ಸಮುವೇಲನು - ದ್ವಿತೀಯ ಭಾಗ 12
1 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ದಾವೀದನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ನಾತಾನನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರು. ಅವನು ದಾವೀದನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಒಂದು ಊರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಮನುಷ್ಯರಿದ್ದರು. ಒಬ್ಬನು ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನು, ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನು ಬಡವನು.
And Jehovah sent Nathan to David. And he came to him, and said to him, There were two men in one city; the one rich, and the other poor.
2 ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನಿಗೆ ಕುರಿದನಗಳು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿದ್ದವು.
The rich had very many flocks and herds;
3 ಬಡವನಿಗೆ ತಾನು ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಂಡ ಒಂದು ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಕುರಿಮರಿಯ ಹೊರತು ಬೇರೇನೂ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅದು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ, ಅವನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಸಂಗಡ ಬೆಳೆದು, ಅವನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಆಹಾರ ತಿಂದು, ಅವನ ಪಾತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಡಿದು, ಅವನ ಮಗ್ಗುಲಲ್ಲಿ ಮಲಗಿಕೊಂಡು, ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮಗಳ ಹಾಗಿತ್ತು.
but the poor man had nothing at all, but one little ewe lamb which he had bought, and was nourishing; and it grew up with him, and together with his children: it ate of his morsel, and drank of his own cup, and slept in his bosom, and was to him as a daughter.
4 “ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಒಬ್ಬ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕನು ಬಂದಾಗ, ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನು ಅತಿಥಿಗಾಗಿ ಅಡಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ತನ್ನ ಕುರಿದನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಮನಸ್ಸಿಲ್ಲದೆ, ಆ ಬಡವನ ಕುರಿಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ತನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಅದನ್ನು ಅಡಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿಸಿದನು,” ಎಂದನು.
And there came a traveller to the rich man, and he spared to take of his own flock and of his own herd, to dress for the wayfaring man that had come to him; and he took the poor man's lamb, and dressed it for the man that had come to him.
5 ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಹಳ ಕೋಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ನಾತಾನನಿಗೆ, “ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಜೀವದಾಣೆ, ಇದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ಸಾಯಬೇಕು.
Then David's anger was greatly kindled against the man; and he said to Nathan, As Jehovah liveth, the man that hath done this thing is worthy of death;
6 ಅವನು ಕನಿಕರಪಡದೆ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಆ ಕುರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರವಾಗಿ ನಾಲ್ಕರಷ್ಟು ತಿರುಗಿ ಕೊಡಬೇಕು,” ಎಂದನು.
and he shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing, and because he had no pity.
7 ಆಗ ನಾತಾನನು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನೇ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು! ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೇಳುವುದೇನೆಂದರೆ: ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಅರಸನಾಗಿ ಅಭಿಷೇಕ ಮಾಡಿ, ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಸೌಲನ ಕೈಗೆ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟು;
And Nathan said to David, Thou art the man! Thus saith Jehovah the God of Israel: I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul;
8 ನಿನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಮನೆಯನ್ನೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯರನ್ನೂ ನಿನಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟು; ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮನೆಯನ್ನೂ, ಯೆಹೂದದ ಮನೆಯನ್ನೂ ನಿನಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟೆನು. ಇದು ಸಾಲದೆ ಇದ್ದರೆ, ಇಂಥಿಂಥವುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆನು.
and I gave thee thy master's house, and thy master's wives into thy bosom, and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah; and if [that] had been too little, I would moreover have given unto thee such and such things.
9 ನೀನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ಈ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವಂತೆ ಅವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸಿದ್ದೇನು? ನೀನು ಹಿತ್ತಿಯನಾದ ಊರೀಯನನ್ನು ಖಡ್ಗದಿಂದ ಹೊಡೆದು ಹಾಕಿ, ಅವನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾಗಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡೆ. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರ ಖಡ್ಗದಿಂದ ಕೊಂದು ಹಾಕಿಸಿದೆ.
Wherefore hast thou despised the word of Jehovah to do evil in his sight? thou hast smitten Urijah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon.
10 ಈಗ ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸಿ, ಹಿತ್ತಿಯನಾದ ಊರೀಯನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾಗಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಖಡ್ಗವು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ತೊಲಗದು.
Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thy house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Urijah the Hittite to be thy wife.
11 “ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೇಳುವುದೇನೆಂದರೆ: ‘ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಏಳುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿ, ನಿನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯರನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದು, ನಿನ್ನ ನೆರೆಯವನಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುವೆನು. ಅವನು ಹಗಲು ಹೊತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಲಗುವನು.
Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy neighbour, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun.
12 ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನೀನು ಮರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೆಲ್ಲರ ಮುಂದೆಯೂ, ಹಗಲು ಹೊತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಮಾಡುವೆನು,’” ಎಂದನು.
For thou didst [it] secretly; but I will do this thing before all Israel and before the sun.
13 ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು ನಾತಾನನಿಗೆ, “ನಾನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಪಾಪಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ,” ಎಂದನು. ನಾತಾನನು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಸಾಯದ ಹಾಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿನ್ನ ಪಾಪವನ್ನು ಪರಿಹರಿಸಿದರು.
And David said to Nathan, I have sinned against Jehovah. And Nathan said to David, Jehovah has also put away thy sin: thou shalt not die.
14 ಹೇಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯದಿಂದ ನೀನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಶತ್ರುಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ದೇವದೂಷಣೆ ಮಾಡುವಂತೆ ಆಸ್ಪದ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಕಾರಣ, ನಿನಗೆ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ಮಗುವು ಖಂಡಿತವಾಗಿ ಸಾಯುವುದು,” ಎಂದನು.
Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of Jehovah to blaspheme, even the child that is born to thee shall certainly die.
15 ನಂತರ ನಾತಾನನು ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೋದನು. ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು, ಊರೀಯನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಹೆತ್ತ ಕೂಸನ್ನು ಬಾಧಿಸಲು, ಅದು ಬಹಳ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥವಾಯಿತು.
And Nathan departed to his house. And Jehovah smote the child that Urijah's wife bore to David, and it became very sick.
16 ದಾವೀದನು ಕೂಸಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡನು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ದಾವೀದನು ಉಪವಾಸ ಮಾಡಿ, ಒಳಗಿನ ಕೋಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆಯೇ ರಾತ್ರಿ ಕಳೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
And David besought God for the child; and David fasted, and went in, and lay all night on the earth.
17 ಅವನನ್ನು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನ ಮನೆಯ ಹಿರಿಯರು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು. ಆದರೆ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಇತ್ತು. ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಭೋಜನ ಮಾಡದೆ ಇದ್ದನು.
And the elders of his house arose, [and went] to him, to raise him up from the earth; but he would not, and he ate no bread with them.
18 ಮಗುವು ಏಳನೆಯ ದಿವಸ ಸತ್ತು ಹೋಯಿತು. ಆಗ ಮಗುವು ಸತ್ತು ಹೋಯಿತೆಂದು ದಾವೀದನ ಸೇವಕರು ಅವನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟರು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ, “ಮಗುವು ಇನ್ನೂ ಬದುಕಿರುವಾಗ, ನಾವು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದಾಗ, ಅವನು ನಮ್ಮ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳದೆ ಹೋದನು. ಈಗ ಮಗುವು ಸತ್ತು ಹೋಯಿತೆಂದು ನಾವು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದರೆ, ಅವನು ತನಗೆ ಏನಾದರೂ ಕೇಡುಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನೋ?” ಎಂದುಕೊಂಡರು.
And it came to pass on the seventh day, that the child died. And the servants of David feared to tell him that the child was dead; for they said, Behold, while the child was yet alive, we spoke to him, and he would not hearken to our voice; and how shall we say to him, The child is dead? he may do some harm.
19 ಆದರೆ ದಾವೀದನು ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರು ಪಿಸುಗುಟ್ಟುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು, ಮಗು ಸತ್ತು ಹೋಯಿತೆಂದು ಗ್ರಹಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು. ದಾವೀದನು ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೆ, “ಮಗುವು ಸತ್ತು ಹೋಯಿತೋ?” ಎಂದನು. ಅವರು, “ಸತ್ತು ಹೋಯಿತು,” ಎಂದರು.
But David saw that his servants whispered, and David perceived that the child was dead; and David said to his servants, Is the child dead? And they said, He is dead.
20 ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು ನೆಲದಿಂದ ಎದ್ದು ಸ್ನಾನಮಾಡಿ, ತೈಲವನ್ನು ಹಚ್ಚಿಕೊಂಡವನಾಗಿ, ಬದಲು ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ಅವರನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸಿ ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಬಂದನು. ಅವನ ಕೋರಿಕೆಯ ಮೇರೆಗೆ ಅವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ಬಡಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಅವನು ತಿನ್ನುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
Then David arose from the earth, and washed, and anointed himself, and changed his clothing, and entered into the house of Jehovah and worshipped; then he came to his own house and required them to set bread before him, and he ate.
21 ಅವನ ಸೇವಕರು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಇದು ಏನು ನೀನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು? ಮಗುವು ಜೀವದಿಂದ ಇರುವಾಗ, ನೀನು ಉಪವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದು ಅದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಅಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಮಗುವು ಸತ್ತಮೇಲೆ ನೀನು ಎದ್ದು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ತಿಂದೆ,” ಎಂದರು.
And his servants said to him, What thing is this which thou hast done? thou didst fast and weep for the child alive; but as soon as the child is dead, thou dost rise and eat bread.
22 ಅದಕ್ಕವನು, “ಮಗುವು ಜೀವದಿಂದ ಇರುವಾಗ ಅದು ಬದುಕುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನನಗೆ ದಯಮಾಡುವರೋ ಎಂದು ಉಪವಾಸ ಮಾಡಿ ಅತ್ತೆನು.
And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept; for I thought, Who knows? [perhaps] Jehovah will be gracious to me, that the child may live.
23 ಆದರೆ ಈಗ ಸತ್ತಿದೆಯಲ್ಲಾ. ನಾನು ಉಪವಾಸ ಮಾಡುವುದು ಏಕೆ? ನಾನು ಅದನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಬರಮಾಡಬಲ್ಲೆನೋ? ನಾನು ಅದರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವೆನು. ಆದರೆ ಅದು ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಬರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದನು.
But now he is dead, why should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he will not return to me.
24 ದಾವೀದನು ತನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾದ ಬತ್ಷೆಬೆಳನ್ನು ಆಧರಿಸಿ, ಅವಳ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವಳ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಲಗಿದನು. ಅವಳು ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹೆತ್ತಳು. ಅವನಿಗೆ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನೆಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟನು. ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
And David comforted Bathsheba his wife, and went in to her and lay with her; and she bore a son, and he called his name Solomon; and Jehovah loved him.
25 ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ನಾತಾನನ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಯೆದೀದ್ಯ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟನು.
And he sent by the hand of Nathan the prophet; and he called his name Jedidiah, for Jehovah's sake.
26 ಯೋವಾಬನು ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರ ರಬ್ಬತಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿ, ಅರಮನೆ ಇದ್ದ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ವಶಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು.
And Joab fought against Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and took the royal city.
27 ಯೋವಾಬನು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ, “ನಾನು ರಬ್ಬಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿ, ನೀರು ಪೂರೈಕೆಯ ಭಾಗವನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
And Joab sent messengers to David, and said, I have fought against Rabbah, and have taken the city of waters.
28 ಈಗ ನಾನು ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು, ಅದು ನನ್ನ ಹೆಸರಿಗೆ ಕೀರ್ತಿ ಬಾರದ ಹಾಗೆ ನೀನು ಜನರನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು, ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಮುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಹಾಕಿ ಹಿಡಿ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ದೂತರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
And now gather the rest of the people, and encamp against the city and take it: lest I take the city and it be called by my name.
29 ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ದಾವೀದನು ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ರಬ್ಬಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿ ಅದನ್ನು ವಶಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡನು.
And David gathered all the people, and went to Rabbah, and fought against it and took it.
30 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ದಾವೀದನು ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರ ಅರಸನ ತಲೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಇದ್ದ ಕಿರೀಟವನ್ನು ಸಹ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡನು. ಅದು ಮೂವತ್ತೈದು ಕಿಲೋಗ್ರಾಂ ತೂಕದ್ದಾಗಿತ್ತು ಅದನ್ನು ಬಂಗಾರದಿಂದಲೂ, ಅಮೂಲ್ಯವಾದ ರತ್ನಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ಅಲಂಕರಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು, ಆ ಕಿರೀಟವನ್ನು ದಾವೀದನ ಶಿರಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಧರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದೊಳಗಿಂದ ಅತ್ಯಧಿಕವಾದ ಕೊಳ್ಳೆಯನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದನು.
And he took the crown of their king from off his head, the weight of which was a talent of gold with [the] precious stones; and it was [set] on David's head; and he brought forth the spoil of the city in great abundance.
31 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ಅದರಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಜನರನ್ನು ಹೊರಗೆ ತಂದು, ಅವರನ್ನು ಗರಗಸ ಗುದ್ದಲಿ ಕೊಡಲಿಗಳಿಂದ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೂ ಇಟ್ಟಿಗೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸುಡುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಇಟ್ಟನು. ಅದೇ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ದಾವೀದನು ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಿಗೂ ಮಾಡಿದನು. ಅನಂತರ ದಾವೀದನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸೈನಿಕರೊಡನೆ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಬಂದನು.
And he brought out the people that were in it, and put them under the saw, and under harrows of iron, and under axes of iron, and made them pass through the brickkilns. And so did he to all the cities of the children of Ammon. And David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.
