾಯಿತು,” ಎಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಚೀಬನು, “ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನೇ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ದಯೆ ದೊರಕಲಿ ಎಂದು ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇನೆ,” ಎಂದನು.
Then said the King to Ziba, Behold, thine are all that perteined vnto Mephibosheth. And Ziba saide, I beseech thee, let me finde grace in thy sight, my lord, O King.
5 ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾವೀದನು ಬಹುರೀಮಿನವರೆಗೂ ಬಂದಾಗ, ಸೌಲನ ಗೋತ್ರದವನಾದ ಗೇರನ ಮಗ ಶಿಮ್ಮಿ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರುಳ್ಳ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ದೂಷಿಸುತ್ತಾ ನಡೆದು ಬಂದನು.
And when king Dauid came to Bahurim, behold, thence came out a man of the familie of the house of Saul, named Shimei the sonne of Gera: and he came out, and cursed.
6 ದಾವೀದನ ಎಡಬಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೈನಿಕರೂ, ವಿಶೇಷ ಕಾವಲುಗಾರರೂ ಇದ್ದರು. ಆದರೂ ಶಿಮ್ಮಿಯು ದಾವೀದನ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ, ಅವನ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಎಸೆದನು.
And he cast stones at Dauid, and at all the seruants of King Dauid: and all the people, and all the men of warre were on his right hande, and on his left.
7 ಶಿಮ್ಮಿಯು ಅರಸನನ್ನು ದೂಷಿಸುತ್ತಾ, “ಕೊಲೆಗಾರನೇ, ನೀಚನೇ, ಹೊರಟು ಹೋಗು; ಹೊರಟು ಹೋಗು.
And thus sayde Shimei when hee cursed, Come forth, come foorth thou murtherer, and wicked man.
8 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಸೌಲನ ಮನೆಯವರ ರಕ್ತವನ್ನು ಸೌಲನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಯಾಗಿ ಅರಸನಾದ ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಬರಮಾಡಿ, ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟರು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನೀನು ಕೊಲೆಗಾರನಾದುದರಿಂದ, ನಿನ್ನ ಕೇಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನೀನು ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಕೊಂಡೆ,” ಎಂದನು.
The Lord hath brought vpon thee all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose stead thou hast reigned: and the Lord hath deliuered thy kingdome into the hand of Absalom thy sonne: and beholde, thou art taken in thy wickednesse, because thou art a murtherer.
9 ಆಗ ಚೆರೂಯಳ ಮಗ ಅಬೀಷೈಯನು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ, “ಈ ಸತ್ತ ನಾಯಿ, ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನನ್ನು ದೂಷಿಸುವುದೇನು? ನಾನು ದಾಟಿ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವನ ತಲೆಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಆಗಲಿ,” ಎಂದನು.
Then saide Abishai the sonne of Zeruiah vnto the King, Why doeth this dead dog curse my lord the King? let me goe, I pray thee, and take away his head.
10 ಆದರೆ ಅರಸನು, “ಚೆರೂಯಳ ಮಕ್ಕಳೇ, ನನಗೂ ನಿಮಗೂ ಏನು? ಅವನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ದೂಷಿಸಲಿ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ, ‘ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ದೂಷಿಸು,’ ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಹಾಗಾದರೆ, ‘ಏಕೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೀ?’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವವನ್ಯಾರು?” ಎಂದನು.
But the King saide, What haue I to doe with you, ye sonnes of Zeruiah? for he curseth, eue because the Lord hath bidden him curse Dauid: who dare then say, Wherfore hast thou done so?
11 ದಾವೀದನು ಅಬೀಷೈಯನಿಗೂ, ತನ್ನ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೂ, “ನನ್ನ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ನನ್ನ ಮಗನು ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿದರೆ, ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಅಧಿಕವಾಗಿ ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನನಾದವನು ಈಗ ಏನು ಮಾಡಿಯಾನು? ಅವನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡಿರಿ. ಅವನು ದೂಷಿಸಲಿ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
And Dauid sayd to Abishai, and to all his seruants, Beholde, my sonne which came out of mine owne bowels, seeketh my life: then howe much more now may this sonne of Iemini? Suffer him to curse: for the Lord hath bidden him.
12 ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನನ್ನ ಕಷ್ಟವನ್ನು ಕಂಡು, ಈ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಶಾಪಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರತಿಯಾಗಿ, ನನಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಬಹುದು,” ಎಂದನು.
It may be that the Lord will looke on mine affliction, and doe me good for his cursing this day.
13 ದಾವೀದನೂ, ಅವನ ಸೇವಕರೂ ಹಾದಿ ಹಿಡಿದು ಹೋಗುವಾಗ, ಶಿಮ್ಮಿ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಓರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದು, ಅವನಿಗೆದುರಾಗಿ ನಡೆದನು. ಅವನು ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ದೂಷಿಸಿ, ಮಣ್ಣನ್ನು ತೂರಿ, ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳನ್ನು ದಾವೀದನ ಮೇಲೆ ಎಸೆದನು.
And as Dauid and his men went by the way, Shimei went by the side of the mountaine ouer against him, and cursed as he went, and threw stones against him, and cast dust.
14 ಅರಸನೂ, ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಜನರೂ ನಡೆದು ದಣಿದಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶ್ರಮಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು.
Then came the King and all the people that were with him wearie, and refreshed them selues there.
15 ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನೂ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಾದ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಜನರೂ, ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಅಹೀತೋಫೆಲನೂ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು.
And Absalom, and all the people, the men of Israel, came to Ierusalem, and Ahithophel with him.
16 ಅರ್ಕಿಯನಾದ ಹೂಷೈಯು ಎಂಬ ದಾವೀದನ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತನು ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ, ಹೂಷೈ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನಿಗೆ, “ಅರಸನು ಬಾಳಲಿ, ಅರಸನು ಬಾಳಲಿ,” ಎಂದನು.
And when Hushai the Archite Dauids friend was come vnto Absalom, Hushai said vnto Absalom, God saue the King, God saue the King.
17 ಆಗ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನು ಹೂಷೈಯಿಗೆ, “ಸ್ನೇಹಿತನ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿನಗಿದ್ದ ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಇಷ್ಟೇಯೇನು? ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತನ ಸಂಗಡ ಏಕೆ ಹೋಗಲಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದನು.
Then Absalom sayd to Hushai, Is this thy kindenes to thy friend? Why wentest thou not with thy friend?
18 ಹೂಷೈ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನಿಗೆ, “ಹಾಗಲ್ಲ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಈ ಜನರೂ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಮನುಷ್ಯರೂ ಯಾರನ್ನು ಆಯ್ದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವರೋ, ನಾನೂ ಅವನ ಪಕ್ಷದವನಾಗಿರುವೆನು. ನಾನು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವೆನು.
Hushai then answered vnto Absalom, Nay, but whome the Lord, and this people, and all the men of Israel chuse, his will I be, and with him will I dwell.
19 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನಾನು ಯಾರನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸತಕ್ಕದ್ದು? ಅವನ ಮಗನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲ್ಲವೇ? ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಗೆ ಸೇವಿಸಿದೆನೋ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವೆನು,” ಎಂದನು.
And moreouer vnto whome shall I doe seruice? not to his sonne? as I serued before thy father, so will I before thee.
20 ಆಗ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನು ಅಹೀತೋಫೆಲನಿಗೆ, “ನಾವು ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ನೀವು ಯೋಚನೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಹೇಳಿರಿ,” ಎಂದನು.
Then spake Absalom to Ahithophel, Giue counsell what we shall doe.
21 ಅಹೀತೋಫೆಲನು ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನಿಗೆ, “ಮನೆಗೆ ಕಾವಲಿಟ್ಟ ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಉಪಪತ್ನಿಯರ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಲಗು; ಆಗ ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಶತ್ರುವನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದನೆಂದು ಎಲ್ಲ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯುವುದು. ಆಗ ನಿನ್ನ ಜನರ ಕೈಗಳೂ ಬಲವಾಗುವುವು,” ಎಂದನು.
And Ahithophel said vnto Absalom, Goe in to thy fathers concubines, which he hath left to keepe the house: and when all Israel shall heare, that thou art abhorred of thy father, the hands of all that are with thee, shall be strong.
22 ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವರು ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನ ಮನೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಡೇರೆ ಹಾಕಿದರು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನು ಸಮಸ್ತ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳ ಮುಂದೆ ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಉಪಪತ್ನಿಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಲಗಿದನು.
So they spread Absalom a tent vpon the top of the house, and Absalom went in to his fathers concubines in the sight of all Israel.
23 ಆ ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಹೀತೋಫೆಲನು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ ಆಲೋಚನೆಯು ದೇವರನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಇತ್ತು. ಅಹೀತೋಫೆಲನ ಆಲೋಚನೆಗಳನ್ನು ದಾವೀದನೂ, ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನೂ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಗೌರವಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
And the counsell of Ahithophel which he counseled in those dayes, was like as one had asked counsell at the oracle of God: so was all the counsel of Ahithophel both with Dauid and with Absalom.
