ಅರಸುಗಳು - ದ್ವಿತೀಯ ಭಾಗ 4

1 ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಗುಂಪಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಎಲೀಷನಿಗೆ ಕೂಗಿ, “ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಗಂಡನು ಮರಣಹೊಂದಿದನು. ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಡುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದನೆಂದು ನೀನು ಬಲ್ಲೆ. ಈಗ ಸಾಲಗಾರನು ನನ್ನ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ತನಗೆ ದಾಸರಾಗಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾನೆ,” ಎಂದಳು.

Now the wife of one of the sons of the prophets came crying to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared Yahweh. Now the creditor has come to take my two children to be his slaves.”

2 ಎಲೀಷನು ಅವಳಿಗೆ, “ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಏನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು? ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನಗೆ ಏನು ಉಂಟು? ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸು,” ಎಂದನು. ಅವಳು, “ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಪಾತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪವೇ ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತೊಂದಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದಳು.

So Elisha said to her, “What can I do for you? Tell me what do you have in the house?” She said, “Your servant has nothing in the house, except a pot of oil.”

3 ಆಗ ಅವನು, “ನೀನು ಹೋಗಿ ಹೊರಗಿರುವ ನಿನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ನೆರೆಮನೆಯವರಿಂದ ಬರಿದಾದ ಪಾತ್ರೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬೇಕಾದಷ್ಟು ಕೇಳಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಾ.

Then Elisha said, “Go out to borrow jars from your neighbors, empty jars. Borrow as many as possible.

4 ನೀನು ಒಳಗೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿ, ನೀನೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ಪುತ್ರರೂ ಬಾಗಿಲು ಮುಚ್ಚಿಕೊಂಡು, ಆ ಪಾತ್ರೆಗಳಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಹೊಯ್ದು ತುಂಬಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಒಂದು ಕಡೆ ಇಡು,” ಎಂದನು.

Then you must go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons, and pour oil into all those jars; set aside the jars that are full.”

5 ಹೀಗೆ ಅವಳು ಅವನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗಿ, ತಾನೂ, ತನ್ನ ಪುತ್ರರೂ ಬಾಗಿಲು ಮುಚ್ಚಿದರು. ಇವರು ಅವಳ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಪಾತ್ರೆಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದರು. ಅವಳು ಎಣ್ಣೆಯನ್ನು ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಯ್ದಳು.

So she left Elisha and shut the door behind her and her sons. They brought the jars to her, and she filled them with oil.

6 ಆ ಪಾತ್ರೆಗಳು ತುಂಬಿದ ತರುವಾಯ ಅವಳು ತನ್ನ ಮಗನಿಗೆ, “ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಪಾತ್ರೆಯನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಾ,” ಎಂದಳು. ಮಗನು ಅವಳಿಗೆ, “ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಪಾತ್ರೆ ಇಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದನು. ಆಗ ಎಣ್ಣೆಯು ನಿಂತುಹೋಯಿತು.

When the vessels were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another jar.” But he said to her, “There are no more jars.” Then the oil stopped flowing.

7 ಅವಳು ಬಂದು ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದಳು. ಅವನು, “ನೀನು ಹೋಗಿ ಆ ಎಣ್ಣೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾರಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಾಲವನ್ನು ತೀರಿಸಿ, ಮಿಕ್ಕದ್ದರಿಂದ ನೀನೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಜೀವನ ಮಾಡಿರಿ,” ಎಂದನು.

Then she came and told the man of God. He said, “Go, sell the oil; pay your debt, and live with your sons on the rest.”

8 ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಎಲೀಷನು ಶೂನೇಮಿಗೆ ಹೋದನು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬಳು ಶ್ರೀಮಂತ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ಇದ್ದಳು. ಅವಳು ಅವನನ್ನು ಊಟ ಮಾಡಲು ಬಲವಂತ ಮಾಡಿದಳು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವನು ಆ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿ ಹೋಗುವಾಗಲೆಲ್ಲಾ, ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಊಟ ಮಾಡಲು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.

One day Elisha walked to Shunem where an important woman lived; she urged him to eat food with her. So as often as Elisha passed by, he would stop there to eat.

9 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವಳು ತನ್ನ ಗಂಡನಿಗೆ, “ಇಗೋ, ನಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಹಾದುಹೋಗುವ ಇವನು ದೇವರ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಾಗಿರುತ್ತಾನೆಂದು ನನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಾಯಿತು.

The woman said to her husband, “See, now I realize that this is a holy man of God who is always passing by.

10 ನಾವು ಮಾಳಿಗೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಒಂದು ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಕೊಠಡಿಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿ, ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಮಂಚವನ್ನೂ, ಮೇಜನ್ನೂ, ಕುರ್ಚಿಯನ್ನೂ, ದೀಪವನ್ನೂ ಇಡೋಣ. ಅವನು ನಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರುವಾಗ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇರಲಿ,” ಎಂದಳು.

Let us make a little room on the roof for Elisha, and let us put in it a bed, a table, a seat, and a lamp. Then when he comes to us, he will stay there.”

11 ಒಂದು ದಿವಸ ಎಲೀಷನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದು, ಆ ಕೊಠಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿ ಮಲಗಿದನು.

So when the day came again that Elisha stopped there, he stayed in the room and rested there.

12 ಆಗ ಎಲೀಷನು ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ಗೇಹಜಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಶೂನೇಮ್ಯಳನ್ನು ಕರೆ,” ಎಂದನು. ಅವನು ಅವಳನ್ನು ಕರೆದದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವಳು ಎಲೀಷನ ಮುಂದೆ ಬಂದು ನಿಂತಳು.

Elisha said to Gehazi his servant, “Call this Shunammite.” When he had called her, she stood before him.

13 ಅವನು ಗೇಹಜಿಗೆ, “ಇಗೋ, ನೀನು ಕಷ್ಟಪಟ್ಟು ನಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಉಪಕಾರಮಾಡಿದೆ. ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾದದ್ದೇನು? ನಿನಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಅರಸನ ಸಂಗಡಲಾದರೂ, ಸೈನ್ಯಾಧಿಪತಿಯ ಸಂಗಡಲಾದರೂ ಮಾತನಾಡಬೇಕೋ ಎಂದು ಆಕೆಗೆ ಕೇಳು,” ಎಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕವಳು, “ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಜನರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಖವಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ,” ಎಂದಳು.

Elisha said to him, “Say to her, 'You have gone to all this trouble to care for us. What can be done for you? Can we speak for you to the king or to the army commander?'” She answered, “I live among my own people.”

14 ಎಲೀಷನು ಗೇಹಜಿಗೆ, “ಅವಳಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾದದ್ದೇನು?” ಎಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಗೇಹಜಿಯು, “ಅವಳಿಗೆ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವಳ ಗಂಡನು ವೃದ್ಧನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ,” ಎಂದನು.

So Elisha said, “What can we do for her, then?” Gehazi answered, “Indeed, she has no son, and her husband is old.”

15 ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯು, “ಅವಳನ್ನು ಕರೆ,” ಎಂದನು. ಗೇಹಜಿಯು ಅವಳನ್ನು ಕರೆದಾಗ ಅವಳು ಬಾಗಿಲಲ್ಲೇ ನಿಂತಳು.

So Elisha answered, “Call her.” When he had called her, she stood in the door.

16 ಆಗ ಅವನು, “ಮುಂದಿನ ವರ್ಷ ಈ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವೆ,” ಎಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕವಳು, “ಹಾಗಲ್ಲ, ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನೇ, ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕಿಗೆ ನೀನು ಸುಳ್ಳು ಹೇಳಬೇಡ,” ಎಂದಳು.

Elisha said, “At this time of year, in one year's time, you will be holding a son.” She said, “No, my master and man of God, do not lie to your servant.”

17 ಆದರೆ, ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ಗರ್ಭಧರಿಸಿ, ಎಲೀಷನು ಹೇಳಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಮುಂದಿನ ವರ್ಷದ ಅದೇ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹೆತ್ತಳು.

But the woman conceived and gave birth to a son at the same time in the following year, as Elisha had said to her.

18 ಆ ಮಗುವು ಬೆಳೆದಾಗ ಒಂದು ದಿವಸ, ಅವನು ಬೆಳೆ ಕೊಯ್ಯುವವರ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದನು.

When the child had grown, he went out one day to his father, who was with harvesters.

19 ಆಗ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಗೆ, “ನನ್ನ ತಲೆ, ನನ್ನ ತಲೆ,” ಎಂದನು. ತಂದೆಯು ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಿಗೆ, “ಅವನನ್ನು ಅವನ ತಾಯಿಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಎತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗು,” ಎಂದನು.

He said to his father, “My head, my head.” His father said to his servant, “Carry him to his mother.”

20 ಸೇವಕನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಅವನ ತಾಯಿಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಎತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದನು. ಅವನು ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನದವರೆಗೂ ಅವಳ ತೊಡೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಇದ್ದು ಅನಂತರ ಮರಣಹೊಂದಿದನು.

When the servant had picked him up and brought the boy to his mother, the child sat on her knees until noon and then died.

21 ಆಗ ಅವಳು ಏರಿಹೋಗಿ, ಅವನನ್ನು ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಮಂಚದ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಲಗಿಸಿ ಬಾಗಿಲು ಮುಚ್ಚಿದಳು.

So the woman got up and laid the boy on the bed of the man of God, shut the door, and went out.

22 ತನ್ನ ಗಂಡನನ್ನು ಕರೆದು, “ನಾನು ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬೇಗನೆ ಹೋಗಿ ತಿರುಗಿ ಬರುವ ಹಾಗೆ, ನೀನು ದಯಮಾಡಿ ಸೇವಕನನ್ನೂ ಒಂದು ಕತ್ತೆಯನ್ನೂ ಕಳುಹಿಸು,” ಎಂದಳು.

She called to her husband, and said, “Please send me one of the servants and one of the donkeys so that I may hurry to the man of God and then come back.”

23 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನು, “ಇದು ಅಮಾವಾಸ್ಯೆ ಅಲ್ಲ, ಸಬ್ಬತ್ ದಿನವೂ ಅಲ್ಲ. ನೀನು ಏಕೆ ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತೀ?” ಎಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕವಳು, “ಅಡ್ಡಿಯೇನಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದಳು.

Her husband said, “Why do you want to go to him today? It is not a new moon nor a Sabbath.” She replied, “It will be all right.”

24 ಆಗ ಅವಳು ಕತ್ತೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ತಡಿಯನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿಸಿ ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಿಗೆ, “ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗು. ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳುವವರೆಗೂ, ನನಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಸವಾರಿಯನ್ನು ನಿಧಾನಗೊಳಿಸಬೇಡ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ,

Then she saddled a donkey and said to her servant, “Drive on quickly; do not slow down for me unless I say so.”

25 ಕರ್ಮೆಲ್ ಬೆಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದಳು. ಆಗ ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ದೂರದಿಂದ ಅವಳು ಬರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡನು. ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ಗೇಹಜಿಗೆ, “ಇಗೋ, ಆ ಶೂನೇಮ್ಯಳು ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಳೆ.

So she went and came to the man of God at Mount Carmel. So when the man of God saw her in the distance, he said to Gehazi his servant, “Look, here comes the Shunammite woman.

26 ನೀನು ಅವಳನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಳ್ಳಲು ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ, ಅವಳಿಗೆ, ‘ನಿನಗೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ಗಂಡನಿಗೂ ಮಗನಿಗೂ ಕ್ಷೇಮವೇ? ಎಂದು ಕೇಳು,’” ಎಂದನು. ಅವಳು, “ಕ್ಷೇಮ” ಎಂದಳು.

Please run to meet her and say to her, 'Is everything alright with you and with your husband and child?'” She answered, “It is alright.”

27 ಅವಳು ಬೆಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು, ಅವನ ಪಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದಳು. ಆದರೆ ಅವಳನ್ನು ತಳ್ಳಿ ಹಾಕಲು ಗೇಹಜಿಯು ಹತ್ತಿರ ಬಂದದ್ದರಿಂದ ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು, “ಅವಳನ್ನು ಬಿಡು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವಳ ಹೃದಯವು ಬಹಳ ನೋವಿನಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿದೆ. ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಅದನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸದೆ ಮರೆಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ,” ಎಂದನು.

When she came to the man of God at the mountain, she caught hold of his feet. Gehazi came near to thrust her away but the man of God said, “Leave her alone, for she is very upset, and Yahweh has hidden the problem from me, and has told me nothing.”

28 ಆಗ ಅವಳು, “ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನಿಂದ ಪುತ್ರನನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿಕೊಂಡೆನೋ? ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಮೋಸಗೊಳಿಸಬೇಡವೆಂದು ನಾನು ಹೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ?” ಎಂದಳು.

Then she said, “Did I ask you for a son, my master? Did I not say, 'Do not deceive me'?”

29 ಎಲೀಷನು ಗೇಹಜಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಡಿಲವಾದ ಉಡುಪನ್ನು ನಡುವಿಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡು, ನನ್ನ ಕೋಲನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗು. ನಿನಗೆ ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ಎದುರುಗೊಂಡರೆ, ಅವನನ್ನು ವಂದಿಸಬೇಡ; ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ವಂದಿಸಿದರೆ, ಅವನಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತರ ಹೇಳಬೇಡ; ನನ್ನ ಕೋಲನ್ನು ಆ ಹುಡುಗನ ಮುಖದ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಾಕು,” ಎಂದನು.

Then Elisha said to Gehazi, “Dress for travel and take my staff in your hand. Go to her home. If you meet any man, do not greet him, and if anyone greets you, do not answer him. Lay my staff on the child's face.”

30 ಆದರೆ ಹುಡುಗನ ತಾಯಿಯು, “ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಜೀವದಾಣೆ, ನಿನ್ನ ಜೀವದಾಣೆ, ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದಳು. ಆಗ ಅವನೆದ್ದು ಅವಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೋದನು.

But the mother of the child said, “As Yahweh lives, and as you live, I will not leave you.” So Elisha arose and followed her.

31 ಗೇಹಜಿಯು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮುಂದಾಗಿ ಹೋಗಿ, ಆ ಕೋಲನ್ನು ಆ ಹುಡುಗನ ಮುಖದ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಟ್ಟನು. ಆದರೆ ಶಬ್ದವಾದರೂ, ಆಲೈಸುವುದಾದರೂ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಗೇಹಜಿಯು ಎಲೀಷನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಳ್ಳಲು ತಿರುಗಿ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಹುಡುಗನು ಎಚ್ಚರವಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದನು.

Gehazi hurried on ahead of them and laid the staff on the child's face, but the child did not speak or hear. So then Gehazi returned to meet Elisha and told him saying, “The child has not awakened.”

32 ಎಲೀಷನು ಆ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟಿದಾಗ, ಸತ್ತ ಹುಡುಗನನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಮಂಚದ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಟ್ಟಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡನು.

When Elisha arrived at the house, the child was dead and was still on the bed.

33 ಅವನು ಒಳಗೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿ, ಯಾರೂ ಒಳಗೆ ಬಾರದಂತೆ ಬಾಗಿಲು ಮುಚ್ಚಿಕೊಂಡು, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿದನು.

So Elisha went in and shut the door on the child and himself and prayed to Yahweh.

34 ಅವನು ಮಗುವಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಲಗಿಕೊಂಡು, ತನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿಯನ್ನು ಅವನ ಬಾಯಿಯ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ, ತನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ಅವನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ, ತನ್ನ ಕೈಗಳನ್ನು ಅವನ ಕೈಗಳ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಇರಿಸಿದನು. ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೋರಲು ಬಿದ್ದುದರಿಂದ ಮಗುವಿನ ಶರೀರವು ಬೆಚ್ಚಗೆ ಆಯಿತು.

He went up and lay on the child; he put his mouth on his mouth, his eyes on his eyes, and his hands on his hands. He stretched himself out on the boy, and the boy's body grew warm.

35 ಅವನು ಆಮೇಲೆ ಎದ್ದು ಕೋಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಅತ್ತಿತ್ತ ತಿರುಗಾಡಿ, ಪುನಃ ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೋರಲು ಬಿದ್ದನು. ಆಗ ಆ ಹುಡುಗನು ಏಳು ಸಾರಿ ಸೀತು ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ತೆರೆದನು.

Then Elisha got up and walked around the room and again went up and stretched himself out on the boy. The child sneezed seven times and then opened his eyes!

36 ಆಗ ಅವನು ಗೇಹಜಿಯನ್ನು ಕರೆದು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಶೂನೇಮ್ಯಳನ್ನು ಕರೆ,” ಎಂದನು. ಗೇಹಜಿಯು ಅವಳನ್ನು ಕರೆದನು. ಅವಳು ಎಲೀಷನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅವನು, “ನಿನ್ನ ಪುತ್ರನನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗು,” ಎಂದನು.

So Elisha called Gehazi and said, “Call the Shunammite!” So he called her, and when she came into the room, Elisha said, “Pick up your son.”

37 ಆಗ ಅವಳು ಬಂದು, ಅವನ ಪಾದಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದು, ನೆಲಕ್ಕೆ ಬಗ್ಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೊರಟು ಹೋದಳು.

Then she lay facedown on the ground at his feet and bowed to the ground, and then picked up her son and went out.

38 ಎಲೀಷನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಗಿಲ್ಗಾಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ, ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರ ಉಂಟಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಮಂಡಳಿ ಅವನ ಮುಂದೆ ಕುಳಿತಿರುವಾಗ, ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಗಡಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಮೇಲಿಟ್ಟು, ಈ ಜನರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಅಡಿಗೆ ಮಾಡು,” ಎಂದನು.

Then Elisha came again to Gilgal. There was famine in the land, and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him. He said to his servant, “Put the large pot on the fire and cook stew for the sons of the prophets.”

39 ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಪಲ್ಯವನ್ನು ತರಲು ಅಡವಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ಅಡವಿಯ ಬಳ್ಳಿಯನ್ನು ಕಂಡು, ಅಡವಿಯ ಕಾಯಿಗಳನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಉಡಿಯ ತುಂಬ ಕೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು, ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಯ್ದು ಗಡಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿದನು. ಅವು ಏನೆಂದು ಯಾರಿಗೂ ತಿಳಿದಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.

One of them went out into a field to gather vegetables. He found a wild vine and gathered enough wild gourds to fill the fold of his robe. They cut them up and put them into the stew, but did not know what kind they were.

40 ಜನರಿಗೆ ಅದನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಡಿಸಿದರು. ಅವರು ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ, “ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನೇ, ಗಡಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮರಣ,” ಎಂದು ಕೂಗಿದರು. ಅವರು ಅದರಲ್ಲಿದ್ದದ್ದನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನಲಾರದೆ ಹೋದರು.

So they poured out the stew for the men to eat. Later, as they were eating, they cried out and said, “Man of God, there is death in the pot!” So they could not eat it anymore.

41 ಆಗ ಎಲೀಷನು ಹಿಟ್ಟನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬರಲು ಹೇಳಿ, ಅದನ್ನು ಗಡಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿ, “ಈಗ ಇದನ್ನು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಬಡಿಸಿರಿ,” ಎಂದನು. ಆಗ ಆ ಗಡಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿನ ವಿಷವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹೋಗಿತ್ತು.

But Elisha said, “Bring some flour.” He threw it into the pot and said, “Pour it out for the people, so that they may eat.” Then there was no longer anything hurtful in the pot.

42 ಬಾಳ್ ಶಾಲಿಷಾ ಊರಿನಿಂದ ಒಬ್ಬನು ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಫಲವಾದ ಜವೆಗೋಧಿಯ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಒಂದು ಚೀಲ ತುಂಬಿದ ತೆನೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದನು. ಆಗ ಎಲೀಷನು, “ಜನರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡು ಅವರು ತಿನ್ನಲಿ,” ಎಂದನು.

A man came from Baal Shalishah to the man of God and brought twenty loaves of barley bread in his sack from the new harvest, and fresh ears of grain. He said, “Give this to the people so they can eat.”

43 ಅವನ ಸೇವಕನು, “ಇದನ್ನು ನೂರು ಮಂದಿಗೆ ಬಡಿಸುವುದು ಹೇಗೆ?” ಎಂದನು. “‘ತಿನ್ನಲು ಜನರಿಗೆ ನೀಡು, ಅವರು ತಿಂದು ಅನಂತರ ಉಳಿಯುವುದು,’ ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ,” ಎಂದು ಎಲೀಷನು ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟನು.

His servant said, “What, should I set this before a hundred men?” But Elisha said, “Give this to the people, so they can eat, because Yahweh says, 'They will eat and will have some left.'”

44 ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಸೇವಕನು ಬಡಿಸಿದನು. ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನುಡಿದಂತೆಯೇ ಜನರು ಊಟಮಾಡಿ, ತೃಪ್ತರಾಗಿ ಇನ್ನೂ ಉಳಿಯಿತು.

So his servant set it before them; they ate, and left some remaining, just as the word of Yahweh promised.
