ಸಮುವೇಲನು - ದ್ವಿತೀಯ ಭಾಗ 14
1 ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾವೀದನ ಹೃದಯವು ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಇರುವುದನ್ನು ಚೆರೂಯಳ ಮಗ ಯೋವಾಬನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಿತು.
Now Joab the son of Zeruiah perceived that the king's heart [was] towards Absalom.
2 ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಯೋವಾಬನು ತೆಕೋವಗೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ, ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಜ್ಞಾನವುಳ್ಳ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯನ್ನು ಕರಿಸಿ ಅವಳಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಗೋಳಾಡುವವಳ ಹಾಗೆ ನಟಿಸಿ, ದುಃಖ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿಕೋ; ತಲೆಗೆ ಎಣ್ಣೆಯನ್ನು ಹಚ್ಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ, ಸತ್ತವನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಅನೇಕ ದಿವಸಗಳಿಂದ ದುಃಖಿಸುವವಳ ಹಾಗಿದ್ದು,
And Joab sent to Tekoah, and brought thence a wise woman, and said to her, I pray thee, feign thyself to be a mourner, and put on now mourning apparel, and anoint not thyself with oil, but be as a woman that had a long time mourned for the dead:
3 ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಈ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಮಾತನಾಡು,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಯೋವಾಬನು ಅವಳಿಗೆ ಕಲಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
And come to the king, and speak in this manner to him. So Joab put the words in her mouth.
4 ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ತೆಕೋವದ ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ಅರಸನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದಳು. ಮೋರೆ ಕೆಳಗಾಗಿ ನೆಲಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿದ್ದು ವಂದಿಸಿ, “ಅರಸನೇ, ಸಹಾಯಮಾಡು,” ಎಂದಳು.
And when the woman of Tekoah spoke to the king, she fell on her face to the ground, and did obeisance, and said, Help, O king.
5 ಅರಸನು ಅವಳಿಗೆ, “ನಿನಗೆ ಏನಾಯಿತು?” ಎಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕವಳು, “ನಾನು ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ವಿಧವೆಯಾದ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು. ನನ್ನ ಗಂಡನು ಸತ್ತುಹೋಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
And the king said to her, What aileth thee? And she answered, I [am] indeed a widow woman, and my husband is dead.
6 ಆದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕಳಿಗೆ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಪುತ್ರರಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರೂ ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಡೆದಾಡಿದರು. ಅವರನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸುವವರು ಯಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಒಬ್ಬನು ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದನು.
And thy handmaid had two sons, and they two strove together in the field, and [there was] none to part them, but the one smote the other and slew him.
7 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರೆಲ್ಲರು ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕಿಯ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಎದ್ದು, ‘ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದವನನ್ನು ಅವನ ಸಹೋದರನ ಪ್ರಾಣಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಅವನನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಡು, ತಮ್ಮನ ಪ್ರಾಣಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಅವನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಬಿಟ್ಟು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಾಧ್ಯಸ್ಥವಿಲ್ಲದ ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡಿಬಿಡುತ್ತೇವೆ’ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ಅವರು ನನಗೆ ಉಳಿದಿರುವ ಒಂದು ಕೆಂಡವನ್ನು ಆರಿಸಿ, ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ನನ್ನ ಗಂಡನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನೂ, ಸಂತಾನವನ್ನೂ ಅಳಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ,” ಎಂದಳು.
And behold, the whole family hath risen against thy handmaid, and they said, Deliver him that smote his brother, that we may kill him, for the life of his brother whom he slew; and we will destroy the heir also: and so they will quench my coal which is left, and will not leave to my husband [neither] name nor remainder upon the earth.
8 ಆಗ ಅರಸನು ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಗೆ, “ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೋಗು; ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ,” ಎಂದನು.
And the king said to the woman, Go to thy house, and I will give charge concerning thee.
9 ಆದರೆ ತೆಕೋವದ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ, “ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನೇ, ಆ ಅಕ್ರಮವು ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ, ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಮನೆಯ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಇರಲಿ. ಅರಸನೂ, ಅವನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನವೂ ನಿರಪರಾಧವಾಗಿರಲಿ,” ಎಂದಳು.
And the woman of Tekoah said to the king, My lord, O king, the iniquity [be] on me, and on my father's house: and the king and his throne [be] guiltless.
10 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅರಸನು, “ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ನಿನಗೆ ಏನಾದರೂ ಹೇಳಿದರೆ, ಅವನನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಾ. ಅವನು ಇನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಮುಟ್ಟದೆ ಇರುವನು,” ಎಂದನು.
And the king said, Whoever saith [aught] to thee, bring him to me, and he shall not touch thee any more.
11 ಆಕೆ, “ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಮಗನು ಸಾಯದಂತೆ ನಾಶನಕ್ಕೆ ನಾಶನವನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸುವ ಸೇಡುತೀರಿಸುವವರನ್ನು ತಡೆಯಲು ಅರಸನು ತನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ,” ಎಂದಳು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ದಾವೀದನು, “ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಜೀವದಾಣೆ, ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗನ ತಲೆಯ ಕೂದಲಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಾದರೂ ನೆಲಕ್ಕೆ ಬೀಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದನು.
Then said she, I pray thee, let the king remember the LORD thy God, that thou wouldest not suffer the revengers of blood to destroy any more, lest they destroy my son. And he said, [As] the LORD liveth, there shall not one hair of thy son fall to the earth.
12 ಆಗ ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು, “ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನ ಸಂಗಡ ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸಿಯು ಒಂದು ಮಾತನ್ನು ಹೇಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಆಗಬೇಕು,” ಎಂದಳು. ಆಗ ಅವನು, “ಹೇಳು,” ಎಂದನು.
Then the woman said, Let thy handmaid, I pray thee, speak [one] word to my lord the king. And he said, Say on.
13 ಆಗ ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು, “ಹಾಗಾದರೆ, ಏಕೆ ದೇವಜನರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಅಂಥಾ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ನೀನು ನಡೆಸುವುದೇನು? ಅರಸನು ತಾನು ಬಹಿಷ್ಕರಿಸಿದ ಮಗನನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಹೋದದ್ದರಿಂದ, ತನ್ನನ್ನು ತಾನೇ ಅಪರಾಧಿ ಎಂದು ತೀರ್ಪುಮಾಡಿದ ಹಾಗಾಯಿತು.
And the woman said, Why then hast thou thought such a thing against the people of God? for the king doth speak this thing as one who is faulty, in that the king doth not bring home again his banished.
14 ನಾವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಸಾಯುವುದು ಅವಶ್ಯವೇ. ನಾವು ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಚೆಲ್ಲಿ ತಿರುಗಿ ತುಂಬಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗದ ನೀರಿನ ಹಾಗೆ ಇದ್ದೇವೆ. ಆದರೆ ದೇವರು ಹಾಗೆ ಯಾರ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆಯ ಬಯಸುವವರಲ್ಲ. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಬಹಿಷ್ಕಾರವಾದವವರನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರುವಂತೆ ದೇವರು ಸದುಪಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಪಿಸುವವರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
For we must needs die, and [are] as water spilt on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again; neither doth God respect [any] person: yet doth he devise means, that his banished be not expelled from him.
15 “ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಈಗ ಜನರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಭಯಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನಾದ ಅರಸನ ಸಂಗಡ ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸಿಯಾದ ನಾನು ಮಾತಾನಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದೆನು. ‘ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸಿಯಾದ ನಾನು ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಅರಸನು ತನ್ನ ದಾಸಿಯ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ನೆರವೇರಿಸಿಯಾನು.
Now therefore that I have come to speak of this thing to my lord the king, [it is] because the people have made me afraid: and thy handmaid said, I will now speak to the king; it may be that the king will perform the request of his handmaid.
16 ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅರಸನು ಕೇಳಿ ನನ್ನನ್ನೂ, ನನ್ನ ಮಗನನ್ನೂ ದೇವರ ಬಾಧ್ಯತೆಯಲ್ಲಿಂದ ನಾಶಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುವ ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ದಾಸಿಯನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸುವನು,’ ಎಂದುಕೊಂಡೆನು.
For the king will hear, to deliver his handmaid from the hand of the man [that would] destroy me and my son together out of the inheritance of God.
17 “ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸಿಯು, ‘ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನ ಮಾತು ಆದರಣೆಯಾಗಿರಲಿ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನೂ, ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನೂ ಕೇಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನು ದೇವದೂತನ ಹಾಗೆ ಇದ್ದಾನೆ ಮತ್ತು ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇರಲಿ,’ ಎಂದಳು.”
Then thy handmaid said, The word of my lord the king, will now be comfortable: for as an angel of God, so [is] my lord the king to discern good and bad: therefore the LORD thy God will be with thee.
18 ಆಗ ಅರಸನು ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಗೆ, “ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ಕೇಳುವುದನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ಮರೆಮಾಡಬೇಡ,” ಎಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕವಳು, “ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನು ಮಾತನಾಡಲಿ,” ಎಂದಳು.
Then the king answered and said to the woman, Hide not from me, I pray thee, the thing that I shall ask thee. And the woman said, Let my lord the king now speak.
19 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅರಸನು, “ಇದೆಲ್ಲಾದರಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋವಾಬನ ಕೈ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಉಂಟಲ್ಲವೋ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ, “ನಿನ್ನ ಜೀವದಾಣೆ, ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನೇ, ನೀನು ಒಂದು ಮಾತು ಹೇಳಿದರೆ, ನಾವು ಅದನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಎಡಕ್ಕಾದರೂ, ಬಲಕ್ಕಾದರೂ ಜಾರಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ಯೋವಾಬನು ನನಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿ, ಈ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕಳಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
And the king said, [Is not] the hand of Joab with thee in all this? And the woman answered and said, [As] thy soul liveth, my lord the king, none can turn to the right hand or to the left from aught that my lord the king hath spoken: for thy servant Joab, he bade me, and he put all these words in the mouth of thy handmaid:
20 ಈ ಮಾತನ್ನು ರೂಪಕವಾಗಿ ತಿರುಗಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ಯೋವಾಬನು ಇದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಆದರೆ ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವುದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ದೇವದೂತನ ಜ್ಞಾನದ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನು ಜ್ಞಾನವುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ,” ಎಂದಳು.
To bring about this form of speech hath thy servant Joab done this thing: and my lord [is] wise, according to the wisdom of an angel of God, to know all [things] that [are] on the earth.
21 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅರಸನು ಯೋವಾಬನಿಗೆ, “ನಾನು ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದೆನು. ನೀನು ಹೋಗಿ ಯೌವನಸ್ಥನಾದ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಾ,” ಎಂದನು.
And the king said to Joab, Behold now, I have done this thing: go therefore, bring the young man Absalom again.
22 ಆಗ ಯೋವಾಬನು ಮೋರೆ ಕೆಳಗಾಗಿ ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದು ವಂದಿಸಿದನು. ಯೋವಾಬನು, “ಅರಸನು ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನ ಮಾತಿನ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನಾದ ಅರಸನೇ ನಿನ್ನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ದಯೆ ದೊರಕಿತೆಂಬುದು ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಿತು,” ಎಂದನು.
And Joab fell to the ground on his face, and bowed himself, and thanked the king: and Joab said, To-day thy servant knoweth that I have found grace in thy sight, my lord, O king, in that the king hath fulfilled the request of his servant.
23 ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಯೋವಾಬನು ಎದ್ದು ಗೆಷೂರಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನನ್ನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದನು.
So Joab arose and went to Geshur, and brought Absalom to Jerusalem.
24 ಆದರೆ ಅರಸನು, “ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಹೋಗಲಿ. ಅವನು ನನ್ನ ಮುಖವನ್ನು ನೋಡಬಾರದು,” ಎಂದನು. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನು ಅರಸನ ಮುಖವನ್ನು ನೋಡದೆ ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಹೋದನು.
And the king said, Let him turn to his own house, and let him not see my face. So Absalom returned to his own house, and saw not the king's face.
25 ಸಮಸ್ತ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಳ ಹೊಗಳಿಕೆಗೆ ಪಾತ್ರನಾದ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನಂಥ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವುಳ್ಳವನು ಒಬ್ಬನೂ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವನ ಅಂಗಾಲು ಮೊದಲ್ಗೊಂಡು ನಡುನೆತ್ತಿಯವರೆಗೂ ಅವನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಕಳಂಕವಾದರೂ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಇತ್ತು.
But in all Israel there was none to be so much praised as Absalom for his beauty: from the sole of his foot even to the crown of his head there was no blemish in him.
26 ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ತಲೆಯ ಕೂದಲು ಭಾರವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರತಿವರ್ಷದ ಕೊನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೋಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು. ಬೋಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಾಗ ಅವನ ತಲೆಯ ಕೂದಲು ರಾಜರ ತೂಕದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಎರಡು ಕಿಲೋಗ್ರಾಂ ತೂಕವಾಗಿರುತ್ತಿತ್ತು.
And when he polled his head, (for it was at every year's end that he polled [it]: because [the hair] was heavy on him, therefore he polled it: ) he weighed the hair of his head at two hundred shekels after the king's weight.
27 ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನಿಗೆ ಮೂರು ಮಂದಿ ಪುತ್ರರೂ, ತಾಮಾರ್ ಎಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬ ಪುತ್ರಿಯೂ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದರು. ತಾಮಾರಳು ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವುಳ್ಳ ಸ್ತ್ರೀ ಆಗಿದ್ದಳು.
And to Absalom there were born three sons, and one daughter, whose name [was] Tamar: she was a woman of a fair countenance.
28 ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನು ಅರಸನ ಮುಖವನ್ನು ಕಾಣದೆ, ಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಎರಡು ವರ್ಷ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದನು.
So Absalom dwelt two full years in Jerusalem, and saw not the king's face.
29 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನು ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋವಾಬನನ್ನು ಕರೆಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರಲೊಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೋದನು. ಎರಡನೆಯ ಸಾರಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕರೆಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಅವನು ಬರಲೊಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೋದನು.
Therefore Absalom sent for Joab, that he might send him to the king; but he would not come to him: and when he sent again the second time, he would not come.
30 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೆ, “ನೋಡಿರಿ, ನನ್ನ ಹೊಲಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮೀಪವಾಗಿ ಯೋವಾಬನ ಹೊಲವಿದೆ. ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಜವೆಗೋಧಿ ಇದೆ. ನೀವು ಹೋಗಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಬೆಂಕಿಯಿಂದ ಸುಟ್ಟುಬಿಡಿರಿ,” ಎಂದನು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನ ಸೇವಕರು ಆ ಹೊಲಕ್ಕೆ ಬೆಂಕಿಯನ್ನು ಹಚ್ಚಿದರು.
Therefore he said to his servants, See, Joab's field is near mine, and he hath barley there; go and set it on fire. And Absalom's servants set the field on fire.
31 ಆಗ ಯೋವಾಬನು ಎದ್ದು ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನನ್ನ ಹೊಲವನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರು ಬೆಂಕಿಯಿಂದ ಸುಟ್ಟುಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇಕೆ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
Then Joab arose, and came to Absalom, to [his] house, and said to him, Why have thy servants set my field on fire?
32 ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನು ಯೋವಾಬನಿಗೆ, “ನಾನು ಗೆಷೂರಿನಿಂದ ಏಕೆ ಬಂದೆನೆಂದು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ ‘ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬಾ’ ಎಂದು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕರೆಕಳುಹಿಸಿದೆನು. ನಾನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಅಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಇದ್ದಿದ್ದರೆ ನನಗೆ ಉತ್ತಮವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಈಗ ನಾನು ಅರಸನ ಮುಖವನ್ನು ನೋಡಬೇಕು. ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಅಕ್ರಮ ಇದ್ದರೆ, ಅವನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು ಹಾಕಲಿ,” ಎಂದನು.
And Absalom answered Joab, Behold, I sent to thee, saying, Come hither, that I may send thee to the king, to say, Why am I come from Geshur? it [had been] good for me [had I been] there still: now therefore let me see the king's face; and if there is [any] iniquity in me, let him kill me.
33 ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಯೋವಾಬನು ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಅರಸನು ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನನ್ನು ಕರೆಸಿದನು. ಆಗ ಅವನು ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಸಾಷ್ಟಾಂಗ ನಮಸ್ಕಾರಮಾಡಿದನು. ಆಗ ಅರಸನು ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನಿಗೆ ಮುದ್ದಿಟ್ಟನು.
So Joab came to the king, and told him: and when he had called for Absalom, he came to the king, and bowed himself on his face to the ground before the king: and the king kissed Absalom.
